In regard to this comment:

So here’s my conspiracy theory. Angry has decided to close the blog down, but can’t quite pull the trigger on that decision, so he has engaged Jack to drive everyone away and shut it down indirectly.

Not true at all. We just renewed for 4 years.

Seriously though, is there anything worth discussing? Like if you owned and ran this blog, would you want to talk about anything right now? I don’t believe in “publish or die”, but apparently some here do. Do people want posts for the sake of posts? If you want the normal day to day stuff read the Oregonian or maybe go read BeaverByte and take a poll on how many touchdowns Mannion will throw? That kind of crap is not for me.. This blog covers things that are non-mainstream, critical, “negative”, interesting, etc. There is nothing like that going on right now. Period.

When fall camp begins I’m sure things will get more interesting as position battles develop, Riley makes his boneheaded errors, and so forth. I can’t make up things that don’t exists, though, so get off my case MFs!

  1. Well, the next big thing is football fall camp, right? A ways off, but how about analysis of the positions/depth chart, the schedule, the fit and help (?) from the new coaches, and projections for the next season? I love the opinions on such, on here. Who knows, Riley might have one of his UP years…..

  2. Well put Angry you MFer!
It’s summer, no sports going on that anyone cares about so enjoy the sun and back away from the keyboard once in awhile.

Here’s a topic to discuss; I’m wanting to take up stand up paddle boarding, anyone here do that?

  3. I, for one, am looking forward to at least 4 more years of AB.

Sure, there are times when things get off track and there is nothing going on worth discussing, but those are more than offset by solid analysis, informative practice reports (thanks Silver, et al), and just plain provocative and relevant discussion material. Even humor.

Doesn’t bother me if Jack talks to himself here, easy enough to read or ignore as you so choose.
    GO BEAVS, GO ANGRY!

Hint: sometimes checking the timestamp on Jack’s posts is worthwhile.
    GO JACK, GO! Please?

      • In fact… this is one area where CR failed miserably. We talk all the time about assistants and how they impact a team in any given sport. But hoops is so different in that connections are connections. Sorry if I can’t be more clear about that concept, but there’s a fine line between “connections” and being connected to World Wide Wes. I don’t like the line, but it is what it is.

CR was stubborn and loyal. That was great as a personal trait, but he died because he refused to be cold-blooded.

        • Do you think CR is going to coach again? I don’t think I’ve seen a single post-termination interview with him. He’s an articulate guy, I would interested to hear his take on his tenure. Maybe more time needs to pass.

          • He was only “articulate” when he was our coach and darkie was the prez.

Sorry for being blunt about that, but nobody seemed to give the man credit for just being outstanding as a person and being able to sell ice to a penguin at the same time. The guy is good.

It didn’t work here. It will work somewhere else. We know his faults. They are summed up in his undying loyalty to insufficient assistants and his inability to make in-game adjustments. That’s about it.

I would hire him next time up based on the job he did at OSU. I don’t know why someone else… ahem… closer to Chicago… *cough*… might not take that chance.

He really does need an assistant who can push D though. If he had one ever at OSU, he would still be the coach here. And he needs to run some ice-water through his veins. He has the experience. He grew up in the real world succeeding in boiler rooms. I know he is anti-… umm… that world. But he really needs to take that side of his life and incorporate it into his coaching.

        • Loyalty is a good trait. Being stubborn is often not a good trait. It usually means the person is so egotistical that they cannot fathom that they are wrong or they are too stupid to make decisions based on changing facts and or conditions that simple deduction would dictate.

          • I don’t know if ego can be blamed for this when a bunker mentality sets in. Look at our football staff and the same old same old that goes on there year after year. Certainly it can be a part of the equation. And I’m not saying it’s not on the football side too. But it seems like these people back themselves up against a wall then start lashing out when someone asks them why they’re backed against a wall.

          • I was going to post similar thoughts – not sure it was as much loyalty as “if I get someone good in here they are going to point out my inadequacies.” Coaches don’t admit to reading blogs although I suspect they occasionally do – if CR did he would have realized how often fans decried the lack of good assistant coaches – particularly to teach defense.

    • Unfortunately my “abs” shut down years ago thanks to my insistence on eating lots of food and exercising very little and yes Jack I could go for some huevos rancheros about now.

        • I actually want to go make some right now. Damn! You suck… or you don’t, and I’m yelling at you because that sounds really good.

          • Ugh! It’s too late for food.

But I’m gonna fire up the tortillas and salsa in the AM.

Damn you! I think I know what my dreams will be about tonight.

          • Okay… here’s an instance where I’m supposed to take flack from any number of contributors. There should be some kind of smack about sausage or morning wood along with the whole huevos motif.

I’m not used to being somewhere I get no feedback.

  4. Also OT… is it sad that my kids first recognize… and are excited about… a new Tardis?

Yes… we’re catching up with the Doctor.

  5. I have some questions for the Obi Wan BeaverKenobies. A few years ago I dropped Dish to go broadcast only. I then signed on with Comcast month to month for the football season. I felt like I wasted money last year and had decided to watch this year on radio. But have been thinking lately about signing up with Dish as I hear they will let you suspend for 9 months. I need help with my decision. Will Riley make any bone head decisions? Will running QBs be added to the Heisman watch list after they play our defense? Will Mannion take a beating? Will the running backs run with the authority of the Pillsbury Dough boy? Will we lose to Portland State? Will I be wasting money? Also Jack seems to have a lot of time on his hands.

      • hold on tight allright I’m a Highway Starrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have know idea what Ian Gillian is signing about….it may be a fast car, it may be fast women, it may be killing people with his fast car. I guess that is the essence of heavy metal.

        • Legend has it the band was on a bus with some press, and one of the reporters asked them how they went about making music. Blackmore started in on this riff, and Gillan just started free-lancing. A couple hours later they had this song, practiced it at sound check and opened that night’s show with it.

So if there’s a little too much adolescent double entendre going on with the lyrics, that they never bothered to polish it could be a viable explanation.

          • I forgot about that great story…it’s interesting because “Smoke” is so specific and detailed, but I guess that’s what comes with describing an actual event. Anyway, underrated band in my opinion.

  6. Holy Shite!

I go and look on educk for my once-a-month dirty pleasure, and I find this?
    http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=128&f=1423&t=12982020

It’s pretty obvious Duckpidity is alive and well… and that nobody on that forsaken site knows how to read. WTF kids? I wish we had Bill or someone like him at OSU. Instead we get Kirk friggin S. Nevin… who, btw has an arena in Pennsylvania named after him.

    • Damn!

“Can someone name a negative of Phil Knight’s influence at the University of Oregon?”

Ummm… yes… several… speaking as a citizen of Oregon, specifically as a citizen of Eugene.

It’s like the slave trader is Mike Riley or something. It must be because Phil has always done it the right way… let comments of bevis and sheep ensue.

  7. well, as the guy who Angry quotes to begin this new thread let me say several things. (1) I’m delighted Angry has renewed the blog for four more years. (2) Indeed I’m very glad that my post elicited Angry’s news that he has re-upped; that is truly both reassuring and in a way newsworthy, given Angry’s temptations to sell the site, and ruminations over whether the effort is worth it. (3) This blog is where I go first to get the drift on OSU sports news. I like the insights, the tips on early developments, and even Jack, when he has something to say. Myself, I’m comfortable with “silence.” If nothing’s going on, so be it, but noise for noise’s sake (yep, that’s you of late Jack), well, nuff said . . . . Nothing but the highest regards for your efforts, Angry.

    • Is Weinriech healthy?

I’m thinking Isaac needs to move out to the left with Harlow inside him… Mitchell in the middle with Bays and Andrews on the right.

Defense is confusing until we see them play, but it sounds like the starters are going to be Wynn, Hautau, Grimble and James.

      • I like that Oline given the Weinriech question. If he’s healthy, at 6’6″ I’d like to see him bookending Isaac at RT…

I see James at left DE, Hautau and Grimble in the middle, Wynn at right DE. I am hoping to see Tago’s purported strength and burst this year and expect Bennet-Jackson will get a lot of reps. I will be interested to see how Old Man Pritchard does at DE and how he develops. Will Obum turn out to be an ineffective gimmick or an occasional playmaker? I think Grimble’s going to create opportunties for others, and hope ‘Boom can capitalize once in a while. Wait for the jokes if/when a QB escapes his grasp…

      • Pretty good interior.

Not high on James, and Wynn has been a let down…he should improve as a senior and could be serviceable.

        • I agree on James… to a point. He’s serviceable. Barnett should be the man taking tha position. But Barnett is not taking that position. So now I’m left saying James is serviceable.

I don’t know how Wynn can be seen as a let down. He has worked and led and produced since day… oh… wait… bulletin board shit….

          Yeah… Wynn sucks.

Wait… if someone dies when he tackles them, are we liable?

  8. If our O line starters stay healthy, I think the results will be good – even very good (that’s if we have Seumalo at LT). It’s just quality depth that we’re lacking.

Last year was insane for O line injuries, but we’ve had a lot in the past as well. Since NFL teams only carry 8 or so O linemen, it must not be a position that’s generally hit hard by injuries. What are we doing wrong?

On a semi-related note, Chip Kelly’s Eagles were the only NFL team last year to have zero players go on IR during the season. His sports science- centered conditioning program is believed to be central to that fact, and teams are starting to copy much of what he’s doing. At its core though, it’s just very intense physical conditioning, much like the Ducks would do.

Maybe Cav was right all along…maybe the solution to O line woes is just more bear crawls!

  9. Also did you guys see this?

    http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2014/07/beyond_football_helps_oregon_s.html

I’m torn. I think it’s a very cool service to offer the many athletes who won’t end up in the NFL. But, cynically, I can’t help but think it gives our team a competitive disadvantage versus a team full of players who have no “plan B”, and are selling out for an outside shot at the NFL. Or even just players who haven’t thought that far ahead, and are just focused on football. A non football career could be a major distraction for a senior.

To me it’s not unlike Riley’s desire to be a father figure. Very cool on a personal level and you have to respect what they’re doing. But it may have a negative impact on on-field performance.

    • It is fantastic that they are doing this. It should be a selling point to kids. The education is plan A, football is a pipe dream Plan B.
Even if they do make it to the NFL, it is a short ride for the majority. A good perspective from Shane Vereen’s little bro, who played for the U of Minnesota. Great kid.

      • I think it’s a good idea and I wish college athletes were more realistic – with notable exceptions even OSU stars don’t advance very far. In baseball, sure, give the rookie league a try – milb entertains small towns and the players are paid about half minimum wage but after a year or two of that, put your college degree on track with minor league baseball on your CV and get going.

  10. You’re good angry. everybody chill. the fact is many of us are hopelessly devoted to a college football program that is simply boring well over eighty percent of the time. at least nobody’s getting in trouble with the law for stealing sheep, beating somebody up outside of Impulse, etc. maybe that’s a good post topic right there? how often do the beavers surprise you, positive or otherwise?

  11. Nelson, Moreland and Jared Cunningham all coming of the bench in this kings vs hornets summer league game on nba tv. Moreland got a nice shift with along with that 7’5” dude Sim Buhlar or however you spell it and was pretty active. No burn for Berto or Cunningham so far in the first half.

    • “He threw 11 interceptions in his last four regular-season games, however, as the Beavers dropped five consecutive Pac-12 contests to close out the season.”

When the competition got better Sean didn’t step up. Let’s hope he does this year.

    • It’s a common FReeper spam when they try and go out and get a banhammer and/or disrupt forums. But since he’s attacking with whiskey’s handle (or something similar), I’m thinking it’s someone who is both a FReeper and a POster who was active at 3-4am.

      • A quick look over there followed by a quick google search shows there was someone active on both sites during that time. I’m not saying it’s him, but the signs point to it being so.

On another topic… I see someone there is griping about the DOD cost-cutting by not supplying Oklahoma with military surplus vehicles for rural fire departments (read: welfare). First, the DOD did not discontinue this program. The House of Representatives just forgot to renew it in their “we hate spending” ways. When they figured out they forgot to do their jobs (actually… when someone else figured it out… I shouldn’t give the HoR that much credit), they decided to pick on the EPA as the scapegoat for some 30 year old law that would have gone into effect after a couple years of phasing. Yup… politics as usual. The DOD didn’t know it was even happening. But all it takes is one state legislator getting notice that welfare will be cut off to his or her state, and they’re all up in arms with some political football… that lasted a couple days… until someone decided to do their job for once.

Not that it will stop stupid and its legacies from carrying on the dead football… that died a week ago… because it never really happened… and was ONLY for welfare anyway.

I seriously have to wonder what these fools are trying to argue. It’s bad if it’s free shit for them, but not if it’s for us… unless it’s also for us… but we still don’t like it if they get it… whoever “they”* is… even if we’re so cynical that we knew we were gonna get our free shit anyway and made a big poo for what we thought would be political points?

        * “they” is an univocal term used to divide and conquer and almost always meaning anyone who is not a WASP… or someone who stands up to such a thoughtless classification. See above for a perfect example of a synonym.

        • FTR… there were 48 states who probably got the same form letter Oklahoma got. I’m sure some states (ahem… Ca and Or… where wildfires are just a sight from 30k feet at night right now) might have a much bigger gripe about not getting this particular subsidy.

Why didn’t we hear from them?

      • Can Angry delete his posts without too much trouble? I don’t think it makes a good impression if someone new with a interest in Beaver sports comes in here and sees them.

        Bottom line, they are offensive.

        • I was out all day. I am going to investigate who that is, and possibly ban this person. It takes a lot to get me to ban someone, so congrats to this troll.

          • Angry,
Jack needs to be banned. The line in the sand is the N-word. This is the second time that arrogant prick has used that term on YOUR blog. As an African American, I find this particularly disrespectful and brought this to your attention through private email last time. I think it is time for you to reclaim your site from this idiot who rambles to himself and posts useless rants that are a waste of time. Please at least email him and have a private discussion about what is acceptable. Did you know that I was once beaten by skinheads in 1988 and hospitalized for nearly a week as a result? I have a front bridge and several scars to prove it. Do you want to guess what they called me when they were kicking me in the face? Are you going to allow this asshole to casually use that hideous term on your sports blog? Please step up and do something. His an embarrassment to OSU. You have my email if you want to discuss privately.

          • Okay… at least you finally say why you find it offensive. I can find a compelling reason to not say that word (which again, I have never used casually) here. But you still refuse to speak directly to me. This makes your whine a little disingenuous.

The direct answer to your question is no. Nobody here knew about your story because you have never said anything. I don’t know why it was asked as a question since you already know this answer. But now we do know.

Your threats of violence above make you no better than the skinheads (technically, Hammerskins) who beat me and a friend back in 1991. Yes, I know what it’s like to have broken bones (two ribs, two fingers and a nose… sorry to hear about your teeth… ouch) due to being beaten because someone hated. My friend was somehow unscathed except for being really sore for weeks. But it also didn’t escape either of us that the reason we were being beaten was only because my friend was what they sneeringly called an African American who should go back to Africa… whatever that meant. He, I and many other friends find that particular term offensive as well, partly because of this and many other instances where context made it obscene… partly because they all feel like they’re being called something other than what they are–Americans (and in many instances that is precisely what it’s used to mean). I also have a friend from Australia who absolutely despises the word and anyone who uses it to refer to him… and another friend who emigrated from Kenya and gained citizenship here long ago who proudly declares himself an AA… and he’s as white as paper.

But you won’t find me whining about your use of it here. And I will speak directly to you instead of whining to daddy about it with some false self-righteous superiority for all to see. That’s because I understand the context of your use of that term.

THIS is the discussion we should have had long ago instead of the constant name-calling and whining that has occurred.

So let’s agree to this… you and I find different words obscene and/or infuriating. Let’s agree to use them only when they are used in their literal definitions. My word’s literal meaning is what sets people off. Other than my (apparently poor) attempts to relay the sense that its use makes it a watered down joke of a term use by ignorant slugs and which empowers my friends (some who had the luxury of our experience… with all the same language… only the beating came from cops… some of whom were black), there is no reason to use that term here because the literal meaning really is just plain obscene. Your word’s literal meaning is very narrow. I would like it to be used correctly please.

I suspect you think this is silly of me to ask, because I’m an arrogant asshole… or prick… or whatever… and you’re not… because only you have ever had any real experiences and feelings. And I suspect you will probably defiantly use the term despite my request. But know this. I will take it to mean that you think you are not an American… not something more or less as you might think (because remember we’re eschewing context now)… just… not… American.

          • can I ask you an honest question? If it’s so offensive, why do some (not all) blacks use it as a term of endearment towards each other? Not trying to start a debate or a holy war here. Just asking

    • Because football is THE revenue sport which rules collegiate AD spending, and football coaches are only now transitioning away from the days when two-a-days in the heat with no water breaks followed by a four-steak dinner with butter was what made a man out of boys.

We’re not the only ones late to this party, but it does sort of go hand in hand with our newest accreditation.
      http://oregonstate.edu/ua/ncs/archives/2014/jun/osu-gains-state%E2%80%99s-first-accredited-school-public-health

Note that only six Pac schools are accredited under CEPH. I think USC’s overall medical school is accredited by ACCME… who SU dumped for LCME accreditation a couple years back. I’m guessing those eight are eight of nine who employ a sports nutritionist. Some school with gobs of money for the football team might be the ninth.

  12. Sounds like Eric Moreland is improving his stock during Summer League with the Kings. The other day he had 4 or 5 blocks to go with 9 boards against Charlotte. Today he had 11 boards. He and Jared Cunningham are both playing for the Kings.

    Connor Letourneau ?@ConnOregonian

Eric Moreland putting on a rebounding clinic. Up to 11 boards as Sacramento routs NBA D-League Select.

    Kevin Pelton ?@kpelton 13m

I want the Quincy Acy/Eric Moreland frontcourt to be a regular-season thing.

    • Bobby Gerould ?@BobbyGerould 8m

This game is over. Kings win. Big athletic advantage today over D League select vets. …thought Eric Moreland was excellent.

    • Good for him.

More underdevelopment? Or are we chalking up Moreland’s failure to lift OSU to another level to his inability to not puff?

        • Jack, do you think Moreland would have gained any benefit from playing for Tinkle for a year? And I am assuming Easy E laid off the herb, etc.

          • That’s a given. Tinkle would have 1-on-oned him to death.

Not that I would have commented otherwise… but did you see Tres’ pics of pops at the pool? Tinks is in good form. I’ve lost bad weight, and I still have some moobs… dammit! But family history does say I get that full head of highlighter white hair.

            I have Tinkle envy.

    • “Playing for the Kings” is probably a stretch in regards to Cunningham. I hope Jared saved some of that 2 million for a Rosetta Stone Mandarin Chinese course.

  13. someone wanna explain to me exactly what it is I did to get a ban threat? I’ve been in Central Oregon camping with my sons and gf until this evening and haven’t even been on here in a few days. WTF gives?????

  14. someone want to explain to me what it is I did to get a ban threat? I’ve been in Central Oregon camping with my sons and gf until Monday evening. I haven’t been on this site in a few days. WTF?

  15. mmmmkay. this is strange. I get home and my craptop shows whiskey soaked balls with some strange email when I come on this site? gofuckyourself.com or something? I dunno what happened as I was not home and to my knowledge no one was at my house. My apologies for whatever was written but I can assure you it was not the real whiskey soaked napkins. But if you want to ban me for something that was out of my control, then so be it.

          • Dude! think! Do you know anyone on any of these sports blogs?

Or did you just leave your IP open?

If that’s the fact, then angry needs to talk to Provo about his site security.

          • I’ll I know is I was fishing/ski tubing with my family since Friday and I got home Monday evening to see something about me being possibly banned? Quite honestly, I’m confused as shit. I hadn’t even looked at this site since Thursday I think.

          • It’s your neighbors… or someone parked in your driveway. They’ve figured out that “password” or “1234” is your WPS key.

Or… it’s someone you trusted to watch your house while you were away?

It is a Duck thing to do….

          • No one watches my house while I am away. There is no need. Only my mom comes over to feed the pets but that’s it and she’s pushing 70 and has no clue how to use a computer or the internet. This whole thing is just bizarre. I left my craptop at home. No need to take it cause there was no internet where I was at. I’ll change my key for my wireless router. No, the password wasn’t 1234. But either way I’m a little uneasy now. Not knowing if someone uninvited was in my house. But they would also have to know the password to my craptop as well. Guess I’ll change that too. Yes, I do have neighbors directly to the east that are IMO “sketchy”

          • I’d be wary of them.

And then I’d look over the other side at the neighbors who don’t seem “sketchy’ at all.

You got hacked by someone because you left your wifi on. You can probably track your history and find out if things were ordered to your house… to be delivered somewhere else.

Sorry if that freaks you out, but that’s the way they operate.

I can’t imagine how this conversation must look to someone straight from the 70’s.

          • I don’t have neighbors to the west. And until the recent “sketchy” people moved in on the other side I had no neighbors except for across the street. But my sons play with their kids and imo they are decent folks.

          • my ISP is wireless. I have a dish on the side of my house. Does that make a difference? Sorry, but I’m dumber than a box of rocks on this wireless crap. I can hook up a wireless router and get my craptop hooked up to it, but other than that………………….worthless

          • I have to knock off now… it’s gonna be hot fucker tomorrow, and I have to spend most of it either outside or in my truck.

            So what’s different?

If you look for how to recover your browsing history (because someone with half a brain would delete such a thing), don’t do a Sys Recover. Look to your browsers first. If all you have is Firefox or Chrome, then you might be able to see your history without aid from anyone who can see their code… which is everyone.

If you run IE… I… and nobody but someone in India… who thinks you talk funny… can help you.

          • I can’t sleep now.

            Thanks.

Dammit! There’s not much you can do. You can know that whoever it was took out his FReeperness between the 3 and the 4 of the AM last night. That is didn’t involve a more sinister purpose leads one to believe that you were mirrored or just simply hacked by some teens.

And now that I’m watching ESPN… pitch Puig slow off-speed shit if you want to keep him in the park.

          • Puig and Kemp cannot lay off breaking balls. Good news is my SO I and I will be at AT&T park a week from Saturday to watch my dodgers take on the vagiants. And according to the post all star break rotation Donnie baseball has set, we will get to see Clayton Kershaw pitch in person. I for one am excited for my first mlb game.

          • Dude… you made reference to evil’s name by adding it to a weird prefix like va. That’s strangely amusing… and yet it’s an adolescent jab at someone or something not worthy of an adolescent jab.

          • So… what’s the damage?

Excuse me for being a cynic in the wake of the great liver/boner/Duck thingy that occurred… well… always. But the noise was pretty obscene. Are we sticking with the “I got hacked” narrative?

  16. I got nothin on this one. Ban me if you wish and think I’m the guilty party Angry. I have more important shit in life than this site. But let me ask you just one question. Why would I donate to your cause then turn around and make some offensive comments (which I still have no idea what they were) and risk getting banned? Seems counter productive and a waste of money doesn’t it?

Peace out everyone until football season if I’m still allowed

    • It might be one of your buds who’s been on your wifi before just trying to eff with you. Think of an a-hole that’s been over that would know to try and taunt Jack.

  17. I enjoy Whiskey’s caustic humor and strong opinions, If he had his own “Mike Parker” episode the other night. I think it’s fine to forgive and forget with the understanding that it can’t happen again. If someone highjacked is account, that needs to be figured out also.

Although there must be some price to pay for me now having the N-word and Deep Purple burned into my linguistic database. Never thought I would read those two nouns in the same sentence.

  18. Angry,
I find Jack’s casual use of the N-word deplorable. This is not the first time he used it on your site (you may remember that we discussed this in private once). As an African American this offends me to no end. He has hijacked your site and made it utterly unreadable most days. He should be reprimanded or banned. I am embarrassed that this guy shares the same Alma mater that I do. Thanks.

  21. I have looked at this site for several years now, mostly because of the knowledgeable posters in relation to Beaver football. For that I am very appreciative, I feel I have a greater depth in watching the games. Unfortunately, it has unmasked the mistakes as well. My hope going forward is that AB sticks with what it does best. On religious discussion, I think we can all agree that Satan’s son resides at the U of O and plays football. On political discussion, the evil empire, Nikegon, Hole U, and TGU ( Toilet Gasket U ) are all monikers of the U of O. Don’t fret, fall camp is coming soon. This is the year the Beavers win in LA ( first time since I was 5 ). Mannion will be stellar in the Rose Bowl. Maybe even edge out the Ducks for a spot in the playoffs. Go Beavs

  22. Angry,

Ban Jack. His use of the N-word (again) has no place on your blog or any other for that matter. He is an arrogant asshole and your blog would be much better without his pointless rants. It is time for you to step up.

Thanks Kristickliver. But the word is what the word is. In certain contexts, it’s obscene… as the Duck who pasted it all over made it. I’m not afraid of typing the word in this context. I will never use it in the same way Ducky did, nor will I ever say it in any context… since I have no context in which I could ever use it. But I will never ever (well besides this once) say or type “N-word” either. That reeks of chickenshit loathing and gives the word only one context. A word is only a word until it’s pointed at someone or a group of people. If you want to go back and read all my posts, you will find I never did so.

I did not now nor have I ever use it casually. And I did not attend Nikegon.

      • For further context… I can be a dick or an ass or just plain stupid. And you like to set me off on those rants. If it wasn’t for Ducks like you and boner, I would probably just talk about the topic at hand. But you just gotta keep poking.

        Don’t you?

Yes, there are times I can just go off on some tangents. But that’s borne of discontent for the status quo, and I’m looking for some intelligible conversation for some 50 different subjects that come up during the day or week… some of them actually related to the current topic… some of them brought up by others but left hanging.

Instead of being some bruised wimp who likes to poke, why don’t you sum up the energy and thoughtfulness to tell me precisely why some of my rants are illogical. Or do you think I have nothing to learn? And don’t say it’s because you think I will refuse to learn or am too stubborn to do so. That’s a coward’s way out. That’s what the sum of the rant was last week. Someone just tell me WHY I’m wrong for once instead of whining about me saying something (or many things) dumb. If you don’t like that some topics are OT, then steer me to something on topic with something thoughtful. It’s simple give and take, but there are long stretches when neither are attempted here. And then it devolves into you or boner poking me and everyone else getting to watch.

        • Jack, I would love to kick the living shit out of you someday. Angry, don’t be a pussy. Ban this arrogant pice of shit and reclaim your once great blog. You allowed it to be hijacked by this idiot filtering through his bullshit looking for useful commentary is tiresome. Angry, perhaps you could mentor jack and he can start his own blog.
          Thanks, Longtime reader.

  23. Angry, I did not see the posts that got deleted so I am not sure what went down. I am sorry but I have a particular bone to pick with people who use that word, even black people. Jack’s posts related to beaver sports are worth reading, but the rest is just seems like mental masturbation from a drunken lunatic which I usually pass right by. I guess I will check back in when football camp begins. I do rely on your site and beaversportsnews for all of my sports info so I should let you know that I appreciate your dedication, but sometimes it seems like the lunatics are running the asylum. I would love to have a beer with you at a game sometime and thank you in person for your hard work. I am sorry that your site got abused, you don’t deserve that.

  24. What I can’t understand is why people have been cool and self-regulating for 5 years, then suddenly start to act 12 years old this week?

I don’t believe Whiskey was hacked or anything. I mean the IP is his, and as soon as we all called him out he miraculously returned from a camping trip. It’s far-fetched to believe someone hacked him and came to AB to post that word rather than say, hacked him and went to his bank account and took his money. But sure, maybe he was hacked, and that is all true.

But the bottom line is just end it here please. Go back to self-regulating so I don’t have to police–this is one of the best features of the comment area and you’re all ruining it.

    • I like how Whiskey’s first comment after coming back from the trip was under “Whiskey Soaked Balls” but then the same comment was written again a minute later under “Whiskey Soaked Napkins”

I hate when I forget to switch my screen name back….
