Yawn.

Maybe Riley figures out a way to use Chris Brown now, since he didn’t know how to use three backs (simply saying “go on the field, Chris Brown” was too difficult for Riley, apparently). And this is his last chance at a bowl, though I don’t think Riley will coach the entire contract so that’s meaningless in terms of extension. Can Mannion fool scouts and raise his draft stock vs a so so defense? These might be the only intriguing reasons to tune in.

31-23 Washington

  1. I keep hearing how good Shaq Thompson is, so I’ve been interested to see him. I dont think the Huskies will bring the house when blitzing since their D-line is good enough to pressure Mannion without any help. Beavs will have trouble breaking long runs vs the Huskies and the passing game just isnt goot enough to put up enough points this week. Defense will need to keep the field short for the Beavs to have a shot.

  2. Not meaningless in terms of buyout though. I expect Poopy Riley returns for this one. 2 of 14 in last Pac-12 games is still really awful. If they win then they deserve an at-large bowl but Petersen would have a ton of heat with a loss to a declining Riley so the Huskies most likely do enough to win. I am more interested if it is a relatively focused OSU effort or turns uglier. I can see the Beavs losing this by 10+ if pass happy Mikey reverts to losing habits. Riley almost always shits himself when it matters in Seattle.

  3. I think we see an inspired effort by Riley today, this game means over a million bucks to him. He will not retire while on contract. He doesn’t believe he’s a quitter and will see his commitments out to their painful end. Either fired or runs out of contract, so this game means bucks. He’s got his grandkid’s financial well being to consider. Would you give up on a millions? Neither will he. Inspired coaching today, maybe the players respond well too. I’m guessing a good game to watch, outside politics not considered

    • Well I think he’s sick and looking shot, so I don’t see him coaching much longer due to health reasons. If he’s healthy he’ll milk the contract.

      • He said in that 1080 interview he doesnt really think about retirement and feels like he has more energy for coaching now than he ever has, but when asked how he’ll know whem its time to retire, he said something about when his wife tells him it’s time. So now we know, we need to direct our bitching at her, not him, if we want to get things moving.

    • Unless a miracle happens, and Riley regains his early career winning season ways, Riley WILL retire. Why? For the simple reason he isnt stupid. He keeps losing in conference and each season further tarnishes his legacy record. He is going to see that, and realize he must retire, just to be well remembered.

  4. I think I’ve seen that fucking nissan sentra mony mony commercial half a dozen times already in the first quarter of USC/UCLA. It’s not cool. It’s fucking stupid and I think I speak for everyone when I say we are sick of seeing/hearing it. If I see it one more time I may have to go burn down the local nissan dealership.

    • Of course the interception wouldn’t have counted because Obum tore the helmet off of the lineman, but at least it would not have been a TD.

  5. Had it with this staff. No wonder Romaine walked out of the building. Bring in a new coach!! And lose the porn stache Mannion. Please!!

  6. Pass, pass, pass,…….burn a timeout…here we go, thanks Garrett
F’n Read needs a TO to tell the team we need to down it inside the 5.

    • It’s weird. The Beav’s D has looked good at times this year (even while the stats weren’t backing that up), then all the sudden they get gashed here and there. The D should be pretty good given the personnel. Seems like an epic coaching fail…tackling and poor position.

  7. Good grief.

    Two big plays, two touchdowns.

    Mannion’s ridiculous mustache.

    Terrible decision to punt

    Worse execution on the punt.

    Wasted timeout.

Abandon the run after grinding out a couple first downs.

I should have gone razor clamming tonight.

  8. Dear Mike Riley,

14-6 or 14-3 is better than 14-0 you dumbass. He did the same thing against ASU last week eschewing a 50 yd FG. Guess what? You have a kicker that can make that kick!

    • Outstanding post of the night, but I failed as a father and made my son watch the game live. At least he had his smartphone to fuck with the whole game instead of watching the sheer incompetence.
Oh well, onto the CW where the biggest question about game day is when to start the smoked prime rib the night before so it’s ready by about 2pm.

  9. Wake up Oregon Staters…This staff has run its course. Downtrend is obvious. Change the culture. Get the football version of Tinkle. He is out there. Riley legacy has been burnt to the ground at this point. End this nonsense!

  10. Riley has lost the team. Literally with Romaine leaving program and clear as day with the performance tonight that the players aren’t motivated to play well for Riley. When it gets to this point there is no choice but to change direction and seek new leadership. BDC owes OSU a public apology for his assinine contract after we pick out a new coach.

  11. Mannion…blah blah blah…Mannion watches film….blah blah blah…Mannon three year team captain…blah blah blah…Riley is still his coach.

  12. Stupid decision not to kick the FG might loom large in this game. I actually would have been ok if they went for it when Kostol kicked it into the end zone, but the 4th and 3 closer in was a no brainer in the 1st quarter.

  13. DeCarolis needs to be fired this offseason. Do a search for an AD. Massari can interview. Then have AD tell Riley we are going in a new direction.

  14. Come on, what a shitty sequence of play calls for a 2 minute offense. Mannion should have refused to run that play on 3rd and 1……I thought he was a football junkie?

    • Gentleman Jim Wilson with the common sense suggestion that Riley call two plays in the huddle, 1 for the first down and the next ready to go as soon as the sticks are set. If the first fails you still are in the same situation for the punt.

      • Often TO’s are required to kibitz with the very special Bruce Read; his wisdom is so very valuable! On other occasions I’m sure time is needed for Riley to review the plans of Garrett and working out a way to relay them to the O.
I’ve stopped trying to figure out Riley’s TO methods.

  15. Could be a one possession game if Riley kicks the FG instead of going for it on 4th and 3. UW will probably start the second half with a TD and the Beavers will fold like a tent.

  16. Hire Matt Wells!!!!!!!

He led Utah State to a 41-7 smashing of San Jose St and is 9-3. His star is rising. This is the time to snag him before others do and while we can still afford it with a buyout.

    • We got on earlier this year. I can’t remember which game… SDSU? I think it was Ortiz coming unblocked. Or maybe it was Strong and Ortiz recovered the ball.

  17. Dockery with a great catch and then Mannion remembers he’s Mannion and throws a pick. Honest question, how was that not illegal touching on the fumble? You can’t fumble, run out of bounds, come back in bounds and pick it up. Unless they said he went out of bounds before fumbling

  18. Have to imagine Wells would have beat Cal and WSU at home with these same players. Both inexcusable losses unless heading for the cellar is fine. We already are last in the North. Wells would have had this team atleast 7-5 and possibly 8-4 this year. Anywhere from Vegas to Holiday Bowl. Riley is main reason for another losing season. This team not making a bowl is plain due to poor coaching.

Cut the cord and Hire Wells. Program will instantly be on the rise again and actually relevant.

  19. well look at the bright side. No shitty bowl game that no one will be attending and Barney Fife doesn’t get another year added to his contract.

  20. I too would take Matt Wells over more Riley bullshit. His defensive coordinator is top notch so we get a major upgrade over Banker too.

  21. Another throw down the sideline hoping for an answered prayer on 3rd and 4. Obviously Brown not in good graces, Haskins in that series.

  22. Wow, what another shitty sequence of play calling. No sense of urgency, no hurry up offense. You finally run twice in a row when the game is almost out of reach? Can someone help me here????

  23. I think that’s a terrible call on the 2 pt conversion UNLESS you have a QB who is a run threat. They ignored Mannion and blanketed the receivers.

  24. Going for 2 was stupid. You could have had a chance to win with a TD and field goal instead of tying and losing in OT like Riley does in Seattle. Always dumb to chase points early. With 7 minutes or less than you might do it.

  25. Nice senior QB….throws a pointless one yard out that almost gets his RB killed and then holds on to the ball for three years and takes the sack. Is there an ancient edict in the “Book of Riley” that says that OSU can’t have an athlete play QB?

  26. So let’s take a quick look around the Pac. ASU is up, USC trending back up and will soon have more schollies (though will be capped by Sark), UA is up. Cal is trending up and competing. WSU is sporadically competitive, nearly upset the Ducks, and has incoming talent. Cal and WSU both generally seem to have a “puncher’s chance” in a game at this point. Peterson is in his first year at UW, installing his system with somebody else’s players, and he’s knocking on 7-8 wins and soundly beating Riley tonight.

So why is it change at OSU just has to be so impossible and any change HAS to be worse than Riley? Riley is in his 14th season, has a 5th year senior qb, a senior-led defense…ALL his own recruits, all in his system for years..all his spring and fall camps…and he’s capped at 5 wins.

Over the last 5 years, which programs are trending down besides OSU? Stanford this year.

Why do so many morons think OSU can’t do better than Riley?

    • Because it’s the old guard and their 28 years of losing mindset. For some reason, they think that losing Riley is a return to the dark ages.

  27. I think this loss is good. Riley always rises (as in only rises) to the complete heat of hell pressure to do something (such as coaching)–the ASU win for example–so we can get to a minor bowl and the contract extension, blah, blah, blah.
If this pattern holds true we will beat UO next week. Go Beavs (next week)!

    • Unless you go back to Belotti and pre-Kelly coordinators and offensive schemes, I cannot see Banker stopping Oregon. What’s the lowest he’s ever held them to? 36?

And Riley will likely throw the ball, which plays right into UO’s hands.

ALL week will hear from Riley what a great tradition the CW is and how proud he is to be a part of it…the opponent will be talking about wanting to win it.

    • Not happening. No current duck senior has lost to the beavs and it isn’t happening this year either. It will be 8 and counting. The ducks are a well oiled machine right now. And the beavs are well, you know. 54-13 is my prediction. Close the book on this year. I won’t be watching next week. Boycotting the civil war just as I did last year. Not worth wasting my time when I already know the outcome and result. Besides, it’s my youngest sons 8th bday so I’d rather spend it doing something with him than watching this bullshit and sitting here getting pissed off. So FUCK YOU Riley!

  28. “They need to beat the Oregon Ducks”

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    ha.

    • I can hear Riley now: “There was some good stuff out there. I thought Damien Haskins looked good. Jordan Villamin had another good game. Sean threw for over 300 yards, there’s some things to build on for the civil war.”

  29. They take so long to run plays. I don’t think any sense of time is drilled into them. I noticed after a catch Villamin was just sort of sauntering around, why in the hell is he not sprinting back to the huddle? BECAUSE IT”S NOT COACHED!!!!

    • The whole team just saunters… Those fall practice videos showed Garrett and Bray telling the players to sprint back but haven’t seen it in a game for years. Everything is slow. Eff Riley.

  30. Riley has 7 straight losses to Ducks which will get worse and has loat 4 out of last 5 to Huskies and 12 of last 14 in Pac-12 overall.

This program is in the shitter.

    • Yeah for some reason I started looking at open running lanes when Mannion drops back to pass. I think even Mannion could get some yards. With the type of QB’s Riley insists on, it’s like playing down a man in today’s college football.

  31. As the play clock approaches zero (as it does every freaking time we snap the ball), the defense gets to time the snap and thus crushes our blockers. I cant stand to watch this system. Petersen has owned Riley all night. Started with the first drop to pass/sack and then they ran away with it.

Id support any coaching changes. Thing is, the Pollyanas who still show up to the games and clap in the post game would continue to support the Beavs the exact same if a coaching change were made. There is no downside to jumping on a coach like Matt Wells. We will continue to see the old guard support the team, but hire a coach who can ingnite excitement and then see the bandwagon fans(and their money) come out of the woodwork.

    • Absolutely right on the clock. Opposing Ds must think it’s Xmas every play. Have we ever gotten a play off with 6-7 seconds remaining?? The fake handoffs in the 4th behind by 24… WTF? Anybody actually believe we’re running??? Clueless SOBs.

Also, #10 is a POS. Jawing at the D after dropping the pass. What a waste.

    • In the locker room banging that fatty, I mean hottie schnell. Riley has no issue with players impregnating females “close to the program”. All good. Shit, those offspring are allowed at practices and to play on the field. OR, maybe Riley is trying to get future players with football DNA????? RILEY IS A FUCKING GENIUS!!!!!! NO ONE IS THAT FORWARD THINKING!!!!!!

  32. All those mediocre Bowls Riley has gone too, those extra practices have really helped the program advance on the fundamentals, like false starts, dropped passes, proper double team blocking techniques, etc

  33. “The beavers do have the Civil War…” – Mike Parker

Anyone catch the chuckle in there? He couldn’t even say that with a straight face

  34. Riley will lose 14 straight to the Ducks if we let him. Enough is enough. We have to move past Riley or we will never grow. Pull the plug.

  35. Opposing coaches, “Riley does tremendous things with the program much respect.”
Translation: I would never get away with recruiting that kind of talent.

    • You know they are spouting bullshit with statements like that. Because unless you just got in from Rigel 4, you know he has never done ANY “tremendous” thing. Never won the league, etc….

They “respect” him because he will never say anything bad about THEM, and will usually be easy pickings. In evaluating coaches, the opposing coaches are the last people you should talk to…

  36. And I’m wondering if Mannion for all of his acclaim will end up under .500 as a starter for his career? i think Vaz won some of the games during their best season. It has to be close and it will be another loss next week.

  37. Smith with 3 catches and 15 yards. From the player perspective, Smith’s year is one of the most surprising and disappointing to me.

If he’s not setting the team back 5 yards on a false start, he’s not doing much of anything. What happened?

I hope Del Rio/Vanderveen and Villamin/Jarmon/Bolden/Dockery have a significantly bromantic summer and play pitch and catch all off-season. First year starter’s obviously struggle in Riley’s system, they’d better put in the work.

So, 5 wins with this squad. A new qb and largely inexperienced, unremarkable OLBs next year. I know the RFR LBs have potential, I don’t expect them to get enough time even if they are clearly better players.

This was a waste of a fucking season, and only a coach with uncommon contract security would fuck it away like this. Pathetic.

    • There was also a time when Beav Tight Ends used to get serious YAC and not fall down on the first bump from a safety who weighs 50lbs less. Hamlett has not been stellar either.

  38. It could get worse, How much? In the long long (and previously balance) history of the civil war, there has been plenty of lack of importance in the game- but there was always excitement on both sides. How excited is Beaver nation this week?? Curious, who remembers being less excited for civil war?

    • It will get worse for the next 2-3 years. What’s surprising to me is that when you look at OSU Men’s baseball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s improving basketball, a Women’s gymnastics team that generally does well, and a FWIW wresting team that does well in it’s own context, how the hell is Riley and Banker’s repeated and obvious incompetence tolerated?

And why? Because an over-the-hill fanbase uses the 28-year consecutive losing streak as the bar? Does it take their eternal rest in the gentle soil for OSU to move on to positive goals and benchmarks?

      • YO TOU NEEDS TA QUUIT WIT DAT GYMNASTICS WOMENS BBALL BULLSHIT! YOU DUMB MO FO GET YO HEAD OUTCHA AZZZZ NOBODY GIVES TWO SHITS BOUT DEM CLUB SPORTS MANE!!!!!

      • agreed. Football deserves the MOST scrutiny as it is the biggest revenue generator in OSU athletics. So why does it get the LEAST amount of scrutiny? I remember a few years back in an interview after the 3-9 season BDC SAID on the joe beaver show “these guys didn’t forget how to coach”. He REALLY said that. Vote with your wallets folks. And tell them so when they call looking for $$$ or renewing your season tix. It’s the only way these dumbasses in charge are going to get the message.

    • Heck, are any Duck fans excited for the Civil War anymore? From the selection of fans I know, I would say no. One of the better rivalries in college football, reduced to a scrimmage because our athletic director gave out a contract rewarding mediocrity.

I really hope Riley retires after this season, because there’s no way we’re getting rid of him otherwise.

  39. Guarantee things get better if we are smart enough to hire Coach Wells. Perfect time to make the transition. His next 7 or 8 years will be his best.

  40. Yo Yall dis might be da most imbarrissing game film in da film room! Oh shit! Like WTF is dat deal wit sMITH? dAT MO FO COULDN’T CATCH A COOOLD!!

rEALLY TOUGH TO WATCH DI AND i THOUGH WE WUZ IMPROVING ON THE FIELD!!

RILEY AINT GONNA BE ABLE TO LOLLY GAGG AROUND DIS MO FO SCHOOOOL FO MUCH LONGER WIT DIS SHIZZZZZXZZ MANE44233232

  41. Well, that was … disgusting. Uninspired. Etc, etc….

And this wasnt any kind of great Husky team…

Riley cant be fired, but should be. Still, one can at least suggest it. I really think he could be talked into retiring. Maybe if the ducks score in triple figures next weekend…

And to the morons who suggest that things could get WORSE with a new coach, I suspect that Vegas bookies would put up some odds against that. And they arent out to lose money. I really think the odds for improvement would be pretty high. Riley just isnt putting anything into it anymore…

  42. I wasted time looking at funny internet images instead of watching the game.

Say what you want, but at least I felt happy at the end of it.

  43. Seriously feel bad for those bright spots on our team like Villamin and Strong. It is sick but I’d almost feel better if they found a way to transfer out. Even though Riley can’t recruit every once in a while he’ll grab a talented kid. But then he surrounds them with poor recruiting and poor coaching.

  44. I just keep waiting for that final downward step where the program crosses the line and becomes like recent vintage Wazzu and CU non-competitive. Like where you’re down 28 at halftime of almost every league game.

I think that is one reason why Riley’s job is still secure. Lots of uninspired coaching and play, but not that consistent week after week blow out yet. I think the Pollyannas and “28 year losing streak worriers” frame everything within a prism of just not being embarrassed every week. They will point to the 3 blown fourth quarter leds for this season.

  45. Take your program back people. Not any of our faults that both the administration and head coach have been inept with the football program. Riley would be fired anywhere else and hands down deserves it. The courtesy to retire is a gift at this point and if hr doesn’t take it then the choice is clear. Like Florida the play has been so bad there should have been an in season announcement that Riley would not return. Enjoy losing an 8th straight Civil War. I watched quite a few Pettibone games and found much more to like in them than where Riley is and where he is going. Nowhere. We may waste another year or two letting this get even worse but why? Only an idiot like DeCarolis would allow that. 14 years of Riley needs to finally be the end. Fans have had it and the situation will only get uglier if Riley stays any longer. We need a new direction more than any FBS program in the nation and deserve it now.

    • Thank you Mr. Freefall for your kind words regarding my coaching prowess.

If I had been allowed to stay, instead of being prematurely and unfairly fired, you would, I am certain, be celebrating OSU’s long-term status as a BCS heavy weight.

Send me your mailing address and I will forward you an autographed picture and an authentic 1996 Beaver game jersey. The jerseys are in pristine condition except for the indelible grass stains on the backs and some cleat marks on the fronts. JB

  46. I didn’t watch any of this game. Just checked the score and what looks like a beat down (though Mannion passed for 300 yards so it’s all good!). Stats stats stats.

  47. Civil War week quotes:
“you can throw the records out of this rivalry game.”
Translation: beavers going to get rolled
“their team (beavers) have played teams close and beat the sun devils.”
Translation: once we ahead we will be playing base sets in order to not give Ucla any extra tape on us
“this game means a lot for our Seniors”
Translation: they will never experience a CW victory.
“i Got a ton of respect for coach Riley”
Translation: he is worth one guarantee win a year!
“Coach Helfish has done great job since Kelley left”
Translation: if I was the coach they wouldn’t have won any connference titles

  48. LOL … hey, there’s an iceberg hole in the side of the ship….might as well drink and sing while the sucker goes down…

I say its a matter of time before even Riley can no longer kid himself that its all ok, and just a matter of mysteriously “righting” the ship. The SOB is sinking. When he gets to that state, he’ll take the retirement lifeboat. Only question is how much more of this shit we have to experience before he figures it out…

  49. Isn’t Washington just a worse version of Oregon on offense? How can anyone think we’re going to stop the likely Heisman winning QB and their ridiculous freshman RB?

  50. So why didn’t OSU offer Eric Dungey?

“Lakeridge High School senior quarterback Eric Dungey, a Rivals three-star quarterback, announced his commitment to Syracuse University on Sunday evening, choosing the Orange over offers from Air Force, Colorado State, Harvard, Montana State, UC Davis, UNLV, Wyoming and Yale.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound signal-caller has perhaps the highest ceiling of any prospect in the state of Oregon this year, combining a strong arm with elite athleticism for the position.

This season, Dungey threw for 2,217 yards with 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, while rushing for 868 yards and 14 scores.”

    http://highschoolsports.oregonlive.com/news/article/-6287727706969775480/eric-dungey-lakeridge-quarterback-commits-to-syracuse-orange/#incart_river

They’ve offered other 2 and 3* players with his kind of offer list, why not him? 6′ 4′, will definitely put on weight. Is it because he’s mobile?

Even if he doesn’t turn out to be a legitiamte DI starter, he seems like a good backup candidate and a great scout team QB to prepare the team for mobile qbs.

  51. I have a feeling the Ducks are more concerned about Mariota getting injured during the Civil War than they are about losing it. I don’t blame them.

  52. Seem like if we can just stick to what we do, our kids will hold their own. These are Ducks man, they ain’t nuttin special. Da Beavs just as good at most position s, just need to protect Sean and get Woods going early.

I see just like last year where they had no answers for Bolden and Woods and the run game gonna get loose. Them Ducks ain’t seen no athletes like Villamin and all those 5’10” corners for them won’t have no chance!

    Go Beavs!!

  53. 20.5 is the magic number, and for tonight’s hoops it’s 13. As much as I’ve enjoyed the Tinkle era…it will be interesting to see how they match up with a mid-level Big 12 team tonight.

    • Ok State statistically is very good on defense. However, their four opponents have been Southeast Louisiana, Prairie View, Northwest Oklahoma State and Milwaukee. So, not much to take away from that. We shall see, I am interested and will be watching.

    • Lets not forget that this Tinkle team is lacking a normal talent level. Getting players from campus tryouts shows that. And he has only started breaking them of their CR habits. Dont start having illusions of challenging in conference.

What I see so far is very encouraging. Just play hard the whole game and keep up the strong defense.

      • Ummm… okay?

You’re supposing the talent would have equally sucked if CR was still here? The media would not have seen it that way. They would have caled it reloading and such bullshit.

But the call was for the existing talent to be directed differently. And there is no dearth of talent. There is a dearth of experience, which many dummies apparently want to conflate with talent. I have no idea why this is done except that maybe CR was a master media manipulator and had most of the media on his side, making the “reality’ in his wake an over-compensation.

        • Then explain not having enough players that open tryouts have to be held and several walk ons added? Does that blame not fall on CR? IIRC correctly only Manderson didn’t show up. And yes I didn’t forget about Baker being not medically cleared.

          • forgot about him. Ok, so that’s 3 total including Baker that’s not medically cleared. That’s a significant chunk of depth

          • I won’t argue depth. That’s an obvious concern which will affect the team as the season wears on. But our top eight can compete. And I would contend that they can contend better than recent Beavs teams simply because they are are all better defenders and defensive talents… with no depth. Even Olaf has defensive capabilities he showed during CR’s tenure but were not apparent because we just ran that fucking zone until we died.

The only player I will miss is Collier. He was so not used correctly on the offensive end, and he could have been a spectacular man defender if we would have run it. But he would have also been superb in the amoeba. I would have loved to see that.

          • I liked Collier as well. Burton, not so much. I don’t think Morris-Walker is as good as you think he is. At least offensively.
