    • Wait, now I see that the “tanner” guy on the left has blue eyes so this means that they’re both probably Caucasian, so Tanner must be from outside the Pacific NW.
OR… he gets free fake-and-bakes from a booster.

Angry, my bigger concern about your budding cartoon career is the obvious trademark infringement of Mr. Schultz’s Charlie Brown. Just eliminating the black stripe and shading his shirt closer to Beaver-orange ain’t gonna sway any jury in the inevitable lawsuit coming your way.
      Good grief.

    • Oh come come sweet effing Charlotte! We have seen WAY stupider things around here.
In fact, I’ve been involved in at least a third of the debacles we’ve witnessed.
      Here’s the short list:
      1) Pettibonehead’s wife going to “lunch”.
      2) The general response I got from singing the praises of Chipster’s on-field leadership persona.
      3) Jack.
      4) Beavergopher’s unfortunate selection of rooting for two rodent-schools who are about to be clobbered by Wisconsin, again.

  1. I don’t know what that cartoon is, but all I know is that I’m watching College football Live on ESPN at midnight friday and there’s a sweet beavers helmet over Joe’s right shoulder when he’s talking about the 4 team playoff. Foreshadowing? Seriously, the Beavs helmet is getting serious camera time. Is anyone else seeing this?

  2. Gee Angry, I interpreted your cartoon all wrong. I thought it was depicting a football player meeting BDC on the sidewalk outside the student union at lunch time. That’s how our AD dresses and carries his lunch to work. Darn!

  3. Disappointed!!…I thought you were going to share some inside information on the new and exciting Lost and Found service that BDC has promised this fall as a Reser fan enhancement.

I know BDC is working tirelessly to make Reser a secure venue, like my Mom’s assisted living facility.

Making certain that no fan will ever leave a glove or sweatshirt behind is an exciting first step! Starting this fall the only losses will occur on the actual playing surface. JB

  4. The problem is that we can not even attract good walk-ons any more.

Will the new lost and found be located under the new or old grandstand? I am planing on losing my lunch during the WSU game and want to know where to find it.

    • The reality is, the trap door to football oblivion was open long before this year. It started when Riley refused to make changes when changes were needed. It’s the longevity of failure that you are seeing now. The question is, how long with Beaver Nation tolerate failure and losing seasons and more civil war loses.

      • Can someone please tell me why Danny Langsdorf is still calling plays on offense?
Also, why hasn’t Mark Banker been able to stop any mobile Quarterback ever?
Does Nicholls State have a mobile QB? If so……. we’re effed!!!

        • Last thing I heard was Riley is going to call offensive plays this season. Wow! Truth is why have a coaching staff if, as head coach, you are going to do their job. If MR does do the play calling it could be even worse.

As far as Nicholls State goes, I think they won only 1 game last season and that was a pre-season game. If they beat the Beavers I think we should just forfeit the remainder of our games. I don’t know much about their QB.

    • I didn’t even realize that they were updating they football facilities. I think Ucla and us are the only programs not updating their facilities.

  5. What a great video. A young, energized and motivating AD. Did you notice the last goal on his list……Compete for Championships. This is the kind of communication by College Athletic leaders which instills confidence withing the ranks of staff, coaches and players.

We have an old has been of an AD and a head football coach who doesn’t even know what changes need to be done to win and keep up with the rest of the Pac 12. I really like the enthusiasm presented by the Arizona AD in this video. Thanks for sharing with us.

    • reminds of the old days under Erickson when he would be asked what his goal was, the answer was always the same: “compete for the Pac 10 champsionship.” I don’t think we’ve heard it since he left (in football, that is; Casey continues to evince that thought.)

      • wannabeav, your right on with the statement about Dennis. I have tapes of pre-season interviews and he always mentions his and the teams goal of winning Pac 10 championship and then he said “it just gets better from there”. This is the stuff that motivates the team players and staff.

Another thing Erickson and other “real men” head coaches have said after losing a game: I plain got out coached. Never heard that from Riley. He always blames parts of his team, defense or offense. Nice guy my foot. As I have stated before he has no goals and he doesn’t motivate anyone. He puts on chap stick and chews gum and smiles on the sideline. That’s it.

        • Riley >Erickson.

Don’t get me wrong I love what Erickson was able to do in his stint in Corvallis, but I think he is an under achiever. His teams usually have high expectations by local and national media and year after year his teams fail to reach that. I would rather have an over achiever than an under achiever.

          • He won two national titles, took OSU to a Fiesta, and ASU to a Holiday. Riley’s greatest achievement is a Sun Bowl.

Erickson got old. In his prime, he was a much much better leader of a program, if not head coach.

          • Angry. I remember you saying the other day that Riley wasn’t able to capitalize getting a running back after quizz, but what about Erickson not being able to capitalize after the fiesta bowl? I mean that is a program changing win, and he wasn’t able to get us to a bowl game the next year?

Also those Miami teams, I think anyone could have coached them to championships, those defenses were lethal.

    • To be fair, Isaiah Crowell didn’t seem to know there was a gun under the seat. Otherwise he would not have consented to the search(I think).

It would be like if you consented to a search of your home and the cop found a dead body in your attic that the last guy had left there.

He was dismissed from the team because the team did not need him anymore with Keith Marshall and Gurley coming in. He had a good, but not great, season last year, and Georgia wanted to make some room.

  6. I’m not sure old Coach Perry knows how to use modern recruiting tools. A four star running back received the following text:

    “##^68hdu (0120?3 Uj8**9d 7e jjj &654 )984h@” Coach Perry, Oregon State Football

    • No man, thats just how kids talk nowadays ole mikey. You got to get on their level. gotta know that text speak.

      Ok.

      3 days later

      r3q214 33125!$ #534$ #% 15jho5 Mike Riley, Oregon State Football.

      • Here is what Riley says to recruits……….you just got to sign with OSU…..we have a half completed stadium, we lost to Sacramento State, we have had two losing seasons in a row with the last one with a huge 3 wins, we have an Athletic Director who doesn’t know what to do, we are losing players left and right and we haven’t won an instate Civil War rivalry game in 3 years. But we can give you all the Reser’s burrito’s you can eat.

  7. Derek Turituri to arizona, he’s the OLB from crater lake. Willie Loman and his coaching crew aren’t doing so well. Big recruiting weekend for OSU. All the people you’ve offered are commiting to other schools.

      • It’s been proven over the last several years that winning doesn’t automatically secure future recruits for osu.
It comes down to the recruiter selling the program in any environment. Having a winning program and a track record for putting players in the NFL are helpful for the recruiter I’m sure, but a successful recruiter will use other tools when those aren’t available.
It’s sad that our recruiters couldn’t even keep the ball rolling when they had those most valuable tools at their disposal. Maybe they got complacent or put TOO much value on those tools. Or maybe those tools aren’t as important as I think they are.

  8. So pathetic. That is what mike Riley and Oregon state is turning into. There is nobody to blame besides the head coach. I have been a mike Riley supporter this whole time, but that is done. Heh as got to go. To old, boring, and has no ability to recruit, that is a terrible combination for a division 1 football coach. I could bring more passion than mike Riley

    • “…There is nobody to blame besides the head coach….”

Imo the AD has to share the blame. If it were up to me his head would be the first to roll.

  9. How can any Beaver fan make snide remarks about Reser’s great donations?

I say it is on Riley. His winning years were rewarded with a long term contract, that surely expected more of the same. Instead he gives the play calling to Langsdorf and lets up on recruiting.

    • Money has a way of keeping people silent. One of ABC/ESPN’s largest donations come from Nike ads. Who owns and runs Nike, Uncle Phil. If you want answers follow the money, its the same with the US government. Obamacare isn’t just about health care, its also about the government being in control of 1/7 of the US economy. Bottom line is money = power. Nikegon has a lot of money, and the lack of morals needed for nothing to happen to them.

      • ….so you are telling me that USC, tOSU, etal, have no NCAA influence? No big money boosters to take care of a litte funny business?? I do accept your thesis, as money does indeed talk, but the big SEC schools, big 10 schools, have been playing this game longer than than Phil Knight.

In any case, they started an investigation and announced that results would be given in June. To say nothing has the wrong appearance.
