The Beavers have moved Cameron Collins to linebacker, as I wrote they should do on August 15th. He could have been learning the position; that's two weeks wasted.
Moving the oversized-for-his-position Cameron Collins to MLB would have been the proper strategy this off-season. Collins is too bulky to be chasing down and/or covering WRs and TEs…[…]… Tuimaunei is making a push this fall.

My guess is that Roberson moves to MLB, while Pankey and Collins are outside. Poyer backs up #28, who has come on strong.
This is a smart move.
The Beavers defense just got a huge upgrade with Roberson at MLB. The criticism due is in questioning why it took this long to make the change.

I think it depends what happens this next week. If Roberson and Collins are precocious…they will start game 1. If not, they’ll probably move towards that lineup by week 2 or 3. That’s my guess.
This will make Watkins the #3 safety and not too far behind him is Dillbeck. Poyer will stay at CB and will be a starter by game 5.
Collins and Roberson on the outside would cover a whole lot more ground than Pankey and Roberson. Wilson or Feti will take the Mike. But I was fearing another 12 tackle season from a Sam.
And I still like Dilbeck… in fact, I like him more now.

On your McAndrews comments. Have you seen the guy? He is super athletic and has a huge athletic frame for a LT. Do you think they are playing him to reward him for sticking around or do you think it is a case of him being the best guy for the job? You seem to be critical of this move and I don’t see it (although I haven’t been at practice). IMO if McAndrews is the real deal like he is made out to be wouldn’t it make sense to work in Phillip at LG? Just a thought.
If McAndrews starts, they need to put Phillipp at guard. Phillipp is too good to ride the bench. He did great for a freshman, and should be even better this year. Burke has not exactly lit it up at guard, so put him there if McAndrews starts.
And I do have a problem with McAndrews. The university has given him ~ 60,000 in free tuition (out of state) and he’s given back 2 games (I don’t think he even completed those games). That’s 30k per game.
