I’m going 35-28, Beavs
The political thread for tomorrow is down below. Keep it all in there. Let’s keep this one on our opponent this week.
I’m going 35-28, Beavs
In the last thread somebody mentioned Treshaun Harrison didn’t get a waiver granted. Is that official, or just inferred based on the depth chart? I’m not seeing any news, which I take to mean they just haven’t ruled on it yet, but still could.
And first
It’s official. It’s in the Sedge interview. Smith says it.
Pretty shitty of the NCAA. Seems that you need to either be wealthy enough to threaten legal action, a QB or white to get a transfer waiver.
To be fair we don’t have any idea what was going on, right? It’s possible he just didn’t have his classes in order.
But it’s shitty for the Beavs, and in a way puts more pressure on the NCAA to not exist.
Could be a number of factors, but if it was academics the team would have known at the end of Summer if he was elegible to play this fall. No need to wait for a waiver application.
This comes down to cinvincing the NCAA that you had a legitimate reason for leaving your previous school which justified not having to sit a full year before playing again.
He transferred in January and will be eligible as of January 2021, but was hoping to play early. His case would have centered around his previous coach getting fired(Taggert) and a need to move closer to home(Seattle).
I bet if he had transferred later, after the pandemic shut downs started, the waiver would have beem granted. Luck o the beavs on the timing here. If he transferred 2-3 months earlier or later he would likely be playing next week.
Also, I was told awhile back Trey Lowe isn’t playing this year regardless of waiver because he had to have some type of medical procedure done to fix a nagging issue.
Key for both teams will be depth. As seen in other teams, injuries have seemed to stack up early due to shortened training camps. Beavs seem to have the advantage there especially on defense. Would be nice to see a good rotation on defense.
Jefferson and the other RBs need to have a good game. Keep the pressure off Gebbia from having to make big plays.
I see the Beavs pulling one out, and if the RBs go off, it could be a blow out. Don’t think Gebbia needs to win the game, just manage the offense and move the ball and not turn the ball over.
Wazzu is not Leach’s Wazzu, don’t sweat it fellas. Beavs offense is much more capable of repeating last years output against Wazzu than Wazzu is capable. of duplicating what they did against Beavs.
What’s sad is we lost to Hawaii last year too…
My son in law is a coug alumnus and is not very confident going into the season. Likes the new coach just doesnt expect many wins. Im thinking that its pretty close and the beavs win. It may be a new offense for the cougs to learn but all offenses that are heavy on passing have many elements of the run and shoot in them including the pirate’s system. Im thinking the cougs offense is going to be fine. But the beavs defense is better. Hoping the o line jells quick on offense. Beavs by 10. 31-21.
This is a pretty good litmus test for the “improved” defense. We’re going to need to hold them to 30 or fewer to win this because I’m expecting some hiccups on offense with a new OL and new QB. I can see this being a defense that either makes big plays or gives up long drives.
Ultimately, I think our continuity is the secret weapon in this one because it sounds like Rolovich hasn’t had a lot of time to get the team up to speed on everything.
We’re 0-6 against WSU since 2014. Time to change that.
31-28 Beavs; Hayes wins it with a late FG
I just learned I have been blocked by fentress. I hs e not idea what I did to the guy. Is he sensitive???
Very.
Beavs blow them out. Tired of close games and I’m sure they are as well lol
Really excited to see how the team has matured and what Tibs does with this D. I can’t imagine he is blind to the lack of size on the line.
I’m with ya.
I see Max Borghi is available for the Cougs; really hope Marcus Greaves was correct after the scrimmage when he said,“Defense is GOOD
-Multiple takeaways, GREAT open field tacklers, playmakers on all three levels.
I hope Omar and Avery remember last year’s game and make sure he has a worse day!
Looks like 8 pm kickoff for the Washington game on 11/14
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/El11jSBUcAAAfau?format=jpg&name=small
Here is a nice write up on WSU’s DC. They’ll be running a 4-2-5.
https://247sports.com/college/washington-state/Article/National-Signing-Day-Washington-State-football-recruiting-jake-Dickerts-WSU-D-will-shift-from-small-fast-to-physical-aggressive-143403802/
A few things of note.
He says they want to move from small and fast to physical and aggressive.
Wants to build their D from the inside out starting with the 3 technique.
He wants to be multiple.
They’ll be running a lot of Tampa 2 and Seattle 3. A lot like the 49ers last year.
Will call plays from the sideline. He’s the LBs coach and says that they’re the heart of the D and wants to be there to make adjustments.
I ran the 4-2-5 in Maddon and got shredded.
Jefferson should have a big game. Musgrave could exploit that, too.
Ya I’m not a fan personally but it is pretty rare and different so hopefully it doesn’t confuse Gebbia. What did they run last year? I wonder how the personnel will translate. It could pay off recruiting wise if they find it easier to recruit DBs for their system.
They ran a 3-4 last year so it is a completely different system. Power runs will decimate that defense.
Hopefully gray and levengood are physical. They’ve talked about gray’s athleticism. I would love to see them just run it down the cougs throat. Then once the DBs start to creep up PA deep with the speed at WR.
Ding ding! 4-2-5 is crazy dependent on reads by LB and DB. Having great personal can make it work but there are Inherant
match up issues. If you can establish the run play action slants and outs can go all the way.
Why ya ding dinging him? I said Jefferson huge day…!
He said PA, you missed the PA angry! I will give you a Ding Di since you nailed Jefferson and TE off the PA would be murder.
Good find, eventhough it’s from last February.
How ’bout this quote: “We don’t like to be too simple: we want to make sure we’re complex through simplicity,” said Dickert.
With the DC on the sideline will Banker be hand-jiving from the pressbox?
I glanced over their roster. They have tall DBs and big Olineman. They also have pretty small receivers for the most part. Last year Hawaii’s small receivers torched us so hopefully we can avoid that this year. I think Dunn was hurt last year.
probably important not to discount OSU’s RB stable and ability to use the clock. Jefferson should have a big game. There’s no home field crowd and advantage, but this will be both teams first game, and OSU “at home” should have the advantage
Time for a healthy victory margin for the Beavs….
ESPN fantasy has Jake Luton as the 2nd best available qb in my fantasy league… lol
Wagering?
A couple questions about the line at betMGM (aka: Spirit Mountain).
As I read it, you must put up $110 to win $100 if you take the Beavs minus 1.5pts. A straight up win bet requires risking $121 to win $100.
I must not understand how to read the line, doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe someone here can educate me.
BTW, looks like $100 will get ya $1800 if you are right in betting the Beavs to win the North.
EDIT/ADD: After a trip to Spirit Mountain, I can inform y’all that they will not accept a bet on the winner of the North Div of the PAC. You can bet on winner of the Conference but not either Division.
https://sports.nj.betmgm.com/en/sports/football-11/betting/usa-9/college-football-211
That sounds right to me. You take the Beavs you are giving Wazzu 1.5 points so if the Beavs win by 1 you lose. That is why you get a bit more money betting the spread.
Thanks, got it now, makes sense.
Question for those playing the CBS Pool. Originally I had set up the pool rules to automatically use the top 15 games CBS selects each week. Now that Pac12 play is starting, I can’t select every Pac12 game under the current pool rules.
We have 2 options.
#1
I could try to edit the pool rules now that we are in week 9 so I can manually add Pac games. The risk being that I dont know if it will mess up our scoring system.
#2
I can leave the rules alone, meaning we will likely only get 2 or 3 Pac12 games per week to pick.
Which do you all prefer?
With option 1, i can take a screenshot of the current scoreboard so we can compile the resulta later, should we lose any of that data.
I’d say leave it. Kind of like that it’s not all Pac games…has me watching a few more teams than I normally would.
But, I don’t care if people want to go the other route.
Looks like changing the rules will require me emailing CBS and having them modify it. Who knows how long that will take anyway.
I could also have an option #3.
Create an alternate pool of only Pac 12 games. Only issue is there would only be 6 games max each week which doesnt seem worthwhile.
I like having PAC12 games, especially Beavs and ucks.
Who cares about the scoreboard, just declare whoever is in first place now the champ and start over. hmmm
I vote for whatever is easiest for you NB. Thanks
I just created a supplemental pool for Pac12 games only. It was pretty simple to set up this way.
So there’s a chance some games will show up in both pools. Time to hedge your bets or double down. Keep in mind, you’ll need to pick games in 2 separate pools each week to get max points.
I’ll work on getting the spreads set in the main pool today too.
https://picks.cbssports.com/college-football/pickem/pools/kbxw63b2gyyteobz?invited-by=ivxhi4tzhiytknbxgaztk%3D%3D%3D&via-medium=copy&ttag=FF20_lk_cbssports_cfb_ffbopm_copyInvite&pool-join-key=Aenfg8r0ya2z052d0q%21q
oh, and i added a tiebreaker game. it will be to guess the total score of the Beavs game each week.
They want a password to join…
Sorry, try now. Missed removing that setting initially
It still wants a password. You might have to update the link.
I hate this platform sometimes. It keeps bringing back the password feature. Sorry for all of the back and forth.
Try this(all caps):
GOBEAVS
Works fine with GOBEAVS, six entrants already in the PAC pool.
THANKS, NICEBEAVER, FOR ALL YOU DO TO MAKE THIS SITE MORE FUN!!
Cool, glad to hear it’s working. Glad to coordinate. It makes the season more interesting to follow for me.
I sent out a spam email to all of the people from last year to get more people to join this one.
It’s probably my fragile castor psyche, but I’m getting uncomfortable with all these predictions of a Beaver win on Saturday.
My Dad asked me last night if we are going to win a game this year. Being a beaver fan is the best.
Hopefully they don’t do this Saturday night
https://twitter.com/holdmyale/status/1323678695475859460?s=20
Wow, less than 20% on CBS Pick ’em picking the Beavs. I guess that makes me feel a little better.
Predicting 38-27, Beavs. Beavs jump out to a 17-0 lead.
WBB:
Short piece on Taylor Jones, running the stadium with Jasmine and building up her arms cause, “I think what I needed the most in the post was my arms to be able to keep people out, so I’ve definitely got some more of that this year.”

Daschel had a report ealier that another player who left the team after the 2 deep was released was WR grad transfer Ricky Walker. I don’t believe he was on scholarship but am not 100% sure on that.
That was short lived.
Smell ya later.
Kind of a silly place to transfer to with as deep as we are at WR.
Worth a shot this year since he could transfer to a FCS school and still play a whole season in the spring.
Pretty comical or at least to me. Edge had an article titled nothing has changed with damir Collins. If nothing has changed why are you post6it as news? Its 3 days to game day and this is what you’re posting? It’s paywall too BTW
Technically, “No Change” could be news if we expected change. In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
Fwiw, looks like Saturday has a good shot at being rainy on Saturday. Will be wet at least, just not sure if it’s supposed to rain around game time
They’re from the Palouse, they win the extreme weather merit badge for the north division.
Cold and wet is probably different from the weather their freshman Hawaiian QB is used to playing in, though.
Must suck to be a CAL or UW fan right now. Made it so close to game 1, and now a positive test for a Cal player is jeopardizing things, depending on how many players are held out for contact tracing.
https://twitter.com/JanieMcCAP/status/1324202561918783488?s=19
That’s my fear with Da Beavs. Crossing my fingers we get to see a game.
OT: Article on Luton getting ready for Jags start.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2020/11/04/jags-rookie-qb-luton-armed-and-ready-for-nfl-debut-vs-texans/42996953/
Can’t wait to watch this…
Neither can JJ Watt….
Anyone know of a good way to watch this? Not sure if this will be “in-market” where I’m living (GA) as the falcons will be the game televised here.
That’s a pretty great story for recruiting QB’s: former Wing T/JC QB developed into an NFL QB in basically two years.
Poor bastard has his first NFL start behind one of the worst lines in the league. Lucky fo him he’s mobile.
I’m guessing it will look like last year’s game against UW.
Yes, about as mobile as a confederate statue about to be pulled over…
Don’t think this was posted.
Anything interesting?
Interesting IT issues. Dutch brothers well represented.
1) Says Gebbia doesn’t have as strong of an arm as Luton but that he does have a strong arm and plenty of spin. Mentioned accuracy.
2) Chance Nolan solid #2
3) Defense is ready to hit some people.
4) My man Tibs rockin’ the Retro Benny hat
5) Another mention of Musgrave’s speed
Luton never really made full use of his arm strength, anyway, because his deep balls weren’t consistently accurate.
Just a heads up for anyone planning to watch the Beavs game this weekend. Game is televised on FS1 at 7:30pst.
Mentioning this because I know FS1 is one of those stations that can be tricky to find depending on your cable/streaming setup, so your connection might be worth testing early.
Sling has it on one of their packages, that’s probably the route I’ll take.
Are FS1 and local channels the only networks for beav games so far?
yes so far Washington game on FS1 next week also
UW/cal is cancelled now. Listed as a “no contest”
Ouch. But favorable for the Beavs. UW will have a new QB and OC making their debut.
Not that thay had much, if any, shot, but gotta think that means UW has no chance at earning a college playoff berth.
Will be tough for any Pac12 team to get to 7 wins if they can’t get in 7 games even.
Beavs get Cal on the 21st, if they can field a team by then
You can test your FS1 connection right now, they’re broadcasting Nevada vs Utah State.
underpants 0 and 3, and F him
Didn’t take Anderpants long to run USU into the ground. First 0-3 start in 13 years. The defense gave up over 400 yards passing this week and 400 yards rushing last week. It all sounds so familiar.
Not sure what the Pac12 rules are exactly, but this Cal situation sounds like just 1 player is positive and several contact traced players have to quarantine for a period of time, even though they are testing negative currently.
Sounds ultra conservative and really too bad that 1 case can shut down the game for 2 entire teams. Not a good sign if we have any hope of having a full season
I’m hoping to get just 1 game…get my fix.
I’d put the odds of a complete season at 2%. The PAC is incompetent and coaches won’t be competent keeping players from risky behavior.
Lots from Wilner and The Scoop on the situation at Cal.
Their conclusion, “The way the Pac-12 defines “close contact” (and by Pac-12 we mean the states and municipalities in which the league exists) is far stricter than the other conferences, and so the Pac-12 hardly stands a chance at staging anything close to a complete season.
Wilner quotes Wilcox, “”The frustrating part is you see the differences throughout state and the country on how contact tracing processes are taking place…Cal took state and local guidelines, built its plan “did more” than was asked … and now left with quarantine and no explanation”
Wilner’s opinion…….“it is clear to me that
1) this is all about Berkeley Public Health and
2) were this in any other municipality, it would be game on.”
https://footballscoop.com/news/a-single-positive-test-canceled-the-washington-cal-game/
ADDED, per Wilner on twitter:
This is not about the #Pac12 testing plan, nor should it be seen as representative of what’s to come for the rest of the conference. Entirely a local issue that has left #GoBears frustrated and confused.
The only upside is that the rules can be loosened. Or maybe Cal has to go on a road show for the season.
Wilcox on moving out of Berkeley for the season: “I don’t know if that would be an option currently” and defers to AD, chancellors.
As tweeted by Wilner
It surprised me Lawrence got Covid and Sweeney said they know who the source was. Even the top player in the nation wasn’t smart enough to stay away from any potential risk.
Beavs may have a decent shot at an undefeated season if they only get 2-3 games in….
If there is a bowl season, all you need is a winning record. No min games.
But there are so few bowl games and will be even fewer as bowl season gets closer.
If Wazzu hangs close throughout, I still think OSU wins by about 10. If OSU jumps out early, I can also see this as a “righteous retribution” type game where they just destroy the Cougs by 30+.
Might be Orange colored glasses, but OSU feels due for a dominating type statement game.
43-10
Morris is a go, Gumbs is not. Good thing we have LB depth!
Not so fast, my friend,
per the GT, “safety David Morris will be “available” this weekend, but could see his playing time limited due to a hamstring injury.”
So, not a full “go”; I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t play at all, certainly not more than a few snaps. We’ll see.
Oh man, it’s not even the ankle. That guy can’t catch a break.
Or you can say…all he catches are breaks.
Is Gumbs just not recovered from the ACL or is this something new? I thought I read an article a couple of weeks back (Corvallis paper?) that he is stronger, faster, and ready to go?
How much of that TIlray (TLRY) do you have Angry? Think will rise another 30 percent or more in the short term of 3-4 weeks.
I don’t have any. Weed stocks can keep rising on speculation for sure. I have no strong opinion either way other than “the trend is your friend”, and right now that’s up. None of these stocks have any real earnings so it’s all speculation at this point.
Not sure of the final but I’m predicting Omar gets 10+ tackles and the team has 3+ sacks.
Echoing Angry’s prediction, Daschel is picking OSU to win the North, on oregonlive.
Daschel must read AB…
I wonder how the standing will be handled this year since teams will have an uneven number of games?
For instance UW and CAL automatically are playing from behind now. Who would be the conference leader be in this scenario?
OSU 5-1 record
UW 5-0 record
Who gets penalized for that extra game? OSU for losing or UW for being forced into a “no contest”? A possible tie breaker could be division record, but could easily lead to the same problem.
I don’t know, but Oregon will be better off not playing any games and sticking at 12th and climbing. I don’t think they’ll do any better by playing!
Vegas line has gone from ucks -11.5 to -7.5.
Heh, heh, I got in at Tree +10, baby needs new shoes.
Nice one.
Isn’t that something, don’t play a game and still get ranked! They may drop down after Stanford tonight, who knows. They would have been better off if the PAC 12 hadn’t played, they would have fifnished in the top 10 for sure!
Head to head?
In your situation, it would have to be UW who beat OSU, so they would get the tiebreaker.
So the reasons I’m picking the Beavs to win the North:
1. Mentally prepared – Smith has consistently instilled winner mindset.
2. Gebbia – Leadership and skills
3. Bend but don’t break D that will pressure QBs
4. Kicker who can actually make FGs
5. Should have a good RB stable
6. Some depth finally
Not sure I was ever clear on my reasoning, but those are the main ones.
My #1 concern is Smith making awful calls and costing us games.
I’ll be bullish if the OL can perform well against a real defense OR Gebbia plays at a superstar level. Obviously the first is more likely.
It doesn’t matter how good your RB stable is if the holes aren’t there, and we saw last year how poor OL play quickly neutralized a potent offense (e.g. UW).
I don’t think we’ll know until after week 2 against UW.
I’m not worried about the OL. There are about 7 guys who are all serviceable. They won’t be an elite line, but they’re protect and open holes enough to let the skill players do their thing.
Any nagging concern that Tibs emphasis on takeaways will lead to mistakes via over aggression?
Ball security was more than OK last year, at a minimum that needs to continue.
I’m not worried about that. I think the turnovers will come from the LB pressure forcing those issues.
you forgot # 7 Angry: aggressive play calling, especially on 4th down
Just when ya think the PAC couldn’t be any more fouled up, they now say the week 7 games might not be cross division as planned; could be used for makeups.
https://twitter.com/wilnerhotline/status/1324789133449981952
I still think the CFP gets pushed and the PAC12 will be able to play one or two more weeks. Or at least be able to make up games.
The networks need the inventory. Can’t be having these games canceled and show high school games instead.
utah uofa canceled
https://twitter.com/pac12/status/1324796244498276352/photo/1
I see Zona fans calling out Utah. I think Utah wanted a game against a weaker opponent.
I’m hopefully quacks have a game cancelled so even if they finish with a good record, they only have 5-6 games compared to say a 10-1 team from the SEC or ACC.
Can we use something like the old BCS rankings that considers how many/few cases each team incurs throughout the year and how many games they have to forfeit?
Can they make the game not 7:30 now?
Read that game time hasn’t changed, but nothing official
One thing that I think people are forgetting is the fact that we hardly turned the ball over last year. I doubt gebbia throws 3 picks or less and I think they only lost like 6 or 7 fumbles. Hopefully this will be negated by an increase in turnovers by the D.
if we only get to play 1 game, I like Gebbia’s chances to keep it under 3
Raise your hand if you are lucky enough to be in a county that is under new COVID restrictions for 2 weeks? Brown with an update at 1 today. Will this spread across the state and effect CFB?
My prediction was no games………………..ugh. I’m starting to hate Brown, too!
I hate to give Canzano anything positive, but he got a bee up his butt about the Portland Pilots and Portland State Vikings being banned from playing hoops when the Beaver and Ducks can. Gov Brown was clueless that UP and PSU were D-1 schools and Canzano called her out about the hypocrisy. She finally got the word and changed her exemption to include them, so they just started practicing. Ironically, the Lady Pilots are now playing the Ducks. Maybe she will leave college sports alone, she seems to understand the economics, whatever is left of it anyway.
More proof the writers at the Oregonian read the blog.
https://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/2020/11/oregon-state-football-would-you-buy-a-prediction-of-a-pac-12-north-championship-for-beavers.html?outputType=amp
This is the only place I’ve seen the “pac12 north championship” being talked about. But maybe I don’t get out much.
I’d be curious to read their articles before I made that prediction. If they went from the consensus of a few wins to a championship, right after writing about it here, I think that’s a good conclusion.
Beavs win. It’s a must win. Have no idea of score or what strengths and weaknesses will be but they find a way. Have a hunch our D will be good. Not sure about O… QB, receivers and OL concern me until they prove otherwise.
If they can get win I see them beating UW… biggest improvement usually between 1st and 2nd game. UW will be playing 1st game with new coach. No home field advantage.
Beat UW and then momentum builds… we win North. Lose and I worry 2 win max
so here’s a hypothetical for the great minds populating this blog to consider: how might things have turned out differently if Kelani Sitake hadn’t left after that 1 year in the GA program? Was he the kind of guy who could have moderated GA’s worst tendencies? What was his role in the recruiting hierarchy, especially with Polynesian prospects? His current team is about to go 8-0, albeit against Covid era watered-down competition.
I also wondered this. His defense was horrible but so was klunes and tibs. Tibs has showed improvement and we’ll see if he’s for real this season.
BYU is a different beast with their division and bringing in 26 year olds. GA and his staff were successful at lower divisions. Some guys aren’t capable of the jump.
People liked him because he has a cool last name.
All hat, no cattle.
Sounding like the name of a delicious type of mushroom is cool?
What’s it looking like in terms of playing this game?
100% Go
FYI- Ken Goe retired. Didn’t he cover the Beavs for a while or was he just opinion pieces on college sports?
And on the other side of the ex-Beaver Mountain West, Brent Brennan is now 3-0 as San Jose St beat San Diego St last night. Brennan was a good guy, I hope the program is on the way to not being a punching bag in the league. Anderpants can take over that role!
PHIL STEELE REPORT
Last time here (‘18) WSU was travelling for the 2nd time in 3 weeks and both had bye’s on deck. The
Cougars allowed a season high 276 rush yards. WSU trailed 30-28 3Q, but outscored OSU 28-7 the rest
of the way, 56-37 and even covered (-17). Last year In a battle to get to 6 wins, OSU led on the road
24-21 at half but trailed 35-24 after 3Q. OSU rallied to lead 53-42 with 4:17 left then WST went 75/7 for
a TD with 2;10 left and OSU recover onside but was SOD on 4&4 at WS 43 with 1:08 left and WSU went
58/10 for a TD with :02 left for the win, 54-53 (-10.5). OSU is in Jonathan Smiths 3rd year and has 14
ret strs but is just 1-8-1 ATS as a HD. Oregon St was 8-2 SU in this series from 2004-’13 but WSt has
now won 6 in a row (4-2 ATS). Nick Rolovich has 15 ret strs and even with the long trips to mainland
with Hawaii was 6-5 SU on the road the last 2 years there. Oregon St has a large edge in this Covid
year in that it is Smiths 3rd year as a HC when coaches hit their stride with the majority of the team
finally their own recruits. Wash St has a first year HC that did not even have the benefit of spring
practices. While they remain pass happy they are shifting from the Air Raid to the Run and Shoot where
the WR’s have completely different route running and reads. That lost last year is well remembered as
costing the Beavers a bowl and they have my #47 RB, #47 DLine and #10 LB corps led by Hamilcar
Rasheed.

What about 9 field goals and a safety?
This is the remember Quizz and revenge upon Borghi game. Beavs are finally in a position to impose a physical dominance upon Cougs. Beavs roll and overwhelm the frosh qb with disguised coverage and heatseeking missile linebackers who don’t flail anymore.
Beavs win going away 39-13
JJ has a huge 200+ yd day
GAME DAY!! Anyone making a good spread for the game? I’m doing Korean Ribs and lots of booze lol. Go Beavs!!!!!
That’s sounds good. We are making a slow cooker Burgundy Beef Stew with some crusty bread. I’ll probably just sip a little Jameson’s to calm the nerves in hopes the Beavers don’t eff-up!
Always good to have the proper medication.
We’re on the McCalk program, slow cooker venison stew, stopped and picked up a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of Portland Potato Vodka.
*Mckalk, apparently my phone thinks it knows how to spell.
Was told there’s concern among WSU fans that RB Max Borghi didn’t make the trip to Corvallis. Nothing official but I guess he wasn’t spotted anywhere when the team was heading for their flight. Would be a nice development for OSU if true
Utah State fires Anderpants lol
Haha. He might be done for good.
Guess he has more time to bang cheerleaders now
Wow, here’s a link. I was reading about his team last night. There are bad, averaging about 200 yards a game on offense with a horrifically bad defense. His earlier tone-deaf opt-out comments probably didn’t help his cause. Whittingham just received a “lifetime” extension, so he will probably save Anderpants ass again.

I have a game thread scheduled to go up later today. First in almost a year! I really hope we get to see this game…
My son and I are hoping to; been watching for the ‘breaking news’ scroll underneath the current games all day. It would be our luck if the waterboy got the plague and forced the game to be cancelled. However, the son (WSU grad) says that he likes the Beavs chances as quite a few WSU players left the team thinking they weren’t going to play this year – not sure how they are able to field a full squad. Must have had to go up to Colfax, Dusty and the surrounding communty to recruit players.
ASU has both Herm Edwards and Marvin Lewis on their coaching staff. That’s nuts.
Good game so far. Also, Indiana is dominating Michigan, 24-7 at halftime. If this holds, could Harbaugh be let go mid-season?
Absofuckinglutely. Tired of hearing about Harbaugh
Herm is starting bear fruit for ASU and he is starting to recruit better. Not sure many thought he was a good choice as a college coach. Seemed like an odd choice at the time. It’s good for the PAC12.
And yeah, having Marvin Lewis and also Antonio Pierce as defensive coaches help out a lot.
Seems like Edwards has a long list of guys he can call to come in and coach.
Ouch asu
GA out at Utah State

Quite the downhill ride from the highs of being hired at Wisconsin.
Stick a fork in his ass and turn him over. He’s done.
Or will Kyle give him a cush role as “Defensive Advisor.”
Someone said that Liberty is ranked and hasn’t played anyone.
They just went to Blacksburg and beat Va Tech.
Crazy ending. Liberty won 38-35. There is some talk that Hugh Freeze (despite the crap that happened at Ole Miss) will get another Power 5 job at some point. I’m not so sure, but his success at Liberty is impressive. He and his staff outcoached Virginia Tech at the end of the game.
Yeah I’m not sure why he would leave. Liberty is an independent team, and the state of Virginia produces excellent high school talent. He could make Liberty the next BYU. If he does that, he could be a candidate for an NFL job.
Liberty University is also extremely rich and can probably pay him whatever he wants.
Ritchie mckay is the bball coach there.
Yup and they went 30-4 last season.
#TPB lost again to Northwestern. I only pay attention because those Husker fans were so arrogant and thought they knew more than we did when they hired Smilin’ Mike. They are getting every ounce of gridiron misery they deserve.
Six pool games in and Sweaty has copied EVERY ONE OF MY PICKS!……….Smart
I think I just heard during the Fresno State-UNLV game that Gary Anderpants is out at Utah State? Serves the dickhead right if true.
Just saw the comment posted above. by someone else….
Yeah, it broke a few hours back. I don’t think it’s been confirmed yet as to whether he was shit-canned or is doing another one of his bat shit crazy disappearing acts. Maybe there will be texts to the sports reporters at the Salt Lake Tribune!
The Beav who shared the Max Borghi rumors this morning with me was right on. Bruce Feldman now confirming he won’t be playing tonight.

Good thing it’s not due to covid. The line should move even more toward Beavs.
What was the reason?
Pulled LPL I think
back injury. Doesn’t look like much experience on the depth chart behind him.
Sorry to learn this, was looking for some payback.
He’s a good player, seem to remember a snotty attitude though.
So with this weeks cancelations 3 of the beavs 6 opponents will miss opening week. With this short a season I can’t see that as a bad thing for us.
Yeah Cal should be ok for next week as the protocols there seemed to be due to the local health rules.
Anyone know what the local rules are in Corvallis right now? If a positive does happen, who else gets quarantined?
No clue but I feel pretty confident with only 10% attendance. Corvallis is a pretty slow place anyways and without campus full social distancing is basically just the same as existing there.
Bummer. Our buddy Hank at GoMightyCard posts:
“Kind of big news. Quarterback Davis Mills, wide receiver Connor Wedington, and defensive end Trey LaBounty will be unavailable tonight.”

Go home duck homer, you’re drunk and no one likes you. Get some friends
See that Mr. Anderson is unemployed again…. what did he do this time, Utah State couldn’t wait to get him back!
Boinked mckalk’s hot, mormon wife.
I watched and then reported him to the AD. Logan, UT is a pretty conservative place.
After a brief resurgence last year, Les Miles’ Kansas program seems to be faring as well as GA’s OSU program (maybe worse). They’ve been blown out in every game this season.
Anyone still wish we had hired him?
Heard he was not a personable guy at all with recruits. Had an assistant that follows him around everywhere and does the texting to recruits with a secondary phone. Player was not impressed. Maybe that’s common?
Their best player, RB Pooka Williams opted out for the season also.
Ducks D looking a little soft for building at the lines.
Shaw goes for it on fourth down enroute to the first score of the game.

UCLA getting beat up by Colorado.
Hearing two things to look for tonight are conditioning and attention to detail especially in the first half.
NICE!!! Duck game being pre-empted by Biden ‘victory’ speech!

Stanford looks much more physical this year.
Ducks don’t look that impressive. Stanford shooting themselves in the foot. But really “defensive chop block” penalty. I’ve seen that called NEVER! Jet Toner has the coolest name in college football, but he sucks today.
Will uck QB end up throwing several ints this season because he gets used to being bailed out by talented receivers?
Stanford “shooting themselves in the foot?”…….well, they’ve gotten a couple TO’s so it somewhat balances out.
