It’s insane to me that in this modern era, there are still untelevised / unstreamed games. Do they think there would be no audience for the f’ing season opener?
I don’t get why we would agree to participate in this tournament every year if they can’t be bothered to aim a damn camera at the field.
You’d think the Pac Network would want to showcase their best baseball team (in recent history) on opening day.
Maybe there will at least be one of those ghetto university cams.
Seth Collins father thinks OSU fans are in for a treat. I hope so. The guy can’t really throw, though, so that’s a problem. But hey, Mickey taught Rocky how to box so there’s hope.
Well, only about 2 months until spring practice, right?
This QB competition seems so unpredictable. Gotta think the more mobile guys have the edge though since they have been insistent the QB run game needs to be a factor. So I think it’s likely McMaryion, Collins, or Mitchell.
I recall reading somewhere that Baldwin said the team will just run the ball if they can’t pass well. That seems to rule out a 2014 CSU type passing offense which I think really hurts Del Rio’s chances. I think the would rather be a run team rather than a pass team. Honestly, the run still dominates CFB compared to the NFL so I think that’s a good call.
Baldwin was very run heavy his last year at USU with the freshman Chuckie Keeton. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Collins the starter with his amazing run ability and asking him to complete the easy passes.
I mean, look at college QBs like Tebow or Troy Smith. There’s a reason they couldn’t cut it in the NFL, but they were amazing college QBs. They don’t have to hit small windows and their offenses are designed to get fast players wide open.
On a lessor level, look down south at Masoli or even Thomas. Not great passers, but they got the job done while leaning heavily on the run game.
This lineup is terrible. Hendrix leadoff, Morrison 2?
Why not bat Ice leadoff? He had a .400 OBP in conference play last year and decent speed. Move Hendrix down where he can drive guys in. Morrison is weak hitter for the 2 slot. You want your best hitter there.
Ice, Hendrix, Harrison would make more sense than this. Ice’s OBP is wasted in the 7 hole with very low odds 8-9 can drive him in.
b7, 1 out, runners at corners.
Wow, I’d sure like to be able to see this action, Jay R. tries, but there is nothing like visual. Seventh inning was good to the Beavs several times last year, maybe will continue today.
Runner held up at third on Hendrix single to right, kinda expected a score there.
Somersault catch by Cary, reminds me of the guy who did that a lot in CF last year, making the easy look hard. Who was that kid last season? Max something?
Maybe I’m thinking of Max Gordon, two years ago.
Gonna be interesting when Gabe Clark comes back. Beavers are gonna need him. Team has talented young players but I think the offense will be mediocre until about mid-April ish as the young guys are developing and coming into their own.
It’s a shame because he can only hit non con pitching, so these are games he’d actually be useful. I think he hit under .200 in conference play? Not sure, but I know it was significantly lower.
This team is not going to average more than 3 runs per game if Casey sticks with that lineup. Poor use of OBP there. He needs to change things around. They can probably average 4 by lining up the players more ideally.
Casey usually throws out some odd lineups to start the season but by the 2nd weekend the lineups look more normal. Ideally I’d like to see Hendrix and Clark in the 3-4 slots when Clark is back. I’d go Morrison-Ice 1-2 because they’ve shown to be pretty good OBP guys. That would be a pretty solid 1-4. Not a ton of pop there but they’ll get on base a ton
Go Beavs!
Surprise! It’s time for baseball!
12 pm Mountain Time?
Connor says noon PT, OSU audio link site says 11am PT, OSU schedule site says noon PT………take yer pick.

Don Shanklin 2?

Here’s the lineup:

audio link?
Does anyone have an internet radio link to the game? 1190 am and 1240 joe radio isn’t working when I live stream.
http://tunein.com/player/station/206510/?DB_OEM_ID=30800&partnerId=IJC81DN2
Thanks, that’s perfect. I had my hopes up of burning 2 hours at work listening to the game and was stressing out when I couldn’t find the game.

Ice took it to full count, but couldn’t get on. Lot’s of strikeouts early on for the young beavs.
Leadoff walk followed by 3 straight K’s is not exactly the hot start I was hoping for.
No one in the chat? lol wouldn’t that be easier to discuss the baseball game or no?
Nobody anywhere. I guess that’s why it’s not televised. Nobody cares about baseball except a few diehards
Not true. I was painting and forgot.

Nice to hear Ice throwing out the runner on a K, 2 down for NW in the 9th.
Somersault catch by Cary, reminds me of the guy who did that a lot in CF last year, making the easy look hard. Who was that kid last season? Max something?

That was Max Gordon two years ago
Lead off single in the bottom of the 9th, go Ice. No matter what happens, the lack of offense cost Moore a win, with otherwise a great stat line.
Winning a close game on a balk, like they say, kinda like kissin’ your sister!!
Damn, that was crazy.
Friday the 13th!
Winning a game on a balk lol
A win is a win baby.
Glad they got the win, but that ending was rather disappointing.

Is Clark injured?
Yup but don’t think Jay Reece ever elaborated on the broadcast. Just said he’s out this weekend. No clue what is up, really.
It’s a shame because he can only hit non con pitching, so these are games he’d actually be useful. I think he hit under .200 in conference play? Not sure, but I know it was significantly lower.
that’s what I recall as well. Was an automatic out in conference play and more importantly the regional

That’s a better lineup than what he put out.
I’d probably go:
Ice
Hendrix
Harrison
Cary
Clark
Gillette
Then mix and match the rest based on opposing pitcher.
