Valley Football Center/Coach Donations

The press conference is taking place now at this link: http://pac-12.com/videos/oregon-state-university-2

With Riley gone, I plan to make a donation to both.

I do encourage others do the same, as this is our chance (with Riley gone) to do some things.

You can donate here and choose exactly where you want the money to go. Even if you can only donate a few bucks do it. Things add up.

  1. Considering I’m still paying for student loans, and will be for a chunk of time in the future, I most likely won’t donate any money to the school. I still plan to buy season tickets and support the teams, but I just can’t justify donating money to the school while paying interest on money I borrowed to go there.

    • You can donate any amount, even $5. Those add up if 1,000 do it. And it shows fans are behind the new efforts. If not I get it times are bad.

      • Yeah, I can justify a small amount if it will at least show fans are interested in supporting a good product. I donated to the previous campaign for OSU recently. I have 2 schools coming after me for handouts constantly which is a major turnoff.

Portland State is even worse about trying to collect, calling you at dinner time and relentlessly.

Agree I get OSU stuff like once every few weeks. Always ignore it, but if they’re actually trying here I want to support that in some fashion, and think everyone should. The time to close the wallet was during the Riley years. Now there’s hope, so might as well give a tiny bit, imo. If they see all these new donors, even if small, they know people care.

  2. Ed Ray says we’re going after a “world class” coach. I get excited.
Ed Ray says, “that being said, I think Mike Riley was a world class guy” I get deflated.
Ed Ray says “I want to take it to the next level” I get excited again.

    Stop right there Ed.

    • They don’t have the sports architectural firm picked out yet. They plan on selecting one by end of year. I’m guessing after that’s done they will have some sort of visual.

  3. Yup.. I gave some money on Monday as well… Hopefully they are smart enough to realize there is some momentum with RIley out and think Gee if we make a great hire juts imagine the excitement and $$ that will pour in..

After Watching BDC in action though I’m skeptical.. What a smug prick.. What does that guy have to be arrogant about?? So confusing

  4. FWIW- i don’t know much about mgoblog, but he has some good followers

Hearing that Oregon State is about to make a shocking hire.

Oregon State hire won’t be particularly relevant to Michigan.

  5. Hmmm maybe thats why BDC was acting like such a dick?? He has a home run hire in his back pocket???

That would make sense I guess.. No clue who the hell Mblog is or what else he has leaked

  6. I think Andersen checks most of the boxes: defensive-minded, success at a high level, familiarity with western recruiting.

Hopefully he’s bringing Dave Aranda with him.

  7. Gary Andersen signs new contract (March 24, 2014)

Wisconsin on Monday approved a new compensation package for Gary Andersen that will pay the coach $300,000 more beginning in 2014.

The new deal increases Andersen’s 2014 salary from $1.9 million to $2.2 million. He will receive a $100,000 raise each year of his five-year rollover contract. Wisconsin picked up Andersen’s rollover earlier this year.

Nothing in there about what his buy-out is.

  8. Gary Andersen to Oregon State

Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen is leaving the school after two seasons to take the head coaching job at Oregon State, the school announced.

Andersen replaces Mike Riley, who left the Beavers this month after 14 seasons to take the head job at Nebraska.

Oregon State announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
