Looks like the Beavs are going to fall short.
That bracket looks right, and if the committee does go to the Pac-12 for another team, it will likely be UCLA.
Bummer. These guys need post season tournament experience, and not the CBI. Speaking of the CBI, would you rather they play it and gain more experience or decline it and keep their pride? I'm thinking the CBI is a bad idea. Financially, it's bad, but also bad for their confidence if they don't win it. I just don't see much to gain.
Don’t want the CBI either. It was fine the first year, but they don’t make any money off of it. I don’t know why UCLA should get a bid over OSU other than higher RPI, given the fact the Beavers beat them this season.
I’m in the minority in being slightly okay with a CBI berth. It’s not what I want but I would like to see these guys keep playing and build towards next season. I really hope they barely make the NIT. Will find out soon. If they do get invited to CBI, I wouldn’t be surprised if players want to turn it down cause it’s not the tournament they want.
I really hope they barely make the NIT.
Yep, there is a sliver of hope. They were playing well down the stretch and beat #1 seed Washington…
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, please no CBI.
No Beavs in the NIT. Damn.
Beavers didn’t make the NIT. Damn it.
If the Beavers don’t run out of gas in the second half against Zona they would at least be in the NIT. Sucks for the guys.
I expect OSU to turn down CBI bid. They’ve already played in it, wouldn’t think they would want to play in the CBI.
I always say play on if they want to, we are not talking huge financial losses, they’ve got P-12 money coming in. UCLA didn’t make the NIT either, be interesting to see what they do.
UCLA won’t consider the CBI.
The problem I have with the CBI is this:
1. Teams that win it get no respect…if anything they’re the butt of jokes.
2. If a team gets knocked out they’re made fun of less than if they had won it (go figure), but the risk is confidence (i.e. “we couldn’t even win the CBI, we stink” etc).
If I’m a coach, I’m wondering what there is to gain going into next year…if the tournament had any prestige at all I’d say go play in it, but it’s just not worth it.
I think you’re talking too harsh a stance, it can be a springboard when you have a team just starting to find the pieces. St.Louis, Davidson and a couple others were CBI teams last year and now in the dance. Wasn’t VCU the team the won the CBI and made the final four the next year?
I don’t hear many CBI jokes, it’s just another chance to keep playing if the players want. Nothing more nothing less. And at least this year they’re a legitimate team with a winning record (not CR calling in favors from Gazelle). They are a fun team to watch, I like to see how they match up against others around the country. 2008/09 was a lot of fun to watch at my local sports bar!
The major reason I say you take whatever tournament you get is because of how young our team is. Every single one of these is guys is coming back next year (minus McShane) and I think it would be dumb to turn down any additional practice time you can get with them. Maybe CR will even let lose and try some personnel/lineup changes or new schemes seeing as how the outcome of this tournament really doesn’t mean much either way.
de acuerdo – no CBI – assuming they are invited – who decides whether or not they would accept a CBI bid? Can the money that would have been used for CBI be put into the practice facility pot? I don’t quite understand why, with all the fundraising that is supposedly happening, the practice facility is still on hold. Reser is being updated, the track is being built – all good things, but what’s with the bb practice facility which would benefit more than just men’s and women’s basketball?
CBI sucks but I have to admit I’d watch the games and get drunk and pissed at the refs.
An honest man!
Haha
CBI to me just means extra practice, which we could always use.
Washington got screwed.
Yeah… by themselves.
Yes and no. Regular season champ should make the Dance IMHO.
OT, but PAC-12 agree in principle to unite against BCS system:
http://tracking.si.com/2012/03/11/report-pac-12-university-presidents-unite-to-campaign-against-bcs/?sct=cf_t2_a3
Was surprised Ed Ray was quoted!
Not sure I agree with this stance, if you have two of the better teams in the nation why should they not get in, and a conference champ from the the Big Least gets in???
The point is that not everyone gets a chance to compete now. This last season was a joke of a championship game. Teams get one chance to get into a play-off, and that’s by winning their conference. No more of this “win four games against Directional State Beauty School of the Geographic Feature” then beat up on all the weak schools of your conference to get to 11 wins. Then if you play the team yone thinks is the best closely, you can sit at home while they play for the league title and wait to meet them in some bastardized hype of a rematch.
Win your conference or shut up. You had your shot.
Beavers hosting Western Illinois in CBI
Game will be on HDNet
It better not interrupt my HDNet shows like Girls Gone Wild and Get Out.
That’s funny….HDNet is my “secret” T&A…wife has no idea what’s on that channel.
They should have the Bikini Destination Girl as the sideline reporter and have Art Mann do the play by play. That would be awesome!
Considering the team is called the “Beavers”, I would think Art Mann and crew are in transit as we speak!
I can see Art doing a segment on Parker. “Dude check out this guy eating a napkin.”
Where’d you see that?
https://twitter.com/#!/Ben_WGEM/status/179025442504839168
Western Illinois is probably unknown to most but they’re a good squad. Nearly made the NCAA Tournament, lost in their conference championship game in OT to South Dakota State who smacked UW in Seattle.
Here’s the entire field:
Milwaukee vs. TCU
Western Illinois vs. Oregon State
Washington State vs. San Francisco
North Dakota State vs. Wyoming
Delaware vs. Butler
Quinnipiac vs. Penn
Princeton vs. Evansville
Wofford vs. Pittsburgh
The more I think about this, the more I like it…give a guy like McShane another home game and hold a glorified practice. It might be worth a small financial loss, and there are some decent teams (Pitt, Butler, WSU) in the field. I hope the players use this as a learning opportunity and don’t think, “It’s just the CBI, we can goof off”…
A potential OSU-Pitt/Butler championship series would be fun for me. Definitely would be a test for OSU, going against some truly great defensive teams.
Damn, I was wondering if Wazzu would get an invite. I hope the Beavs don’t face them. Angry, you were right on about UCLA…too good for the CBI or maybe too f-ed up of a team. Does Howland survive?
McShane should get more PT. He’s really the only guy I see who can set an effective screen.
Now that that is settled, anyone think the “feel good” story and Rueck’s COY and record at George Fox will be enough to get the gals into the WNIT? Guess the field will be announced tomorrow.
I would think so, doesn’t the WNIT invite a huge amount of teams? I think there is also the WBI. They should get some post season bid. If they had won winnable games on the road, they could have been up for the NCAA’s, still a great story.
64 teams in WNIT.
if pitt, wazzu, butler, etc. are accepting their bids then i don’t understand how anybody feels like the beavers are above the CBI. people need to understand that the only reason that the beavers have been invited to the CBI in the past was because of connections coach robinson has. without them, one of a number of better, more deserving teams goes in their place. just take a look at some of the non conference losses in 08-09 and 09-10. that isn’t the case this year. as great as the title run was in robinson’s first year (gotta love that team) i kind of wish that this was the first time that the beavers had been invited, because i feel like more of the fanbase would appreciate the step forward that was taken this year. im interested to see how they’ll play.
Crap-Bend got rid of HDnet since the last CBI….
What day is the game?
Wednesday 7:00 PST.. in Corvallis. JB
Same night as Gophers NIT. Thanks DVR inventor. And JB for info.
I’m down for an Oregon State vs. Butler Final. This team would benefit from playing Butler. Same with Pitt. Won’t get that chance unless we get to the Final so I hope the Beavers give their best. Our team is young and these guys will be around so getting more tourney experience should help cement the one and done nature and making the most of opportunities.
CBI is good because of extra practice and more exposure never hurts. This is a young team that will be a veteran team next year and hopefully will be a force in the PAC-12. GO BEAVS!!
I agree. The more post-season experience this group gets, the better. Then the group needs to work hard this off-season (including Jared Cunningham’s plan to work intensively with Gary Payton over the summer). If all that happens, the Beavs could be good next year.
OT, but the ruling came down on North Carolina for their infractions.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=cr-robinson_north_carolina_sanctions_031212
So my question is, how severe are Oregon’s infractions compared to these in the “eyes” of the rule book?
We all knew Bernard’s little brother made the wrong choice!
North Carolina had academic fraud, ineligible players and impermissible cash benefits to players and only gets a one year bowl ban and loss of 9 scholarships
So my thinking is that Oregon gets 3 years of probation and a loss of 6-9 scholarships.
Time will tell
Kenny returns! To comment on an Oregon-related post….how convenient?!?!
They didn’t receive cash benefits (that we know of). They received impermissible benefits totalling a certain amount. It’s like Cliff Harris and Darron Thomas in the rental car. There’s no way those kids get a rental for less than $7-800, if at all. So they received an impermissible benefit by having someone else (a school employee) get it for them. For a nice round number, we’ll say that benefit was worth $500.
And Nikegon had academic fraud as well. Or are we forgetting about Lewis and Grady?
And will Lyles be considered a booster or an agent? One is worse than the other. But both are as likely as the other. And every time he contacted the kids he “mentored,” every time he gave them a ride home from practice or bought them a cheeseburger… those are all impermissible.
I think Nikegon doesn’t have to vacate much of anything. Most of the obvious violations occurred with kids who didn’t play. And Lyles might not be considered a booster until the first time he accompanied Campbell or Kelly on recruiting visits (another no-no which no recruiting service does for their customers, let alone that they also don’t give verbal consultations). So LMJ could be in the clear for Lyles’ actions.
I was reading all the reaction blogs of the writers covering the ncaas and the common narrative is that teams who scheduled tough were rewarded. Next year being the best shot at making the tourney, there can be no more Illinois Chicago, towson, or howards. Replace them with aq teams or high mid majors. even if those games are losses, they help more down the road in terms of rpi and playing better competition. I like how this isn’t football and teams are punished for not challenging themselves.
We’re in the 2K Sports Classic next year. So we’re at the mercy of the Gazelle Group for the two games we host. But we end up with Nova/Purdue/Bama at MSG, which should be nice.
I don’t know what games were home and home or outright visits. I expect us going to Idaho for one to complete a H&H. Towson and ChiSt are home possibilities for returns on H&H.
George Mason was all over the schedule board offering guarantees around Thanksgiving. So that’s a possible visit after the 2K in New York.
And we’ll have a player from Georgia next year. Georgia Southern was all over the board last year looking for games, but nobody wanted to play them, figuring they were worse than Towson and would bring down their RPI’s. They bounced back nicely this year. UGA was offering a bunch of guarantees as well.
And aTm was offering a mid-December guarantee as well. Moreland should get a game for his family and friends.
Illinois was wanting a neutral H&H starting at the United Center next year. That would satisfy Coach Rob wanting to get to Chicago for a game. And we would get a return to the Rose Garden if our AD could figure that one out. And Bradley was looking to start a H&H on the road, which would return us to Peoria the following season. That’s close enough to Chicago… no?
I know there is a website that have such clearinghouse of teams looking for opponents. You happen to have the link?
Sorry….
http://www.basketballtravelers.com/game-schedule-board/?e_type=1
Ok, if I understand the rules right, the beavs can schedule up to 31 games next year. 18 conference games, 9 non-conference and the 4 games in the 2k classic.
For the 11 non-conference it will have to have at least one game in chicago and another in the DC area.
Illinois would be a great get for Coach Rob, get to play in an NBA arena, also a NCAA tourney venue. George Mason would fit the bill for a local DC game.
It’s time to step it up. Only 1 game this year was against a top 25 rpi team. 7 games were against teams with 150+ rpis.
So here’s what I think, going along with what jackbeav has said above, and looking through the basketball travelers website. There are so many good west coast programs offering home/home deals. I think OSU needs to take advantage of these.
1. Idaho – Away
2. Illinois – they will have a new coach. – Away
3. George Mason. Ideally, Georgetown. – Away
4. San Diego St. or Gonzaga – Away
5. PSU – Home – should schedule them every year during the winter break. It’s just a natural thing to do.
6. Pepperdine/St.Mary’s/San Fran/Santa Clara – Home, all of them want a home and home series.
7. Pac12/big10 game – home
8. Towson – home – replace with anyone aq team
9. Chi St. – home – replace with anyone aq team.
So with the 2 home games for the 2k classic, that’s 4 away games, 2 neutral, and 7 home games.
Another road test wouldn’t hurt the Beavers and could potentially build the resume. Swap out the Pepperdine/St. Mary’s/San Fran/Santa Clara for a home and home with Iowa, Kansas State, Cincy, New Mexico, Tennessee(2012 game would be in Corvallis), USF, Northwestern(Possible Chicago area game). All of those games I would be fine with adding. You want to have cupcakes like Towson, Chi. St, PSU to a certain extent on the schedule but you also need tests and the ones you mentioned and the list of teams I mentioned will help this team do this. Also, it helps them prepare for Pac-12 play and they will be ready. I’d like to see OSU schedule similar to Gonzaga. Schedule 4 or 5 difficult games(tournament included) and it prepares the team for conference play and has them battle tested. Never a bad thing.
I like the setup a little more than last year. I think #2 was probably filled pretty quickly last fall. Hopefully coach Stewart was all over it when it was posted. H&H neutrals at NBA arenas are just an awesome experience for players and fans. And i think #2 fills in the #7 requirement. I believe we need to play the PSU, UP, Zags games every year. I would even extend it to St Mary’s if I could. And Seattle may be a program one day as well. There’s something about proving regional dominance that sticks in my mind as important. The Pac did not do that this year against the MWC, the WCC or the WAC. That’s why we get two bids this year.
If you play nobody, you get to play nobody at the endof the season as well. The NCAA is not the BCS. They like thick skin in their second seasons.
The other thing to remember is that fans who buy season tickets don’t want to see Directional State every year either. They want to be a part of the legend as much as the players and coaches do. They want to be able to say they were there when….
Notice USF just posted a neutral H&H today. It would be nice to get Jared a game in the OACC.
And USF and OSU have a history as rich as West Coast hoops sans John Wooden.
Two comments regarding the CBI.
1.) I wish we weren’t involved. It’s a cheesy low budget bunch of third tier teams. I think it’s alright occasionally, particularly when a first year coach needs additional time to install his system, such as us in 09 or Oregon last year. I really don’t believe that the extra practices or games make any difference on a veteran team, such as our returning12-13 team.
2.) Given the above sentiment I will be buying three tickets to Wednesday nights game. We can not allow a small crowd to make us look bad. My, neighbor a Duck, is willing to go along and my wife will go as long as she can take her Kindle. JB
I felt that way too until I saw the field…some good teams. This should be the best CBI to date.
I will also be attending, with the exact same thought. We need to look respectable on camera.
My feeling is that the NCAA field gets more watered down more each year with those automatically qualifing teams from east bum colonial missiouri ohio valley community college leagues. I haven’t compared the numbers of auto teams, but it does seem as if the at large seeds get fewer every year. It used to be a 20 win season in a real conference was a lock for the tourney. No love for the Huskies, but this is the first time in many decades that the regular season champion of a major conference doesn’t get in. I say that is bogus. The trade off of this is that the “used to be” marginal tournaments get a higher quality of teams. Maybe only slightly so.
Also notice that there are several respectable programs, in the CBI…..so they think its worthwhile.
To call us a veteran squad that wouldnt benefit from extra game experience, is wrong. We have yet to find true consistency and how to finish close games. I hope we do well and get a few wins to expand that game experience.
How ’bout that, OS(U) gals to WNIT ! Play UC Davis at Gill this Thursday.
http://www.womensnit.com/photos/bracket37.pdf
Nice. I’ll watch Rueck coach.
Great job this year. Seems like the real deal as a coach.
It was expected. They have an RPI of 83.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1096859-oregon-states-mike-riley-is-this-his-final-season-as-the-football-coach
Agree. The Katz and suspension situations were just bizarre and out of character.
Not the best article. Interesting in here that people are critical of Riley for being ‘out of character’, when his character takes a lot of criticism.
Plus, why the love/fear of Rich Rod? That guy was ran out of Ann Arbor by an angry mob. Everyone in the Big Ten thinks he sucks.
I don’t think he did anything out of character. He has always waited until October to make wise decisions.
Why was this a surprise last year?
Throwing Katz under the bus was out of character. He has always stuck by players even when they are struggling. LSU game kicker. M Moore.
Yeah… and the player he stuck by in this instance happened to be the back-up QB at the time.
And I don’t think that was a bad decision either.
But the way he did it was very Riley-esque. The problem is that he doesn’t do anything consistently or with resolve. He’s always “searching” for this and that. He’s just a quirky personality for a coach. He’s a good coach. He’s not great, but he’s good. And I’m sure he’s one helluva nice guy.
Katz was the starter at the Badger game. I was at the game and Wisc fans asked why we took out our starter after three plays. All I could do is shrug my shoulders. Agree with everything about Riley. I think the last two teams have taken on the milk toast persona. Need some senior leaders and asst. coaches to amp it up.
Riley, in all his personna now, seems apathetic and …well, senile. Disconnected.
His past successes dont count much when you change personally, and dont appear to even care.
Here we go again -“Oregon State has to be one of the toughest places in the country to bring talented recruits, having virtually nothing unique to offer aside from early playing time.” Is unique the key word here? Is it our orange-colored glasses that make us see Corvallis/OSU as far better than “virtually nothing?” The new AD marketing director has practically a blank slate to work with if he starts with “virtually nothing unique to offer” And, I continue to maintain that some of OSU’s recruiting problems with football are not a case of where you are recruiting to but its inability to increase the scope of where it’s recruiting from.
It’s only as hard as the people who are recruiting make it. I never hear anyone talk about WVU or VaTech in the same terms. Gainesville is in the middle of nowhere. But hurricanes and tornadoes and hot humid weather even when it’s raining are all a draw? And I’ve been to East Lansing during better economic times. You’re probably not going to convince me it’s any better now.
Va tech is in the middle of nowhere. I almost committed there but its so far from everything.
I’m not talking about personal preferences. I think everyone understands that more people on average like living in big cities for whatever reason. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be big cities.
Right?
But there remains a vein of thought where independents like to get away from it all, even for a small time period. They don’t need to be sheep herded to the mall every weekend. They can step into nature and know that the grass they step on is real.
VaTech is in the middle of nowhere. But so is OSU according to football apologists.
And both places are great. I just don’t get why any college kid wants to go somewhere other than his or her circles within college. I went to a school in Houston for a couple years before transferring to OSU, and I left the campus maybe ten times during my frosh year. And I was not an athlete, which is supposedly (but not in reality) a harder life.
I got to OSU, and I was al over Corvallis, the coast, the mountains, you name it.
That’s bullshit. There are a whole lot of podunk sites that have been very successful in getting talent, including Corvallis in the past. That Erickson Fiesta bowl team had lots of talent.
The writer is just using the excuses some of the fans use, to excuse poor football results. it doesnt wash.
Every unsuccessful program makes excuses. Consistent winning overcomes all obstacles.
What I find amusing is OSU uses the excuse that it is hard to get kids to come to a small, college centered city and my other alma mater, Minnesota, uses the exact opposite excuse. They claim kids don’t want to go to a big city and prefer going to college towns where the school dominates everything.
So what is it?
This is just silly.
http://www.oddsshark.com/ncaab/western-illinois-oregon-state-odds-march-14-2012
129 o/u? Even a game where we can’t hit the broadside of a barn (Arizona) had 133 points. Only the Vandy/Towson/Montana games come in under this. And the last two were because they were complete blowouts where our opponent only scored 46 points.
The Western Illinois stats make them look like they try to slow it down and play ugly.
One nice thing about that is that they only have runs like 6-2 or 7-3.
Saw this for the 4-4-4 deal for gymnastics on March 16. Note the parenthetical.
“Each offer will provide 4 game tickets as well as a voucher for 4 Beaver Dogs and 4 regular sodas. The package is priced at $34 (includes all handling charges).”
Maybe someone IS listening.
Yeah… I think it’s still the same price as before. But it’s just a lot cleaner in a state where you don’t pay sales tax. I was in Washington over the weekend, and I about flipped over when I was charged tax on the first purchase I made. Maybe it’s an irrational feeling, but I like to pay for what I see (product and price) on the shelf.
“Beaver Dogs”. That’s funny.
I have never bought a concession at Gill… not even for concerts.
I have a DVD by that title…..wait nevermind!
All this CBI talk sure cured my insomnia. And if the AD wanted to create some excitement for the game he would have made all the seats $15.
I don’t like chairbacks, so I’m paying $15 either way.
But seriously, shouldn’t this game be used as a springboard to get fans interested in Beaver basketball? The attendance at the Utah/ Colorado games was pitiful. Why not make them $10 and try to fill Gill?
I’m not arguing the price point. But I don’t think the prices are too out of whack at Gill anyway. Maybe dropping them to $10 and $20 would be better. But they still need to make some money.
I will likely never go to a game at the TTATT because they’ve jacked the prices so high for the upper level… which are shitty seats anyway. And that’s on top of this:
http://www.registerguard.com/web/newslocalnews/27626038-41/arena-department-revenue-athletics-projections.html.csp
Remember that the Legacy Fund only actually has $30m in it. Daddy Phil’s “donation” was never given to the school. It was a classic seed money thimblerig promised only if the Legacy Fund does not draw the necessary amounts to cover costs. I’m still not sure how they managed to spend twice as much as UVA spent for their new arena. And UVA built when material costs were 130-150% what they were when the TTATT was built.
they have to charge enough to cover the investment of paying for the home game
I saw that Cliff has a brief update about the track facility. As always, I prefer the cam:
http://webcam.oregonstate.edu/trackfield/
The infield went in on March 6-7.
Watching Bayern Muinich (who just scored) versus FC Basel right now. It has to be against the rules of sport to have Robben and Ribéry on the same team.
Poor Basel. This is a bloodbath. And they’re playing seven and eight in the box (plus the keeper).
Good lord! Gómez is going for another hat trick.
He friggin got it. Unbelievable!
What do you call a four goal performance?
Friggin Robben.
Refs just took a goal away from Basel. When it rains, it pours.
What in hell are you talking about?
What relevance to anything OSU does your p by p have?
Please stop.
Right place.
Man U against W Brom next.
You want updates?
heh heh
I’ll bring the soccer match on-topic.
They’re talking about the “modern athlete” and the accommodations and facilities for BM. And they’re referring to them as “six star” and “the modern athlete wonts for nothing.”
Is this the way of the modern athlete? Is the wussification of sport complete?
Yes
Dude… (though I like Bayern) your rant is beyond off topic and doesn’t even have any relevance to… well anything.
Wrong thread.
You want to take this post and go above where I’m just commenting on the game, which is OT.
This comment is on topic. It is about sport and the way athletes are treated like they’re Hollywood stars.
Would you enjoy stories about your star player only washing his hair with Evian? NBA spending habits among some players are just plain stupid.
John Elway used to get kicked out of the same strip club in Denver on a weekly basis when his wife was pregnant.
Are we making heroes out of schmucks?
It’s only relevant if you care about sport I guess.
How does this relate to OSU athletics…..which IS what this site, and thus all threads, are, or supposed to be, devoted to.
You need to go to O-live and post your rants about todays pro’s.
Facilities? Common rants against OSU as a destination?
Heh… I could ask what the title of this very post has to do with, “OSU athletics…..which IS what this site, and thus all threads, are, or supposed to be, devoted to.”
No?
So…if you see others breaking the rules, you follow suit?
Good goin…
Only if they’re also jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge. I wouldn’t want to break the rules if no thrill was involved.
And I’m not talking about athletes having to go all Rocky and start punching dead cows and carrying firewood up mountains. Training facilities should be the first consideration.
But do we need a waterfall in the foyer of the “locker facility”? There just comes a time where the athlete has to look at all of it and even they say, “What moron thinks that is cool?”
Apparently Nike’s Euro ad campaign is “Win every ball… Win every battle… Win every play.”
I suppose it’s dumb to point out that if the first is achieved, the others are unnecessary?
Brought to you by the brilliant minds that want OSU to succumb to such stupidity?
Why not just “Win the day”?
Because that sounds like a cheesy Robin Williams movie.
We aren’t talking about that post that applies to athletes, we are talking about how you flooded the topic with a flurry of soccer posts and above this ranted another 4 posts. Bottom-line keep it remotely on topic (even slightly) and limit your post count.
Ok… what do you think of the NIT?
Who’s going to win it?
Come on stickler! Give us on-topic love
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
The question isn’t “what are we going to do,” the question is “what aren’t we going to do?”
I guess I shouldn’t have even mentioned being OT. It seems nobody knew any better until I did.
Limit post count?
Read what you want whiner!
Oh, what a surprise… another 4 posts. Whining? Call it whatever floats your boat, but now you’re just being immature.
Want some cheese with that?
Jack, you can be a very informative poster….one f the best. But you seem to feel the need to post if you have nothing OT to say. On and on….
If you haven’t noticed, just about every post here is OT. I was bored and watching sports. Others were apparently equally bored and reading my posts. Still others were equally bored, reading my posts then crying about them.
I’ve gone off a couple times when people go OT as well. But I try to limit it to when they try to insert ignorant political rants steeped in propagandized code words… for no reason other than to troll. I don’t think sports rises to the occasion of a personal affront, so I wouldn’t go all uber-sensitive wussy on anyone for that kind of OT.
I hang on your every word……except your “last word”, which you always have to have..
Jack, who do you see as OSU’s top basketball recruiting priorities for the 2013 class? I know Westbrook already committed to us.
Williams-Goss
He is the best PG prospect for OSU in years, and I hope he leans our way. He would be a major, major get who could make OSU an elite program for years to come.
After that, I like Kameron Rooks and Reggie Cameron.
Those four would be an elite recruiting class.
WKU and MVSU are not inspiring greatness right now.
WKU not giving up… they will win.
Well, let’s talk Pac 12 gambling….
Wa 9.5 favorites tonight (TX-Arlington)
Stanford -6.5 (Cleveland State)
Washington State +5.5 (USF)
I’ll take WA/Stanford/USF for a $50 parlay, Alex….
Beavs are -11.5, 129
A congratulations to the Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls Men’s Basketball team – NAIA Div 2 National Champions!
it was on the radio in Bend-didn’t know it was the finals, got one kid going to OIT currently…gotta love the mascot!

Yes. I do!
