OT: looks like the Far West Classic will have a 5-team schedule on Dec. 18-19 (two of the teams will only play one game). Teams (number of games): Beavs (2), UPortland (2), UCSB (2), Tulsa (1), Weber State (1).
Not a bad field for the first year for the Beavs. Tulsa nearly made the the NCAA Tournament and should make it next year with everyone back and UCSB returns 3 of top 4 scorers on a decent team. Nice job to get a couple decent teams on relatively short notice. I think in the next few years they’ll land some better teams and really pack the Rose Garden(Not calling it the Moda Center) with more time to work out the schedule for it.
UC-Santa Barbara (Massari’s former employer before joining Oregon St.) will play the Beavers on Friday and the Pilots on Saturday, but the other games will have Weber St. in for Friday only, to play Portland, and Tulsa arriving to take on Oregon St. on Saturday.
Was an annual basketball tournament the Beavers hosted at Memorial Coliseum at Christmas time that was one of the top non-conference tournaments. They regularly brought in big time opponents in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Far West was hosted by Beavs and ucks together, some great matchups and good visiting teams. I remember seeing Magic there, must have been in the late 70’s.
Yep. Sometimes there would be a non conference civil war for the FWC championship. Good times. I hope they do bring it back and it’s successful. But it will be tough to compete with the preseason NIT and Hawaii tournaments. The Great Alaska Shootout used to be one of the premium tournaments. Now it’s garbage
Back in the day the Beavs and Ducks scheduled a 3rd game every season that was played in Portland. Some years they would play 4 if they also met in the FW Classic.
My father used to take me to the Far West Classic when I was very young. We always sat right behind the cheerleaders, and now that I’m older, I completely understand his train of thought.

Angry’s guy Clark spaces out, forgets the 1 out situation on a pop up and is doubled off of first. Sheesh….again.
I think even Riley might pull a guy who made that kind of mental error!
IDK if the 3rd base coach gave him the stop sign and he ran thru it or waved him home. Either way it was not hit deep enough to warrant sending him imo.
They’re going to waste another good performance by Moore, giving up the unearned run and only scoring 1 run on 9 hits. Only in the bizarro world do you get three hits in an inning and don’t score.
It’s a moot point now but what the heck is Hamilton batting second if his job isn’t to bunt Hendrix over? But doesn’t that just make it easier for coaches to decide to pitch around KJ?
1st and 2nd, 2 out for Hendrix. Whoreton waddles out to the mound to bring in his closer. Scotty, I think I just witnessed his gravitational pull as the entire duck infield moved towards the mound as he sauntered out there.
Good grief is so right; outhit these jerks 11-2 and still have this mess. Maybe not this year, but in the past whorton seems to win so many games on HBP and opposition errors.
No. Passed balls are like errors in figuring earned/unearned runs. So all 18 runs are unearned. Unearned because the passed ball was on the 3rd out and all the runs scored after that.
And I guess that can extend to when the P is the one who makes an E to extend the inning. But I would guess the latter is an example of when the official scoring doesn’t discriminate in terms of who made an E and just scores everything unearned after that. Is the WP scored the same?
Hamilton needs to ride the pine. His .233 BA and his 2 errors tonight aren’t cutting it. Donahue could use the experience and Caleb isn’t getting better
Shit! Now it’ll take the next two to settle for a series win when a sweep was really needed, and possible.
Where the heck do you start to tell these guys what they did to drop this one; the list is so long. Feel bad for Andrew.
Run them until they puke. Unacceptable to lose this game. Too many errors and walks. How in the fuck do you lose a game when your opponent has 2 fucking hits?
Aside from brillant pitching from Andrew Moore, that was about 4 hours of some of the worst baseball I have seen in a long time? Was it nerves being on ESPN?
Starting to lose my interest in this Baseball season. After literally throwing that game away, just don’t have much faith in this squad. Best pitcher Moore did fine and outhit Orwgon by more than 5x and team still ends up losing. Casey needs to get this team’s head on straight.
yep. Makes last years regional flameout hurt that much more. It’s gonna be a couple years before this program can compete with the elite to get to Omaha again. Although it would be easier if they played in the ACC or SEC so they were given the benefit of the doubt
I don’t know how you can see the comedy of errors and horrible bullpen pitching we just did (reminiscent of the rest of the year) and not lose some interest in this year’s squad. It’s seriously painful to watch and listen to.
And really kind of embarassing to watch as a Beaver fan given it was on national TV.. Gabe Clark ripping around the bases with one out on a fly out??? Harrison holding the runner in the 9th????? All of the sacrifices that kill possible bigger innings. Relief pitchers who nibble instead of challenge. Hitting batters with two strikes in the count.
“You’d have thought they’d won the World Series, the way they carried on after the game. Fact is fellas, you still suck. It’s just that we, collectively, sucked more than you tonight.”
You sound just like Mike Bellotti. Funny when it’s on the other shoe. Capitalizing on your opponents mistakes is the name of the game. Walks, HBP and errors led to Oregon winning. The Beavs would’ve won but ran out of innings? Right? That’s how you sound. Just like a whining duck. Minus the fowl language. It’s not like OSU hasn’t WON a game by the opponent walking in the winning run.
He was creepy. Thank god I didn’t stay up and watch the finish. DVR ran out this morning so missed the walk in.
That was a Riley like performance. They really outdid themselves with screw ups. Moore has to be really pissed. Clarke and Hamilton should not play the rest of the series.
The “Riley like performance” was my exact thought. Minus the gum chewing, talking into the headset, grinning at the wrong time and marveling skyward at the weather, where was Casey? The tv coverage did not show a single shot of him during that entire ninth inning melt down.
Except for sending the master brewer and “coach of pitchers” Yeske out for a brief conference, what was he doing? JB
Wasn’t that dude surreal? Dressed in white, just sitting there behind home plate without showing any emotion. Looked like the black guy next to him, was kind of squirming in his seat (maybe he was a brainwashed follower?). I think he left before the 9th inning, right? I guess he cursed the Beavers and then went on to a higher place!
I just knew Hamilton was going to choke on that grounder……5th inning on the infield became the Bad News Bears, it started with Ice dropping that perfect throw and descended into hell from there.
I was watching the situation passively, but as the game got more and more boring with all of the walks to the mound, it finally dawned on me that something bizarre was going on behind home plate!!!!
Surreal moment. They are showing the Neb. spring game. MR, Banker, Cav, et al. in Neb red.
Just interviewed Opie. I guess this really did happen. I can’t see how this can end well or be a neat deal. 80k+ in their stadium. Welcome to expectations Mike.
Spring game here at 3. I get to see if my off season beer training has paid off.
Just back from Reser, where my son and I watched most of today’s scrimmage (missed the first five minutes). I may post more detailed comments later, but here are the highlights.
1. Today’s scrimmage employed a different format, and featured pretty much direct tit-for-tat competition between Collins and Mitchell. The ball would be placed on, say, the 25 yard line. First Collins got a chance to direct a drive. If/when the drive ended (touchdown, or failure to make a first down),it then became Mitchell’s turn to direct a drive, with the ball moved back to the 25 yard line (that is, the same starting point as Collins). There were some variations in this format (e.g., McMaryion got a chance to run some plays, too), but pretty much it was Collins against Mitchell, and let’s see who does a better job running the offense in each situation.
2. From what we saw, I’d say with some confidence that Collins won today’s QB competition.
Short passes: Collins threw a number of short passes for completions, both to the sidelines and over the middle, and looked relatively sharp (especially for the first half of the scrimmage). Mitchell did not complete as many short passes, and sometimes missed his targets badly.
Longer passes: Collins only tried a few longer passes (none of which were completed to my recollection — but at least Collins was throwing reasonably tight spirals this week, unlike last week, where he was launching quails). Mitchell tried a number of longer passes, but I don’t recall seeing him complete any. Meanwhile, at least one of Mitchell’s longer passes was intercepted, and a number of other longer passes from Mitchell seemed like they were thrown up for grabs, and could or should have been intercepted.
Running: Mitchell runs the ball ok, but Collins is clearly the faster and more evasive runner, as well as being a better scrambler. This is not news, but it was reinforced during today’s scrimmage.
To their credit, both QB’s did a better job today of getting signals from the sidelines and running plays in an efficient, timely fashion. Unlike last week, both QBs showed promise of being able to run GA’s offense as it is designed to be run.
Based on today’s scrimmage, I’m guessing that Collins is now first on the depth chart at QB, with Mitchell a solid second, and McMaryion a distant third (but still in the mix).
3. With Luke Del Rio gone, the Beavs need a new holder for extra points and field goals. Looks like that new holder is going to be either Richard Mullaney or Tanner Sanders. I’m guessing that the job will end up going to Tanner Sanders (which makes sense — given that TS is younger, with much more eligibility ahead of him, and has both QB and receiver skills).
4. Overall, and particularly in the first half of the scrimmage, the offense looked and played much better than it has so far this Spring. There were stretches where the offense moved the ball crisply today, both on the ground and with short passes and screen passes (particularly when the first string O-line was on the field). Unlike last week (when the offense looked inept most of the time), today’s scrimmage provided reasons to be cautiously optimistic. There were still too many bad plays (including passes thrown up for grabs, fumbles, tackles in the backfield, etc.) But it was MUCH better than last week.
as someone who takes in alot of practices, where would you say this team compares to a riley team at this point in the spring?
fall camp is a long ways away, so I’m hopeful they can clean up the passing game quite a bit between now and September. also afraid its going to take some time before we really start seeing what this offense can do.
It’s hard to compare this team, at this point in Spring practices, to Riley teams at the same point in Spring practices for the past few years.
Riley’s Spring practices — to me –had the feel of dress rehearsals rather than the real thing. With Riley, the schemes and plays were more or less the same — year after year — and it was mostly a matter of making a few tweaks, and fitting known players into well-defined roles on both offense and defense. The coaches focused on teaching the fine points of Riley’s “sophisticated” offense or Banker’s (whatever you want to call it) defense. Hitting was usually limited, so as to avoid injury. Defense rarely blitzed (mostly it was the same vanilla 4-3 scheme). It all rarely felt or looked like real football.
Andersen’s Spring practice session feel entirely different. New schemes on offense and defense. New coaches, teaching different techniques in different ways. An emphasis on “making plays” rather than fitting into tightly scripted roles and routes. More aggressiveness on defense (including lots of blitzing). Lots of real football, with hard hitting, tackling, and real competition between the offense and the defense — and among players to earn playing time on both offense and defense.
After watching today’s practice, I’m more optimistic than I was last week that this new offense is going to come together by the Fall, and be able to move the ball consistently against PAC-12 defenses. Last week was just plain ugly. Today, in contrast, there were glimmers of a crisp short passing game, a fast-paced no-huddle offense, a QB who could pick up yardage on 3rd down scrambles, and an offense that could put a defense on its heels. My son and I left Reser today with smiles on our faces (unlike last week, when we left Reser shaking our heads….)
One additional thought. I suspect that Luke Del Rio’s sudden departure may already be helping the Beavs. It’s hard to prove or substantiate this sort of thing, but there seemed to be a different and more positive vibe and attitude today at the scrimmage (among players and also including the coaches). Yes, there is still clearly plenty of competition for starting QB (mostly between Collins and Mitchell), but it feels like a healthier competition than it was before, when Del Rio was participating. Maybe it’s just that it’s now all freshmen, with no one suggesting (as Del Rio sometimes did, directly or indirectly, in interviews) that he deserves to get a leg up based on past experience or playing time or seniority or whatever. Again, just a feeling, but I think it was addition by subtraction when Del Rio announced his decision to transfer, and that the Beavs (players and coaches) are already better for it.
The thing about the baseball team is that unlike losses in years past, this squad consistently beats themselves. For a Pat Casey team that is distinctly Mike Riley-like. If they finish strong they might be able to get a three or four seed somewhere, to keep the post-season streak alive, and the schedule is back-loaded with home games, which should help.
A 3.0 GPA last term!! And, “Kauha’aha’a said Peko has shown that he can direct the defensive line play from the (nose tackle) position.” Also, “He needs to steer the ship up front and he’s doing a good job with it.”
So, Clark gets a chance at redemption with sacks full and no out. What a piss poor swing to go down on the 3-2 count. The poor swing and head down trip to the dugout says a lot, and if baseball is a mental game then he is in a bad place.
In Napa, CA I have Comcast. P12 channels are ucla at usc, Stanford at Cal, ucla at usc again, and softball uw at ua. P12 scheduling concepts really suck. I also have asu/ua one espnu. But no civil war game unless I feel like watching on a computer :(
I haven’t watched the past couple series. Casey is playing the wrong guys at the wrong positions and refuses to change, so watching it only frustrates me. Not worth it.
And it was a major fuck up because he compounded missing a routine grounder by making that atrocious throw. A decent throw, even if late, at least keeps the run from scoring on that play and then who knows what happens with the changed circumstances.
Not sure about 10 with Oregon’s offense but definitely 6-7. Team has shown an inability to tack on runs when given an opportunity and it’s cost them games
Rasmussen walks the 9 hole batter with two out then give up a single and HBP to load the bases. Has thrown 55 pitches and he’s not through 2 innings yet.
Does this team have anyone who can throw strikes besides Andrew Moore at this point? Can you fine college players for hitting a batter with two strikes?
Clark smokes a ball to the third baseman and he doubles off Morrison. Beavers’ baserunning this series has been a disaster as well as basically everything else
Didn’t look too bad on Morrison’s part to me. Parker was sure he was safe at second, looked darn close to me. Pretty hard to fault Morrison on one hit that hard, even when it was in front of him. Just my .02
But, yeah, on balance some very poor ball being played…on the part of both teams.
He got caught too far off and was definitely out to me. Just one of those where you can’t get doubled off. Not as egregious as Clark’s last night but can’t be too aggressive on line drives like that
I personally don’t get it, why do you sacrifice in the 8th inning with a 2 run lead? Hit the fucking ball hard into the outfield like a man. Hendrix struck out anyway. I don’t think that Earl Weaver and Pat Casey would have much in common!
Thank god. If Casey coached like Weaver, Beavers baseball would never have been east of the Rockies. Macho caveman baseball lost a double header to evolution.
Early in the season, I don’t recall the game or the circumstance, Fox walked the first batter he faced, was taken out of the game and hardly seen since. Reminded me of CR. There are times when Casey seems to get his knickers in a twist.
Saw the Grizzlies spring scrimmage yesterday – I don’t think they are going to defeat North Dakota State in their first game – for which a ticket can hardly be found.
Casey not happy with the P12 for scheduling 7:30 pm games in the PNW. Amen to that. Says the duck pitcher throws 94-95 so patience at the plate key today.
Hendrix moves to the 4 hole and King batting 5th. Clark out with the RHP.
Casey said that Eckert’s problem has been the inability to get batters out on 0-2 and 1-2 counts. Clairvoyant as Tolman is 0-2, fouls a couple off and gets a basehit.
If people are smart, no one will vote for her. She’ll keep the tradition going that Obama & Bill has left us with. Difference between her and Bill is she won’t get any BJs.
We need to fire EVERYONE at the level of Governor and above and hire new replacements…it’s sad times we are in today. All politicians seem to be sitting on their thumbs and are only concerned with re-election.
Sorry to go political but I’m getting pissed off with what they are doing to us. With no repercussions.
We should just arbitrarily replace every one of those corrupt-or-something officials who only have their jobs because they were placed there by… ummm… poor people… YEAH!!!! Poor people suck! They made our politicians corrupt by putting people in office and controlling them!!!!
Yeah… yeah… where were we? What were we talking about?
Without me looking at that link, tell me first how it’s relevant and second how I’m burying my head in the sand.
Do you also have evidence of the vast conspiracy of the poor who want to create the new world order?
Do I need to make a go-bag and a bunker in the mountains? Of course… I won’t have any guns… if anyone who wants to come for me in my mountain bunker for the food I gots… if they gots an idea to come… I ain’t gotta gun… cause I’m a leebaral who commie the socialist commie murrika. Or something like that.
If I got you right, you’re one of the rich establishment. So you and Bloomberg must be buddies. Go golfing with the Prez…
OR
You are arguing for the sake of argument. I think the latter even though some of your message is extremely unclear. You have a lot of words in your posts, but don’t say much…
Ftr… I’m not the one talking about how EVERYONE is corrupt, and I’M mad because THEY are out to get ME. I’m not saying THEY don’t deserve MY time or effort because THEY don’t agree with ME. And I’m certainly not the one suggesting that YOU, not I, are burying YOUR head in the sand, and the solution is for ME to just give up and not participate.
Who, precisely are THEY? And what are THEY doing to US? And by US, I understand you to be saying ME.
There was a job I once had where I was told that every rule was written in blood. And while some of the rules seemed dumb and maybe even obsolete in the face of more modern technology, I understood that there was a reason for each of them. And stomping my feet and huffing and puffing like an impudent child was not the way to correct those few rules that were obsolete or even incorrect. That’s because it wasn’t about ME ME ME.
Again you make my point, even if you won’t admit it. I’m not going to debate your inane nonsense.
I’m beginning to think you don’t deserve to call yourself “Jack”. I’m thinking of changing ‘cj’ to ‘Jack’ as that is my name and what the ‘j’ stands for.
that and we do away with political affiliations. Anymore it seems like voting for the lesser of the two evils. I am not the only one that has a problem with that.
yes cause that is proven to work. It’s already a failed system because idiots continue to vote along political party lines instead of doing their own research, reading between the lines and deciding on their own. Too many fucking sheep. Baaa baaa
Note that I did not disagree with you on this point even in my half asleep state of mind last night. My point is that other parties will gain no power if nobody gives them power. Maybe it’s small and frustrating right now (but enough about “X’s” sex life?). But one day those seeds we plant will grow into something we almost hoped they would be. And our grand-kids (or theirs) will tell their friends that we did something of value when everyone else was just a stick in the money-grubbing Wal-Mart/ALEC/AfP mud.
And then the money-grubbers of that future will find a way to deregulate everything, steal the commons for their own enrichment, control the narrative and frustrate the populace into apathy.
You have no right to whine about that in which you do not participate.
Oh… wait… yes you do… because you live in a country not founded by quitters who just gave up when they saw that corporate influence over central government just fucks everyone except those who worked for the corporatocracy.
So… whine on about that which you do nothing to change.
No, I live in a country founded by a revolt from tyranny and taxation without representation. Only difference now is no one represents me. Or anyone like me. Like I said, keep bleating
you can argue all you want. But when your vote doesn’t matter or no one gives a shit is when it becomes a problem. I’d rather be a part of the solution than a continuation of the problem. I don’t play games. Many other feel the same
You’re the one arguing. I’m the one saying there is zero argument based on what you have presented… other than there must now be some type of argument. And you’re arguing that not being a part of anything is the only way to be a part of something.
Can we just skip to the part where you yell that I’m the one not saying harrumph and be done with this?
Huh? I don’t see much in gun control that takes away my Second Amendment rights. But I can see the slippery slope argument and admit that it may be an infringement.
But the Fifth Amendment? I hang out on some politically charged blogs, and I’ve never heard anything like this.
Ahhhh… hold on. Since you mention it with the 2nd… and I’m guessing you’re in Oregon… I think it has to do with the law recently passed which requires private sales of guns within the state to be subject to background checks. And, since felons can’t pass a background check, it would be a violation of their right not to self-incriminate by subjecting themselves to a background check?
Or so you’ve heard?
I’d really like to know what country you thought you grew up in.
I grew up in the USofA, In Oregon as you surmised. Law isn’t passed yet but the Dems have a super-majority in Oregon, so it’s a matter of time. It’s not just Oregon, though it’s the whole country.
No… I don’t know. And allusions to something nobody besides you know doesn’t make a big jumble of “they evil” valid.
What the hell are you specifically talking about? I’ve given my best guess. And you didn’t confirm that. You just went all, “they gunna git my toes first,” and kinda talked about how toe-jam is not good.
That’s my line. But I guess you’re a newbie. So have at it.
So… what precisely is the danger of this law? I’ve stated the slippery slope premise already. But I doubt that’s even a thorn in any sensible mind. Rights are infringed in a couple ways with a couple caveats, but I don’t see anyone pushing them past the simple caveats.
And who the hell ever said anything about tolerance and understanding? Read this very very liberal document and get back to me about how it pleads for tolerance, understanding and compromise in the face of oppression. http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_transcript.html
I’m pretty sure it spells out what truths are self-evident and what any right-minded person should do to uphold them.
Or maybe these words from one of the most liberal men ever?
It is easy getting into holes and corners, and talking of reconciliation: But do such men seriously consider how difficult the task is, and how dangerous it may prove, should the continent divide thereon? Do they take within their view all the various orders of men whose situation and circumstances, as well as their own, are to be considered therein? Do they put themselves in the place of the sufferer whose all is already gone, and of the soldier, who hath quitted all for the defence of his country? If their ill-judged moderation be suited to their own private situations only, regardless of others, the event will convince them that “they are reckoning without their host.”
If your argument for the betterment of the balance of society and government is all about me me me, mine mine mine, I have zero tolerance and even less understanding for your argument.
Iffen you think there’s a slippery slope for the 2nd and 5th Amendment rights to protect, then maybe we need to revisit every state’s laws against ex-cons owning guns?
I think you can get past the conservative canard about being “tough on crime” (not “easy on rich fucks who own and/run penal institutions”… making Russia and China look like they’re soft on crime). You’re most successful argument is that ex-cons are no longer “felons” after they serve their sentence. Hey! Once they do their time… for committing their crime… they done!!!
Dude! That is some off the deep end of left field shit. I’m no fan of Harry “glass jaw” Reid. But you need to bring up something that doesn’t slap me in the face… and the shoulders… and sweep my feet… and then brain me with the stench of guano loco. http://www.snopes.com/politics/conspiracy/nevada.asp
What angry linked above has been going on for years… decades. The rich are trying to take away common spaces from you and me and everyone. When they own that property, those Second Amendment rights you think some pasty, scrub-necked tree-hugger is supposedly trying to take away from you will be shit on the same lands you used to hunt. I’ve run into it already, and I was just carrying a fishing pole.
Imagine if I had a house downtown in some town and some rich fuck wanted to put a mall there. The “blight” that would be my home stands no chance against what Republicans have been systematically implementing for over 40 years. Oh… the outrage against Justice Stephens is still so very loud right now. That wasn’t some whackadoodle distraction contrived by the right so they could control the narrative until the next big thing could distract the blind.
No! They were serious about that… and still are?
But go ahead and conflate tweedle dems with Republicans just so you can throw your arms up in disgust about the whole thing… or just distract.
Is there an issue with Snopes now? Tell me… is your belated link provided because you found it to be one of several informative references listed in the bibliography… of that Snopes article?
Aaaaahhhhh!!! Snopes ees leeberall!!!! Aaaahhhh!!!!! They’re trying to make me marry a gay terrorist and atheistic illegal alien and then get a abortion… not at gunpoint!!!!! Aaaahhhhh!!!!!
Reid ain’t my boy. He’s just another religiously connected buffoon powering through life because his constituents are morons or benefiting greatly from his power. I feel so bad that he and his son lost money on this venture (not).
Maybe they can build a baseball stadium on that land instead?
Just admit that I was right about Reid and his slimy shit sack son, and that your knee jerk reaction is to protect liberal douchebags no matter how slimy they are.
For the record, I never said anything about the Bundy ranch spectacle. All I said is that Reid is a slime ball and he’s a self serving piece of shit just like Bush, just like Cheney, just like Barry, just like Clinton (Pick one).
Ftr, you said “they’re all,” and you list a bunch of right wingers. And if you want to contend that, then list actions, not politi-speak crap which is designed to look like actions.
I’ll give you an example.
Look at how they all treated gay marriage (and gays in the military). Obama made it real and was unafraid to speak to it being an egalitarian essence… in his first campaign. How long did it take for him to actually do something even remotely resembling his campaign? Reid came out in “support” for it by saying he would vote for it if it ever came to a vote in Nevada. Yeah… okay. I will put it on record right now that I will vote for the unlicensed shooting of flying pigs if there are ever flying pigs.
If it’s something, anything, that did not make a profit historically but now does because of government giveaways to private businesses, then it’s not anywhere near the center, let alone being to the left. If it’s something that belongs to you and me but is being given away for private profit… same thing.
Barry and Reid and the Clintons and Feinstein and Schumer are all left wing liberal fucksticks and as a card carrying Kitzhaber voter you know that Damn good and well.
Just stop babbling around the point and admit that you were wrong and I was right and Harry Reid is a piece of shit and everything I said about him is true.
I didn’t say Reid wasn’t a POS. But you’re gaw-dam wrong if you think he’s liberal in any fiber of any part of his being… or even his shed hairs. Schumer, Feinstein and the Clintons are the same.
Follow the fucking money. It’s not like it’s that hard…
… BENGHAZI!!!!!!!!…
… to see that those people all have the…
… SOMETHING-GATE!!!!!!!!!!!!…
… same corporate overlords. Of course, if you’re a complete moron, you might bite on the…
…. MY TAXES ARE SACRED AND SHOULDN”T BE STOLEN BY… BY… BY… JEWS?…
… distractions thrown out by the corporate owned media and decide that “leftist” is anything north of southeast.
And if you come back and tell me I’m babbling and make no sense… please do so soon. I don’t want to waste my time doing flyovers.
Oh… I don’t know why you brought him up. But Marion Barry was an actual liberal. So good on you there for finally finding one. The idiot thought drugs were more fun than his principles. So there’s that. But he was an actual worker bee with principles when sober.
That’s more than we can say for everyone else on your list. Shall we run down the list of everyone you don’t name?
do what I did. Turn in your voter registration. I refuse to participate in a broken and corrupt system. Maybe if enough did the same they’d finally get it that it’s a fucked up, corrupt, broken system that doesn’t work. He who has the most money usually wins. No politician gives a flying fuck about your, I, or Joe taxpayer. We’re the ones getting tip, shaft and balls. They’re too busy pandering to whoever donates the most $$$ to them. So I took my ball and went home. Fuck em all.
Please tell me why I should continue to vote? For someone who doesn’t give a shit about you or me. Participating in a corrupt system where there’s no winners, only losers when it comes to average ordinary people?
I know you think you’re smarter and more informed than everyone else here Jack. WE GET IT! It’s the typical liberal mindset. Plain as day and I can see right through your narrow ass. If you were the polar opposite hardcore bible banger I’d see right through that as well. But there’s enough people like me who’ve had enough. Record numbers of low voter turnout. Some of us have had enough. Keep stripping those constitutional rights of those that are fed up, government getting bigger and see what happens. It’s already happened once.
If that’s liberal, then color me liberal. Constitutional rights are taken away from those who are persistent.
Persistence is not the hallmark of quitters. Apparently it’s the hallmark of liberals like me.
I may think someone who runs a Zodiak alongside a ship in order to keep it from dumping nuclear waste in the ocean is just a crazy fuck. But I sure as hell respect the fuck out of his persistence.
But I think he dated himself once about a year ago when he spoke of his wife’s passing. So 40 doesn’t shock me. And if you know any widowers, old fogey syndrome isn’t really a surprise either. There is a certain cut-and-dried view on life when your better half isn’t there to temper your thoughts.
It makes sense. It’s just anti what I’m saying. There’s a missing “not” before persistent… or I suppose it could go in front of taken. It’s still pretty easy to understand.
Is it philosophy or ability with these relievers? Seems like way too much nibbling with the game I watched on Friday night. Throw damn strikes, if they beat you with a nice hit, then tip your hat. All of these full counts are insane and not good for the defense either.
Was it surprising? Casey keeps putting out terrible lineups, and Oregon is good. I didn’t watch today’s game to see the lineup, but I’m sure it was poor use of the players, and probably the usual Gabe Clark batting 4th and doing nothing. Then the bullpen…that’s on the players. But the lineup is on Casey.
If you’ve watched the ducks in any of the pac-12 games they’ve played in, they are not good. Can’t hit, worst fielding team in the Pac-12 by a wide margin.
I have to agree…after watching the Ducks play, it’s not surprising that they are having trouble in the P-12. They are nothing like the previous three years.
Okay I take that back. I looked at the lineup, and that’s the best lineup all season. Nobach or Ice should bat 2nd, though. Nice he got Carey in there. Gillette needs to be at 3b. At least he’s improving the lineup…still unwatchable until he gets it right, though.
either that or the Coug game back in 2010. I have to say though, that unlike Riley, Pat keeps trying new lineups. Clearly the team over achieved against weak competition early on. They might still make the playoffs if they can sweep the Stanford and Utah series, and carry the others. From here on they should win almost every Friday, and most Saturdays. Sundays–ugh. They might not be taking the early series, but they’re not getting swept by ostensibly the best teams. Bull pen stinks, and the offense doesn’t have enough clutch hitters to get crooked numbers in more than 1 inning, if that. my big takeaway: as time goes by, this season and probably into the next, not capitalizing on the talent last year with a #1 seed will ache for a long time.
So Riley was Lucy yanking the football, and the relief pitchers are Pigpen stinking up the mound with bad pitching. We’re assembling a whole Peanuts cast here
Baseball is like this year’s basketball team. Everyone thought they were going to be bad and then they surprised the hell out of us by winning way above expectations before they eventually were bad at the end.
I feel the basketball team had a great season and expect to say the same thing about baseball. All the freshmen are getting valuable experience for the future.
Go Beavs!

What is the Far West Classic?
Was an annual basketball tournament the Beavers hosted at Memorial Coliseum at Christmas time that was one of the top non-conference tournaments. They regularly brought in big time opponents in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Thanks.
Before my time.
Yup, I saw Magic and Michigan State play. It was a real 8 team tournament. Win and advance.
Beavs won it all every year for more than a decade.
go beavs. beat oregon
My father used to take me to the Far West Classic when I was very young. We always sat right behind the cheerleaders, and now that I’m older, I completely understand his train of thought.
With age comes wisdom…. or a transformation into Jack ;-)
oooooh not that!
Fear not, cj, with any luck dementia might take us instead
Unfortunately, I think I’m packed for the trip…
Was one of the great over Christmas break parties–with some nationally ranked teams to watch.

Different sorta tournament. FWClassic was an early-in-the-season 8 team program, versus the end of season tourneys with way more teams involved.
Since we’re on basketball at the moment there is this from CBS Sports via Connor at O-live…
http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2015/04/cbs_sports_includes_oregon_sta.html
“Expect this team to finish in the top half of the Pac-12.”
And suddenly beavers broke out into hives and sneezing fits in the presence of expectations. Anyone have Benadryl or an EpiPen?
Nope. Can’t win in Corvallis.
No train station?
They going to get tonight’s game in with the impending weather coming?
Man the lifeboats! Two more joining Nigel Williams-Goss and jumping the sinking ship on Muttlake
http://washington.247sports.com/Article/Nigel-Williams-Goss-Darin-Johnson-Gilles-Dierickx-Leaving-UW-36720310
Giles D was known. Johnson is something of a surprise.
Morrison with a 2 strike/2 out RBI single. 1-0 Beavs t5
An errOr puts beavs up 1-0
1-1
Geez, all sorts of silly errors this year – double error this time!
Two routine plays f’d up on the same play. Gretler can’t make a throw to 1st, then Ice fails to catch before attempting the tag. Sheesh!
Charles Manson sitting behind home plate in a white hoody.
He’s still creeping me out
good grief what horrible play
Gabe Clark with an an epic fuck up. I don’t think I’ve seen that before.
Yep we’re a (womens) basketball school now :-P
Not since Little League…
My thought exactly.
Angry’s guy Clark spaces out, forgets the 1 out situation on a pop up and is doubled off of first. Sheesh….again.
I think even Riley might pull a guy who made that kind of mental error!
Nah, Riley would just give him a quick but duly stern jiminy christmas blast and confiscate his Big League Chew
Is it just my bias, or do these announcers really enjoy sucking duck
Note that we’re on ESPN U tonight. It’s only because of the quack marketing. We can’t get anything off Pac 12 net on our own lately
The Beavers are unwatchable at this point. This just looks like a battle of teams that aren’t very good
Horton is fat, is that why he gets so much face time? Is Pat Casey there? Don’t believe I’ve seen him on TV all night.
Mass exerting gravitational pull on the camera? (yay science)
Lol. Whoreton has his own orbit. Literally
More plunked him, smiles, cause I do believe that the ball was in fact over the plate.
Moore hits a quack in the back…. at least there’s one beaver producing hits tonight!
too bad he didn’t drill him in the head. Might have knocked some sense into him since he’s already made at least one poor life decision.
Literal side of me says bad whiskey!
Humor side says SO TRUE
Phi Knight would mow down an 80 year old grandma in his Escalade if it meant the difference in winning a natty
sad beaver :-(B
another poor base running decision runs the beavs out of an inning.
Why did they send the runner?
because herp derp derp, therefore duh, ergo brain fart, QED
IDK if the 3rd base coach gave him the stop sign and he ran thru it or waved him home. Either way it was not hit deep enough to warrant sending him imo.
Parker seemed convinced there was no stop sign, just a mistake by coach.
Just poor baseball. Who wouldn’t want the sacks juiced with one out?
These announcers chins have to be sore from the all the quack nut sack bouncing off of them all evening.
especially for a 2-7 team. But they’re the best next to last place team in the nation!
They’re going to waste another good performance by Moore, giving up the unearned run and only scoring 1 run on 9 hits. Only in the bizarro world do you get three hits in an inning and don’t score.
Spot on. Moore trying to do it all, involved in several plays as a defender, We’ve seen him grow so much over the last couple seasons.
that ball didn’t even fucking hit him! Not only that it’s like watching Barry Bonds who would practically stand on home plate taking away the inside
There’s Pat, he lives!
Moore over 100 pitches with BB
Top of the order coming up for the t8, this is it?
Hendrix with a lead off HBP
It’s a moot point now but what the heck is Hamilton batting second if his job isn’t to bunt Hendrix over? But doesn’t that just make it easier for coaches to decide to pitch around KJ?
Harrison comes thru with a 2 out rbi. 2-1 Beavs after 7-1/2
Moore goes to the mound with a 2-1 lead. b8.
Moore puts the tying run on. 121 pitches
Enough.
Agreed. That last pitch was supposed to be down and he left it up. He’s gassed
At some point you have to depend on your pen
Moore out, Heimlich in
A couple of LHB coming up then a bunch of RHB due.
Heimlich makes up for theWP buy getting the K
T9. Still 2-1
Nobach with a nice diving snag in left to end the 8th
Lead off walk for Nobach
1st and 2nd, 2 out for Hendrix. Whoreton waddles out to the mound to bring in his closer. Scotty, I think I just witnessed his gravitational pull as the entire duck infield moved towards the mound as he sauntered out there.
2 out t9, do ya run for Ice? Lund has shown he can handle D, wouldn’t have said that a month or so ago.
Moot, as Hendrix can’t take advantage of a 3-1 start to go down swinging.
Hendrix strikes out. Damn. On to the last of the 9th, 2-1 Beavs
Needed another run. Bummer.
Need good pitching now.
I’ll give credit where it’s due. Those last two pitches by Cleavenger were pretty nasty. Tough to lay off those
Please bullpen, can we please go 2 innings without allowing a run? Pretty please with beaver on top?
unfuckingbelievable. This team cannot get out of it’s own way sometimes. No need to rush that throw. Tied now
Well shit.
Unfucking believeable. Another unearned run. 2-2
Hahahaha one strike away to an error for the tying run in…. good grief
Good grief is so right; outhit these jerks 11-2 and still have this mess. Maybe not this year, but in the past whorton seems to win so many games on HBP and opposition errors.
I blame the walk and HBP. Those don’t happen, this game is over
I don’t understand why Luke was pitching to all those RHB. Why not Hickey?
posted below. So far Heimlich has been more reliable but he isn’t a sure thing either. This bullpen is garbage
Can’t help but laugh at this game. These two teams are playing awful. Beavers are just crapping all over themselves with the infield defense
Stupid question: Why is Heimlich our main reliever when he has a 5+ ERA?
His ERA is now 4.7, the runs tonight were unearned and he did had a pretty good WHIP coming in.
I suppose you could walk 20 players each inning and then strike 3 out and have a 0.00 ERA… Maybe the 1-4 W-L stat is more telling.
I believe, if you walked 20 each inning and struck out 3, your ERA would be 153.00 for 9 innings.
That is assuming no errors, HBP, etc. You would have 23 AB, 20 BB, 3 KOs, 3 LOB = 17 runs per inning x 9 innings = 153.00 ERA.
I thought runs scored by people who were walked count as unearned?
Nope, they are earned runs. Friday’s un-earned runs were because of the two errors on the second baseman even though the walk plated the winner.
What if he struck out the first three batters, the third gets on because of a PB, and then you walk 20 in a row?
Let’s see…you’d have the bases loaded, 18 runs in and 2 out.
But does a PB give you earned runs?
No. Passed balls are like errors in figuring earned/unearned runs. So all 18 runs are unearned. Unearned because the passed ball was on the 3rd out and all the runs scored after that.
And, the bases are still loaded with 2 outs.
Interesting. But a PB doesn’t count as an E… does it? What if it’s a WP instead? Since it’s the P’s fault, does that make the runs earned?
And I guess that can extend to when the P is the one who makes an E to extend the inning. But I would guess the latter is an example of when the official scoring doesn’t discriminate in terms of who made an E and just scores everything unearned after that. Is the WP scored the same?
Unlike a PB, WPs lead to earned runs. It’s tough.
I used to umpire in Little League and got caught a couple times on the technical stuff.
I can see the beavs losing this game easily in this next at bat. Pathetic
#$(&#^^@($)#(@))$(&^^$*#)@
you got to be kidding me???????
So Moore has a 2 hitter through 7 and gets another no decision.
7&1/3
why hold the runner at first????? He is meaningless!
Fuck
Jesus, another walk. Sacks juiced with 2 outs. It’s a conundrum. Pull Heimlich and go with Hickey? Neither is reliable
Hamilton needs to ride the pine. His .233 BA and his 2 errors tonight aren’t cutting it. Donahue could use the experience and Caleb isn’t getting better
Fuck and Fuck and Fuck
Wow, what a pathetic performance! Incredible.
Actually, Moore had a fantastic performance coupled with some pathetic performance.
Coupled with some pathetic performance backing him
ridiculous
Hickey walks in the winning run. Shocking
Wow ucks score two to win it without a hit. 3 runs on two hits
I feel bad for Andrew Moore. His record is getting shafted by the rest of the team.
yep. Another gem spoiled by errors and a shitty relief corps
Shit! Now it’ll take the next two to settle for a series win when a sweep was really needed, and possible.
Where the heck do you start to tell these guys what they did to drop this one; the list is so long. Feel bad for Andrew.
The Beavers stink. This team ain’t making the postseason. The bullpen is a joke and the hitters aren’t good.
It is weird to not have an experienced closer.
Forget experience, I’d take one whose ERA is lower than his GPA
Karma wasn’t letting the Bears take this game after all those gifts
Run them until they puke. Unacceptable to lose this game. Too many errors and walks. How in the fuck do you lose a game when your opponent has 2 fucking hits?
Clarification, you outhit your opponent 11-2. Ducks got 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th without getting a hit
Aside from brillant pitching from Andrew Moore, that was about 4 hours of some of the worst baseball I have seen in a long time? Was it nerves being on ESPN?
ESPN U…. I sure hope not!
Starting to lose my interest in this Baseball season. After literally throwing that game away, just don’t have much faith in this squad. Best pitcher Moore did fine and outhit Orwgon by more than 5x and team still ends up losing. Casey needs to get this team’s head on straight.
Guessing u never watched a game before we won a national title and we will sure miss u as a fan.
I am not a big fan of Nate Yeskie. Haven’t been for a few years now. I think Oregon St can do better
Jesus Christ almighty. Even my dogs couldn’t stand hearing this shit and started yowling. As awful as crank it like a chainsaw and Randy the Logger
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY01LjQy9xE
That better be a duck freshman’s film class project because it sure looks like it
I thought I was gonna have a seizure so I had to stop watching it
“You’d have thought they’d won the World Series, the way they carried on after the game. Fact is fellas, you still suck. It’s just that we, collectively, sucked more than you tonight.”

Dear EugeneDave,
You sound just like Mike Bellotti.
I’m blaming Charles Manson for giving our guys the jitters and piss poor play
With the camera view it looked like the black guy sitting next to Charles Manson did not have any eyes so it amped up the creep factor even more.
I was watching the situation passively, but as the game got more and more boring with all of the walks to the mound, it finally dawned on me that something bizarre was going on behind home plate!!!!
Welcome to Eugene, Oregon!
I know, I lived there for 7 years!
at least you got away from there.
There were still too many bad plays (including passes thrown up for grabs, fumbles, tackles in the backfield, etc.) But it was MUCH better than last week.
thanks. always enjoy your recaps.
as someone who takes in alot of practices, where would you say this team compares to a riley team at this point in the spring?
fall camp is a long ways away, so I’m hopeful they can clean up the passing game quite a bit between now and September. also afraid its going to take some time before we really start seeing what this offense can do.
Once again, thanks for the report. I always appreciate reading your observations.
Jumping ahead, I like the idea of Tanner holding for XP/FG. Already salivating over the possibility of a Sanders pass off of a fake FG!
Thanks for the reports.
I would be very happy with a regional birth for this young team. And then a you never know, a pair of good weekends, etc.
PEKO ALERT: http://www.gazettetimes.com/albany/sports/beavers-sports/football/osu-football-peko-a-pleasant-surprise-for-beavers/article_512a52f8-af44-5590-8fc6-289724e9c7cb.html
A 3.0 GPA last term!! And, “Kauha’aha’a said Peko has shown that he can direct the defensive line play from the (nose tackle) position.” Also, “He needs to steer the ship up front and he’s doing a good job with it.”
Who’d a thunk it? Still, seeing is believing.
He’s only at OSU this one year? Did he lose a year of eligibility by practicing with the team last year?
he had 3 years to play 2 if I recall. He’s wasted the last 2 attempting to get eligible.
Disappointed to see Gabe Clark in the lineup again tonight. DH, hitting cleanup.
Disappointed anyone who played last night is playing after that disgraceful performance
So, Clark gets a chance at redemption with sacks full and no out. What a piss poor swing to go down on the 3-2 count. The poor swing and head down trip to the dugout says a lot, and if baseball is a mental game then he is in a bad place.
Whole team has the same look. Not a confident team
Clark doesn’t disappoint. Strikes out on a 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded
I think I’ll check back in 3 hours. Beavs went 0-4 in the t1 with RISP but get a gift run. Should’ve been a big inning.
I can’t find the game on dish. Anyone else with dish able to get the game?
Still on the women’s softball game on P12 network
Pac12net/bonus
In Napa, CA I have Comcast. P12 channels are ucla at usc, Stanford at Cal, ucla at usc again, and softball uw at ua. P12 scheduling concepts really suck. I also have asu/ua one espnu. But no civil war game unless I feel like watching on a computer :(
Napa, California? I was born there. 40 years ago today
Happy Birthday, keep breathing!
thanks. believe me, my sons have been harassing me all day with, old man, fat and forty and just about anything else they can think up
Happy B-Day, Whiskey…I just read the comment. May the Beavs deliver a win for you.
Thanks. I hope so too.
I tried to find contact info to complain…impossible!
I haven’t watched the past couple series. Casey is playing the wrong guys at the wrong positions and refuses to change, so watching it only frustrates me. Not worth it.
I thought the outfield has looked decent, but the infield is a mess.
No Caleb Hamilton so guess he’s in the doghouse from last night’s epic fuck up that cost them the game
And it was a major fuck up because he compounded missing a routine grounder by making that atrocious throw. A decent throw, even if late, at least keeps the run from scoring on that play and then who knows what happens with the changed circumstances.
yup. couldn’t agree more
Let me know when Clark and Hamilton are benched for good so I can watch baseball again.
This is going to get ugly. Rasmussen gives up a leadoff 2b and then BB. Both on full counts.
And Oregon takes the lead on a balk. This is atrocious baseball
I think Rasmussen blew his wad throwing that perfect game against Wazzu
In the last 2 innings of the series Oregon has scored 4 runs on 1 hit
I don’t have P-12 Network, is Manson and his minnions at the game tonight?
KJ Harrison bails out the team with a huge three run double to make it 4-2 Beavs
gonna need to score 10 runs with the way the beavs have been pitching lately. save for Andrew Moore
Not to mention fielding
Not sure about 10 with Oregon’s offense but definitely 6-7. Team has shown an inability to tack on runs when given an opportunity and it’s cost them games
and on Sunday 10 runs would’ve helped!
Oregon’s version of a hard hit is their hitters leaning their elbow into the baseball
Over the plate
Rasmussen walks the 9 hole batter with two out then give up a single and HBP to load the bases. Has thrown 55 pitches and he’s not through 2 innings yet.
Does this team have anyone who can throw strikes besides Andrew Moore at this point? Can you fine college players for hitting a batter with two strikes?
Gets Tollman swinging on a 3-2 pitch. 61 pitches I think. He won’t make it past the third inning at this rate.
Maybe with a RHP now on for the ducks we can see a PH for Clark next time through.
Parker just said on radio that Tanner Sanders is moving back to QB with the departure of Del Rio
77 pitches from Drew in 3 innings, 1 hour and nearly 40 minutes.
Not as egregious as Clark’s last night but can’t be too aggressive on line drives like that
I don’t understand why Howard or Cary wasn’t batting for Church there. Gretler (.212) and Ice (.215) battling to stay above the Mendoza line.
Greater just fans for the second time tonight and drops to .208 with Nobach at 2b. Beavs 1-10 with RISP
A seven pitch inning and Rasmussen makes it through 6. Stands at 110 pitches now and seems to be getting stronger as the night wears on.
Rasmussen leaves the game with one out and a runner on. Fox in to face LHB.
I rather watch the 70’s Orioles than the 2015 Beavers!
Just when I was going to say that Fox might be the bullpen answer he gives up a two out BB.
But he gets Chase to foul out.
He just got Chase out. Am I reading that right, Fox has only pitched three innings the entire year?
7 and a third total after tonight. ERA is 0.00, 4 BB, 8 K, 3 hits.
Game is now on pac-12 network on dish
God, I hope we can hang on for half an inning.
Gretler is not inspiring any confidence for the third base situation.
As I hit submit he makes a diving catch a on a line drive. Guy still can’t hit though.
Excellent!
Get the series tomorrow
Beavs win 4-2. Win the series tomorrow boys!
Found a relief pitcher who can throw a lot of strikes.
Wow. Beavs win. Turned it off at the end of the fourth. Both teams are not very good at this time.
Let’s just hope Manson doesn’t make an appearance this afternoon.
Today is his conjugal visit day so I think we’re good.
Given the fact that our heroes apparently gave up a 6 run lead, I would say his presence is being felt.
Casey not happy with the P12 for scheduling 7:30 pm games in the PNW. Amen to that. Says the duck pitcher throws 94-95 so patience at the plate key today.
Hendrix moves to the 4 hole and King batting 5th. Clark out with the RHP.
Schedule it and then not show it…WTF?
Donahue commits an error on a ball right at him. Ugly.
And once again can’t find the game on dish. UCLA/USC or Stanford/Cal the only viewing options
And UCLA/USC is on 2 of the channels!
Casey said that Eckert’s problem has been the inability to get batters out on 0-2 and 1-2 counts. Clairvoyant as Tolman is 0-2, fouls a couple off and gets a basehit.
No damage done. 0-0 end of one
More lazy D from the Beavs.
So much for that lead.
Off topic, but people should probably know Republicans are trying to sell public land.

You can sign a petition at the end.
http://www.bollier.org/
And the Democrats are trying to take away our Second & Fifth Amendment rights!
This isn’t the same country I grew up in…
Not with the Beavs bullpen. Eckert out, Shelton coming in. 9-4 now
So you’re not voting for Hillary in 2016?
If people are smart, no one will vote for her. She’ll keep the tradition going that Obama & Bill has left us with. Difference between her and Bill is she won’t get any BJs.
We need to fire EVERYONE at the level of Governor and above and hire new replacements…it’s sad times we are in today. All politicians seem to be sitting on their thumbs and are only concerned with re-election.
Sorry to go political but I’m getting pissed off with what they are doing to us. With no repercussions.
Yes!!!!
What were we talking about?
you go girl! Keep on keeping on with the status quo, burying your head in the sand.
you’ve been in Eugene too long. Here’s your Faber attitude
http://gifsoup.com/view/1338544/remain-calm-all-is-well.html
You have a lot of words in your posts, but don’t say much…
Huh?
You can’t play the illiterate card by predicating it with straw men.
You made my point for me!
What point? Giving pink slips to politicians? Or are you talking about your straw men?
And it never will be.
WHAT FRIGGIN’ POINT?!!!!!
Is it some double super secret point that you’re refusing to share with anyone?
My friggin’ point. Obviously you missed it.
Both Democrats and Republicans suck. If people haven’t figured this out yet, than they’re too far invested into the asinine game of politics.
couldn’t agree more!
Well that goes without saying
We all agree.
So when the fuck are we actually going to have someone to vote for? Rather than voting for the best tasting shit sandwich?
When we pass an amendment disallowing private money for campaigns.
So… never.
that and we do away with political affiliations. Anymore it seems like voting for the lesser of the two evils. I am not the only one that has a problem with that.
Vote for something else.
Done.
yes cause that is proven to work.
Because it’s never happened before.
Feel free to add to the list of acronyms above, btw. There are several financial ones as well.
and I did. I voted not to participate. Just like many others have. Done!
That’s not a decision. That’s quitting.
Like I said, keep bleating
yes because everyone or thing you’ve voted for has changed a damn thing. Baaaaaaaa!
No, I live in a country founded by a revolt from tyranny and taxation without representation.
Did I say anything that remotely disagrees with these sentiments?
I don’t even deserve a no, let alone an argument.
you can argue all you want.
Wait… Fifth?
I’m not a kid like Whiskey, been around you know!
Can it, you’re starting to annoy people by not making any sense at all. Go back to your Duck buddies.
That’s my line. But I guess you’re a newbie. So have at it.
So… what precisely is the danger of this law? I’ve stated the slippery slope premise already. But I doubt that’s even a thorn in any sensible mind. Rights are infringed in a couple ways with a couple caveats, but I don’t see anyone pushing them past the simple caveats.
babble on…you keep making my point.
Good luck arguing with a liberal. Tolerance and understanding. Unless you disagree with them.
That point being?
Yeah. Look in to Harry Reid traveling to China on our dime so he can line up Nevada public land sales for his son to broker.
They’re all scum. I’m fucking done.
Since you didn’t link, I looked.
But go ahead and conflate tweedle dems with Republicans just so you can throw your arms up in disgust about the whole thing… or just distract.
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE87U06D20120831?irpc=932
Snopes? Seriously?
Your boy Reid is a piece of shit.
Ummm… yeah? Seriously Snopes.
Ha!!!
Reid a liberal?!!!!
Now that’s funny.
Really?
Ummm… that’s what they want.
WTF man?
I’m not smarter.
I care enough to participate.
Quitter.
Dammit!
*Zodiac
Yep. I’m a quitter for playing a rigged game. Keep bleating Jack
Why do you think what say makes sense?
You’re a quitter because you quit.
Does it get any easier than that?
continuing to play a rigged game is a losing proposition. Do you continue to keep playing when the house wins every time? It’s not any different.
Even if you’re on the wrong side, continuing to “play” is not quitting.
If I’m Cool Hand Luke, you’re telling me to stay down?
Fuck that shit!
Or we can just go humor. In fact, I propose any political arguments that take place from here on out need to be videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAR7zUOpxOc
Hey! I just read on another thread that it was your B-day a couple days ago. Happy belated man.
I was surprised when Whiskey said he was only 40. This was always my mental image of you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7X2_V60YK8
that will be me in about 20 years.
http://www.quickmeme.com/img/fb/fb75997bd18456cc1a80b97e9a7e88d9c734522e73a6aa6ae145c5da20f33093.jpg
and yes I do have no trespassing and no soliciting signs. I wanted to make a sign that read
There is nothing in this dwelling or on this property worth risking your life for. Because if the dog doesn’t get you, I will.
Signed,
.357 Magnum
But I decided it was a bad idea to announce that I represent gun toting, meat eating fuckin people. Thanks, Denis
Agreed.
I would expect the same from myself.
I’ve got a “No Proselytizing” sign on my door.
I can’t believe those idiots don’t know what proselytizing means.
Proselytizing…that’s what the football coaches are doing right now for the class of 2016.
Yer third paragraph, second sentence doesn’t make sense. Is there a misspelling or is it just lack of thought?
It makes sense. It’s just anti what I’m saying. There’s a missing “not” before persistent… or I suppose it could go in front of taken. It’s still pretty easy to understand.
Oh.
Hendrix looks nice in the cleanup spot. Too bad nobody on here talked about him not be used best in the leadoff spot.
No outs and 2 RISP, time to put the boot on the uck neck! 5-3 good guys with more to come?!
After a nice 0-2 single by Cary, Ice with a picture perfect SAC. Hamilton up with 1 down and…..2 RISP
9-3 Beavs now
Ducks playing some beautiful ball.
Does anybody feel comfortable with this lead? Me neither.
Wash out yo mouth, ain’t nutin’ beautiful about an uck!
But, yeah, it will take another good inning at the plate to feel at all comfortable.
Our pitcher blows.
9-6 Beavs after 3 innings. Some awful pitching going on today
3 run HR ties the game at 9. Good lord this bullpen could not be any worse
This bullpen is a joke. Complete embarrassment to be this bad
Bullpen needs to walk home from Eugene
Tater Salad serves up a three run tater.
Get Reser the F out of there!
Must not have had enough mustard
Wow! A six run lead isn’t enough to win with this bullpen. (Or is it bullshitpen?)
Forget the bull it’s just a shitpen
Nothing more frustrating than walking a guy that hits .175
You can see better defense in the Canyon Lake Little League.
see above comment
And the Beaver bats disappear in the late innings again. Haven’t scored since the third even though they had a leadoff double in the sixth.
As Beaver baseball fans we have been spoiled by the consistently good pitching over the last 10 years.
The amount of walks is so frustrating to watch.
Is it philosophy or ability with these relievers? Seems like way too much nibbling with the game I watched on Friday night. Throw damn strikes, if they beat you with a nice hit, then tip your hat. All of these full counts are insane and not good for the defense either.
Tailor made DP ball and Donahue boots it and next batter single to give the ducks the lead
Second error of the game by Donahue
I guess if you do throw strikes and the defense can’t catch the ball, that’s another story too.
Why does Heimlich have so much trouble with LHB?
I’m really missing Andy Peterson.
Well, the Beavers can kiss the postseason goodbye. Disastrous series loss. Oregon is horrible. Inexcusable series loss.
Well if they take 2 of 3 they’re better than the Beavers.
Much, much better relief pitching.
yep. Outside of Andrew Moore there is no other arm on this team that is consistently reliable.
Yeah but no one’s accusing us of being good either, lately
I have to agree…after watching the Ducks play, it’s not surprising that they are having trouble in the P-12. They are nothing like the previous three years.
Bad news bears defense and really bad pitching. PC shuffled the lineup and Clark sat today.
It should have been a laugher.
Okay I take that back. I looked at the lineup, and that’s the best lineup all season. Nobach or Ice should bat 2nd, though. Nice he got Carey in there. Gillette needs to be at 3b. At least he’s improving the lineup…still unwatchable until he gets it right, though.
Lol Gabe Clark pinch hitting.
K on three pitches?
Gabe Clark struck out looking…..big shock.
Would help if he didn’t get hosed on two calls that were clearly off the plate
Home plate ump wants to go home
Clark strikes out looking with the tying run aboard. 8 AB this series and 4 K
the microphone on the duck fans …jeez, they sound like rabid meth heads.
Who’s the lurking Duck in here, throwing out the negative ratings?
Casey told Parker that Friday night’s loss was the worst of his career, this can’t be too far behind. What a shit weekend of Beaver baseball.
The bullpen is the team’s biggest weakness but the offense just doesn’t tack on runs. 9 runs through 3 innings. Scoreless the final 6.
puke
Is this weekend Casey’s version of the 2013 Washington football debacle?
either that or the Coug game back in 2010.
#1 seed last year was misleading. They were slumping big time at the end just like the WBB team.
How is the bullpen this bad? We should vote on nicknames:
1) bullshitpen
2) shitpen
3) bolognapen
4) puppypen
5) The Incredible Pitching L’s
6) other?
The pigpen.
So Riley was Lucy yanking the football, and the relief pitchers are Pigpen stinking up the mound with bad pitching. We’re assembling a whole Peanuts cast here
penissuck
Face it. We can (and might) win three of five against that team. But that doesn’t make our team any good.
Can we get a smh emoji for this blog?
Baseball is like this year’s basketball team. Everyone thought they were going to be bad and then they surprised the hell out of us by winning way above expectations before they eventually were bad at the end.
I feel the basketball team had a great season and expect to say the same thing about baseball. All the freshmen are getting valuable experience for the future.
