I’m sure our little troll will follow us here since you’re all feeding him so well, but 500 comments seemed like enough. Unless you want to try for a record? I can leave this thread up until Fall ball…
Once spring starts we can talk depth chart, position battles, etc. I think it might become interesting fast, but until then, you guys will have to continue to create your own entertainment (play with the troll?) ’cause I got nothing. I find it funny he thinks these posts are critical. He’s going to flip his wig come the season.
Spring ball? Don’t you mean fall ball, or am I missing something?
Yes I meant Fall.
Your level of derangement is revealed here. Screwing up spring and fall? I can’t even.
Coming from someone who posted 27 incoherent comments on the previous thread.
Can’t even what? I mean, you’re dumb enough that if we handed to a screed you would say the same thing. But then it would make sense. You can’t even?
drugs are bad. mmmmkay?
Thanks for the new thread. The other one was taking forever to load.
Soapybeavs question I thought of at the market:
Why does no one but big soap make liquid soaps? As a beaver, I love some good pumping action especially in the kitchen. All I ever see at the artisan markets is bar soap. Is the soap being liquid the issue or is it getting pumps?
Pumping action in the kitchen — the mind boggles.
Liquid soap is a very long and laborious process. It also requires a different lye (potassium hydroxide instead of sodium hydroxide). KOH has historically been harder to find, though with the internet it’s pretty easy now. Most soap makers don’t know how to make liquid soap. So that is one reason. The main reason is the labor involved…to get the KOH to thick “trace” (when the lye and oils are fully emulsified) can take hours. Then the paste that’s formed from that usually sits overnight, and then must be mixed with distilled water. The short answer is labor. It’s a more difficult process. Also, I think most soapers like to create swirls, colors, and patterns, and with liquid soap this is simply impossible and not even desirable. So those are all the reasons.
I’m going to make some soon, actually, so it’s interesting you ask.
Do you have a liposuction clinic that you steal body fat from?
It’s people!
You’ve got to tell them!
No no, I like it. I might be able to get a dozen women in the shower with me with one scrub!
Ewwww!
Just put the lotion in the basket.
515 comments and a simple CTRL-F for “Jack says:” shows that 174 of them were Jack. 34% of comments were Jack talking to himself… is that why they call it Jacking off?
That might be a record, but not earth shattering. There was one thread where Jack was debating with “Anti-Jack” and I believe his Mom. My head exploded when “New Jack” entered the conversation.
The thread was hijacked
No. I’m pretty sure the term existed before I was born. But thanks.
In and out…what the hell is going on??? Will be back when reality resumes. JB
i just stop reading threads after it gets above 200. Thats typically the line where it starts going downhill fast
Matt Boyd goes 6.2 innings in his MLB debut. The ugly is the 3 dingers he gave up. The good is that they were all solo shots and he did fan 7. Left the game down 4-0 to the Rangers.
I’ve always liked Boyd a lot. I think he will ultimately be a left specialist, and a good one.
He is one of those players that you wish there were more of. Great pitcher, great competitor, great leader.
Here is a nice story on him from back in his days at OSU.
http://www.dailybarometer.com/sports/boyd-wants-career-to-end-in-omaha/article_7875a715-1040-5e2e-9a2e-19c2f0f55ffa.html
NO walks which is part of the reason he got the call up, he hasn’t been walking anybody this season. He was around the plate today, maybe a little too much in some areas? I only watched a little bit, but he looked good. I hope he can stick up there, but suspect this was just a one time call up.
Yeah, could be a one time call up. But, this story leaves a lot of room for hope and he sure did better than the last guy in his situation.

From baseball Twitter feed:
Hearing more good news: Cole Gillespie reportedly moving up to the Marlins. That will make 5 Beavers currently in the bigs. #GoBeavs
Angry Beavs? With good reason!
http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/06/26/us-usa-beaver-oregon-idUSKBN0P62JX20150626
A resident beaver emerged from the dam, knocking Mitchell into the Deschutes River and trapping his friend, 31-year-old John Bailey, in a tangle of submerged logs, according to the sheriff’s department incident report.
“This time, I learned, don’t mess with a beaver.”
Mitchell and Bailey were both treated for non-life threatening injuries and are expected to recover. There was no information available on the status of the beaver, the sheriff’s office said.
Wow.
A Dylanish rhyme for Da Beavs who understand It Ain’t Me:
It Ain’t Me Beavs
When you reach around Reser
Striving for your need
You’ll understand, my Beav
Angry has no creed
Run quickly gain an edge, Beav
Run quickly from this space
Angry is what’s left my friend
When soap has foamed your mouth
So, I’m wondering why it is news when OSU makes the top seven of a particular recruit. I really don’t want to hear about it until we make the top three, and then it’s not really important unless they sign, so what’s the big deal? Is it a Nemacteaser? Then we have to hear about a guy who committed to another school who had an OSU offer? We’ve got hundreds of offers out there, so do I need to hear about all the ones that didn’t sign. News must be really slow around these days. I do have to admit, the whole recruiting process is intriguing.
Agreed.
then don’t listen. Filter your own news.
I think the issue is that there are some we want to know about and a lot of kids who are not relevant except in some passing tweet from long ago. Yes, it probably is best to saturate with all of the info and let us decide for ourselves what might be important. But it seems there are a lot of kids we only flirted with for a bit, plan C’s if you will, who end up on the feed.
You’re probably right. Let all the info be displayed, then cut the chaff.
Yes, my point exactly. Well said. Sure, I can filter the news I choose to read, but I tend to read all things OSU. But, the news is so slow right now that we are hearing about what was never meant to be. A lot of speculation and what could have been in recruiting.
i’m not opposed to criticism of the account. Really this is the first so I just assumed the status quo since nobody complained. Thing is, as soon as i decid to start skipping the small stuff, somebody tweets it and tags the account, as in “you missed this”.
All I can say is I’ll try to trim some of the fat, but you cant please everybody, and its not like this is my job. I just do it as a side hobby while I’m working at my real job, and because it’s actually been fun to see this side of things. I’m sure after my next baby beaver arrives next month i’ll have much less time for this stuff anyway, so there wont be as much reason to complain about there being too much content.
Blazer, you do an incredible job with it. In the future I think twitter will improve to the point some of this can be automated.
Thanks, and who knows, after the kid comes i may have more time to do this stuff while i’m rocking a kid to sleep, etc.
You’ll have less time, trust me…
I’m afraid you’re right. My family will just have to get used to seeing less of me when recruiting pics up
And not to be a Debbie Downer but the following evaporates quickly after a child:
1) Sex
2) Money
3) Free time
4. Sleep
You’ll have some time but it’ll be at strange times of the day.
My one piece of parental advice: gas drops.
Babies make lots of farts. Their little guts can’t expel the big farts like we can, so they will be peacefully sleeping and randomly wake up screaming in pain. A couple gas drops will break the big farts up in to tiny fart bubbles that babies can get rid of easily. So they will sleep. And so will you. Trust me :).
If I remember correctly, you gave me the same advice last time around, and you actually saved me and my wife from some unhappy nights. those things worked pretty well, and nobody else we know had ever suggested them.
Haha that’s funny. I remember talking to someone about it before. Glad it helped.
yup. simethicone is a god send when you have a gassy infant.
gas drops? what’s the name and brand?
http://www.mylicon.com/
I’m sure there are several different brands
Also, the more active periods on the site have directly lead to faster growth in followers, so there has been some benefit. My hope is to have this account have the largest following of any of the Beaver related accounts, so if a few people drop it because there’s too much info, so be it.
Thumbs up!
As a die hard Beav, I enjoy the feed even if we’re only in the Top 7. It’s a slow period, so why not.
@beavblazer: A tip of the hat to you my friend. I’d just like to say I’ve really enjoyed the effort you and others have put in maintaining the twitter screen . You’ve managed to get me spoiled w.r.t. Beaver related information.
All the best to you and your family, especially your newest addition.
Thanks mud
I like the info.. top 7 seems fine to me. I mean really someone can just not even follow recruiting and just look at who officially commits on signing day if they want. I like seeing what recruits at least have us on their list, especially if they’re a top rated guy.
Congrats on another little viOlator. 1st what almost 3 now? Good spacing. JB
thanks coach, thanks for checking in while out on your world travels. looking forward to the return of football season so you’ll come around more often.
dues date is 1 day after my other kid’s 2nd birthday. Poor kids will have to share bday parties i’m afraid.
Our youngest and oldest birthdays are 2 days apart.
Yep, … the world needs more BEAVERS!
Suggestion — sleep with the airport hearing protectors on when you need the sleep and someone else can respond to the kid squaling. I take em on planes and got on one badly needing sleep and in the seat behind me was a howling inflant. Put em on and suddenly the kid was in the back of the plane…. ah, heavenly bliss…
BeavBlazer, keep on keepin on! You’re doing a great job and Beaver fans love staying informed and in the loop of recruiting!
It’s not the twitter feed I am referring to, it’s the stuff Nemac writes.
Ok, gotcha, just figured thats what you were getting at since i tweet about top 7, 8, 9, 10 lists and kids who have verballed elsewhere lately,( which happens to be the most relevant news in this cycle lately too)
But like i said, i’m open to criticism, just might not be able to accommodate all of it
The twitter feed is great, ’cause you can just scan it and click the links to what you’re interested in. One of the things I enjoy about reading angrybeavs is scanning for the links you guys put in your posts. I don’t have time for viewing endless sites, but if there’s something interesting out there that people find, I like to check it out.
You talk about Riley missing OSU and his lost puppy comments….I think the Oregonian is still in mourning over him leaving, they keep sneaking in those little AP articles about NU football. I wonder how long that will last? I feel like almost everyone has moved on except Riley and the media.
They can track the hits so if they got no views they wouldn’t run them.
Yeah, I’ve moved on, but I find some of the news about Riley and NU interesting.
Define “move on”, McKalk.
I moved on in that when I think of the Beavs I don’t think of Riley or get rage. But I will definitely be following Nebraska…might watch every game. It’s too intriguing not to.
I’m in the exact same boat. I’ve moved on, but find myself very interested in how things go at NU.
I think more of “emotional invest” when I say move on. The Oregonian was so far up Riley’s ass (and others in the media) that they are grieiving the loss. It was once in a lifetime access for them. I will be interested in Nebraska’s results each week, but I could give two shits that a back up QB just transferred (that made the local paper).
Yeah, glad he is gone, but curious to know what happens back there. He wins the NC, still will be glad he is gone. He wasnt doing zip for us.
I may try to catch the last few minutes of each half, be a lot easier to chuckle at Riley’s game management when the Beavs aren’t involved!
BTW, early line up at the Golden Nugget has the Beavs 14pt dogs at Mich, 16 at Utah, and 22.5 at Nike. Seems a bit stiff to me but we still don’t have a lot to go on, so a little soon to be complaining (or betting?).
Dont be fooled into thinking the spreads have anything to do with football prospects. At this stage, just a direct indicator of the size sample of degenerate gamblers those schools have. The casino makes their 10% money by having bets on either side and adjusting the spread to match the level of homerism/doubt.
Watch Riley beat Ohio State and crap the bed against some FCS team
that’s funny. You think Banker’s D has a hope in hell against Urban Meyer’s offense?
Admit it, it would be the most Riley thing ever. Victim and perpetrator of a huge upset.
I just can’t see Banker and his D scheme stopping an Urban Meyer offense. Ever.
I can’t understand trying to see it. Maybe Bama, Michigan, Iowa and Wiscy and their Os. But tOSU? I wouldn’t try breaking my imagination just to dream of that fantasy.
Hey, don’t forget 2008. USC went undefeated except for a loss to Good-Riley.
Completely different O… and why I decided to throw Bama on the pile of maybes.
Unless you mean we should add them to a list of possible future upsets involving a Banker D. I don’t know if that would be one as long as Sark was coach there. I’d be more surprised to see a Cav O-line do anything… which would lead to NU getting to see how really balanced a Riley O isn’t.
It’s all about the bear crawls
OT but thought this needed to be shared. Jack’s sister says he’s in the hospital and doing much better. Let’s all wish him well in his recovery.
Not sure if I’m buying it with that username
It’s on the net, so obviously it’s true.
The only reason my sister would talk to you is because you’re on her docket.
Sucks to be you. I say that knowing it’s already one of the most obvious statements in the history of obvious statements. But this one is for your hypothetical which just makes you look like a fool while you were trying to be otherwise, not because of the normal state of your being.
Jackanass; don’t kid about anybody’s health. If you are trolling then Fuck You…karma is a MF. Ya dig?
It’s fine. I’m all he has in life. If this keeps him from jumping out the window of his mobile home… again… then let him have what he thinks is fun.
unless it’s nut butter. then no one gives two shits

Rasmussen is looking stronger. KJ is just looking like KJ.
Sorry Jack, had to reply…for some reason, made me think about my 21 year old daughter who I lost 10 years ago after she gave birth to two healthy boys.
Luv the site, hate the ducks and the dicks that waste space here.
Ahh… touchpoints… a certain smell, date, word or idea… even a certain colored sunset sometimes. Sorry about yours. No parent should have to bury a child.
well said. sorry for your loss homefry
yep-thanks for kind words.

Vikings suck!
Hmmm… go spend July and August in Mankato… or pretend to be hurt until the team returns to their facilities.
Coach “Bear Crawl ” Cav will have his work cut out for him this season at Nebraska according to the BTN guys.

Yes!!! See? We know it works. So it must be a good thing.
OT : Bo Ryan retiring after next season. Thank god.
Best quote on his coaching prowess was from Tom Izzo. “He could take me and four guys off the street and win twenty games.”

I thought Duck fan’s central argument to Nikegon not being Nikegon was that fuzzy boy wasn’t in any way involved with the slave labor corporation that makes shoes and really crap clothing.
I am now so confused.
OT… Back to the Blazers…
Let’s assume Aldridge is gone. Afflalo was a disaster. Matthews is good and will sign a one year deal for the 2016 pay scale. Lopez is likely gone. Freeland and Kaman are too expensive for practice fodder. That’s almost $40m cleared, leaving them with a good back court plus depth, no swing and three undeveloped bugs, only two of whom I like.
They are going to offer max to someone. The obvious choice for fan boy would be Love. And he should be on the short list. But do you make a play for Butler first? Middleton would work too, though he would be overvalued for his first year at max. Then you need a vet big like a Chandler.
If they go after and get Love, then they need a vet swing like a Pierce.
I could go for either knowing that they can pay after next year. But I think I would rather have the Butler or Middleton solution.
They picked up the option on Kaman for another year already, so he’s back unless they find somebody who is willing to trade.
Also, Toronto is working on overpaying Matthews. He’s as good as gone
Blazers are meeting with Greg Monroe as we speak. Not the max guy I would hope for, but that’s who they have made a priority. I really don’t like the direction this team is taking right now, even if they did land Love to go with Monroe. I guess Love’s 3 pt shooting could help alleviate the loss of Matthews, and the team would be younger overall, but it’s not like they were getting old yet.
…..and Love just re-signed with Cleveland
Sorry… I wrote that two days ago on my phone and couldn’t post it until I pulled it out this morning and hit refresh… before I realized it was going to post it now.
I have zero clue what Olshey is doing. Aminu for 4 years and $30m? And guaranteeing Kaman? Is it sad that right now the second best perimeter shooter on the roster is Vonleh? I’m assuming Connaughton is going to see a ton of floor time because of this. They’re essentially a 4-on-5 offense with Aminu out there. Plumlee can neither shoot nor bang. So he really excites me. Henderson can only shoot from the baseline. But I assume he was picked up because he’s unrestricted after next year, and he can go somewhere else.
Matthews is gone, but not to Dallas. Aldridge has always been gone. Lopez is gone. There’s still room for two max signings even though Olshey blew way too much of his wad on Kaman. But who are they gonna get now? Monroe is an upgrade over Lopez, but not at the price both will demand.
The bulls screwed Butler by offering him max. But he wasn’t going to talk to Portland anyway. Middleton screwed himself for five years.
I’m a little disillusioned as a fan right now.
So… Aldridge and Monroe both max was the plan all along?
Same 1 & 4, much much weaker at the 2 & 3, stronger at the 5.
I guess it’s better than the complete dumpster fire of a rebuild it will be if this deal doesn’t close.
Just wow.
Aldridge is still possible, I suppose, but I don’t think all of the following will stay on the team if they sign Monroe: Leanard, Plumlee, Kaman
That’s too much bench talent to share limited minutes at a single position. Leonard has shown he’s deserving of more time, and Plumlee is also young and improving. I’m not sure why they took the option on Kaman, unless there is a trade planned down the road to move one or more of those players for another position of need.
Perimeter shooting is going to be terrible too, outside of Lillard. Teams will just crowd the paint and dare Lillard to beat them from outside.
Plumlee is young, but he makes Kaman look good. Both are journeyman practice bigs at best. Vonleh and Leonard behind Aldridge and Monroe is a very nice front court. But the loss of any perimeter (even mid-range) at the 2 & 3 makes it a weak group overall. I like Connaughton as a glue guy picking up some of those pieces. But how much will I like him once he’s on an NBA floor?
Maybe Stotts sees more in Crabbe than he’s shown in limited time? I can see him breaking out… maybe… as being a part of the plan.
Doh!
Forgot all about CJ.
Yeah, CJ can play offensively, but a backcourt defense featuring lillard/cj isn’t slowing anybody down. Plus, has he played anywhere near a full season yet? Seems to always have a freak broken bone injury every year.
Both Plumlee and Kaman have trade value as well… as does Henderson, for now.
And the Blazers’ max for Aldridge is more than anything any other team can pay. So clearing all the cap space makes sense for that plan.
Matt Boyd having a rough go in his second start for the Jays, first 6 batters get hits (2 HR) and then a BB which included a WP.
That’s probably it for him as a starter. Hopefully he gets a shot in the pen now.
Hope so. He’s mentally tough but these two games have to be hard to flush.
