At the game. The officials have made a couple odd calls, but man there is nothing worse than being at a game with somebody complaining about the officials behind you.
Good energy, nice to see a big crowd here for a good game. ASU is playing good D. It’s really interesting to see how pretty much all of the OSU players are willing to drive to the hoop.
I think they say the attendance sometime after halftime.
I think this game will go to the wire too, but I like the way OSU looks more right now. More hustle, and the confidence to let the other team play. ASU has to wear out sooner or later if they keep up the full court press.
OSU has broken up two fast breaks that looked like gimmies by ASU since I got here. One was a two-on-one. That’s hustle.
Nice post game interview, Scott says, “I still have yet to earn a T”. Also expresses some puzzlement at the increasingly physical play allowed vs Ruth as the season goes on.
Re: the screen which knocked the wind out of Syd, he says he should have been yelling louder. His voice pretty shot at the end of the game.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for her after she was willing to come back out on the court and take a picture with my daughter and I after the UW loss. It was a hard fought game and she was very positive and interactive with us. Very impressed.
Her twitter profile also gives a good impression of what she is about, but there is nothing like personal interaction. No surprise she paid attention to your daughter.
It was a very good game. You could tell that OSU was having a harder time moving the ball than usual, but they stuck with it anyway and it paid off. I love it when they get the ball to Ruth Hamblin down by the basket and she just turns around and lays it in. It’s great to see how they maintain their poise and hustle even when things aren’t going well for a stretch of the game.
I know I’m in the minority on this, but one of the main reasons I like going to women’s basketball games is because I like going to a quieter sports event (though it’s fun as hell to sit with the Timbers Army at Timbers games). I just like watching the game and applauding when we score. I liked the size of the crowd tonight—I heard after the game it was 5200.
I came home from the game with a squash, it was anything but quiet at Gill tonight. But I know exactly what you’re talking about as far as quiet mellow sporting events, that’s why I particularly enjoy Beaver baseball on warm spring afternoons.
Ran into Sydney before the game…Told her to have a good game, said something like are you going to win…she says “Of course, there’s no other option.” I’ve had similar interactions through work with tons of OSU athletes, not sure I’ve run into one so confident, yet not cocky, but definitely what you’d like to see in your own kid
If they can get the next 3 (UA, @ CU and @ Utah) and they should be favored, lady beavs could have a 2 game lead going into that last weekend with the bay area teams at home and giving chase. Cal and Stanford still have to play each other twice next weekend. In the catbird’s seat right now
angry, you dog.
go beavs!
Sweet serendipity! They’re dressed in all pink, too!
I’m at the game.
Good crowd and they’re into it.
ASU’s D is legit.
Those She-Devils have a legit D.

Did they give an attendance number?
This has the feel of a game that goes down to the wire.

They said 4k on TV. That’s pretty good.
5242!
ASU is really trying to draw the player control fouls. It really looks like they’re playing a half step slow on defense as the game goes on.
I don’t think I’ll be hashtagging that anytime soon
I was thinking the officiating was merely substandard until sixty seconds ago. This is laughable.
You can tell Scott’s mad because he’s standing up.
That was a great game.

Bonus: a couple good shots of Mandy tonight.
She looked very nice this evening.
You guys are such gentlemen.

#34 on Arizona State was 6’2 270 coming out of high school, she looks 6’3-6’4 and about 250 out there. Put her on the defensive line sheesh.
