7pm. Pac-12 network.
Since they are a National story with a legit chance at a National Championship, I’ll try to make a thread for each game moving forward. You guys might need to remind me to make the threads because I don’t follow the schedule.
Go Lady Beavs!
I’m going to game. Hope they roll…
Good for you, buddy. Support programs doing things right.
I was just looking at Nebraska’s schedule….
http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=3&SPID=22
Miami – Loss
Minnesota – Loss
Wisconsin – Loss
Michigan State – Probable loss
BYU – 50/50
Iowa – 50/50
Riley could lose 6 games next year.
Way OT, but I’m just fascinated by Riley…hugely curious for this next football season.
He could lose as many as 6.
Do they play FCS teams? That first FCS loss will be the good one.
Is South Alabama DII? If not, then they don’t. Bummer.
Am I accurate to pencil in those losses? I don’t know enough about those programs. Maybe they are in rebuilding mode and Riley lucks out that way, but based on what I do know about those programs, 3 losses and 50/50 on three others.
I’m a little obsessed with Riley. I’ll be perfectly honest. I want him to fail badly just to blow up the narrative. OSU doing well under Andersen and Riley flopping is the final piece of this puzzle.
Don’t worry. Rile E. might take off running at full speed, but he and fans will eventually hit a team running the spread, look down and realize they ran past the edge of the cliff *plummet*
All you gotta do is wait til 2016:
Poor fuckers have to play Ohio State and Oregon.
http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=3&SPID=22&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=100&Q_SEASON=2016
That will be entertaining. Can’t root for the duck, but dont wanna see Biley suddenly stop the webfoots either. Hopefully we will be awesome by 2016 and so I can root for Biley.
Agree 100%.
The only thing that could save him in the short term is a nit of the “Harbaugh effect” where the kids are tough and disciplined by the prior coach and still play that way despite the new marshmallow in charge.
Hey, Riley’s tough! Tough to watch on the sidelines, tough on his chewing gum, tough to get his junk out of the media’s mouth, tough to get rid of…
Tough to stop talking about….
I might become a Nebraska fan just to watch the hilarious narrative continue. And by might I mean I will definitely be watching all their games.
Haha I’ll probably do the same thing for a while. Gotta check the status of the hand jive too.
I don’t plan to watch more than a little, counting on some of you guys to keep us all informed.
I plan to not care and watch none. You can keep me informed of those who might… and what they might say… I think.
Not gonna waste time predicting Bike Smiley’s future. Not gonna care. That’s for the fans of the school he is now grifting.
Oh… thank you Nebraska.
I’ll giggle while I make a hoagie or grill something on a Saturday and hear the NU score. But that’s about it.
Well… then I’ll wonder why I never became a football coach. That’s some easy money right there.
My brother will keep me in the loop. If my Gophers beat them this year their fans will go in meltdown mode as that would be three in a row.
Btw, PO reporting a Riley sighting at flat tail downtown Corvallis
You have to be joking??
From lucky himself, go look
http://www.pure-orange.net/cgi/anyboard.cgi/bscpigskin?cmd=get&cG=1303837393&zu=3130383739&v=2&gV=0&p=
OMG!
What is he doing there? He is obsessed with Corvallis. Further proof he got run out…
Wow that message board sucks 9 kinds of cock. Talk about archaic.
Yeah, I could never get into that site. That’s why I came here around when it started actually. Scout/Blitz needed subs. PO was annoying to look at. Found this site somehow and found it a good source for open discussion.
Quick, someone check the mens room for scrawlings of “BDC = :-( ” or “Golly Gary Andersen jiminy christmas!”
Must have missed the glory hole in the men’s restroom. They must not have those in Lincoln
that glory hole’s a neat deal
South Alabama is in the Sun Belt, I think……so technically they are D-1. I don’t think Nebraska has ever lost to a 1AA, but came close last year against McNeese State.
You’re probably interested as we all are to some degree because we are curious as to how Riley will do, he hasn’t been a D1 head coach anywhere else, but OSU. I think it was an odd hire by Nebraska and I want to see how this plays out. The expectations are very high.
Oh and for the record….
We’re way the fuck off topic in the WBB thread hahahahahaha….
angry’s gonna moderate our sorry asses
..or move it all to General
You ladies done whining?
..it’s what we do best…
Well… not really.
But it’s a neat deal.
Eh, it’s WBB who cares.
Cue jezebel.com
Two things:
1. Glory hole is not what I thought glory hole would be. And now that I’ve looked it up… I can’t even remember what I thought it would be. I’m just wondering if there’s any sanding done to the wood ones… you know… because splinters hurt.
Note: This would have been immediately apparent if “Porky’s” would have called it such.
2. You clearly have zero clue what jezebel.com is.
This will be a good road trip for the team, win or lose. Tonight we’ll hopefully we see an end to the slow offensive start, better transition D, and good pressure on Plum.
I’m going to make the trip for the Stanford game at the end of the month. Get out there and support this team.
No Gabby Hanson tonight.
I asked Gina twice about her status after the last game because I noticed her on the bench at the end of the game with a towel over her head and not participating in cheering on her teammates. And now, in her story for tonight she finally lets us know that Gabby, “is not dressed for pregame warmups after sustaining an undisclosed injury against UCLA Monday night.”
A bummer on several levels.
Go Gals!
3s aren’t falling. Rueck should put Hamblin and the German C in at the same time. Go huge…
Beavs have run into a lot of bad officiating lately.
Hell of an ending to the half, Husky gal did good.
That 3 by Gibson was no surprise, that is her favorite spot on the floor.
Lids comin off for LadyBeavs next half….book it!
Don’t think so. Refs are intent on making the Huskies win.
and it proved out…
I know I’ve said this about 5 games in a row, but the slow starts have to end. A terrible start like this could lead to getting blown out in the NCAA tournament. Of the things I said we’ll hopefully see tonight, none of them have happened. Won’t be surprised if they lose this.
Just came in at halftime, what the hell is going on? Beavers flat or are we getting homered?
A little flat, a lot homered.
36% from the field and 63% at the line will do that.
Telecasters even getting on the refs…you know it’s bad then.
I hate to complain about refs, but man, these are some of the worst I have seen. The only calls they’ve gotten right so far are travels.
Unfuckingbelievable!
Looks like they took shooting lessons from the men’s team.
I cant stand that big fat shaq looking leg humper.
She looks like Sponge Bob.
Gut check time.
Damn, does UW ever miss a 3?
No
Plus they don’t defend them.
Just felt the ground shake…
No shit
Now the refs are going to start with the whistles??
looks like really bad officiating on the leg humpers end
These refs are nuts.
Horrible officiating. Good thing I’m not coach I would be long gone by now, watching in the locker room.
Isn’t excessive swinging of elbows a foul?
The chick with the long blonde ponytail?
Yes, who was then removed by their coach
The cameraman with some cheerleader upskirts. Weird.
I’m fine with it…
That is called good camera work.
Don’t know about Washington but not a crime in good ol Oregon!
http://www.oregonlive.com/beaverton/index.ssf/2015/02/taking_photos_up_girls_skirt_a.html#incart_m-rpt-1
Rough loss.
I take it the women are about to drop one on the road? No P-12 Network for me and I don’t know if my Ukranian friends provide links to women’s games.
lost. rather bullshit imo
Yeah. Washington played well, but the refs gifted it.
That game had a toury feel to it, and the Beavs didn’t play well…
Gifted is correct. Even the announcers were making comments about the non-calls.
I guess that’s what happens when you give the femibeavs their own game thread :-(
this is why we can’t have nice things
Hanson might have made a difference, but still, Beavs didn’t play well. 37% from the field and 69% from the line ain’t gonna do it very often. Very surprised to see no improvement in shooting in the second half.
Damn, you gotta respect the guts shown by Jamie and Deven; no hesitation to get physical.
PEKO sighting: Gina tweets, “I got an email from a reader asking about Kyle Peko today. It’s the song that never ends! (I saw Peko at offseason workouts last week, btw)”
“He has that class almost done” we should know by the end of the week.
–Mike Riley
The one Peko sighting you’ll never see? On a football field during a beavers game.
Maybe our segregation of them by calling them female/women/lady Beavs caused them to think they were insufficient as Beavs… whatever that means.
tee hee….
Or maybe the extra titles made them think they were super-special and it went to their heads ;-)
LOL, when I first glanced at your post I thought it said titties.
time for reading glasses, son.
UW shot lights out. Late in 2nd half, they were over 50% FG. Major props to the Beavs physical play, especially Jamie Wiesner and Devan Hunter. We had tix down low and those two gals were mixing it up and fighting for every loose ball. Also, kudos to Mandy Close and Ruth Hamblin for taking time after the game to get a photo with my daughter. After a tough loss, they were both gracious and interactive with the Beaver fans up here in Seattle.
Gotta beat the leg humpers tonight.
Or rather tomorrow for those not in China
Remember Amanda Pflugrad, that quack cheerleader? She’s on PAC 12 network doing gymnastics commentary now
I didn’t see much of the game but it looked like the perimeter defenders were having trouble guarding the huskies’ quickness and Hamblin never gave help fast enough. On the offensive end Hamblin had a hard time with the physical nature of the huskie defenders. They were leaning on Hamblin pretty good and when she pushed back the huskie flopped and Hamblin was called for the foul. If I would’ve been in Scott’s shoes I would’ve taken a T there if only to get my point across.
In the end, the huskies shot the ball very well and the Beavs not so much.
That’s what I hate about basketball and why I never really got into it. Half the sport is predicated on fouls and flops.
Heck, at least soccer is mostly predicated on only flops.
I agree. I won’t watch any basketball except OSU for that reason. And refs seem worse in basketball than football.
I think refereeing basketball is probably harder than football, and therefore good basketball refs are harder to come by. Bad refereeing in a basketball game is much harder to overcome.
Bend, saw the game with your Boilermakers at the Barn. Really a fun game, but what should have been an easy win turned into a nail biter due some improbable shooting by Purdue and missing the front end of one and ones our our side. Goph’s got killed by offensive rebounds but got seventeen steals. Our coach summed it up in his own smart ass way perfectly, “things were looking good and then they started banking in threes.” Last few minutes Purdue hit seven threes on including two BANKED in tres by the same guy LOL. The best one, however, didn’t count. At the end of the first half with the clock at two seconds a guy launches a 65 footer and gets nothing but net! Unfortunately Painter called a TO a split second earlier. Wild game and the roof almost came off the old place a few times.
There was lots of yelling in my house with all those turnovers. I think Painter was trying to call that TO a little earlier. The gophs were well prepared with their press that Purdue often struggles against, and their zone really clogged the lane for our bigs. It would’ve been a nice road win, oh well.
Shall we go out and kick someone who is at a full trot in football? Let’s just call it a trip.
Those aren’t dirty plays in football. Nobody would think twice about them, especially when fat people are lying on the ground writhing in pain… because they got kicked in the fucking legs while they were running at full speed… or any speed.
But they’re your flops in soccer. So they must be painless.
And running non-stop for miles is just wimpy compared to fat people who run 500 yards on a good day… with breaks every six yards or so… just because breaks are so exciting.
The next time I see this in football will be the first
http://mashable.com/2014/12/01/soccer-flop-worst-of-all-time/
And before you bring up kickers, let’s just say there are reasons they don’t get a ton of respect, and I’ve never seen anything from them as often or as extreme as in soccer. (No offense, Keith Kostol)
“If I wanted to watch someone struggle to score for 90 minutes, I’d take my friends to the bar”
I’m with you. Watching soccer is equal to watching paint dry or grass grow. Thank god neither of my sons play or desire to. I’m not going to argue that they aren’t athletes because imo they are. But the sport itself, well. It just flat ass sucks due to being boring. If I wanted to watch people just run around, I’d sit in my front lawn and watch the joggers running by. Speaking if running or jogging, I’ll take it up when I see someone smiling while doing it.
I admit I find the part where they sprinkle a line of pixie dust, all line up, and cover their junk while some guy kicks a ball at them almost slightly amusing
almost
Get over yourself. The reason America loves football is because it’s a really simple game that fat people can play. If sports were restaurants, football would be McDonald’s.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8-JYSXDp9k
Shall I also post videos for all the college football fake injuries too? Those are even better than the above.
Yes… we’re talking about you Vontaze.
We get it. You love soccer. The rest of us think it sucks. Get over yourself
I love just about every sport out there. I’m a competition junkie. Hell, I did science bowls and olympiads and math contests and spelling bees in school because I loved the competition… and getting out of school. Between all the sports and science/math/English competitions I was on the road for about 25% of my HS class days.
But if I had to choose my favorite sport, I would go with hurling. That sport is fun to watch.
Soccer and football are about equal when it comes to viewing. The only difference is that when a soccer game is bad there will be a lot of scoring. A bad football game is an overwhelming majority of football games out there.
I’m awesome at hurling! I got tons of practice watching Biley and CR :-D
Cal beats ucla 64-62. Bears have won 4 in a row
Too bad we didn’t get them when they sucked
That road game’s not looking very winnable anymore.
yeah certainly not looking easy now. Bears are playing very well. Meanwhile the Buffs are in shambles. No Askia Booker tonight, no chance against Utah. Utes roll 79-51 in Boulder
Sort of off topic, but still Beaver related: OSU Softball is 5-0 to start the season. Not sure of the quality of competition, though.
Beat Wisconsin. Thank you.
Mildcats lose 81-78 at ASU
Sean Miller =overrated coach, good recruiter
and unlike Jack I think Herb Sendek is a good coach. Not great, but good. He fits in at ASU just fine
the three teams remaining in a 3-way tie for third all play Sunday. Beavs host hussies, ducks host coogars and USC plays Stanford at Maples. All home teams are favored to win. UCLA’s loss to Cal drops them to 6-5. Bears are playing very well in winning 4 in a row. Competition? Maybe. 4 wins are over WSU and UW (road), UCLA and USC at home. 3 of those games came down to the final possession.
How on earth is USC favored to win over anyone? They suck!
well they did come close to winning at Gill. And in Eugene. And against Cal Thursday night. But close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
That depends on what you consider “close”. 4 points for the Beavs is a blow out!
Depaul would have something to say about that. Still the best I’ve seen the beavs play all season. Very enjoyable game.
Yes it was
Sunday’s games:
1:30 pm (Fox S1) – I’m thinking we should harness the dawgs to the sled. I know it will be worth watching…I’ll be there.
4:00 pm (Pac-12) – Wazzu should give the Yucks a run for their money tomorrow like they did on the Palouse. Will probably be worth watching.
5:30 pm (EspnU) – It’s not likely for USC taking it to the trees on the farm.
Go Beavs! Lay a beatin on the leg humpers!
I’d like to see the Trojenz lay one on big red
They already did in the Holiday Bowl :-P
beavs up to 75th in RPI. Oklahoma State winning at Texas and over Kansas today certainly helps. UW @ 80th. They are in a free fall now. As previously stated, winning takes care of everything
http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html
Bahahaha check out this gem from the mildcat game:
https://vine.co/v/OUmTTgFQbhh
No wonder they lost!
Fail! and the proper call. Charging
Beaver softball is 5-0 in the Kajilawa Invitatonal in AZ this weekend. Wins against ol’ Miss, U of Pacific, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Nevada. Chance to run the table this morning vs. Cal Poly and finish 6-0. Great start to the new season!
Looks like a near sellout today.
