94 degrees today. Ouch.
Probably really humid too.
Does a sticky ball and heat help the change-up thrower or the high velocity bulldog?
My bulldog always loves when I have sticky balls in heat
Honestly, I’m more worried about the poor field configuration. The OF can’t get any good runs on flies near the line, and they only have about 10 feet of foul territory before they hit a fence.
Game over.
That was fast!
Now all of you understand why I predicted a Vandy sweep days ago. This team has UCLA pitching with hitters that can smack it all over the park.
Holy shit. Thank you so much Carter Bell for not catching a rolling ball from the outfield. Would have been out number 3 with a 1-0 score.
Wow, Talk about wheels coming off after getting two groundouts. We can’t afford to play from behind on these guys.
i’m in florida and rhe humity isn’t that bad on the second day with heat of 90+ .° out. So I think we’ll be fine tomorrow.
Wow, huge error. Double play turns into 1st and 2nd. Need to capitalize to get back in this…
Come on, boys, GOOD at-bats.
Fail.
Need to make them pay for that error.
These at bats are so horrible. 2 pitches and another double play.
Is it just me or are some of these plays at first really really close and it seems like the umpire is just going with the celebration of the first baseman?
Finally a decent looking at bat at least.
Gutty effort, Beavos. lol
8-0 for those who aren’t watching.
Sorry to be a poster on this forum, but the only reason they are right now is the gift they got after getting whooped by the ducks. I feel for the beavs, But this is similar to what happened to the ducks softball team.. I really wanted them to go the distance, but I think they peaked a little early this year. Hopefully they will be ranked #9 next year.
I’m in shock. Judging by the lack of comments, I’m assuming other people are as well. My thoughts through four innings:
1. I can’t believe have inferior we look all the way around. We seriously look like a tripe A team playing against the MLB club. Hoping to win, but not expecting to.
2. Goss stadium is probably twice the size of Vanderbilt’s stadium, but even on TV it’s astonishing to me how much louder and into the game their fans seem to be than ours have been during home games (even the regional).
3. I hate that I love Oregon State athletics so much.
ditto on #3
Not watching the game, but when was the last time Sam gave up 8 earned runs in a game? Is he not getting calls, missing spots, or just the v bats are too much?
Arizona?
The last time Sam stunk like this was Zona.
TIme to grab a glass of whiskey and hope the Bruins can pull one out over Vancouver tonight.
’til tomorrow Beavs. Lets grind out these last three innings and put some runs on the board.
Same result tomorrow. This team has what we don’t have, HITTERS!!!
National stage and another embarrassment. *sigh*
OSU Pathletics for the Win….or loss.
Oh well, at least a men’s team made it to the post-season. That’s a rarity in this, the worst year in OSU athletics history.
Ahhh… I understand it didn’t end well. I turned it off after the fourth batter because I recalled the old maxim, “Only good things happen when you walk two guys with two outs.”
I get it. We’re playing possum.
HERE… fucking non-Amercan naval rank (or old computer gaming system which I still have).
We’re waiting to play a game against you!
The Pac-10 goes 0-3, losing to the Big 12, ACC, and SEC.
It’s funny…in the Oregonian Beaver fans are whining about Vandy’s heckling. Uh, welcome to everywhere except Oregon! Being from back east originally, I should have written that they’d need thick skin to win this game. I guess I just assumed players could handle that.
“He made fun of me…he called me a Beaver but he didn’t mean the animal, he meant a vagina!…waaaah”
Just because fans were complaing doesn’t mean that it bothered the players, not so sure on that front. Remember our fan base median age is like 95, of course they can’t be made fun of.
I have to figure that heat/humidity bothered the players. We gave up all of our runs on two outs. I think our guys gave up mentally assuming that they were close to going to the dugout to rest. We usually looked sharp until there were two outs on the board, pure mental weakness.
Well, Miss State came back from a blowout yesterday to win game 2, so maybe there is hope?
