  1. 1-0 Beavs in the Bottom of the second with no outs. Elliot Cary on Second, Michael Gretler on First with Trevor Morrison at the plate. Trying to learn all these new names tells me this truly is a young team!

      • Everyone on the Beavs is slow.
Speed doesn’t matter with how much Casey bunts. It doesn’t matter too much, in general.

At least bat him 2 if that’s the belief.

        • I don’t wholly disagree. If Harrison is batting 3, then I’m good with Hendrix (who does have wheels) at lead-off. I’m not sure on Church at the 2. Gretler is supposed to have some wheels, which is why he was a pinch runner for Ice in the first game. If his bat produces, he should be 2. Harrison at 3 would be best served with Ice at 4 and Clark in the 5, assuming Clark’s bat swings as well or better than last year.

          • I say Gretler at 2 because his initial numbers are pretty good… I know… small sample. But if Harrison continues to clear the bases or starts getting IWs, then Ice is there with experience and consistency. And Clark behind him protects him as well.

  2. After another single he gets Yeskie’d. Faced 3 batters and couldn’t get an out. Go ahead run now at 1b with Shelton coming to the hill.

    • It wasn’t unexpected. But it’s just frustrating after the last few years where the new guys stepped in and played really well early on.

  3. Beavs have but one hit since chasing the starter in the second. Reliver had struck out 3 in a row before Hamilton get to 1b on the 3rd KSU error.

  4. This is painful. Hamilton gets doubled off as Cary lines out. Pomeroy walks the leadoff guy and 2-0 to the next and he’s gone in favor of Woodward, jc transfer.

  5. Woodward gets the cats in order. Clark triples off the wall to lead off the b7. Ice singles him home on a 3-2 count in an AB where Ice fouled off several two strike pitches.

  6. Hickey replaces Woodward, faces the top of the order. I suppose Casey wants to find out if Hickey is going to be the closer. Hits the first batter. Gets a couple of outs and then walks the DH. Single to CF on the 0-2 pitch and the tying run is at 3b

  7. donahue moves to 3rd by a grounder to 2nd. 2 out 1 on 3rd, Billy King at plate and has a walk off base hit to drive in Donahue! Beavs win 10-9!!!
