That's right, this firm's representatives have been deputized as Oregon Special Assistant Attorneys General, to conduct an investigation of the Kelly / Lyles recruiting scandal.

That’s rather sad. I hope Nikegon does the right thing and dismisses them. They already have the stigma of covering something up by hiring “the cleaner.” But to add the stigma that an officer of the law who represents you would break the law in order to protect monied interests is not what Nikegon needs right now. That goes well beyond cheating.

I highly doubt it would cause UO to move away from this law firm as they probably already have completed most of their defense case.

I don’t think that this tenuous link will change the way NCAA views this topic. It is more upsetting that the Oregon DOJ might continue to support this law firm with our tax dollars. Of course, this is the DOJ that employed the corrupt Frohnmayer, what else is to be expected?
Exactly…hence my sentiment of not giving a rat’s tookus about the whole affair. Oregon is protected by a lot of money. I don’t know why Beavers distract themselves with worrying about it when they could be giving Bobby D and Smiley Riley “the business”

The fly in Oregon’s ointment is that the rest of the college football world, like the powerful SEC, wants them to go down. So I cant see the NCAA holding back.
Great day/night for college football. Dynamic formations and plays. Overloads and matchups that really made you think. Teams that use the 4-3 changing things up to 3-4 and then using all out blitzes. Teams risking everything. Freshmen making complicated plays without excuses or apologies. The pace of the game for winners and losers today/tonight has been fantastic and stimulating. Oh how I hope Beaver coaches were seeing how the game is played in the present tense. Mack Brown proving that the era of the ceo coach is near an end and Bill Snyder proving that the mediocrity of Kansas State is a great mediocrity to emulate. Tyran Mathieu/Justin Blackmon proving that the amount of stars designated by rivals/scout for college recruits means very little in the long run.
My worst nightmare. My alma maters arch rivals playing each other in the Rose Bowl. I want to puke! MSU gave the game away at the end. Interesting matchup from a stylistic standpoint. Will have to plug my nose and root for the Ducks since I live amongst the Fadgers. This season really sucked.

For both questions: 1974 UNH Wildcats. Gordie Clark, Jamie Hislop, and Cliff Cox scoring 3 goals in a little over a minute against RPI in the ECAC final. Great hockey, that, and Holt’s teams were always worthy of some accolade or another.
Not bad. I think the 1961 Denver squad would have an argument, but my personal favorite was the Hrkac Circus.
And just because I’m biased… I’m going to say that the triple OT Wiscy at UND WCHL tourney win was not only the most exciting, but it was also the most political. I watched that game from beginning to end, and the goal that was disallowed in OT was the second most dramatic hockey moment I’ve ever witnessed. And Chris Chelios defiantly coming back on the ice was the third.
And I speak as a biased Sioux fan.
Of course you all thought I would just homer to any number of Harvard teams. I see how you all think. That kind of fantasy is not allowed within family discussions. So I won’t feign ignorance here.
And just to make myself the contrarian to the contrarian, I have never understood why angry dislikes Joel Skotte’s game. I personally love the kid and his skills. And now he is enjoying a state championship due to his skills.
And remember at the beginning of the year when I said that Gavin Andrews was an elite lineman who was highly underrated?
Well… Andrews manhandled Arik Armstead as Granite Bay beat Pleasant Grove for the section championship.

The tape says his bench is only 310? I find that hard to believe. He is tossing guys around like toys out there. Anyone know the level of competition he is facing in this film? Because he certainly looks like a man among boys here.
His bench is ok for a D-1 recruit but his squat and clean are impressive- both those say explosive power at the snap of the ball. He is going to get stronger in a very short amount of time- he has a great base to work from.
Yeah, this guy is going to be good. I wish we had some camp footage of him to see his fundamentals up close. I really like the look of him though.
I like Andrews even better than Suemalo myself… not to take away from Suemalo though.
I literally had a smile on my face the whole time I was watching that video. What impresses me the most about him isn’t how he pancakes people (most guys that are his size in high school can do that), but how he finishes the play and is always looking to block somebody in the second level of defenders. A lot of linemen in high school have a tendency to stop once they’ve blocked their primary man.
Between Andrews, Seumalo, Weinreich, and Bays I have to say I’m pretty excited about this class’s offensive line recruits.
I was about to type the same statement. This guy is special. I hope we can hang on too him. I have a feeling others are going to come after him. He is 6’5 315 as a 17 year old boy, give him 4 years and he will be a monster. I hope all the linemen we have incoming can stay healthy.
Anyone have early insider info on how the JUCO visits went this weekend? When is LOI day for the early JUCO transfers?

That is not a search committee I would like to attend.
Bond, Schoeneck & King is a huge firm that specializes inter alia in employment law and collegiate sports. As such it isn’t surprising that they’d show up all over the place when it comes to all manner of NCAA issues. The rightness or wrongness of what has happened at Oregon, Syracuse, or Penn State isn’t going to hinge on who they select for their attorneys.
That’s not the point. The point is that they are deputized as law officers in the State of Oregon, and their past actions do not garner the trust or respect required for such an appointment. They are likely different actors in the two instances, but they might also be the same. As in the case of a conflict of interest, perception is as important as reality when it comes to trust and honesty in any law officer.
I think it’s interesting how admired, legendary coaches like Paterno and Boeheim behave so badly when confronted with serious issues outside of sports. They actually act like dictators with their distorted view of reallity, which I suppose they are.
