    • I have to agree. Too many injuries as well. All I hope for is McM and Nall to remain healthy throughout. Hope we win, but a loss wouldnt surprise me.

    • I only saw Arizona a few times and they looked horrendous. I’m basing it off that, us being at home, and OSU being in most games with good effort. Could be totally wrong.

      • Against UW, they looked prett competent. I think being down to their 3rd string QB really hurt them. Just our luck, their #1 and #2 guys are back now

        • Their right side of the oline is out as is their best D player and their RB, they are using WR for running backs at this point. This is the “who has the best backups game”. I too am nervous, it seems like a trap to me.

  1. Mannequin challenge, free glow sticks? How can Beavs lose?!?

    https://twitter.com/BeaverDam

I am thinking OSU won’t have the offensive consistency or defensive depth to win this one.

Enjoy Decoud’s last two games. There’s a guy I wish had one more year. Not just to make what should be a good D even better – jeez the CBs would be lockdown – but for him to enjoy some success that I think will come to a young defense that has game experience, talent, is not injury-depleted, and likely benefits from some JC influx.

  2. Texas loses to a putrid 1-9 (now 2-9) Kansas team. Charlie Strong’s seat is so hot, it’s gonna fuse to his butt. Don’t think he survives this one.

      • No… Clockwork Orange was phallic, cool and… well… orange was in the name.

Nikegon players wear a decidedly grellow and vulvic insignia… and they’re so far from cool that they shot right past hot and burned out.

  3. the mighty sec playing some real juggernauts today.

    Tennessee-Chattanooga
    Alabama A&M
    Texas-San Antonio
    Louisiana-Lafayette
    Western Carolina
    Austin Pee

and lest we forget LSwho paid South Alabama 1.5 million to go away only after being ridiculed for not wanting to reschedule a loss to Florida after a hurricane cancelled the original game date.

  4. Decoud has to do better on that play, interception waiting to happen. Looks like they are going after Solomon, I hope they get him a few times.

  5. I bash the P-12 Network a lot, but the announcers tonight aren’t bad, they seem to have actually prepped. I didn’t catch the very beginning. Who are they?

  6. Finally, we have a way to decide between our co-offensive coordinators:

Whoever called that Bolden sideways run is NOT the offensive coordinator anymore.

  7. It was an obvious play also. You know the RB is not getting the ball being back 9 yards deep and once Boldin went in motion at full speed and tight to the line, you could guess fly sweep. I also hate fly to the short side in most cases.

      • Love GA’s interviews on both PAC and radio; same as when aunt patty says he doesn’t want to get fined but so much more classy. Chappell was trying to keep the QB up and probably got schooled by a quick thinking acting job. Live n Learn.

      • His arm was hooked around, couldn’t let go. You can tell he is trying to slow down and get away. The refs have to start doing a better job. They messed up the chop block (offensive lineman was disengaging), the defensive delay of game (lineman moved laterally and they are allowed to talk to make shift calls), that bs late hit call, etc. Happy that the team is fighting through this terrible officiating.

  8. I would really like to see the defense stop Zona quickly on their first possession. I think it could be a big difference maker in the game.

  9. Pretty good half…. need to keep grinding and win the second half, finish strong. I don’t expect McMaryion to throw 90%completion but need another 7-10 completions to keep the defense guessing.

  10. At least the UA fans aren’t completely blind homers:

“What was Jones thinking there. That just makes us look like shit heads playing dirty because we suck”

      • He was a jack-of-all-trades but master of none guy last year. He lined up everywhere. Probably trying to figure out what to do with him. This year he’s been absent kind of like villimin.

  11. I kind of thought that was a good opportunity for Choukair to try a FG that was more than a chip shot. He if makes it, it’s a nice confidence thing and a 4 TD lead. John Madden would be rolling over in his grave (I know he’s not dead yet) with the way coaches don’t take points these days and going for two when it’s not necessary.

    • Terminology is wrong. It’s not “Targeting”, it’s “Diving into the defender”. And it’s not “Referees”, it’s “Blind men in stripes”.

  12. So we have tangible progress.

3 wins vs 2 last year, and 2 of them in conference.

A 4th win would be a nice cap to the year, but I see reason to be very optimistic next season as they get more bodies.

      • At least there will be more options. McMaryion will be an upperclassmen. Moran will have been in the program for 1-1/2 years and not redshirting (hopefully he won’t have to play in the CW), Luton as a JC xfer, Garretson will be a senior.

All better than the options the previous two seasons we’ve had (we hope)

  13. GA still didn’t praise McM too much in that post game interview. They’re looking for every reason not to play him and not admit McGiven messed up.

  14. Shit, three hour game. It’s nice when a team can run the ball effectively. They were really using the clock also. Very 72 Dolphins tonight. Two effective running backs and mostly strategic passing.

  15. From AZ Desert Swarm:

“On the one hand I’m sick of being embarrassed
On the other Oregon State has a track record of getting our head coaches fired”

“Ha! I said I hope RR gets the Stoops Ore St road loss treatment tonight!”

    Yikes, turned, they have…

  16. That one horrible offensive 3 and out in our own endzone aside, offensive playcalling was great tonight, and so was McMaryion. Ducks will be feeling overconfident after the Utah win, and I think the streak gets broken next Saturday.

Best part is that we had a TON of recruits watching that performance.

  17. I didn’t pay close attention, does the TE even run any patterns in this offense or is it max protect on every pass play? It would be nice to slip Wily-Matagi out on a screen or something against the Ducks unless it’s too big of a liability. It’s kind of bizarre to consider the offense plays with one less skill player than most teams.

        • Next year we’ll have Togiai and transfer Quinn Smith, along with Matagi. Would be nice to pick up a TE commitment this weekend from Carson Terrell, but I also think he’s a mission candidate. He seems to really be enthusiastic about the Beavs though, so he might be a guy to keep an eye on.

  18. First day of the Sling app worked perfectly. Went from the Pac12 network over to ESPN to catch the end of USC/UCLA, no hiccups, no lag, nothing.

I’m going to download the networks apps to see if they air football games for free too.

        • Nice, the wife and I are thinking about cutting the cord and go to the streaming thing. We pay a lot for a ton of channels we don’t watch. At this point it doesn’t seem worth it to keep cable if I can get pac12 on a stream somewhere.

          • It’s going to be cleaner and more efficient in the future, more so than it is now. So you might as well change to it now and learn all the interfaces and not spend on a set top unit.

But it will likely cost as much as cable within a year or two. Or you will get substandard service and interruptions if you use products that refuse to negotiate with the monopsonies created when net neutrality is shot with malice.

      • I use sling also, just for football games. I had an issue with games not being available today. I called them and they said they updated the software for Android users and were working on it. Half an hour later it was good to go. The guy actually sounded like an American too, pretty rare these days. Overall, I’m happy with them.

        • Try googling “ATDHE” and explore the family of sites you get. Keeps shifting as to which one is best to watch the Beavs, but I’ve only had to rely on Internet radio maybe three times the last couple years.

          • Nice, do you stream it on a laptop? Is there anything you have to download?

I have the kodi app on my Kindle TV and use the ares wizard to load different builds on it. There were a couple that had the pac12 early in the season but they all went down so I had to look elsewhere.

          • Nothing you have to download. Totally free except for battling the ads. I have AdBlock, but you see the squares with an X to delete. So I just delete three or so ads (have to be done in order, but you’ll discover that), and then you get the game.

If one site in this family doesn’t behave well, just go to another. Occasionally you have to shop around in that way.

Works for pro/college football, basketball, and other sports, and soccer worldwide. Enjoy!

  19. Did anybody else think our offense looked the best that has looked in the GA era, after Bolden was knocked out of the game, and with Seth sidelined already.
It’s like we no longer felt like we had to force feed the ball to two guys and started to spread the ball around more, with plenty of straight up the gut running plays.
Maybe it’s just that Arizona is that bad, but thought Bolden was reckless tonight when he was in there, and the team settled down with him out.

    • Yeah, but it’s just 1 game so it’s hard to say.
Passes to Collins always seem like a waste. They’re always short where they hope he breaks it yet he never does. A lot of wasted downs with that type play. Without that option, more guys were involved on better routes.

  20. I didn’t get to watch the game, but that was good win. This team needed a blowout win against a D1 school. It just validates their hard work. Interesting that that reception average is so high. Was McM making a bunch of long passes or were there a lot of yac? Nice to see Villamin finally break out, hope he keeps it up another week.

        • His move on that play was great if I am remembering the right play…was heading inside, broke it back outside and was so wide open it was ridiculous.

that’s the kind of stuff that can really hurt a terrible Duck D that struggles to implement Hoke’s system. They’ll likey watch for it, but it sets them up for something else.

  21. Great win last night. Helps with recruiting and fans buying in. GA has kept the players faith through the struggles.
Badger friend with me at the Northwestern game yesterday took a shot at GA yesterday. “Glad he is gone.” I reminded him that Dave Aranda was brought there by GA and turned a good D into a great D. I told him that OSU is very happy he ditched the Badgers, he hates it when I say that, and although the record looks bad, the play and players are much better. AZ score validates that.

  22. Just re-watched the game. McM was really really good. Great clock management, great spreading it around, great long balls, great short balls, plus he throw one away showing great QB intelligence. Our offense opened holes you could drive a truck through. Villy came back to life. Pierce is getting better every game and will be just as threatening as Nall in the future. Very happy for this TEAM having their season look effort pay off. We are a tough team with a bright future.

  23. I thought the comment about clock management by GA was interesting, they literally almost ran the clock down to zero on every play. I’m not sure if they did that against Wazzu and Cal (especially when they had big leads).

They conscientiously were going to give Zona as little time as possible to score points. The Beavs only had 8 possession the whole game. I like the thoughtful strategy, of course if you can’t make a few first downs running, it’s not going to work.

    • It will work if the QB has an eye on game management. MM did that very well for the first time ever last night. He even gave on the option and faked well enough to draw the end a couple times. Brought a couple tears of joy.

Got the O lined up and ready. Checked the play. Checked his reads. Looked over to the side a couple times for audibles because he saw something, and he had time because he was managing the game.

      It was nice.

  24. I sat in the Terrace last night and man it was amazing! Padded fat theater seats, large heaters to stand under if you get cold, free Beaver Dogs passed out, free Beaver gear, free candy, beer (gotta pay for that), bar tables to hang out, kids chasing extra points, all kinds of good food…Best game experience I’ve had including Club and anywhere else in Reser, and I’ve sat all over. The only negatives are to many 30 ish guys getting shitfaced and behaving poorly, and you have to walk to the main concourse for the restrooms. Oh yeah, and tickets aren’t cheap. I highly recommend you go if you get the chance.

  25. Anyone else notice that OSU has not worn black helmets this year? It is because they lack all branding. Made no sense to GA and was why he added beaver logos to the orange helmets.

Black helmets should make their debut this Saturday when the Civil War slump ends & they should do so with beaver logos. Beavers are on the rise.
