Dee Andros SI Article

I mentioned I saved the Dee Andros SI article in the prior thread. They had deleted it from their site, but turns out it wound up in their “vault”. If you want to read the entire article, it’s here.

Many old-timers on Blitz and other sites claimed that Andros got labeled a “racist” because of this, and it lead to the 28 year losing streak because no African Americans wanted to play for OSU. Any old-timers here who can confirm or deny that? I also heard the 28 years was due to the AD not caring about facilities or sports, in general. Maybe a mix of the two and other things?

Either way, I haven’t had a “historical” article up in some time. Seems a good time to revisit this one. Keep it at least on the topic of sports. General thread coming next week.

Have at it, guys.

PS. I’m seeing concern over WR, QB, and RB in these threads. Call me crazy, but I think those are three of our best positions. OL and DBs seem like the weakest positions. On paper, this is our best team since 2006…barring injuries…and actually playing the season.

PSS. Good job sticking to zero/minimal politics. Try for the same here.

So, no politics in this thread. A gentle admonition. Anyone doing so will have the post deleted as the first warning. 1 week temporary ban as the 2nd warning. Discussing the virus’ effect in relation to sports is fine. Just none of the political crap. I’m so sick of it. It’s mentally unhealthy.

Feel free to discuss personal topics of interest to you that aren’t sports, as well.

I was saying in the last thread that the CWS victory is on YouTube, and I might rewatch that this week. I really miss baseball (more MLB than the Beavs, but both). I feel MLB “dropped the ball” in that there is no reason they shouldn’t be playing games right now without fans. Just rearrange the schedule and play in alternate locations. America needs baseball right now. They’re saying by July 4th, and that’s just a total disaster in their ability to adapt quickly.

Football: what positions concern you the most? What do you think the odds are we have a season? What players are you most excited about? Etc.
