    • Can’t really praise him either. Kelly sucked worse than Mannion. We can defend a one-dimensional team so long as that one dimension isn’t the QB. The best adjustment of the night was to take the ball out of Kelly’s hands.

  1. I turned on the game just in time to see the pick six. 5 Beaver turnovers?!? Riley mismanaging time again?

The next two are going to be ugly too. Best thing for the program – not the players on this team – would be an empty stadium at the last home game before the annual prolapse against UO.

  2. Oh, and good thing Riley et al never worked on the run game when the schedule was manageable (cue injury excuse). Who’d ever think you’d never need a balanced offense in the back half of your schedule?

Did we witness one of the most pointless 6-game win streaks in OSU football history this year? I think so.

How about OSU v. San Jose state in New Mexico?

  3. What bothers me the most is I still don’t know what bowl game the Beavs are going to. It is hard to make travel plans on short notice. Is it better to go to a minor bowl and win or go to the Rose, Fiesta, Alamo or Holiday and lose. I say Vegas baby!

    • “The first game of the college football postseason will once again be the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, as it has been for the last five years.”

I say the New Mexico bowl. Get this fucking season over with ASAP.

  4. Wake the fuck up Ed Ray!! Fire Boob DeCarolis!! He sucks ass! Atleast care about OSU’s remaining fans while you still have them if you don’t care about sports. BDC must go!!

  5. Guys, please hop on facebook and help me leave some valid criticism on the OSU Football facebook thread. The athletic department facebook football monkey is deleting my messages as fast as possible… mediocrity is ingrained.

  6. Riley, Banker, Cavanaugh could inspire their own series of “Who’s Next?” videos to compliment the ones used in player recruiting…Langsdork doesn’t warrant. The guy is inert but for his salary.

Riley Video – montage of annual diatribes on finding identity, shit eating grins independent of game outcome, looks of frustration, loser’s posture, gum chewing, answer-free visage as team falls apart, interspersed with clock mismanagement and record of “banked” timeouts.

Cavanaugh – Intersperse videos of lack of run blocking, failure to block four man fronts, failure to pass block against PAC schools, with infamous bear crawls and rants with foul language bleeped out. Curious, did this short, fat man, who looks not the least bit athletic, ever play sports?

Question: Has he ever considered taking advantage of the training table diet and abundant exercise equipment offered by his too-patient employer? What was his primary experience – teaching Hawaii run-and-shoot offenses how to pass block in the WAC?!? Are we surprised OSU can only pass block against weak competition?

Banker – Examples rich. Editing down to succinct montage will challenge any video editor – “What to cut?!?”

  7. We are lucky this is the Pac12 instead of the Pac10. If it was a few years ago we’d be looking at a 2-7 season. Maybe 3-6 if we could bully Arizona. Pathetic.

Face it Oregon State is flirting with bottom tier status.

  8. So Riley says every game against a decent team is like the Super Bowl but has he noticed he is like 1-24 in these games? I thought Riley said he would retire when he knew he couldn’t get it done. It is pretty clear Riley isn’t doing anything of note and won’t. Neuheisel said the loser of the UW-OSU game is likely going to miss a bowl since Stanford is probably out of thd BCS picture. Riley could be the only coach in history to have made a bowl game in Week 7 and then done everything perfectly bad afterwards to lose a bid by the season’s end.

Fire BDC and next AD can look at football and basketball problems.

    • Terrific Saturday night because I didn’t watch or listen to the fb game and will spare myself the misery of tonight’s men’s bb game. Of little notice – OSU volleyball hasn’t won a single Pac-12 game – they did defeat Prairie View A&M, however.

I don’t get Ed Ray – theOSU athletic department is a viable organism, took too much time with the Tressler thing but was on solid ground when it did. Ed Ray is tight with Ohio State – is he oblivious to what is going on at this OSU? Why?

      • I’ve mentioned the non-revenue sports. Women’s softball and hoops and men’s soccer are bad too.

Softball gets a pass for now since Berg is in her first year and deserves time to take an already talented team and make them… um… talented. Men’s soccer has had what… one winning season ever? It feels that way.

T&F and swimming are left to their own devices. BDC would love for them to be successful because that success would show on his job. But he’s really just letting those programs sink or swim on their own.

We’re still lucky not to have Lynn Snyder as our AD… I guess. At least he blew up programs on purpose. Both our hoops teams blew up in monumental fashion under BDC’s watch.

Rueck was lucky enough to be able to start with a clean slate. It took him years to rebuild a program that was blown up, but he should be doing something more positive this year, his fourth. Coach Rob had to deal with the same mess plus shell-shocked surviviors. So last year was what Rueck gets for this year. Bu this is the year for Coach Rob to fish or cut bait as a coach. Next year will be Rueck’s turn if we don’t get more than four conference wins again… half coming from the worst hoops team in the conference.

        • I also give Laura Berg a chance. I watched a clip of wbb vs. sac state and have some hope – the posts looked good and the guards looked good getting the ball to them.

        • Laura is going into her second season and lost a ton of seniors off of last years team. Softball is going to be very young this year and it’s going to be a tough season. Essentially we have two vets, Ya Garcia, who will be playing shortstop this season, moving from second, and Natalie Hampton, a big stick but inconsistent. Both are team leaders.

Give it a couple of years from now, let this team mature and we’ll see.

    • He may as well be because he is granting extensions for these error riddled performances and has us stuck for a decade or longer. Same story with Robinson. Buyout is extreme because of BDC being a horse’s ass. There are so many reasons he deserves and needs to be fired or Oregon State will be screwed otherwise.

  9. I would think first Mike Cavenaugh needs the boot. He came from a University of Hawaii team known for pass protection versus weak opposing teams, and didn’t run the football. Well, what do you know? This is exactly what is happening at OSU! OSU has always struggled in the trenches with Mike Cavenaugh especially with recruiting depth. If the military academies can consistently recruit lineman who can block under their height and weight restrictions, there isn’t a reason why OSU can’t?

  10. I will be at Reser the rest of the weekend! We just need a few wins and we are in the ROSEBOWL baby!! That’s what I’m talking about. Drivers seat in the NORTH! Come say hi if you are even BEAV enough! Bleeding orange. I hate Halloween.

  11. Why the heck is OSU still employing that fool BDC? Are we such gluttons for punishment that we want to have the most sucky leadership possible in the AD role? Nothing will change until we get rid of the problem. FIRE BDC!!!!!

  12. BEAVER FOOTBALL DVR PROBATION..Effective 11-16-13

I successfully implemented the probation program last year for men’s basketball. It remains in effect as of this date. The basics are:

    1.) DVR the game
2.) Do something else in that timeframe. For example, we went to see Gravity.
3.) Start the game upon return. In this case 9:30. Watch until there is no chance of a win. In last night’s case late third quarter. (This is subjective, depending on your optimism/delusion level) fast forward for final score and delete.
4.) As an added optional enhancement, dispose of the Oregonian sports page before bringing the paper in doors. Our blue bin is conveniently located.

This program pretty much eliminates the tortuous angst of watching a slow speed three and a half hour train wreck. The fast forward feature plus an early exit compresses game time misery to less than two hours. Try it!! JB

  13. This comment from O Live is exactly the reason that anything meaningful will not occur under BDC’s watch. The older fan base is content with being mediocre and don’t belive that OSU will ever do better than mediocre. Reading this made me feel ill.

    “beaver84
I am a 84 OSU Graduate. Most of the Riley doubters must be much younger than me and/or haven’t studied the history of Beaver football. Riley has built the Beavers into a nationally respected team from what used to be one of the laughing stocks of Div I football. WE were the team that everyone else used to use to pad their schedules. Now we represent a team that can play against pretty much anyone on any given night. Of course we have up and downs, but you must look at the reality of OSU before blaming Riley. HE and his style of coaching is why we get ANY decent players to commit to OSU. Even if Nick Saban came to OSU, I guarantee the results wouldn’t change much. OSU cannot compete against the big name schools in terms of recruiting, EVER. Other than a few good players from the state of Oregon, Riley and crew usually have to work with second tier talent that comes to OSU because they were not given scholarships by bigger name schools. Riley and staff have done a great job developing what they have to work with and have produced many NFL players. For example, do you think James Rodgers & subsequently Jaquizz would have even considered OSU if UT, A&M, Baylor, etc would have offered him scholarships? No way. OSU has a great reputation for the program due to Riley and that is why we can woo a some of these overlooked gems to “cowtown” Corvallis Even with such a handicap, we have kicked ass on some big name schools over the last 13 years AND have been to a lot of bowl games. OSU football is exciting to watch, and YES very nerve wracking when they blow opportunities to win. Riley works with what he has. He can run a balanced attack, we just don’t currently have a Simonton, Jackson, Bernard, or Rodgers for him to work with…or perhaps as talented or as big of an offensive line as in the past. Any way….if you want a scapegoat for the last three games, it should be Mannion. Great kid with lots of talent who has made a lot of mistakes the last three games against teams you need to play with minimal errors. He got banged up against Stanford and lost the touch. Very similar to Derick Anderson when the Beavs were 4-0 and let the nation in passing. DA got murdered by USC in game 5 and lost the next 4. Riley didn’t throw the interceptions agains Stanford…it was bad decisions by Mannion. The two in/near the end zone killed us. If we scored on those, we most likely would have won….and remember, Stanford was ranked like #6 in the county at the time. Same story against USC and ASU. If Mannion can erase his jitters and not hold the ball so long in the pocket when the rush breaks through, we can beat Washington. I know the coach is ultimately responsible, but if the program gets rid of Riley, don’t expect anything great to happen over the next decade.”

    • Even if Nick Saban came to OSU, I guarantee the results wouldn’t change much. OSU cannot compete against the big name schools in terms of recruiting, EVER. Other than a few good players from the state of Oregon, Riley and crew usually have to work with second tier talent that comes to OSU because they were not given scholarships by bigger name schools.

It’s that mindset that will ALWAYS keep OSU as a second tier school. His post is 100% bullshit and absolutely false

      • I have a hard time believing it’s not a Duck parody of some Beaver fan. He makes too many factual errors for anyone who claims to be a fan… starting with his claim that Riley built this program rather than just maintained it… not to mention how poorly we did the first time Riley left OSU… in the lurch just before signing day btw.

Also, what fan shits all over the players (more than once) in order to praise the millionaire who is supposed to be leading them?

I think bendbeaver has something to say about this dolt’s spelling of a certain QB’s first name.

  14. It’s cold at Reser. If the Beavs explode on Washington next week like they should, we can still go to a BCS game by winning out. I think Vegas has us as 21 point favorites and probably because they all know that Mannion will be mad this week. I think that they are going to throw it to Cooks more, take the hand cuffs off of Mannion and really air it out the rest of the season. There is nobody left on the schedule who can cover Cooks, and Hamlett, and Mullaney, and Woods, all at the same time. I saw that Utah QB could throw it easy on the Ducks and Mariota has a bad knee so actually not worried about the Civil War because no dual threat QB. I also heard that Vaz has been taking a ton of snaps in practice in a new formation with two qbs, so that’s gonna be a tough wrinkle for other defenses to prepare for. I think Riley has been saving some trick plays for these next games too so there are going to be another big advantage down the home stretch.

    • they… us… they… I, I, I, I, I….

Mixed pronouns which end up concentrated on self makes you just sound like a self-important penis head.

  15. Heard that Keith Price is out for the remainder of the season, can anyone confirm?
Without Price the Beavs should demolish the arrogant huskies.
Does an 8-4 record get us the Holiday bowl?
Yep, add another year to riley’s contract!

  16. Unfortunately last night I set the limit at Beavers under by 21. The most they ever got behind was 20, so I saw the whole painful thing. Amazing that Stanford and USC were able to knock the O out for the season. And maybe not perfect, but the D didn’t allow one offensive TD in the 2nd half. ( I don’t consider that chip shot after Cooks fumble a real offensive drive. So I have to ask, if we beat W this week, will Riley be holding the ball for Charlie Brown at the civil war?

    • It’s only a Charlie Brown moment if the fanbase buys into Riley (for the hundredth time) and there’s excitement/meaning for the game. I don’t think it’s a given OSU beats Washington, even if Price is out. And I don’t think anything will be on the line for the Civil War.

  17. Isn’t this season ironic? Our defense at the beginning of the season vs our defense now. Our passing offense at the beginning vs our passing offense now. Being a Beaver fan leads to being bi-polar.

  18. Gotta love the bowl ticket announcement we get in the mail from OSU. It has options for the Rose, Alamo, Holiday… etc. You fill it out and mail it back to them, telling them how many tickets you’d like reserved for each bowl in the event we get invited.
Obviously they printed these months ago but it’s just another little tap to the nuts to remind donors that we’re not going to any of these bowl games.
    Come on man!
