Since I will not be up before 10am, I'm making a game thread tonight.
Beavs start playing real teams after this, but they also return home. Let's face it, over two weeks on the road is a tough trip to open the season, even if the teams are bad. We should withhold judgment until they get some rest, play home games, and play real competition. They've been bad, but they might be wiped.

Not only has the NIKE money intimated the NCAA, but the company’s contracts with ESPN and many of the football talking heads pre-empts critical analysis by the leading sports news aggregator; thus will Oregon get a pass. Thank God we have a few remaining objective outlets like Dodds at CBS or Jack Arute on Sirius/XM.

Conforto and Davis in 3-4 spots are looking REALLY good. Both are hitting the consistently hard and are producing incredibly well. Great to see. Btw, love this lineup today. Barnes in CF may be the pushing things defensively but the amount of offense the starting OF have today is worth it. Also, anytime you can get Tyler Smith and Tommasini out there for their offense and defense is always a good thing. Keyes is at DH. This is the best lineup, IMO.
wilkerson sounding strong too
I know it’s just Northern Illinois, but this game could be a real confidence builder for him and hopefully he’ll consistently pitch well.

Wilkerson is just not putting guys away. He’s getting to two strikes and isn’t putting guys away. A single and a double with two strikes and it’s now 4-1

Riley Wilkerson is just too inconsistent right now. He breezed through the first 3 innings, had a little issue in the 4th but got out of it, in the 5th he’s being hit hard. Second time through the lineup guys hit him hard consistently.

good to get the last win of the road trip. a loss to northern illinois would’ve been pretty atrocious.
The St. Mary’s team we lost to just turned around and beat Arizona State as well. Perhaps they are better than we’re giving them credit for.
ASU needed a walk-off hit to beat NIU. I think St. Mary’s is better than they get credit for but ASU also appears to not be as good as everyone though.
