    • While it’s a pipe dream to think he’ll sign, at least Riley is pursuing a higher caliber of athlete. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut.

      • We also offered some 5’6″/150# JUCO kid from Faulkner U, Moses Mayes, yesterday… so said he.

But then he also told a beat writer for UCONN football that he committed to them last night. But then UCONN football says they have no commitments, and this Mayes kid isn’t on their radar.

        So I’m doubting OSU offered.

    • It really is not uncommon for some top level talent to check out the program in the Spring and Summer. Many make trips up here and check out both schools, and have been now for the past five years. What is uncommon is if any of them have interest in us in the Fall.

  1. OT. Most expensive joint ever?
Michigan’s Mitch McGary to enter NBA Draft after failed drug …

  2. read between the lines

Eventually, he stopped fretting over a fan base’s wishes. He concentrated on his game. He thought about the basketball IQ he hopes to develop, about the passing skills he plans to hone.

Mounting losses were a factor. After growing conditioned to expect wins at Jersey City’s famed St. Anthony High School, Cooke felt unsettled ending his first college season with defeats in eight of his final 11 games.

“I know I’m far from a finished product,” said Cooke, who started the Beavers’ last 18 contests. “I know I need to improve my game, and I just wanted to put myself in a situation in terms of learning and making myself better.”

In other words, I want to go somewhere that I’m going to get taught those skills by a better coaching staff where we have an opportunity to win. And that isn’t at Oregon St.

Yet baldy continues to sit on his fat ass and do nothing. Worthless AD

  3. Way OT, I’ve got some fuckng critter running wind sprints in the joists between the main floor and the upstairs. House was built in ’23 so I’ve had other critter issues, but this is a new one. Any suggestions?

      • Has Horton always had that huge of a gut or is Phil Knight’s money providing multiple “Izzy’s opportunities” for George? He looks like the Phil Fulmer of college baseball.

    • There is nothing wrong with that. Next to a Beaver win, a Duck loss (in any sport) can turn a crappy day to the positive in a heartbeat! A cannot stand any “I root for the state” bullshit. The Ducks need to lose as much as possible!

  4. Ben’s a great competitor. Like the decision to pull him here though.

Two outs to go…c’mon boys lets beat these bums.

    • Yup, 125 pitches is enough (79 strikes). Once Ben got Yeskie to let him get the K on Chase he didn’t seem to lobby as hard to stay in for Grebeck. It wasn’t easy or pretty, but that is the kind the great ones find a way to win!

  5. Some borderline bulletin board material from ucks AJ Balta, who went 0 for 4 with two K’s. Balta on Wetzler, “Obviously a great pitcher but not the best that we’ve faced,”

Who knows, maybe the best Balta will face would strike him out all 4 AB’s? Go get him Andrew and Jace! Just play your game and force Balta to deal with it.

    • After reading the linked article on FB, I clicked over to the R-G’s story on last nights baseball game. Interesting, they too quoted Balta but left out the part I cited above about Ben being, “…not the best that we’ve faced”.

  6. I missed the game last night due to a work function but plan on being at Goss tonight. I am looking forward to seeing Casey’s roster for tonight. Other than Hamilton, no one at the bottom is producing. What’s the deal with Morrisson? Lack of confidence?

  7. I went to #9 OkState at #10 Texas last night. Great weather, great venue. 6230 in attendance. So twice the seats as Goss, but tickets were also half the price. It was a great game, and i am biased, but i do believe the rankings were correct in relation to okst/texas/osu, imo.

  8. After 6 straight years of losing the CW, Riley ought to be taking the football team to one of these baseball games for motivational purposes.

Anybody know if he ever does anything like this?

    • I saw Garrett and Cav at a game earlier this season, Parker mentioned Luke Del Rio being at last nights game, but no, I don’t know if Riley has brought his squad to Goss. Seems like a good idea and something that fits Riley’s character…..even more than wearing a Blazer’s jersey!

Didn’t CR bring his guys to a couple WBB games this year?

  9. Cleavinger’s little outburst upon getting the third out follows some immaturity shown by another uck pitcher last night.
How long do ya leave Moore in with the 3 run lead??

  10. Bring the brooms tomorrow, Beavs win 4-2!

Tonight may have been a turning point for Moore……Schultz did a nice job getting ahead in counts, too bad about the HBP…….looking for Reser to settledown next time.

    • That was a huge, gutsy win. To come through in the B8 like that. These are two very good baseball teams. Even though one of them, I’m sure, is tied to Al Qaeda.

  11. Aaron Fitt tweets that Moore’s velo was 88-90.
Parker says folks are tweeting that Cleavinger yelled into the Beavs dugout during his little hissy fit, anyone have details??

    • I only had radio too, but Parker also was screaming that Cleavinger didn’t hold the ball long enough and it should not have even been an out. Ducks are just assholes, they can’t help themselves.

  12. B.King in the starting lineup, batting 6 and playing 1b.
Two things from Casey’s pre-game talk with Parker: -once again he mentions how his young guys are getting worn out, mostly mentally (I think) but first year in college ball a lot different from HS.
-kinda classy IMHO, no discussion of the uck temper tantrums or Horton’s apology.
    GO BEAVS

  13. Conforto goes yard on first pitch. After 1 it’s 1-0 good guys.
1 run in the first reminds of a slogan from the 11th ACR…………”Find the bastards, then PILE ON!”
    Go Beavs, pile on!

    • Through 5, 85 pitches with 8 K’s. Jace doing well, not great with 2 BB and 2 HBP.
Can’t leave him in too long, gonna need 3 or so innings from the pen.

  14. Absolute chickenshit move by the duck 2nd baseman pulling Hamiltons foot off the bag with his leg after he whiffed on the tag. But what can you expect from the ducks?

  15. Nice t7 for Fry, now at 112 pitches. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start the 8th before being replaced; do ya give Reser another go with this lead? Maybe Eden? Got to save Schultz, right?

      • To me its a very good thing. If the players all are behind CR, and support him, its that much harder for him to be shelved. And the players who go, have a shot at a better situation. Win-win…..

        • Yeah… that’s one thing that confuses me about all the weird whining. Most of it is just projection, to be sure. But if those whiners weren’t trying so hard to manufacture a mountain they might see that the molehill is still there for kicking.

Either Coach Rob gets around to winning next year, and the whining will just continue. Or he doesn’t win and just coaches up to OSU football standards and gets canned.

On a side note, Barton leaving was expected. Robbins is another people talk about as being grumbly over last year’s role.

  16. U Dub is hanging tight and USC is looking to be a tough out at their place. Can’t have any off days.
Really need Keyes bat back in the lineup. Go Beavs!

  17. Sweeping Oregon was huge. Big bump in the rpi and keeps a lot of pressure on uw.

The only small concern I have is the bullpen. With the starters pitching well, it leaves little game action for the rest.

  18. This year has been a good one but not as good as last year. This team does not seem to click like it did. Next year really scares me. Gone will be Conforto-dradr, Keyes-draft, Wetzler-draft, Shultz-draft, Peterson-graduate. Ruili-graduate. And I would be shocked if Fry and Davis do what Boyd and Wetzler and Shutlz did and pass on the draft. Fry will be an early draft pick but Davis stock has dropped a lot. He should return after seeing what Jake Rodriguez is going through this year. Any comments on the draft or 2015 team?

  19. Ok great now Barton is gone too. He sucked but at least had experience. Now CR will have to face a massive rebuilding job with one foot out the door, and over a half decade of underachieving play to try to sell to kids? Good luck! Hopes for a 15- win season just flew out the window. Now more like 6-8 wins next season tops. We maybe even go winless the whole way vs conference teams again. SHIT!!!!!! GREAT JOB INKING THAT EXTENSION BDC, NOW WE WILL BE SIGNING THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR FOR FOUR MORE YEARS BEFORE WE CAN GET A COACH THAT KIDS MIGHT ACTUALLY WANT TO PLAY FOR!!! AND UNTIL THEN WE GET TO PAY TO WATCH A COMPLETE SHIT SHOW TEAM AND COACH…. BDC SHOULD HAVE TO FIGHTJOHN CANZANO FOR BIGGEST SLEEZE BAG THIS SIDE OF THE ROCKIES! I HOPE CANZANO WOULD ALSO BE WOUNDED AND LEFT IN AN UNCOMFORTABLE STATE AFTER THE MELEE. BDC VS CANZANO. THERE ARE NO WINNERS.
