  1. I want to create a petition to allow readers of angrybeavs.com to vote 0/5 stars on some of your posts. It’s not fair that we have to give at least 1 star if we want to vote. Please fix this.

Also, while you are creating online petitions, will you create an online petition to bring back the television show “Terriers.” Man I loved that show and I just know that this online petition thing will bring it back.

    • Translation: “you guys are better off not signing these petitions because nothing will come of them…nothing to see here.”

Have much stake in the status quo? You know, Warren Buffet is so vested in the status quo he talks up Jamie Dimon for treasurer. Next you’ll be recommending Langsdorf to replace you as AD.

      • No, translation: “You are a clown.”

Your second comment makes no sense but I do like you sticking with the whole “You are actually Bobby D in disguise” joke. You’re just killing it today.

It’s funny, I actually think Langsdorf should go. I just hope our head coach does not make personnel decisions based on online petitions from fans who don’t even go to games (or even online petitions from fans who do actually go to games).

  2. I dont believe it, beavit….

I think disenting voices are significant, even it its just one.

So keep plugging for that tv show….

  3. I am solidly in BeavItOrNot’s camp. I think this online petition is silly and pointless.

I think your “you’re Bob’ routine is tired and silly. Argue the topic, stop taking your arguments into the gutter. If you don’t want honest debate, why run a site like this?

      • Ah yes, folks with dissenting viewpoints are trolls – this does sound familiar doesn’t it? For a site that is built on being a dissenting voice, its leader and his Angryannas are sure intolerant of opposing views.

          • You are falsely equating censorship with intolerance. You would agree that someone could be intolerant of another’s views without censoring them, correct?

          • I think you’re falsely equating intolerance with disagreement.

            1
: unable or unwilling to endure
            2
a : unwilling to grant equal freedom of expression especially in religious matters
b : unwilling to grant or share social, political, or professional rights

I’m willing to endure you and grant you equal freedom of expression. 2 b doesn’t really apply.
I just don’t agree with you, and you’re abrasive so I make fun of you.

          • You’ve been making fun of me? Don’t you have to be funny to do that?

The first online definition I found (since we are playing that game) reads as follows:

“lack of toleration; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc.”

Clearly, insistently calling folks who disagree with you, or point out how silly your petitions are, “trolls” reflects a certain refusal to respect contrary opinions or beliefs. Again, wouldn’t you agree?

          • Pretty sure I didn’t call you a troll. Anyway, according to that definition you are intolerant, and thus a hypocrite. The bottom line is you want more of the status quo and/or feel we’re stuck with it, so everything is pointless (if we’re stuck and can’t make changes that’s a clear sign there have been errors along the way). I don’t think we’re stuck. If enough people don’t think we’re stuck, we won’t be. But 23 votes isn’t enough, yeah.

          • You have called me a troll before. And it really hurt!

You don’t know what I want. If I had my druthers, Langsdorf would be gone (hopefully not because of an online petition). CR would be gone if he fails to turn things around next year. But Riley and DeCarolis? I don’t think they’re the best football coach or A.D. on the planet, but I think they are both very good and I am not confident we could land anyone better if they left tomorrow (especially Riley). That doesn’t make me complacent in my thinking, it makes me realistic.

I just want this site, the only site I read on Beaver athletics (again, better than the rest), to be honest in its analysis and when it gets shut down post-UW, or when petitions start getting created (by the way, where’s the Fire Riley Petition?), this site looks dumb. I guess I am just paternalistic and want to keep you on track. Basically, I’m a superhero. I am Batman.

        • You didn’t provide any points. You just dissented. You literally said “No need to try and enlighten you…”

‘Enlighten’ us and we’ll take you seriously, until then it’s just a poor troll.

  4. Yeah, I’m going to go along with the ‘silly and pointless’ camp that seems to be settling in here. Real change will come about from donors/alum, not some guy with a blog.

  5. I dont think any petition is silly and pointless, unless it is actually expresses no point, and is done in a manner to appear silly.

Is suggesting Langsdorf is not competent, silly? I dont think so. I agree that he should go. Is it pointless to suggest such a firing? Not if you think he is incompetent.

Does an online petition, signed by relatively few people have any impact? Is an opinion expressed that way, silly an pointless? Why would anyone think that? It documents a certain number of people having a particular opinion. The opinion itself is neither silly nor pointless, so documenting it cant be silly or pointless, either.

I cant see it having any sizable impact, but since it takes some effort to set one up, it is of some significance that it even exists.

Movements that change the world are always small when they start. If the occasional dissenting opinion had been suppressed 240 years ago, maybe there wouldnt be a US.

What worries me, and should worry any American is that anyone would tell someone with a valid opinion that it is silly and pointless, or that expressing it is. History says otherwise.

The power of suggestion is huge. You dont want to sign it, fine. But saying it is pointless is , wall, garbage. No one can see the future

    • I don’t think angry made his point. Documents were not well written, they looked like a first draft. Should have let it simmer for a day and gone back for a rewrite. Didn’t see much in the way of quantification in the argument. How about donor $, or attendance at sporting events?

Don’t necessarily disagree with his point but I wouldn’t sign a petition written like that.

  6. wish angry would have put more thought and facts into these petitions. They have some validity but the reasons need to be clearly stated or they come off as 100% amateur.

I completely understand you don’t have time for this, angry. Nor is this your job. Just saying, they’re coming off as ‘I got nothing to say cause its mid January……..ummm……..fire people!…why? umm because they suck!’

I think its why you’re seeing a low turnout.

  7. Need to mention LAngsdorf’s and BDC’s pros and why they may not be as pro as we think. That’s what makes strong arguments.

Such as: Langsdorf’s best season was as a play caller in 2009, and it led to stud seasons by Canfield and the Rodgers brothers. But this was a fluke season in his years as OC – if you look at XXX years. As well, 2009 had a stacked roster of offensive skill players and the losses OSU had were because XXX

Further I have no idea why craig’s petition wasn’t the first to be created. Dude is a trash coach. At the very least throw Stewart or pomeday on there.

  8. CR may not be great at coaching basketball but BDC is still probably 10 times the problem CR is. Image wise he is awful, he doesn’t create much excitement in the programs, has outdated ideas, poor marketing and is satisfied with anything above.500 whether in hoops or football. He’ll take one pretty good year and reward it like it was 3 or 4 great years in a row. He is failing most in generating excitement for OSU in young people’s minds. OSU is nationally irrelevant too much of the time, and part of that is his old fogey approach to management and promotion.

    • and he needs to be kicked in the nuts for giving CR an extension. Why on earth do you give a guy an extension for a couple of appearances in the CBI????

      • Because he can recruit and because he’s the president’s brother-in-law. Oh wait, maybe the reason preceeds his ability to recruit…

Like others, I enjoyed the improved recruiting under Robinson, I just expected more wins to follow. They haven’t. A quick strike is needed – hire a legitimate coach that the current roster won’t walk away from before he gets here. Otherwise I foresee another setback on the long, slow climb to hoops legitimacy.

Who in the name of Gary Payton ever thought OSU football would be top 25 and hoops irrelevant?
