Do you think it had anything to do with our brewing petition and bombardment of emails aimed at Larry Scott and Dave Cutaia?
After reading this breaking news, I decided to go ahead and mail in the petition anyway. In my note I asked for additional suspensions, removal of bowl game privileges, and (most importantly) an explanation of the review process and an apology to fans of the conference.
To all those who signed the petition and sent in your grievances: excellent work, gentlemen.
awesome.
I want more action like you have suggested Angry. I want to know the name of the official, one can only hope it was Jay. Hopefully more action is pursued in the coming days.
I noticed that the SEC official who made the phantom personal foul call in the Arkansas/Florida game actually spoke to the media and admitted he did not see the play completely and never should have thrown the flag.
Of course, the PAC-10 wimps out and tries to remain secretive about the suspension. What a joke!
I watched some of the Beaver game again and it just makes me angry at the calls and non-calls. Carrol made me laugh out loud when he said that they got the punt return for a TD because they adjusted to how they blocked the Beav gunners. Sure if the strategy was to block in the back because you didn’t have to worry about a flag. Even Kristick’s late hit was a little suspect and called late if you notice. Ok, I need to calm down or I’m going to stroke out.
I also want to know why there isn’t a reprimand of Taylor Mays. It is obvious that he has a history of playing dirty. Unfortunately, his actions were not enough to suspend him but there should be an acknowledgment that his actions were wrong to begin with.
It is amazing that there is no consequence to the player. Do college players ever get suspended for on-the-field reasons? Similar to the late-hit on Lyle at Stanford last year. No call, no suspension…. But then again, it might be harder (or impossible) to suspend a player for a call that wasn’t made.
I wonder if the Pac 10 looks at the rest of the B.S. Calls/No calls and addresses those? They would say they do, but I doubt they really do. I bet that is why this Douche is always reffing the OSU/U$C games anyway. It only hurts the Pac 10 if USC gets beat/upset AGAIN. This way, with the Ducks controlling their destiny, the PAC 10 is in line for two BCS entrants. An OSU win takes millions out of the conference coffers.
Yeah, a bit conspiracy, but these refs are human. Just as they make human mistakes, they make human preferencial calls, even if somewhat subconscious. Think the NBA overlooked Jordan’s traveling as they did Shaquile’s offensive fouls that occured technically almost everytime he got the ball? Yes. It’s money out of the NBA’s hands (the ref’s employers) if they call it as it’s written because fans boo and quit showing up. Jordan…good anyway, but no one is talking me into Shaq being a good player. He pounded away until he dunked….anyway…
Plus, I’ve been to the Colliseum, those refs have to think about their lives when they leave that place, so I’m not so sure they aren’t.
Jeez. You people whine an awful lot.
Lick an AIDS patient
mehoffer, are you testing my no-edit/no delete policy?
Yep.
This is a blog title “Angry Beavers” is it not? And you don’t expect whining? That’s like when a Duck fan gets onto a Beaver blog and starts ripping the Beavers. Turn the channel, you don’t have to watch it.
I think the great shot ESPN had of the official looking straight into the play as James Rodger’s helmet goes flying off and doing absolutely nothing sums up the whole nasty mess. Then again maybe the official was thinking about what his was going to order at Chili’s after the game!
Also, there was even an LA newspaper article yesterday mentioning that the punt return went for a TD because of a missed block in the back. Geez.
