  1. Back to my accustomed position #1 I hope GA took the kids to Disneyland last night so the memory of this weekend will not be too bad.

After a slow start, due to lack of interest, SC pours it on in a replay of last week. 42-7

  2. USC 56, OSU 10

Stating a prediction now that Oregon State will never win a P5 road game under Andersen. He’s that bad as a game manager. Doesn’t even know why one of his best wide receivers doesn’t get into a game and makes no statement acquiring as to such for 4 quarters against UW while we are getting beatdown and clobbered at home.

First year we bring in a real coach OSU will get a P5 road win. Until then teams will continue to beat us left and right by 30 points even if they bring their ‘D’ game. This is nowhere in the ballpark of what Ray promised Beaver Nation. Beavs have become the Worst P5 program under all talk AnderPants.

    • I hate to do it and I sure hope I am wrong but I thought the same thing….. unless we get some cheap points during garbage time…:

  3. Kody Kempt for Iowa St line through 3 quarters 15-22, 299 yds against Oklahoma Sooners.

On the way to the biggest upset of the year if the score holds and Sooners don’t get the expected home cookin.

Even Iowa St gets our rejects and makes them good.

  4. Luke Del Rio becomes starter at Florida and did well until injury.
Marcus McMaryion becomes starter at Fresno State and is doing well.
Kyle Kempt starts against #3 Oklahoma and pulls the historic upset for the Cyclones.

We should have kept the quarterbacks and run off the coaches. Anderpants and McGivint might be the biggest cons in Oregon State football history. Trust the process, my ass.

  5. I would love to see Tyner get more touches. He looked good in garbage time and i think with this shit team why wouldn’t you try to get the fastest player on the field the ball. Oh yeah mcgiven.

  6. This game will be over in the first quarter. Trojans will score 21 unanswered points. The Beavs will answer with an early 2nd quarter stop and then TD and hold the condoms to 0, which will look hopeful when we score a field goal going into the half. Then USC will score another 42 points. Just the pulverizing an exhausted D. This is where the prediction gets bold. Andersen will show his mismanagement of his staff and he’ll fire Clune because he’s so scared of actually putting the work into learning how to run an offense he’ll think that by taking over the D will make things work out.

  7. Just saw the Kempt news. Wow. Never had a strong opinion on him either way (had him ranked as my #4 3-star in my rankings), but clearly he’s good if he did that damage vs Oklahoma. Gary misses again. Holy shit he’s awful with QBs.

    • Kempt made some great throws, especially the routine throws that Luton was struggling with so badly to start the year that completely break the offense. All the quick hitters to the sideline, dump-offs, and wheel routes to RB’s out of the backfield were well-placed and consistent, especially in the 4th quarter.

I couldn’t believe it when I recognized the name and looked him up.

It’s not just that GA is bad at managing QB’s, it’s that he has been so consistently and obviously bad at it his entire career.

      :(

  8. Interesting comments and the frustration is clearly showing (to state the obvious).
    Perhaps we might consider:
    1. Accept as givens that GA’s problems and McM’s wonderfulness exist so we don’t continue to beat them to death (posting wise).
    2. Recognize GA’s going to be here a few years, like it or not.
    3. Focus therefore on how in the hell can we get rid of the current OC and DC in the short term. What if anything can we do to push that agenda?

    Open to comments.

  9. I notice every time Jalen Moore is in the game the secondary is awful, yet there he remains…

GA won’t know why Hudson is benched.

  10. Gary’s decisions look worse every Saturday.

The dude thought Seth, Luton, Blount, and Garretson were better than McMaryion and Kempt. Frightful QB analysis from a HC.

  11. Ugwoegbu fucked that up trying to point out a false start instead of being ready. Im over that guy one of the young guys has to be better.

  12. This would be another good chance for people to ask a “hard question” of GA.

People should tweet this at reporters to see if we can get someone brave soul to ask.

Oregon State transfer QB's have now made starts in the SEC, Big12, and the Mountain West this season ?????— Nick Mitchell (@Nick_Mitchell03) October 7, 2017

  13. I was a big fan of the Andersen hire based on how he was able to turn Utah State around but I am having my doubts know based on his analysis of all the QBs. Thinking back further, was anyone else responsible for the USU turnaround besides Gary?

  14. Since there’s only a football game on in name only, how about discussing how Anderpants and his band of stooges leave town?

With a 12 million dollar buyout, we know he’s not getting fired unless it’s for cause. Any way to pressure him to leave? Resign with negotiated lower buyout? Magic curses? Go Waco on his ass and have the beavermobile drive up and own his neighborhood blaring Boots at 2 AM?

  15. Oh, why is a coach not calling a time out there? Even if you don’t get it you can draw up another play. I’m not a coach. I’m I wrong?

I miss Owens the kicker he kicks for Iowa State I think anyone know why he left?

    • I understand that calling a time out there is not an original concept but I also don’t make millions of dollars and get a fat PERS package why in the world do coach’s needs PERS

  16. Good god. What a dumpster fire GA has created. I bet any other staff would field a more competitive team with the same players.

  17. If it wasn’t clear to anyone that the problem is the offense this game is the football gods beating you over the head with the proof.

  18. Until they can complete a deep ball its going to look like shit. The d just creeps up and congests everything because they know there is no threat.

    Where is tino?

  19. DG has looked pretty good since the INT. He’s had 2 TD’s dropped and has been composed under pressure.

O-line has been the weak link.

    • That 2nd TD pass was a terrible pass to an open receiver. WTM could theoretically caught it, but that’s mostly on DG. First TD was a nice throw.

    • Has been all season. I don’t think this O line is good enough to do what last year’s line did, at least not yet. They lost 3 starters from last season, some of which had interest by the NFL. OSU certainly isn’t in a position to just reload on the OL.

  20. This is fascinating: Owens was great in 2014 under Riley, and is great this year.
    http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/546872/garrett-owens

His two bad years were under this staff. (2015 was okay, but he declined over the prior year in both stats and confidence). I don’t feel like these coaches instill confidence. It’s like they’re looking for reasons to fuck with your head. Comment based on how they handled Nall, Hodgins, McM, Owens, et al.

    • Did I make a promise?
Garretson has 1 INT in the span where Luton would have 2 or 3, so…hard to say Garretson has been any less accurate.

  21. I’m really surprised that the idiot that roughed the kicker was wearing some scary facemask thing under his helmet. Super surprised.

  22. Lol @ OSU roughing the punter when there is no need to even go for the block on such a short field. Their kicker was most likely going to kick it out of the endzone for like 30 net. Awful coaching.

          • Before what play?

You send one guy who will always get stopped by the three up men, or you send the house, hoping to overwhelm those three.

He was probably shocked he made it past them.

      • I’d tell them no rush…let USC kick it out of the endzone. Going for a block there is stupid/desperation/high-risk gambling due to impatience, which sums up GA. He tries to disguise it as “aggressive”…okay, Gary.

        • It was one guy.

You always send at least one guy.

Should that one guy have had a contingency for the one time in all of my years watching football that I’ve seen someone go clean through three unmoving up men?

I don’t know. I’ve never seen it before.

    • That was a weird play.

Have you ever seen three up men let a single defender get to their P?

I’ve seen O-linemen intentionally open the gate for a DL to kill their QB, but not that.

  23. I think this game proves that USC is very, very overrated this season.

Also, something tells me that if we had McMaryion and a healthy Nall, we would be tied at this point instead of trailing 21-3.

  24. So is that TD on the D?

They get the stop, force a punt, ST runs into the kicker…have to come right back out and stop a bunch of 5-stars. D’s fault? On twitter guys like Travis Rice are still blaming the D…

  25. Why don’t they bring an rb over to help the right tackle? Lauina is getting destroyed.

Shades of the Texas DE at the Alamo bowl

  26. Why are they running such long developing plays when USC has athletes with superior sideline to sideline speed?

    Fuck u mcgiven

      • I’m not sure if you’re serious or using sarcasm, but in case of the latter…

My comment wasn’t a knock on Nall as RB, it was a criticism of the mismanagement and lack of rotation among the RBs this season by the coaching staff.

  27. I’m completely ignoring the score. I’m just watching to see if the Beavs can sustain some offensive drives. The defense is fine, I’m not concerned about them. They’ll be even better next year.

  28. If you’re going to run it there, why use Tyner and not Johnson?
Johnson just bulldozed a few plays earlier and clearly looked in beast mode.

  29. is under center too hard for the QBs or something? you are trying to get 2 yard yet the running back is getting the ball 3 to 2 years from the line of scrimmage

  30. Wonder if Barnes hanging around at practice is to assess who the deadbeat coaches are and force GA to fire some since he can’t fire GA.

  31. Ah, the days of when I was laughed at for saying the D wasn’t the problem and showed potential, and the O was the main problem. *sigh*

  32. 2nd half should be fun. D got 3 turnovers, O turned that into 3 points…

D has been on the field a lot…this is going to get ugly, then the D will get blamed by guys like Travis Rice. It sucks people just look at D score/stats and end their opinion there, because it gives McGiven and the goons more rope.

It’s time you guys bombard the media on twitter and ask them to question GA about all the QBs he’s run off. Start today. Be relentless all week. Don’t have me as the only one doing it. We need an AB army pressuring the media to ask/demand answers to that. And most importantly, did GA learn anything from his errors in running viable QBs off the roster?

  33. Gotta end this mindset that we can’t afford to fire GA. We most certainly can, by using all that money we saved by not firing Riley.

  34. The coaching staff is awful but Garretson would be horrible even if he played for Alabama. I can’t believe that he was ahead of MM on the depth chart. It’s not his fault, but he is not a D1 qb. Good job DA. He is the worst qb we’ve had in 20 years.

    • That’s untrue.

Garretson was better than this when he played at USU, and LDR sucks just as badly at Florida. Garretson would be just as successful at Fresno as MM is.

The neat deal is Kempt. He was underrated by everyone, including his current coach. And he still gets up every day and plays the game. Good for him.

        • Exactly. Someone went wrong with Jack where he can’t see logic or facts anymore. Must be in love with GA or something because I’ve heard every possible twisted excuse.

Jack, what’s going on over there, buddy?

          • You haven’t even given me a chance to rail on GA yet because you’re stuck on this false narrative that’s distracting to everyone and everything.

I’m not going to directly or tacitly allow myself to falsely critique someone. If I did that and read it back, I would be angry with myself for wasting my own fucking time while completely ignoring the real, tangible issues.

        • Get real. He was likely going to transfer if Riley stayed. MM would have done so eventually as well. LDR would have stuck around and backed up Kline. Pensyl didn’t look like a typical Riley next coming, but he could have worked some game time in eventually.

          • If he transferred out of Riley’s or Andersen’s system, he still would have been a quitter though, right? Quitters can’t have neat deal stories.

          • NiceBeaver, Kempt clearly left OSU because he wanted to be closer to family, pet his dog each night, and eat home cooked meals, which doesn’t make for a coward who is running form adversity, but a neat deal!

I love that Jack concludes all those guys would have transferred out under Riley, too. Lol.

Kline? Kline was never even a commit, was he? He went to JC in early 2014 and choose that path over the Beavs. Yet, Jack thinks all the QBs who were actually on the roster would be sitting behind him…

          • They certainly can’t have neat deal stories for our team.

So I won’t pretend his neat deal is what’s wrong with our team… or has anything to do with anything.

          • If you’re going to say that a coach is wrong for not starting someone, and that someone transfers… THEN you start a false narrative about how someone would be better for the same team despite that someone leaving for whatever reason… BUT you make up the reason, and that reason is that he’s butthurt and wanted to run away… even when there are instead a multitude of mature, rational reasons for people to make life decisions… then don’t get upset that you’re called out for any of it and ridiculed in the process.

          • I will say that having all summer to think about it then committing to a team in fall camp is giving your word to your teammates that you are there to stay.

As soon as he left, it was apparent the coaches made the right decision. I like to think he didn’t intentionally screw his teammates. That limits the possible narratives… that I’m not going to spend two months driving into the dirt… because I no longer care about someone who doesn’t want to be here.

If it’s true he just took his ball and went home, then I lose a ton of respect for him. I choose to respect him, given the lack of evidence.

  35. GA never believed that he could win this game anyway. Tough to gameplan for USC’s talent. Cant blame the coaches for this one, just working like crazy to get our guys better…blah blah, no changes will happen just trusting the horrible process to horrible results.

  36. Pac-12 halftime telecasters mention Kempt and how OSU could use a QB right now…lol.

PS. Villy should get 0 snaps per game. Why is the guy on the field? Never saw coaches with more of a hard on for a player.

  37. Regarding this GA buyout talk:

    1. Didn’t NE pay us that buyout in order to take him off our hands? Pretty sure he was signed with us through like 2021.
    2. Take the money saved on that buyout and use it to buyout GA.

We also make a ton of money via the TV contract and bowl sharing revenue. I think baseball and WBB are profitable at this point, right?

There’s money for a buyout. Most lists I’ve ever seen have OSU ranked 40th to 50th in revenue. Yet we always claim poverty. We’re just cheap, not poor. Big difference.

Correct me if I’m wrong on the finances. I am piecing this together from memory. But I don’t think we’re poor…

Also, best case: GA retires for health reasons. He looks like shit, looks burnt out, and he has to realize he’s going to die soon if he’s stressing out as much as he says. He might go the Urban Meyer path and retire a few years. That would be best for all.

  38. This game was winnable for nearly any FBS staff other than The Three Stooges, aka our head coach and coordinators.

Also, getting jobbed by wtf reviews again.

  39. I give up on Beaver football. I’ll always hope they win but I’m not watching or going to the games anymore. Outside of tuition I will never give another dollar to this institution.

    Go Coach Petersen, go Huskies

    • Yeah… those calls have bugged me all year. I first saw Nebby do it from the 35 (not theirs), and I laughed at it.

      Then we did it.

      Such a weak play.

  40. Really, make great catch then lip off & get unsportsmanlike, Anderson should be in his ear screaming, that’s perfect example why they stink!

  41. In case anybody hasn’t been paying attention, Garretson has been very accurate with his passes in this half, and guys have been catching it as well. Villy had a drop early that was right in his hands.

      • We scored after the seth taunting call.
So USC has a blind kid playing long snapper. He played 1 snap last week, and they bring him in again after a late USC touchdown. Snap is good, kick is good, but GA had his team play no defense on the play, so we basically conceded the PAT, as long as the blind snapper could get the snap off. How many more times will USC get to pull the neat deal story this year for the free extra point?

Oh yeah, and Tino Allen fumbled the ensuing kick off return. Ooops…

        • I haven’t looked at their schedule, but they’ll get to do so against Cal, Nikegon, CU and Zony. I would throw ASU in there as well, but they always play USC tough for whatever reason.

  42. Awesome, now we get to hear from Mike Parker all week about how things are looking up, because we outperformed expectations. Never mind the expectations were we lose by 34.

  43. Playing Tyler for 2 last meaningless running plays burns his redshirt for certain doesn’t it? That seems dumb at this point. He hasn’t played since Minnesota.

WHat is aggravating is the reality that USC was obviously vulnerable or sleep-walking through the game, and the Beavs did nothing to change that fact either way.

  44. Garretson couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn first. But looked better in second half. Now that should carry them forward from here and they should win the rest of their games going forward… oops. Sorry… I dozed off there and was having a dream.

  45. I’m curious what others think if you actually watched the game to completetion. I think that we could have scored another 13 points. 6 points for the two missed field goals and 7 points if Garrestson didnt fumble the snap. I think the defense is way ahead of the offense. Offense needs to play better period. GA still needs to fire McGivens. And Smalls our TE recurit now says we have two silent commits.

    • Sounds like traditional ol’ OSU football: an irrelevant team looking inept against a league foe, mid-day on a Saturday with no one watching..,

Andersen has an obvious option…(Baldwin)…it’s not like he’d be stuck w/out an OC until the off season…

      • I think we’re going to have to settle in and don’t expect any changes the rest of this season. GA is practicing the Phil Jackson method of coaching. He’s going to let his coaches and players suffer through the adversity and figure it out on their own.

  46. When I look at teams like WSU and OU It makes me think of an old saying. You can take the person out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the person. Said person has to choose to not be ghetto anymore. WSU and OU choose not to be losers anymore and did things to change themselves internally so the effort would manifest externally. OSU still has ghetto mentality.
