Sam Noyer — High Interest. No offers. Local QB.

Gabe Reid — Low interest, many offers. Utah guy who’s dad played for BYU and he has a Stanford offer.

Jeremiah Ieremia — Moderate interest, many offers (Washington is his best right now).

Morian Walker — High interest, no stars, no offers. He’s considered a good prospect (UCLA and USC have some interest).

    • Apparently these Kings fans never watched an OSU basketball game. I too was awestruck by Moreland’s blocks and then dumbstruck as he tried to dribble in the key only to lose the ball against the first defender who approached him or how about clanging an easy layup of off the backboard for the umpteen time or maybe always missing at least one key free throw at crunch time (sometimes two). Is my bitterness showing?

  3. Hold on there. If Ieremia has an offer from OSU, that’s his best offer. That being said, he and Reid probably end up at BYU.

    Walker and Noyer are 2016.

    • Agree. I remember when Ralph took a young OSU squad to get their butts kicked by UNC (twice if I remember right) and Wake. They ended up being a pretty good basketball team.

      • This is one thing that confuses me about college hoops. In college football you can play Directional Geographic State because just not losing makes you appear great at the end of the year. But in hoops you need to be able to say that when you played down to someone else’s level that “someone else” was nothing but top 50 teams. I understand how logistically you end up with scrubs for your season ticket holders to watch every year. But playing scrubs turns you into a scrub yourself. With TV being what it is today, and with OSU being a school whose arena is bought and paid for, we can afford to lessen our hoke stands and make it a road show for a year or two in order to earn those home and home return dates for the fans, if for nothing else.

        I disagree with the sentiment that scheduling body bag games instead of challenges is less risky. RPI doesn’t say so. The possibility of losing to either is not equal. And the fans are the ones who suffer most.

    • Agreed. I made a list of opponents for the men thusfar alongside conferences, and we are doing better than last year with hitting opponents in power conferences. We only had 2 good games last year, DePaul and Maryland. This year, we have at the very least 1 SEC opponent, 1 Big East opponent, and 2 out of American, SEC, or Big 12. Plus Rice is at least a name, even though they aren’t good at all.

      Like someone else said, they should schedule some road games. They have two gaps to fill with 4-5 slots: Nov 28-Dec 11, and Dec 20-28. Attendance is gonna be poor for that second gap, so hit the road! Especially considering that there’s only one true road game, and that’s against Quinnipiac. Speaking of which, I haven’t the slightest clue why OSU H&H’d with them, because they are a low major and OSU is high major. Anyway.

      Go to the ACC against a NC State, Miami, Georgia Tech, Clemson, or Wake Forest. Go to the Big 10 and play a Purdue, Indiana, or Illinois. Texas or TCU in the Big 12. Hell, even go to San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, or Boise State in the Mountain West. Adding of course your Portland/Santa Clara/Pepperdine for flavor. All of these teams could do a home and home. Your team is battle tested, has a chance to improve its RPI, and you get a chance to recruit that area a bit and get your name out.

      I’d have an assistant to the AD make a bunch of placards with schools on em, try to set up a game, and if they balk, next in line.

    Weren’t we just reading a month ago that he wasn’t likely to be eligible until next year?

    • according to Connor, the coaching staff is expecting that Cameron Oliver will be a Beav when Fall term starts, which is a surprise to me. I was under the impression that he was gone. The linked story talks about scholarship limits too, and what space the Beavs have available for signing new players. I didn’t realize we’d have soooo many juniors next year. Not one of the better classes at OSU history….

      • Oliver wavered for a nanosecond, but he’s been pretty solid. I think he realizes there’s a lot of floor time for him at OSU with very little downside in terms of expectations. The first group to lead OSU back to the dance is going to be legend.

    • Excited to see Sean play this year. If the line can get some push for the run game and some of the young guys step up at WR, he could have huge year.

      Slick Rick is really great on TV. Smart and funny. I can see why he was a great recruiter, even if he did fudge the rules a bit. Putting the law degree to use I guess.

      • Yes, he will be an impact player as a frosh. He can catch and shoot with the best. He can break down a defender and get to the lane then finish or dish with either hand from 10 feet in. He looks long and slow, but he also takes the ball away and then blows by people… with slo-mo spins and crossovers.

        It’s weird watching his tapes. I know that what he’s doing takes great ability and athleticism, even while I watch each and every play. But his style makes him look like he’s just out for a stroll in the park with great plays just rolling off his fingers.

    • His height is 6-4….he’s not a tall guy for a TE. So he’s right that he most likely won’t translate to an NFL career, but it’s not far fetched for him to have a solid college career on top of getting a degree and prepare himself for the real world. They’re COLLEGE athletes not ATHLETES who happen to be going to college.

      Your dooshy Duck routine would have given my stream of consciousness salad a good bit of acid… and a lot of cheese. Ducks like osu4life/liver/Linus/Kristick (or whatever 10 other names he uses under the three different emails he also uses) just don’t know what to do with their Duckpidity on rival sites. But you have the ability to make it all about you while pointing fingers.

      And the world gets to start off the week with you trying to ruin another thread… on a rivals site… with name-calling and dooshy Duckpidity… and a fair bit of irony.

  26. Hey, everybody. I’ve been following and observing these threads since baseball season, and decided to post for once. I saw the discussion about Ryan Nall and what position he should be playing. I’m a proponent of Nall playing LB, like it seems most folks on here. The other day I came across the 2014 OSU Football Media Guide and perused it. According to the Media Guide roster, Nall is playing TE like most feared he would, unfortunately.

    How do we think Petersen is gonna do at UW?

    Of all the new coaches in the Pac, I wonder how his system will work and succeed. RichRod, IMO, hasn’t quite hit his apex, but I don’t see much in terms of potential for his system beyond a couple second place finishes in the South. Mora is a great fit and will go on to do great things. Dykes is a disappointing choice to fit at Cal. They should have hired Andersen or MacIntyre when they had the chance. Oh… they had the chance… and failed. Dykes would fit at ASU… where Graham would suck eggs if it wasn’t for his being able to recruit in a talent rich region. MacIntyre has an uphill battle, but he is a great fit at any Pac school. Still, CU is in OSU territory for the depths their program became. Shaw has proven himself capable, but SU’s long term standing will likely end up being Riley-esque once Harbaugh’s players filter out. I think the Pirate has a process which will bear fruit in the long term, but he also brings growing pains in the short term. Sark sucks. Helfrich isn’t Kelly.

    So will Pete set himself apart in the Pac like he did in the WAC? UW has a history of drawing some of the biggest miscreants there are/were in the Pac. And I’m not talking kids getting drunk and doing stupid stuff. I’m talking about some of them being really abhorrent people. Pete seemed to retain discipline through a couple really bad eggs in his time at Boise. Will he avoid that altogether in Seattle? Will his system pay dividends from day one? In ten years, will he be talked about as they talk about James… sans recruiting stuff… with recruiting stuff?
