I know it's pretty early, but someone is itching for some baseball.

Does anyone buy this?

Wow, don't follow the Ducks at all, is this logical? Don't understand the Beavs falling off the charts, they lose some, but have recruited well. Though I don't put much faith in the recruitng rankings either.

Beavs were way off anyone's radar with the recruits that became the '06 and '07 teams, then suddenly started recruiting very well, and the teams have not been as successful. But still very competitive.

Can anyone answer why oh why the Beavs NEVER have a solid power hitter, not one. We have decent ones, but never a good one. Just one guy once in awhile who can hammer a home run would be fun. And I do realize this is not Casey's game, but one guy in the line up cerainly would not redefine the entire small ball game. Do we try and fail to recruit these guys? Or like big men in hoops there is just not that many to go around?? Just seems like Beavs should get one once in awhile that's all.

The Beavers will be very good. Those rankings are clueless.

I'm not sure if anyone saw this story from last week, but ASU will not be post-season eligible.

Quote:
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State's baseball team will vacate all its wins from 2007 and is banned from the postseason in 2011 under NCAA sanctions for numerous violations.

The NCAA ruled former head coach Pat Murphy and several former assistants made more than 500 impermissible recruiting calls and failed to promote an atmosphere for compliance from 2004-08.

Among the penalties, some self-imposed by the university, are scholarship reductions, recruiting restrictions and limitations on coaching activity during practice.

Arizona State, which was placed on three years probation, also had to vacate 44 wins from 2007, including its Pac-10 title and College World Series games.

Murphy, who was fired last year, was hit with a one-year show-cause penalty.
