Is Frye really supposed to be in top 5 Pac-12 condition this year? Hadn’t heard how his recovery from TJ surgery has progressed, but he didn’t look like it late last season.
Seems like the Beavs unknown at catcher is big, considering how solid that position was for last year’s team.
I think its great exposure and gives us a great recruiting advantage to be ranked #1. Do we stay there all year? Probably not, but I think its really meaningless. We just want to win the Conference, and/or get a National Seed, make the CWS. I like our chances!
So do we know what the starting lineups will be, or will there be some different ones early to see what clicks? Do we know who will start at C, SS, and CF?
In his summer league, he threw 33-2/3 innings with 36 SOs and only 26 hits given up so his contact rate is low. He also had 20 walks, 6 HBP and 8 wild pitches which indicates some command issues.
I think ASU will be good, glad the Beavs get them in Corvallis this time around. As posted earlier, not so sure about UCLA with recent injury news, before that news I figured they would be the toughest PAC12 opponent.
The real goal, of course, is getting to Omaha; that said, I think chances of a PAC12 title are better than 80%
I think Fry should be the #3 starter to begin the year. So I’d go Wetlzer then Moore just to space out the lefties. He could shift things around each weekend for the best matchups, too.
It’s going to be Wetzler-Moore-Fry. It’s not even an interesting discussion unless Fry can’t finish the weekend effectively. Then we start talking about Schultz and the frosh.
My insider info tells me that some of the freshmen arms were quite impressive in fall & winter practice and that no rotation spot was considered set in stone. There is an embarrassment of riches currently on the pitching staff.
Are you going to screw with the 1-2 part of the rotation that came within a game of the finals last year? Fry is the only question mark in the Sunday/Midweek portion of our discussion.
I’m talking about the link. Although, I only read the title (has plenty of aces, but no rotation) of the article on twitter and assumed this is the link to Hatch’s piece by the way angry comments on it. At least I hope that’s the title. There might be hope for the write-up itself if the title is just wrong. If that’s a good summation, then the article is a waste of time.
It looks like there is good competition this weekend. Gonzaga has a burly right hander whose has a big time arm. I don’t know anything about their offense. I think the biggest question is where will ouroffense be, ahead of the pitching? Second, how well do we defend. Pitching will be solid we assume, but will they have to shake off some rust, and how many innings do you think the starters get?
Nebraska is another team not to sleep on, they had a real solid year last year, and many expect them to battle Indiana for the league title. They have a lefty I think going against us on Saturday.
Pacific Sunday and Monday, I don’t know much about them, but it will be interesting to see how Jace Fry looks.
ME!

The 2014 draft is gonna be painful…..
So… Moore’s not a top ten 2015 draft prospect from the Pac?
I’m suddenly scared of all the other teams. :)

I like the target on our back. Keep it there all year boys!
So exciting.
It feels like spring in the air here, too.
Sure doesn’t feel like spring is in the air here in Corvallis.
Try Minneapolis.

I’m ready. Planning on going to the second tournament in PHX too. I may buy season tix for home games as well.

The freshman Morrison will be the SS, others still ???
It was tweeted that Freshman Logan Ice will start at Catcher.
Excited to see Chandler Eden. Haven’t had a flame thrower in while. Kunz was the last one?

Dallas Buck revisited?
where do we see OSU finishing Pac? Consensus PAc 12 title pick? I think ASU is going to be really good this season. UCLA, as well.

1 seed makes much easier
The audio for all games will be available free through osubeavers.com
Looking forward to Friday.

I wouldn’t screw with it, I think it was more of a compliment as to how impressed the coaching staff is with some of the new guys.

Here’s how solid my thought is.

Well crap!
If any of us had been paying attention we’d have known it all before this sub-thread began.

OT… you all thought I was kidding when I said the OS logo was borrowed.

That’s a throwback logo for the baseball team… to pre-2000 times.
Note: It’s as ugly for them as it was for us.
On the bright side… Marty Lees can drag out all his recent OSU gear and pass it off as oSu swag.
Okay… since nobody else is going to do it, I guess I should go ahead and call the season.
We win.
Done.
Is there going to be weekend series preview?

Any streams this weekend?
No Streaming.
According to the OSU press release, there will only be radio for this weekend’s games.
