  1. Jeff Hendrix belts his first career HR in the top of the 9th. 3 run blast. Beavs lead 10-1 going to the last of the 9th

  2. Spring ‘game’ is ridiculous. How many wasted opportunities does this program want? Need to play an actual game…

      • Its pathetic, wasted opportunity. Autzen packed, Reser empty. Just terrible marketing. USC can run a practice for a spring game, OSU needs to play a game and take advantage of the opportunity to market itself.

        • I have zero use for football in the spring. People who make it a big deal and some wonderful kind of show of support are just not going to get my vote for being anything but losers. It’s tough enough to find a reason to say many regular season games are compelling enough to attend anymore. Why would anyone pretend a glorified practice is even remotely compelling?

I might feel a little different about something kicking off the fall camp, like some schools do with hoops and Midnight Madness. At least that marks an end to the wait for a season to begin. The spring events are just an end point at which time we just wait some more for real football to occur.

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go do what I did yesterday.

          I’m gone fishin’.

  3. best part about going to corvallis today, I picked up 3 game worn jersey’s for $50!

#8 Aaron Wright [white jersey with pac-10 logo on front with his A. WRIGHT on the back] (the guy who lost his Fiesta Bowl ring, but got it returned to him!!!) http://blog.oregonlive.com/portlandcityhall/2011/04/missing_fiesta_bowl_ring_to_be.html

#21 Dennis Weathersby 1999-2002 (same jersey era as the Fiesta Bowl year, but white)

#19 Narrowed it down to either Sammie Stroughter or Jovan Stevenson. Can’t tell because they tore all the names off of the jerseys and there was no Pac-12 patch and they were both similar body size)

Some people got tim Alexanders jersey, Chad Johnson, TJ Housh….(however it’s spelled)

That part was pretty cool. A lot of people just wanted numbers and didn’t care about the history aspect behind it nor who wore the jersey….

  4. Watched on Pac 12.. Either our line is brutal or Obum is going to be a serious force coming off the edge. He blew up 3 pass plays and would have had 2.5 sacks today. I thought Jarmon looked good as well.

  5. Im going with a bad line until proven otherwise. A 7 foot high jumper cant possibly be a formidable a d lineman, can he???

  6. Schultz throws a DP to start a new game; on to the 10th 2-2 tie. Note that Ice is now at C.
Morrison a leadoff single, now to the top of the order.

    • Now four in, bases still full and still nobody out.
Thanks to infield singles, bloop double, IBB, HBP……….Beavs had a little luck and speed on the basepaths to get this far. Top of the lineup making a decent showing here.

  7. Here are my takeaways from the spring showcase(definitely not a game)

    1. Del Rio is the future. He got more looks than any of the other QBs. Looks the part.
    2. Jarmon could be ready to make an impact this year. Looked good.
    3. Running game is still a work in progress. Very dependent on the health of the o-line.
    4. Boom looked good in the pass rush. His long arms help him keep the OL from locking him up. Should only see the field in passing situations only. Too light to be in run situations. My guess is that he’ll look good in non-conf but then struggle in conf games.
    5. Dline looks good. Athletic and no holes in the middle.
    6. Steven Nelson should have a standout year. Whoever the other CB is, is going to see a lot of action.
    7. Defense looked good.

Interesting points made by the commentary crew about the state of offenses. They were saying that most offenses in college football are pure progression, meaning the QB just goes through his reads, regardless of the defense. OSU does the pro style, adjusts to the look of the defense.

  8. Wow, get this, the dawgs were all ready to sweep Utah as they were leading 10-1 going to the b4 and utes score 7 in the inning and now lead, 12-11. Now tied at 13-13 in the b7

  9. Nothing for the Beavs since the 3rd, just a single for Conforto. B6 still 5-0. Fry giving up just one hit and fanning 3.

  10. End of 8, still 5-0. Fry pitch count beginning the eighth inning was 70 per Parker, could get a complete game on less than 110 pitches.

EDIT: Fry at 83 to start the 9th., could finish with less than 100.

  11. Huskies win, 21-17. Teams combined for 42 hits.

Peterson error and two ground outs put a bear on 3b but Fry strands him.

  12. Fry gives up a two out walk but that’s it for the bears and the Beavs sweep. Fry with the CG one hitter. Can’t be a better lefty tandem in the nation than Wetzler and Fry.
