    • I think he’s always going to be inconsistent because he’s a shooting guard in a point guards body. I don’t think he has much of a sense of setting up his teammates in the right spots to score. He’s all about scoring and it’s a herky-jerky style.

  1. That could’ ve been a disaster. Held on a little too long. Collier heads to the locker room with a jogging limp. He almost landed on his head on a breakaway dunk.

  2. Beavs really opening it up now. I think many people expect the Beavs to immediately start blowing out inferior opponents like these guys in the first few minutes. Don’t panic if they’re still within 10 at halftime. The superior talent and playmaking ability will rise to the top.

    • My hope is that they’re just playing to the competition but I’m not very optimistic about the upcoming conference schedule. The only ray of hope is the way they played at Kansas but that just may be an anomaly.

  3. if nelson wasn’t on fire this could have been a loss realistically, which is embarrassing. the defense is bad. the 131 won’t bail you out against good teams like it did against portland state.

  4. It might still be too early to tell but right now its looking like it might be another sub par year. Beavs current RPI is in the 150’s. Eyeball test says panic.

    • You may be right about the eyeball test, I know comparative scores can be a slippery slope, but apparently Portland St. and Chicago St. have gotten a little better since last season or else the Beavs are a little worse or it’s a combination of both. I’m not real excited about what I’ve since the last couple of games overall. Quacks are coming up quick, I think that’s the first test.

  5. I think to some extent you play to the level of the opponent. But try to recall that three years ago we easily lose to such a team.

But conference play is the real yardstick. I hope we can break even.

    • jesus. I swear some of these coddled athletes nowadays are ginormous pussies with egos the size of the moon. It’s called adversity. There are winners and losers. Not everyone gets a trophy and you don’t go off on the coach just because things aren’t going your way. When I was growing up if you got stomped, you went to practice the next day and worked harder because well, that was not a good feeling and you didn’t want that to happen again. Some of these athletes today just give up when the going gets tough. Of course our coddled society is to blame by everyone getting a trophy just for “participating”. To quote Dan Hawkins, “IT’S DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL! IT AIN’T INTRAMURALS! Go play intramurals brother.

    • I’ll hold my enthusiasm until they are signed and enrolled. We’ve lost several pretty good recruits in the past to poachers on signing day.

    • @Cassidy_Rob
Cerritos Community College DT Kyle Peko is off the board to Oregon State. Peko said he committed last night, but waited to make it public.

They are in on two other DL JC guys Edwin Delva and Lyndon Tulimasealii as well, both have us in the their sights. See Recruiting forum.

Hunt would round out the defensive class nicely. If they can close on Kearsley and Ross, and maybe sneak in a Dowling that would be a much better class than the recent years. But we shall see they staff in the past would not close down the stretch.
