Not much to say other than the Beaver's pitching has been atrocious thus far. Better figure it out fast. One loss in SD won't hurt, but 2 or more will take them out of the top 25 and rightfully so.

It’s ALREADY 1-0 Torreros and they have runners on second and third and no outs. Beavers didn’t execute a bunt play on defense yet again

Dan Child is pitching and he’s getting hammered for the second straight start. I don’t get why Pat Casey is even throwing him today. Scott Schultz hasn’t pitched in a week, why not start him?

Serves Casey right for setting a horrible pitching rotation. Boyd/Schultz or die…
There really is no reason for Casey to ever start Baylis and Child. Paying for that decision.

Beavers finally get a hit and he then is picked off and Keyes follows that up with a deep fly out. Can’t have a much worse start.
3 hits in this inning and that should have resulted in a run. Figures.

Gordon grounds out but the Beavers got two runs back and are only down 1. They needed a clutch hit in the worst way from Barnes and got it. Should give the guys some confidence now. Need a shutdown hitting from Child, badly.

Child only allows an infield single in the second. Hopefully that means he is starting settle down. Really just need 2 or 3 more solid innings from him. Hopefully he can give that.
No doubt right now Conforto is the Beavers best hitter. Others are struggling and Conforto is really hitting the ball hard consistently and is taking a great approach each time.
Child has now retired 8 of his last 9 batters and has pretty breezed through his last two innings. Appears to have found a good groove.
Didn’t like the decision by Casey. A straight steal for Jake? Don’t like that at all. Doesn’t have great speed. A hit and run would have made sense but a straight steal? Not a great decision there. Ran the Beavers out of a potential decent inning
Execution on defense is not good right now. In the field the Beavers need to pick it up. Too many mistakes.
Because of a Beaver miscue the Tereros are looking at a potential big inning now. Runners on first and second and no outs

Carlos Rodriguez has the previous in a perfect situation but didn’t make the pitches and walked him and now the game is about to be completely blown open. This inning was possible because Danny Hayes didn’t field an easy ground ball. Pitching and defense flat out sucks right now.

Barnes walks. Nice start to a potential rally. Hate that the offense is always having to rally from big deficits.

baseball was supposed to be the redemption from the disappointing basketall season which was supposed to be the redemption from the football season. fandom sucks sometimes.
Right now, this team flat out stinks. Offense is having trouble producing, they can’t play defense and they can’t pitch. Having trouble seeing many positives. It’s early in the season but things aren’t looking too good.
Covey was the 14th pick overall in the draft, so I can give the offense a pass. Pitching and D has stunk most of the year, though.
Wouldn’t as big of a deal if this team wasn’t built to pitch and play defense. They aren’t built to score a ton of runs. Very frustrating to watch. They aren’t playing fundamental baseball and it’s killing them.
Agreed. Even when they were winning I was concerned…
If they can get this down to 3 they have a shot to steal another undeserved win…

The number 9 hitter goes yard. Schultz finally get out of the inning. Thankfully that’s the last USD to face Beaver pitching today. 13-2. After yesterday’s beating Hagar tweeted that it’s ok cause after the Beavs lost 18-0 last year to AZ they went on an 11 game winning streak, so much for that theory.
Luckily, tomorrow is CW basketball game. I think that we win the last 3 home games and go to the CBI. Unless we go to the finals of the Pac-12 tourney and go to the NIT. Or we win the tourney and go to the Big Dance!

I don’t follow baseball that closely so this is just something I’m wondering about out of curiosity.
Is there any correlation between how well OSU baseball played and who the coaches were? In particular I’m wondering if losing Dan Spencer to Texas Tech was a bigger loss than we thought. Beavers lead 1-0 in second inning against K-State thanks to Jake Rodriguez home run in today’s game. Hopefully that’s a good sign and these guys can get themselves right.
