From what I’ve seen of Arizona State they’re a cut above mediocre. Their Freshman QB, Jayden Daniels, was the #2 dual threat QB in the nation. He missed last game with an injury, and another 4-star came in and did well. When I’ve seen Daniels play he’s been impressive. If he plays I think ASU wins. If the backup plays I think it’s a pick ’em. Final pick on Saturday morning.
By the way, I was surprised to see Oregon State is 2nd in the Pac-12 North. The Conference is down this year, which might explain how we’re getting away with the lack of depth. The Beavs are improving, but other teams are objectively bad. With our roster, we shouldn’t be 2nd in the North.
The Beavs need to get a home win to help perpetuate the rebuild story, and this is their final shot.
30-28, undetermined.
If playcalling returns to the level of most of the year, and if the D plays like last Saturday I’ll go Beavs by 17
Repeating:
TIME FOR THE “GOOD” LUTON ?
We’ve seen that Luton can have ups and downs. (Never mind how “up” and how “down”, never mind the cause or causes)
Seems to me a return to the mean will result in at least one Good Luton appearance in the next few weeks.
His calling card is supposed to be the rocket arm/ability to make long throws, the next two opponents were gashed by explosive plays this weekend:
Danny Gonzales, the ASU DC, said this about their loss to SC:“The difference in the game were the two one-play scores. That’s how teams like that beat you.”
The Cougs writer says: “Once again, the big plays were a big issue in WSU’s defensive dud against Cal on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Seven times in the 33-20 loss, the Cougars gave up a run or pass play of 20 yards or longer.”
Good Luton + opponents who have had problems giving up big plays + a Beavs D which improves each week……………..could that add up to 1 or 2 more W’s?
CAVEAT: How many long, explosive plays has Luton actually shown us this year?

I’m expecting mediocre Luton based on what I saw from ASU.
I’m expecting one, maybe two more Good Luton’s but no idea when. OL will have a lot to do with that.
He should be good vs WSU. I think we got one more of each. ASU = mediocre Luton, WSU = good Luton, Oregon = bad Luton (though we all know rivalries can be weird…)
Weird… Angrydamus predicts that Luton will have a bad game against Oregon(21), mediocre against ASU(56), and good against WSU(112)… ground breaking prediction angry, it’s almost like you looked at the defensive rankings or something lol
I don’t know about Luton at WSU. I wonder if his injury will be on his mind.
has Luton ever had a good game at home?
Cal poly? Against cowboys wasn’t bad
ASU has 13 sacks on the season which is mid range. Bad Luton is simply hit/pressured Luton so we have a good chance of good Luton for a chunk of the game.
If OSU beats ASU and Wazzu, and Stanford loses one of their last two games (probably will lose to Cal), the Beavers will finish top three in the division. Had they won on Friday, it’s likely the Beavs would finish second.
What a strange season.
Soccer won, they need to beat #1 ranked uw at home next week to get into post season, Luke got shelled tonight, more control problems
Darn! ERA now 4.66
Almost hogs fired fb hc today, they might go after leach
Hope they’ll be talking to him this week and the word gets out.
Leach is on all the speculative lists for the Arkansas job. I don’t see any connection other than Leach trying to prove his system can work in the SEC, but he already turned down that chance at Tennesee.

What’s it say? It links me to generic tweets about basketball and nothing about his “lover”…
USU and his boy GA
BigBoyPants Gary Andersen and his Utah State team got spanked recently by BYU. I wonder if he’s been tweeting about how his team needs to start wearing big boy pants now. What a freaking slime ball he is.
Guy hasn’t tweeted a thing since March. Nothing after football wins or basketball wins etc. retweets a link about Utah state “ Let this sink in. Since the

How did that contract get approved? No wonder he is so loyal to Anderpants.
the Beavs caught a break with a 4:30 kick for the ASU game; it should be dark and gloomy as the Sun Devils trudge over to the stadium from Gill. I wish it were about 10 degrees colder at kick than is currently forecasted. ASU in Corvallis is one of the few predictable good prospects for OSU in good years and bad.
Have to turn on the running lights on the yacht.
Ummm, better lay in a supply of triple A batteries?
Hey Beeg: did you rush the field on Saturday? You guys are lined up well for a Rose Bowl bid after Ohio State heads to the CFP.
Hard to do from the upper deck! I got some great pics and video as we soaked up the moment. The PA was playing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” as they rushed the field LOL. Finally have a AD with some brains and vision. Fleck is an excellent coach. Next weekend in Iowa is huge. We have not won there in twenty years, so not counting my chickens, or shall I say hogs. Hope it does not turn into a repeat of ’08/’09 with the Beavs. There is actually a buzz about the team in the Twin Cities, which is nothing short of a miracle.
An interesting observation. Beavs were probably going to be overmatched by the U Dub D line, but played it straight and got pummeled. Penn State has a great D line rotation, so to compensate, the Goph’s played much of the game with a sixth huge O lineman. It was a brilliant strategy. They made the calculation that if given time to throw, they could not cover our receivers, and it worked beautifully.
You mean going for it on 4th down ten times and trying stupid onside attempts wasn’t the answer?
Yup
Angry why are you always right? It sucks.

No way they hire Leach.
Luton selected for the Hula Bowl. Players for these games are selected by pro scouts for a close look. They interview, put through drills and, of course, watch them perform on the field. Watch Luton latch on and spend ten years as a perennial backup, like Kellen Clemons AJ Feeley and Matt Moore. Not a bad gig.
PS: Angry. it might be nice to bust out of snowy, cold Colorado, bag some rays and watch your boy. Maybe get an autograph!
Good for him if he wants to be in the NFL and makes it. Seems like a nice guy. I feel bad for that franchise, though!
It’s hilarious we’re 3 games from his career ending and most people still don’t know what he is. He’s a funny player, and I will give him credit, he’s managed to confuse more people than any QB I’ve seen other than maybe Seth.
Speaking of seth, i dont remember where he ended up. And was he successful?
And was he successful?
With the ladies.
It looks like he went to Texas Tech and had 30 catches for 300 yards and 2TD last year. This year he isn’t playing for some reason (sired too many kids?).
Sounds like a broken collar bone.
But to your point, not sure if you were kidding or not, but this offseason piece on Collins has it all. A picture of Collins hurdling a player, and another baby.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.lubbockonline.com/news/20190306/collins-duty-bound-with-fatherhood-increased-football-role%3Ftemplate%3Dampart&ved=2ahUKEwjfy7KL8OLlAhWFup4KHaCuACQQFjATegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw27WAhiJT7AZ2XGj5Fte6Jt&cf=1
Hes hurdling a player and a baby? That’s some talent.
Hopefully he’s holding onto the “baby”!!
Luton is a 40 percentile QB. He can never play above what he is. He ranks 8th or so in the pac and that is what he is. Gebbia should have got a series last week. It is ridiculous that everything but the QB was tried. I’m worried Gebbia isn’t as good as we think.
I hold hope that for once Luton balls out better then expected. He thinks he has a good game against ASU, absolutely smokes WSU and implodes to his worst against the ducks.
A broken bone is simply another hurdle in life to overcome.
I’m here in peace… Derek Anderson was a very confusing era. One week he looked like a first rounder and the next he’d throw 3 picks. In his 3 years as a starter he had a 50% completion rate and 57 INTs. Luton does have the skill set of a career backup. That can pay well while he works on his golf handicap. There are worse jobs to have.
That’s a fact, sign me up for some clip board duty.
Anderson couldn’t put much touch on the ball. If Hass didn’t have such great hands, Anderson would have had more picks. Seems like a 1/3 of Anderson’s INTs when through a Beaver receivers hands….Anderson didn’t even have the touch to throw a decent RB screen.
In college, Hass made Anderson look better. In the NFL, Braylon Edwards made him look decent in Cleveland…Hodgins makes Luton look better. Anderson didn’t have Luton’s look of fear though.
You can’t watch defensive line talent like SF and SEA tonight and seriously think Luton has an NFL future. Those guys are freaks of nature. Probably brain dead by 40, but Clowney and Bosa are ridiculous humans. One of the interior D lineman from SF just pancaked the SEA center on one play, leapt him and sacked Wilson, just hilarious and absurd. That’s no place for Luton.
You can’t watch defensive line talent like SF and SEA tonight and seriously think Luton has an NFL future.
Funny you bring that up. I watched with that in mind and was laughing…
If OSU’s defense plays the 3 remaining games the way they did WA and the offense shows up, I think the Beavers beat ASU and WSU and even might make the Civil War competitive for a 1-2 quarters. I think we hit the 6-6 mark this season. ASU and WSU are not good defensive teams and so if our O-line does its job and protects Luton and opens holes for the RBs, Beavers will win both games. OSU 31-ASU 24; OSU 37 WSU 27.
I still think WSU is gonna be the hardest one in the schedule if they hold together mentally. I don’t gunk we can handle the quick passes and endless receivers. We are setup to pressure from the ends and our guys in the middle usually have done responsibilities on passing plays. Corner and Safety talent is probably a bit low for that kind of attack too as they tend to play soft and keep everything infront.
With them passing on 3 seconds each play in an offense meant to hurt zones and operate I. Space for receivers it’s a big ask. Only way we win it imo is of the offense goes hog wild and WSU makes mistakes.
I agree with your assessment that that is exactly how WSU offense is designed; however, it really depends on how the LB’s speed and coverage matches up with being disruptive and confusing to the WSU offense. I’ll discuss WSU more next week, but this week will depend solely on how healthy Jayden Daniels is and how well the OL can block the DL and pick up the LB blitzes. ASU averages about 2 sacks a game and it’s a mix between LB’s and DL. Which means they have a decent disruptive defense.
Totally, if lutton has a clean pocket we will win.
Hoping this is one of the games JJ can take over and open up the passing game. I’m more confident of that vs WSU, from what I’ve seen their LBs flail a lot and that means good gains with JJ.
ASU still feels like a pick em.
They’re going to honor Tyler Hilinski at the WSU game. His family will be there. Have a feeling that will rally WSU. Luck o’ da Beavs.
https://youtu.be/87YVPIYA2Ew Leach post game
It’s was probably for the best I didn’t look at this blog for the weekend.
UW was a bad matchup. Maybe they spotted a tell in the playcalling. ASU will be a better game. Don’t think the weather will be a factor. Pick em sounds right.
Men’s team looks different this year. They look confident in what they are doing. Much less self inflicted wounds. A pretty big win.
Tres if healthy should be in the top 2 for pac 12 player of the year.
Hunt and Lucas are going to be good ones. Just need to get as much experience as possible. They tried to do things that probably worked in high school but don’t now. If they can be spot up shooters, look out.
Sad to say but dastrup looks fat. Tinkle rightly pulled him when it was clear he wasn’t going to be able to get it done. Silva looked like a capable backup. Reichle again played his role as glue guy well. Ethan needs to figure out his shooting, if he shoots well, this game was going to be a blowout.
Saw the women’s team, they look like they’ll just overwhelm lesser opponents. A good combo of shooters on the outside and two legit bigs inside. All 5 players on the floor are scorers. They’ll have quite the depth when Corosdale and Tudor come back. I said it before but Rueck basically has like 10 starters. The minimum seems to be elite eight.
OT: Saw UO beat USA Women’s National team, Ionescu(sp?) led with 30 points. Pretty good given how Stanford and OSU fared.
Looks like if ASU Freshman Jayden Daniels is healthy enough this week to have a full practice, he’ll be the starting QB. Otherwise, it will be Yellen as the starter on the road for his second start. Either way, if Jayden doesn’t appear to be 100% on Saturday and turns out to be less mobile; this could be a factor by ASU not starting the other true freshman from the get go. This matchup intrigues me all the more. ASU is a -2 1/2 pt favorite on the road at this point with the over/under set around 58 1/2 pts, I could see a 38-21 or 35-24 type of game playing out. I like Oregon State in this one for the mere fact of the OL has something to prove just like they did after the Stanford and Utah games. This game really comes down to the OL creating running lanes and pass pro blocking. If the defense plays like they did last week, which I honestly have no reason to believe they won’t, then I really like Oregon State winning. As for the over/under, I’m almost thinking it would be safer to take the over. Last Friday, the pick 6 was the first spark the team has had in scoring points with the defense since Manase Hungalu returned an interception 21 yards for a touchdown against Portland State on Sept. 2, 2017. That’s a 2 year+ drought of a defensive touchdown.

For those that are interested, here’s the youtube link to today’s press conference with Coach Smith:
https://youtu.be/Y5kArfTH2WA
No question about trying gebbia. I liked the audible question. Hard part was most third downs were long yardage so an audible to run up the middle would be tough. Looking back worth trying to make the defense stay honest.
What did ya make of the answer to the audible question?
Smith is usually fairly straightforward, I may listen a second time but seemed he glossed over the question.
He called an audible on his answer.
He basically stated that, “Ya there’s room for calling an audible if the player feels there’s an advantage to changing the play.” Basically he’s saying they want to run what is called by the coaches.
The TN WR is beating out Hodgins. Make sure to vote.
http://biletnikoffaward.com/fan-vote
it’s pointless, and really meaningless. the impact of the fan vote is 1 out of 550 total votes in the overall voting. 0.18%
Media/ex-players/past award-winners make up the other 549 votes. The Tennessee player will be lucky to receive any of those votes, if we’re basing this award on actual play on the field. I don’t know that Isaiah Hodgins has much of a shot at winning either, but still much better chance than the Tennessee player will.
They have so many fans, there’s no chance Oregon State fans can keep up anyway. Their player was added as a candidate today and they’ve already overtaken Hodgins, who has been leading the fan vote for a full month, up to this point. They eclipsed our 1 month’s worth of votes in a few hours.
Tennessee wins twitter.
I did learn today that Vol fans on twitter are as bad as Nebraska/Utah/Duck fans combined. I regret opening the door to them to enter my feed
Are there any good fan bases?
As derpy as Beav fans are they’re pretty nice. I’d imagine WSU fans are pretty cool since they also lose a lot.
I didn’t realize you vote unlimited daily.
I voted 3 times and I noticed a .01% drop off. I wonder if they penalize for multiple votes. That would be smart.
Are you from Chicago?
Anyone going to the ASU game? I will be visiting back home and taking my girlfriend to her first game. It will be my first one since Wheaton’s played I think. Hopefully can get a win.
I took her to the basketball game against UW where Thompson hit the last second 3 so hopefully were good luck.
I may be at the game. Wife and I were going to go, but the sitter just cancelled so I may have to watch from home. Looking for a last second sitter now… any of you degenerates want to watch my 3 and 1.5 year old? ???
Wife watches kids.
Promise to take wife out for a nice dinner to thank her.
Call up buddy and go to game
Drink heavily at game.
Problem solved.
I like how you think.
https://pamplinmedia.com/pt/12-sports/443338-357842-whats-ahead-for-oregon-state Jim Wilson, and callan with Kerry
Lots of love for Luton and some hesitancy about Gebbia in that discussion.
I didn’t listen, but if true that is bullish for Gebbia. Eggers might be the most clueless QB analyst ever. He was ripping on McM for no reason other than the coaches said he was worse. He even parroted everything they were implying. I saved the email discussion between us for posterity.
But its Wilson and Callan saying it.
Live stream to tonight’s women’s game…

21-13 Beavs end 1st
34-24 Beavs @ half
52-43 Beavs end 3rd
69-57 Beavs final
Kennedy Brown and Taylor Jones both showing promise, not playing like freshmen.
Next up DePaul on Thursday; they’re rated #18, so an early test.
Actually, they’re still freshman and Kennedy Brown is still pretty raw. Taylor Jones looks more polished but she hasn’t played against Pac12 level talent so far. My concern is when does Corosdale, Tudor, and the Eastern Euro player start playing. Beavers down to 10 players and still don’t show the moxie against the full court press. This team will get better as the season progresses, but with Oregon and Stanford, it’s going to be a tough thing to overcome. I don’t think OSU beats Oregon this year because of the youth factor but I hope I’m wrong.
I watched a few minutes of the wbb game. Perhaps it was the phone screen, but the non freshmen (do I need 2 say freshwomen?) appeared huge. Not just tall but large, like hefty. Is that a good thing?
Brown looked really tentative offensively the few times she got the ball down low in the post. She definitely prefers to play on the perimeter, which sort of seems a bit out of position for a 6’6″ gal in the women’s game. Jones has a more polished post game , but she was significantly “out-quicked” at the 5 and got into foul trouble early. Brown did make some plays on the defensive end though.
Beavs offense was sloppy and disjointed. Players out of position, running into each other, or trapped in traffic on the dribble. which happened numerous times. Kinda painful to watch. Rueck’s teams tend to be turn over prone, which quicker teams will exploit, like last night. Not sure why that is still a consistent issue with his teams.
DePaul will be a good test. This team needs Tudor and Corosdale back on the floor for sure.

A couple of players in the transfer portal that may have a connection with Addison Gumbs?
https://247sports.com/Player/Miguel-Edwards-82435/ Oklahoma CB Soph Oregon State offered him in August of 2016 under GA
https://247sports.com/college/oklahoma/Player/Starrland-Baldwin-93990/ Oklahoma Soph
Yes please.
It appears Trent Bray, Blue Adams, and Addison Gumbs are all following Miguel Edwards on Twitter, but Miguel is not following the coaches back. Neither the coaches nor Starrland Baldwin are following each other on Twitter. Nicebeaver would have more info on these guys though since he’s probably been following them longer on the BeavRecruiting Twitter page?
I haven’t seen or heard anything to make me think they’re looking at OSU as a landing spot, but that doesnt mean anything. I also didnt know about the Auburn transfer.
MORE ON OFFICIATING FIASCO:
Two articles up on the officials mistake last week in the Cal/WSU game. It is worth the few minutes it will take to read both.
Wilner goes step by step and points out several factors which aren’t immediately evident and were not addressed in the statement issued by the PAC.
He asks if it would have been better to correct the error even after the following play.
Then the Spokesman Review reports while noting that:
For the second year in a row, Leach and the Cougars were at the center of the Pac-12’s biggest officiating debacle of the season – one that captured many of the conference’s headlines with top dogs Oregon and Utah on bye weeks.
Of course, Leach can’t comment directly “Hmm,” Leach started, “I’m trying to think of the least expensive way to answer that question.”
Leach’s solution to the continuing poor officiating in the PAC is to double their pay:
“Really if you think about paying a crew, a whole bunch of officials double, I mean that equals two blocking sleds, right? I mean we can all afford that,” Leach said. “So then you get the best and the brightest and you carefully evaluate and then you fire the bottom 20 percent each year, then hire the best and the brightest from other conferences since you’re paying double. I think that would be pennies on the dollar, money well spent.”
https://www.marinij.com/2019/11/12/pac-12s-explanation-of-the-officiating-gaffe-in-cal-washington-state-requires-further-explanation/
https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/nov/11/mike-leach-encourages-media-to-carefully-analyze-o/
It just keeps getting worse and worse. I did not realize there was no Washington St. number 15 on the field. That just cannot happen. Scott has created a culture of spin and damage control. He needs to go.
Hit youtube and find Leach’s 11/11 press conference. The last part is him talking about student loans, and it’s gold
That was hilarious. That dude is so funny.
Jeffrey Manning Jr has entered the transfer portal.
Helps explain why we keep hunting for JC safeties and DBs, even after we have a few committed already.
Where do you see the transfer portal guys?
Here’s the link to the Oregon State Transfer Portal. He’s in there now. https://247sports.com/Player/Jeffrey-Manning-92761/
Manning actually had a pretty decent offer sheet and he has pretty good size.
Eggers pins chances for a W this Saturday on the O-line. He notes that the Beavs have only scored 28 offensive points total in three of the last four games. (7 vs Utah, 21 vs Cal, 0 vs UW)
“If the Beavers’ offense shows up, they have a great shot at victory.
Off of what we’ve seen the past month, I’m not sure that will be the case against a more-than-decent Arizona State defense.”
His pick: Arizona State 27, Oregon State 21

Men’s team vs Oklahoma. +3 underdogs.
If they win, it’s going to go a long ways if they are on the bubble at the end of the year.
Teams are likely going to focus on Tres. Need other shooters to make shots, specifically Ethan.
Ethan takes plenty of shots, he needs to start making some!
Tried to watch part of oregon/memphis. This is pretty ugly basketball for being a top 15 matchup
Anyone getting the game on ESPN2? I’m getting a bunch of blowhards yammering on about the NFL even though it says the Beaver game is on.
Nothing yet
Game was delayed should tip off at 8:39
Was just noticing, if Tres can average around 16 ppg or more this season, and play every game on the schedule, he will overtake Gary Payton for the all time scoring leading scorer at OSU.
Should we get a basketball thread up or no?
Interesting how the refs are letting the players get away with placing a hand on the small of the back of the shooter on the layups. I must be rusty at what is and isn’t allowed in basketball these days.
Tres just said F*** lol
This is surprisingly good fun basketball to watch. The refs are letting the players play.
I am liking it… OSU actually playing like a team that has a coach
What I’m liking thus far is the team is passing the ball to Thompson at the point after every rebound. They aren’t going for a breakaway on every rebound. The breakaway doesn’t happen as often because players don’t follow their shots as much anymore. So since they get back on defense instead of fighting for a rebound, it takes away the breakaway.
I wish Dastrup was in shape… we’d have a great C one-two punch
He should be by the middle to 3/4 of the season….hopefully. This is a really good close game!
Yeah this is entertaining… Both playing pretty good ball… not looking like an amateur competition at all
Wow… Oregon State has the best team overall but Oklahoma has some studs
They are definitely athletic. Both teams are hustling and playing with great effort. They are finally watchable early on in the season. It’s way too early to tell where Oklahoma and Oregon State fall, but they are both evenly matched in the way they play. Oklahoma players have hops while Oregon State has height.
ET off to an 0-5 shooting start, as is tradition.
Should be 0-6 but he didn’t get credit for an early missed tip put back attempt off his first miss.
Something’s gotta give here. Not sure how you justify having a starter who shoots under 20% with his volume of shot attempts.
I agree… he’s not the fastest, best ball handler, or passer… throw in the shooting and the willingness to take shots, I am just not seeing it… haven’t watched him close on the other end… he should be playing shooting guard or forward… he can’t create his own offense
My bad. He’s shooting 25%. Carry on
I keep thinking ET is too good of a player to keep shooting like this, but this is how slumps start and never end. Thank God, Hollins is having a great game or the Beavs would be in trouble. Not shooting the ball all that well. And why isn’t Dastrup in shape? Was he injured or not able to practice with the team last year?
He went on a missionary trip to Panama… no comes back in shape
I’d buy the missionary excuse if he was in Panama last year, but he was already in Corvallis and practicing with the team last season. He would have played for us last year but the NCAA denied his request to waive the 1 year sitting period.
They typically go on their mission when they are 19. I don’t think that applies to Dastrup.
It’s called a joke and yes he really did go on a two year mission… he transferred from BYU… https://www.google.com/amp/s/democratherald.com/corvallis/sports/beavers-sports/basketball/osu-men-s-basketball-dastrup-ready-to-get-back-to/article_38652f7c-d2c6-5826-ada9-6ff22301aed8.amp.html
No, I understood the mission part, I have family who are LDS and I lived in Utah for more than a decade. What I meant was that he’s already served and been back a while, so he’s had plenty of time to get in shape.
He redshirted last year. This is on the coaching staff if he is out of shape.
Is the ghost of Jack in here, I’m getting downvoted on every comment again, no matter how Vanilla! I think it’s Angry because he liked my rant a couple of years back!
Not me. You’re one of my favs.
Thanks, Angry. It’s funny, that it started up again. I remember when Jack died or went AWOL that you commented that it had stopped.
Someone is just fucking with you.
It’s Debbie Downvoter. Give it 5 minutes and I’ll have 3 downvotes for not saying anything.
To be fair ET is 0-5 in FG and 0-1 in 3 point shots. BEAVS need a true point guard or two this next recruiting class.
ET couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. I never would have thought his best game for the beavs would be his first game.
Just like that… Oklahoma pulling away… Beavs can’t make anything
Lots of Beaver missed shots leading to Sooner buckets on the other end lately. Sooners suddenly up 9 with 13 minutes left, but with that single digit lead it already feels like this game is getting out of reach.
Sooners are making everything right now and the BEAVS are missing a lot, of not 75%+ of their shots. :/
Lead up to 14. Beavs can’t make a shot against this Oklahoma D. Feels like game over
Well…now here’s the old beaver basketball coming out. Throwing up 3’s left and right even if it’s deep. Looks like when they fall behind they rely on old habits to get them back into the game. :/
Yep these are Tinkle coached players that we know
The sons are shooting us out of the game. Tinkle 3-11, ET 2-12, rest of the team is 12-28
Well, I’m off to bed. It’s 12:07 am here. I don’t see the BEAVS pulling out of this slump and Sooners going into a slump.
Getting blown out by a team picked to finish 8th in their conference. Pretty weak effort guys.
Well that changed fast. I read my inbox 15 minutes ago and we were a great team.
Does Reverend email you personally?
Haha.
I get an email every time there’s a post. Many I gloss over, but I’ll glance to get a gist. The gist seemed to be we were great and playing like a team with a real head coach…then we sucked 15 minutes later.
Yep… pretty much sums it up… we had open shots, couldn’t make them… at one point they were 1 for 14 in the 2nd half… hard to win when you shoot like that
What was noticeable to me was the players were getting winded in the second half quickly and their shots were getting sloppy.
The Rev isn’t that invested in the hoops season yet. However, there is a guy on campus that could probably help this team… He’s a 6’7 field general with nimble feet and a rocket arm. He remade his body in the off season so much that I’d bet he be a great rebounding wing.
Gotta be accurate in bball…
Another reverend with a boy crush. Sigh.
P.S. Still waiting on your “behind the scenes” take on what’s going on at QB…
He’s probably Luton’s dad or uncle.
Science says your excessive use of homophobic jokes is due to your insecurities with your masculinity. High school gym class must have been pretty rough on you?
https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs11199-017-0761-z
So now the obvious connection between religious figureheads and pedophilia is homophobic?
Are you one of those creepy “pedophilia is a sexual preference” pukes?
Thompson is garbage
I wonder if we would be saying that if he was allowed to operate as a shooting guard? We HAVE point guards.
So thats why Tinkle continues to refuse to use him.
Watching ET last night, he seemed comfortable shooting set jump shots, but any time he was on the move, he was pretty awful.
For instance, he was 3 for 5 on his 3 pt attempts and his free throws were good. The ones where he was set up along the perimeter and received a pass and shot it, he actually looked pretty good. But his layup attempts and running jumpers were really bad (which he was something like 2 for 12 shooting)
There was one point where they had to have a replay to see if one of his layups did or did not graze the rim, in order to reset the shot clock. Several of his shots around the rim didn’t touch the rim. I don’t know that I’ve seen a starting NCAA player miss this badly this frequently. something isn’t right.
WT just can’t get over the hump. Another chance at a statement game and they lay an egg.
Maybe he just sucks.
Or that…
What would the statement be? Would beating Oklahoma be a big deal?
I watched about 5 or 10 minutes a few nights ago and didn’t see anything to be excited about. Didn’t know 90% of the team and none of those guys stood out as players.
Iowa St and Oklahoma were both NCAA tournament teams last season. To beat both of them could have helped OSU if they end up on the bubble down the road. Beavs’ schedule doesn’t give them that many opportunities to impress. Texas A&M on the road will be another one. Maybe missed opportunity more than a statement?
Were any of these players (new guys) I don’t recognize big time recruits?
New guys, Lucas, Miller-Moore (JC transfer), Silva and Hunt saw some minutes last night. Lucas played the most, but his shot was not falling and to me, he looks like he has a ways to go on defense. Dastrup is the BYU transfer, he played 12 minutes and had a few points and rebounds. Looks out of shape (even the commentators mentioned it last night). Right now, the guys from last year are getting the most minutes.
I don’t get Dastrup. How can he be in such poor shape after redshirting last year? He should have known he was being counted on to provide valuable minutes and this is how he prepares? Was a bit excited after the first half but the team reverted back to their old ways in the 2nd half. Good thing we have WBB.
The HC f’d up big time. Responsible for the team being in shape. Forcing ET at the point to make him more valuable to a pro team rather than playing Vernon and winning games. Maybe WT took a few too many elbows to the head. He needs to be called out on this. Somebody in the press needs to grow a pair and ask that pointblank to him.
Box score shows Vernon played 4 minutes. I thought he would be in the running to start at PG this year given his ability to pass the ball and make 3’s. I’m not trying to be an arm chair coach here but why is it WT doesn’t realize the need to have a PG on the floor to facilitate the offense. The PG can have 8 points and 6 assists and the team could still have a good chance to win. Vernon could get that on 6 shots instead of ET’s 16 shots for 12 points. His shots would probably be easier as well. Frustrating.
Can Gebbia play PG??
I agree with beavergoper. ET is a 2 guard and should be off the ball. ZR comes off the bench sgain. Why recruit Vernon or Hunt just to bury them on the bench for a couple seasons? Press should ask Tinkle about it, but probably won’t.
From what ive seen in 2+ games? At best an NIT team.
Someone posted this recently but it seems appropriate for the bb team. https://youtu.be/qi1LMIUOOAI
Looks like WT’s ceiling is pretty low. Maybe Scott can coach the men?
Which means we should extend his contract. Once Tres leaves and Ethan keeps being Ethan, WT will definitely take this team to a new height.
Xmas wish list:
-Football wins 2/3
-Rueck has the women playing their best at the end of the season and makes a tourney run to at least Elite 8
-Canham in his first year has the team finish top 3 in the division and they make it to second weekend of the NCAA tourney
Did anyone catch Jay Bilas making a snide comment about WT’s weight? It’s not like he’s fat, but after the comment I noticed that it did look like he’s put on a few pounds. Barnes is paying him too much!
makes sense, how can we expect his players to get in shape if their coach isn’t in shape?
Bilas did one of those stupid “getting to know you” type segments and WT said his fav food was Lasagna when they went back to live, Bilas made the comments.
Maybe they’re having lasagna practice instead of basketball practice.
So his overactive pit sweat smells like garlic………..yuk
Ya I noticed that too. Tres’ favorite food is Chicken parm. hmmm….protein vs. carbs? Ya, we can see why Tres is in better shape.
@Nicebeaver, any surprises coming on NLOI signing day?
They wouldn’t be surprises if I new them.
The main surprise I guess is the class will be bigger than expected, because we’ve opened up more scholarships recently with Smalls and Manning Jr leaving.
I’d watch out for activity with O-Line recruiting close to signing day. We badly need experience there next year. Wouldn’t surprise me if Coach M has some JC or Transfer options lined up. and he plays his cards close to the vest with recruiting.
It would really be nice if they could pick up a couple of ready to play O linemen.
Anyone know what our current scholarship count is for football? With the transfer portal I have totally lost count.
If the BB coaches are forcing ET into the PG position to improve his draft stock, then that shit is backfiring big time.
I sure hope that isn’t the thinking, but who knows. If WT fucks with Vernon’s playing time, which he already has to some degree (0,15 and 4), I think we will see another young player transfer out. This team needs a true PG, they don’t need Reichle and Hollins on the floor at the same time.
I was looking at the men’s basketball transfer portal, looks like there’s a Freshman PG from Kansas who entered it who is a 4* player…maybe WT should look into the same process JS is with Football?
https://247sports.com/Player/Issac-McBride-46057775/
Smalls left the program, have a feeling Gebbia is next
Oh shit, that’s the first transfer that actually feels like a loss.
If he couldn’t get on the field, must not be good enough. We are deep at TE. Still stinks for culture.
Man, this one does hurt. I honestly thought he was redshirting this year due to not getting on the field. He’s not listed on the OSU roster nor is he in the 24/7 sports transfer portal. I wonder if he’s officially retiring from football, or he isn’t 100% sure where he wants to transfer to at this point?
Man, he loved OSU, too.
Gebbia leaving would be a disaster. He’ll light it up somewhere else, and Luton will be to blame.
He’s not on the roster but not yet in the transfer portal, not that that means much.
He is in the transfer portal now
Beam him out Scotty….
Maybe he still does, but feels he was underutilized or that he’s retiring from football all together? Does he play basketball? I’m sure WT could get him a spot on the basketball team.
Looks like he’s been injured most of the season. You’d think if he was medically retiring the school would announce it.
He was also a GA recruit that stuck with OSU through the transition. Could be that he didn’t quite fit the TE mold JS’s staff was looking for.
Opens up a roster spot. Hopefully Overman commits.
Yeah he was always a bit light for a D1 TE but he’s an athletic dude. He seems like a guy they could have fit in in the passing game with a little imagination.
Maybe there was writing on the wall with Quitoriano and Musgrave both getting game snaps ahead of him.
Yeah I wouldn’t even line him up at TE, 6’4″/220+ you could certainly put him in the slot as a mismatch in plenty of situations.
So you are saying he is a little Smalls to play TE?
To Beavergopher: Groan…
Aside from his personal reasons for this decision; credit due for his social recruiting. A number of players who still are on the roster were actively encouraged by him to join.
If he does intend on playing football at another school, he will benefit them.
Absolutely, he was awesome. He got thrown in the fire last year as a freshman and gave 100%.
Seems like there could have been a place for him, TE, slot ST (particularly for trick plays)….maybe even D if he had the mindset for it(?) Big safety?!? Small LB?? He was a real recruiter/ambassador for the program.
Yeah it feels short sighted. Dude was built more like a big receiver than a small TE. Redshirt him and have him work on speed and routes between now and next spring.
Don’t think Luton would be to blame if Gebbia leaves, that would clearly be on the coaches.
Gebbia would be an idiot to decide to leave at this point unless there are relationship issues. He has no comeptition for the starting job next year.
Unless Sears commits, but yes with having a year in the program he should be the clear starter.
Gebbia would have to sit another year wtf would he be next when he is most likely next years starter unless he is just all hype. He could go to a lower division.
Gebbia is a high academic achiever. It’s likely he’s on track to graduate this year if he wants to and could grad-transfer out in the summer and play immediately.
Anyone that wants to leave the program now is not on board with the momentum JS has right now. Leave now so JS knows what he needs to recruit. If you want to be a part of the next phase of the rebuild, stick around and put in the work. We need good players that are starters, backups, special teams, etc.
The good news is Smith has been replacing weak spots with upgrades (easy to do when you recruit bottom of the barrel P5 for 4 years).
Just took a look at Manning’s recruiting profile and he actually had a decent offer sheet and was a middle of the road 3 star. He should land somewhere.
Unless he never lived up to those expectations.
Never bought into the #rowthebeaver culture.
Strange. That’s not usually a hard sell.
Was feeling bad that Hodgins got taken out of the fan vote for Biletnikoff by the rabid Tennessee fanbase…..so I set up a voting macro.
Deleted cookies and blocked trackers on my chrome browser and then set up a macro that goes in and votes every 8 or 9 seconds.
Curious if this will make a dent.
I love it!
They must have flagged my IP. At first it was counting every vote and resetting, but now it is telling me my vote has already been counted. Bummer. Was worth a shot, i guess
For whatever reason, if i close and reopen my browser, it gives me a fresh new set of votes to work with. Looks like it caps at somewhere between 15 and 20 votes.
I may have to build a new macro that closes and re-opens the browser…
Something tells me Vol fans already have a similar set up, because their vote count blew up over leas than 24 hours of voting. They don’t have THAT many fans, fo they?
Supposing it’s difficult to alter your Ip each time?
My work PC is routed through a VPN, but i can’t install macro software on that machine.
The looping macro that closed and opened the browser each time was working the best, but problem i ran into is any time the browser displayed in a format that was slightly off from the original display, it causes the macro to get out of sync. Too much effort to fix it right now, but i had it working for about an hour today

I get to go to the game Saturday night!! First time in a few years. I’ve been watching the chainsaw video non-stop to get amped up. Go Beavs!!
I think this OSU team is too stacked to really take ASU seriously. Beavs 55-7.
OT: Quacks sign #1 WBB class.
Correction: Uncle Phil’s money signed #1 class.
Beavs sign a 1st team Under Armor AA in Volleyball. Girl from NY.
Woah WTF a little early to declare both basketball seasons are already off the rails don’t you think? Lots of talent but thanks Obama for turning everyone into entitled wimps!
Kinda assumptive lol. Considering the demographics of Oregon State football fans likely they are not Obama fans.
I do agree that it’s ridiculous to call the season over after acouple games.
I don’t think any President has that power — not even our self-proclaimed “stable genius.”
Was it u nicebeav who said to use tickpick.com instead of StubHub?
That’s my preference. It’s worth shopping both though in case you find a smokin deal
Several baseball commitments on the Baseball Twitter, including some familiar family names: Mick Abel, Thomas Dukart, Jordan Donahue.
https://twitter.com/@BeaverBaseball
Mick isn’t related to Kevin. The others are younger bros. I saw on a perfect game, kavin Keyes brother had committed too.
You know things are good if Mick comes. He’s potential top 5 pick.
Almost no chance Abel ends up on campus. Getting injured is about the only chance we have.
I’m curious as to when the 2020 baseball schedule will be released. We’re only about 3 months away from the season opener in Surprise.
First three weekends:
Surprise
@Miss State
@San Diego
I just finished watching the Oklahoma game and I’m kinda surprised to see people baggin on the mens hoops. They look better than last year and Reichle’s improvement takes away that 4 on 5 feels that was common. The bench also has a deeper feel. If ET would’ve shot normal, they probably would’ve won.
He did shoot normal. Hard to believe you could watch that game and be optimistic. Tres is a loser. Doesn’t make the right plays at right time on consistent basis. Our defense was atrocious and WT isn’t a good game coach. If he could prepare his team better in practice he would have to constantly yell and scream at his team throughout the game. Just watch Rueck… Phil Jackson… coach K… Steve Kerr… Popovich… or any great coach. Ralph Miller could light a player or ref up but rarely had to provide much instruction during the game
*wouldn’t
ET shot 35% vs OK. Last year he shot 44.4% for the season.
I predict ASU wins 35-0 and I won’t be watching.
In all honesty I can see this game going either way. However the Beavs have not proven they can win at home. They are capable of winning the next two but this team is so Jekyll and Hyde that it’s a crapshoot. I took ASU in the angrybeavs pool. I’d love to be proven wrong but I just don’t see this team winning two more games and going bowling.
There was a lot to like about the defense last week. Gives me some hope.
Not winning the civil war again this year. And it won’t be close.
Are you saying that amplified chainsaw noises will not carry us to victory?
This may be old news, but I noticed last night Huffman and Machado over at 247 switched up their crystal ball predictions for one of our current verbal commits, from OSU to UW.
Samuel Peacock, a 2020 OLineman.
Seems like a flip will be announced sometime soon.
Also, what’s the point of a crystal ball prediction if you can just switch it up any time you want?
Ouch, O line is a huge need and he looks like a really good one. Would that be the first decommit from a Smith recruit?
Nothing on his twitter page about Washington. I hope Beav recruiters have taken notice and check in with him. Maybe we need to remind him as to why he needs to play for the Beavs!
Hmmm…What changed in 4 months that makes him think Washington is the better choice? That would be my question. If it’s that Washington is close to home, then that’s a hard one to recruit against. If it’s development, we have the best Offensive Line coach who is recruiting him. So hopefully Coach M takes note and gets into contact with him ASAP.
On her podcast this week she said he only recently received the UW offer. Guessing that’s where he had hoped to go all along.
Did she mention if he is still considering the Beavs?
Maybe he watched the game last weekend….
That was my first thought too, BG.
And even with this constant shitty traffic between Gig Harbor and Seattle, that’s still a much shorter commute for his family than Gig Harbor to Corvallis. And maybe he grew up loving UW.
I’ll be up in Gig Harbor this weekend. What’s his address? I’ll go by with flowers and a box of chocolates. Do you think he’d like to hear the chainsaw as well?
Peacock has flipped
I hope he enjoys getting his butt kicked by our fierce front line the next few years. Take that Peacock!!!
Shit. Can’t blame the kid, probably a life long UW fan.
He ruffled my feathers.
Line for asu has crept up to -3. Seen 2.5 too.
Basically the game plan should be the same. Run the ball to get to short third downs. And get just enough stops to hold on.
Beavs have been able to respond after bad losses. But for whatever reason, at home something just goes wrong. It’s really a mystery to me. Hopefully they can get going on offense. But seriously if Luton isn’t moving the ball in the first half, put in Gebbia. Do something to spark the offense.
It’s simple thought thinking really. Put in the quarterback who can run on 2nd/3rd and short and keep ASU’s offense off the field. That is the formula to beat ASU; UCLA proved it.
ummm, Gebbia?
Who else?
Women’s team with first test of the year tonight. Even vs ranked, they need to go undefeated in the non conf.
Game starts at 7 and will be streamed by The School

Talking beavs podcast with Kenny Simonton, really good interview https://mobile.twitter.com/NBCSNorthwest/status/1194775272672964608
they talk about recruiting psychos, and also what lead to Riley’s problems in his second stint
Ken Simonton should be on radio or TV he’s always got something good to say. He needs to be a bigger part of our program and they should do more with the ambassador thing for him. I totally agree with him that Riley got away from taking the real bad ass dudes and taking too many guys who’s daddy was a dentist and momma was a nurse. And liked what he said about Jonathan, that he relates to everybody, even loudmouths, he’s good working with everybody who’s working hard.
To be fair, MR’s staff had a lot of high profile recruits end up ineligible. It’s possible they shifted their strategy to target guys with better academic profiles because they got burned so many times. Not necessarily the right approach, but it’s understandable.
More on the Officiating Fiasco at WSU last Saturday:
The Pac-12 made a significant factual error in a statement acknowledging a momentous officiating error.
The original statement by the PAC said the referee informed WSU of the mistake, “after the next play was run.”
When asked when he was informed, Leach said, “I think it was the third quarter, maybe the fourth,”
After questioning by Wilner, the PAC said “While the Referee realized he had assessed the penalty on the wrong team after the first down play was run, he did not inform Washington State until the next media break.”
It was six minutes till the “next media break”.
https://www.marinij.com/2019/11/13/pac-12-corrects-mistake-in-statement-about-mistake-yep-were-talking-about-officiating/
Just making note of this, Samuel Peacock is rated .8333 on 247sports right now. Now that he’s a Washington commit, I expect that goes up to around .86 or so. Hell, why not an even .90?
WBB up 46-31 at half. Game was back and forth until midway through the 2nd quarter when a 14 point run in about 90 seconds gave them the lead. Scoring is coming from all over which is good to see. DePaul is athletic and giving them problems with pressure but when they get in the half court, they become overwhelmed due to the Beavs size and great passing.
Aleah Goodman half court shot to end the third quarter. 73-54 Lady Beavs.
Taylor Jones already looking like the next Ruth Hamblin/Marie Gulich type post for Rueck as a true freshman. Put up 24 and 9 tonight. Pretty impressive, I didnt expect her to be playing so well so early.
Beavs were stroking it tonight from 3.
Best news of the night though, Kat is back, although she didnt see the court much in her first game back
Taylor already showing better hands than Ruth or Marie at this stage of their careers, or even when they were Sophs.
Great to see Kat and Taya back on the floor.
Another good game from Taylor
Beavs win, play again Sunday at Gill
I’ll be at Sunday’s game. Yes, Taylor Jones really has great hands and does not put the ball on the floor or hesitate around the basket. However, let’s wait and see how she does vs. better level competition, but she’s really going to be very, very good when it’s all said and done. Brown is a little more raw and unrefined in her talent, but she’s going to be very, very good too but it will take her longer. Can wait to see the two new players just signed by the Beavers although I can’t recall their names but the young lady from somewhere in the south (Arkansas?) is very talented along with Sasha GoForth.
Agree.
BTW, didja notice Brown tap that rebound to a teamate last night? Doesn’t show in stats but she deserves “half a RB” for that; great court awareness.
Sasha is from Arkansas, Savannah Samual from Georgia.
OT: Looks like Washington State has some locker room troubles. Starting Safeties/Cornerbacks Daniel Isom & Trey Davis have been dismissed from the team. Overall 11 players in the past 365 days have left WSU.
I’m starting to like our chances each passing week against WSU. Seems like Leach is losing his grasp on the team and losing the locker room. Definitely something is going on up there in the Palouse
Link to the article:
https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/nov/14/defensive-backs-daniel-isom-trey-davis-dismissed-f/
Also, I think everyone already assumed this was a defense we could score on. It’s the offense we need to be worried about.
Are these guys really starters? They don’t show up anywhere in the defensive stat lists.
As per the article above, “Until Monday, when the school released game notes for Saturday’s contest against Stanford, Isom was listed on the depth chart as one of two potential starters at cornerback, alongside Hicks. Davis was listed as one of two backups at nickel.”
So you’re right only Isom was a starter at either corner position, but Davis appears to have been a backup at the nickel position.
“Avast! Players walk Palouse Pirate’s plank!”

PHIL STEELE REPORT (WEEK 12):
#65 Arizona State at #38 Oregon State
In last year’s 52-24 Sun Devils win, Beavers’ RB Jermar Jefferson ran for 254 yds & 2 TD’s but ASt’s Eno Benjamin set a school rec with 312 yds rush. ASt led 24-3 but OSU went 75/5 & 89/11 for TD’s for a 24-21 deficit with 1:01 left in the half. ASt went 75/7 for a TD w:14 left to lead 31-21. ASt got 3 TD & and a SOD to open the 2H and won 52-24 (-21’). Last time here the Sun Devils jumped out to a 30-7 HT lead in the eventual 40-24 win (-7). The win
snapped Arizona St’s 5 game losing streak in Corvallis. ASU leads the all-time series 29-13-1. Jonathan Smith is 0-8-1 ATS as a HD. Ariz St is in a USC/Oregon sandwich but no one will overlook Oregon St now that they have upset UCLA, Cal and Arizona all on the road. Last week Washington came into Corvallis and dominated more than the final score with a 420-119 yd edge and OSU had just 6 FD’s. ASU has a solid D allowing foes 22 ypg below their season avg. Ariz St was without QB Daniels (61%, 11-2) last week but went toe to toe with a strong USC team in a 5-point home loss. OSU allows foes 28 ypg above their average. Versus 3 mutual opp ASU is -32 ypg and OSU is -110 ypg. ASU opened 5-1 with outright wins at Mich St
and California and are capable of winning here.

OT. My daughter might go to espn game day tomorrow. She might hold a sign that says “Bear your bottom, your gonna get a whippin”. You think anyone will try to make it out like it’s something racist?
Of course someone will “try to make it like it’s something racist”.
They are entitled to their opinion, my opinion is your daughter should ignore them. I doubt there will be any reaction beyond the SJW’s on social media. How thick is your daughter’s skin?
And, if you are anywhere near Forney please thank the folks there for sending Taylor Jones up north!
I probably should know this (or maybe should not want to?) but what’s an SJW?
Social justice warrior
Aka perpetually offended whiners looking for whatever “ism” in daily life. They provide nothing of substance to society.
SJW is a term made up by right wingers so they can still feel like they’re living in the 50’s in their head.
Comment of the year!
I’m offended that you think I might be offended
For Whiskey soaked napkins and Bend Beaver. Damn! I agree with both of you. Perhaps a bit of truth in both?
Pretty much.
SJW are activists who put a spotlight on issues and people who are under served, ignored or abused by society. They demand equality for all by generally being upset and loud about generally minority issues.
People who don’t like them think everything is working in the system and don’t want it to change. Some even hope for a roll back to some ‘golden age’ where they perceive things were better.
Basically it’s the ends of the social theory spectrums butting heads when they would be better off in discourse trying to understand each other and make the system work better.
38-24 Beavs
I don’t think the system is working, don’t mind change, think we’re living in the golden age (medicine/tech), and still hate SJWs.
Yeah I wasn’t presenting a binary response to either side lol. I don’t like close minded people that refuse to consider new information. That can be true of any tag we give someone.
Gotcha.
The SJW are a big reason we got Trump and might get him again. They’re super indignant about what they perceive as injustice and go about it in all the wrong ways, not fully understanding the causes of the problems. They’re tolerant of you so long as you agree with them, etc. So many hypocrisies. I’m a moderate and will vote either way or do a write in, so I have no skin in either “side”. My goal is sound economics for this Country, so whoever seems aligned with that wins my vote. If a Country has good economics everything else follows in due time.
We’re the biggest economy in the planet and I pay 40k a year for healthcare that I would die without within a decade or so. Waiting for economics to trickle into improving everything hasn’t work so hot in the last 80 years. It’s a price of.the system but if its only us d to make more economy then it’s just a super highway for money to matter more than anything.
Again it’s a way to live but it doesn’t work for me or my priorities so that informs my vote. We should all vote on our thought put ethics, priorities and needs and not the basic patterns that are presented as binary actions
Correct, but the cause of all of that is the Federal Reserve.
Until SJWs realize that, they’re fighting symptoms not causes. If people understood the Federal Reserve, pretty much everyone but Jack and CEOs would bond together and vote it out. It’s probably the one thing every American would agree on if they understood it, and it’s also the #1 cause of financial instability and our decline in standard of living/inequality, and yet people blame this and that when the root cause is right there.
It’s cool you are so certain. I think the problems are pretty vast and institutionalized. I don’t think solutions can be boiled down to one clean fix.
That would be sweet but sounds like a simplification that we naturally make to make the picture graspable. Infact it’s exactly what an SJW does, they focus on a single issue intensely, obviously methods are different.
All that garbage said the Federal reserve is a a huge issue that would help alleviate loads of problems.
It really is the root of every major modern day issue if you study it. I’m certain because I read about 20 detailed books about it and everything surrounding it (counter arguments, etc), and I can pinpoint the cause and effect after reading all that.
I care about things like healthcare and inequality, but unless we address them at the root I’m not for the “fix”…that fix actually just makes things worse. Which is what we have been doing, and which is why things are getting worse.
Thats a nice definition of a sjw. Here is mine.
A sjw wants to take my guns. Nope. Kiss my ass. A sjw wants my hard earned tax dollars to pay anything and everything for some illegal that just came into my country. Nope kiss my ass. In short a sjw wants me to live my life as they think it should be. I just want to be left alone to live as i see fit. I bother no one and follow the law. Pretty damn easy. Pretty sure im not as “woke” as you nuclear but im getting by. Go beavs.
Idk how you can be left alone in a globalized society that depends on massive economic, social and information connectivity. Very few people are actually independent of society.
Guns and taxes is certainly a opinion with a fair amount of buy in and a legit way to live. Makes your vote easy atleast. You may want to look into how taxes are used in your local economy. That mindset in rural areas has had pretty terrible outcomes for infrastructure and services. Or not, we all live the way we wish when we can.
Do you really believe they are all after your guns? I have 3 (mostly nostalgia since I don’t hunt any more — got a .22 for my 6th birthday, etc.) and am not concerned — most gun control proposals I’ve heard do NOT involve taking your guns, although the more rabid SJW’s may want that. Any proposal to take away all guns wouldn’t have a chance in hell in this country.
He has a point, though. Many Bills started that way and then progressed. e.g. the income tax was originally just the rich.
You give an inch, government takes a foot.
You make a solid point. For example, here in Oregon, the citizens voted for the death penalty and the politicians keep pushing confusing bills to go around the will of the voters. It’s not even an issue, I particularly care about, but it highlights that we are not always a democracy. SJW’s are sometimes willing to set democracy aside to promote their agendas. I felt like I was a liberal when I lived in Utah and now I lean more conservative here in Oregon.
Angry – is it not a restriction if someone’s rights if they get shot and killed by another citizen? Public safety and personal rights always go hand in hand and are contradictory.
McKalk, you might be a moderate. I always find I’m learning more toward the side not in power or with momentum…sign of being a moderate.
I personally think this Country needs more moderates. Everyone is dug in to their flawed sides.
can’t help myself…us “libs” don’t want your guns. We do want restrictions on purchases (time, mental issues, legal matters, etc.)
Is that too much to ask? The all or nothing mindset is not working, and a bit simplistic don’t you think?
Otherwise, we can offer thoughts and prayers to another school, or in my case, my stepson who was shot last year at the Borderline Bar and Grill.
Isn’t the mental health one a contradiction? Libs say not to judge anyone for mental health, those people should have equal rights, etc, and then they want to ban them from getting guns. Seems incongruent.
I dont think all “libs” want my guns. I know left leaning individuals that own firearms and are strong proponents of the 2nd amendment. But it is surely not a stretch to say that many of my fellow citizens would be happy if we had to give them up. And many are in office and many are running for president. These are facts. Either piecemeal or in one shot, they want it to happen. Homefry- i hope your stepson is ok.
There are those who would define opposing political or religious views as “mental health issues.” That’s my reservation about the mental health thing.
Unfortunately, I think increasing gun violence is strongly related to the growing mental health crisis in our country. People are largely withdrawing from society, interacting with others less, getting less sympathetic and more depressed. This is a recipe for spontaneous violence.
There are laws on the books for everything you just listed. The problem comes when law enforcement/health officials/people with various authority don’t follow clear rules and procedures to disqualify a person from purchasing guns.
Oregon has recently made a big deal about how many gun purchases were denied with the new laws in place, but they refuse to tell how many of those denials ended with an arrest. After all the 4473 (the federal form filled out to purchase a gun) has a warning right on it about lieing on a federal form. There is 0 chance a person who is prohibited from buying a gun, doesn’t know their prohibited.
Until they a start enforcing the gun laws on the books, there should be no new gun laws.
Angry: “unless we address them at the root.” Precisely why I don’t have twisted knickers about the campaign. Too much money, too long, debates are rigged.
Hey, angry…who opened the gate and let the idiots out?
I thought this was the prison lol
No worries game thread upcoming soon, and Jack is rolling in his grave but still can’t comment..
Very good…
I guess I did regarding how a sign might be perceived.
Since you all have extra energy this morning, take a moment and stuff the ballot box for Hodgins.
I havent been running my macro the last two days but somehow he is still making gains. It appears the flurry of Vol voting has already ended and they forgot to keep it up. Time to try to sneak up from behind and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Or at the very least, vote 1 time and i’ll set up the macro to vote throughout the day. I’ve fixed the issues i was having the other day and so far it is counting every vote i cast.
To infinity, and beyond!
Oh, and dont post anything to twitter because that will only wake Vol fans up.

If one was so inclined to vote multiple times and habe each vote actually count, open an icognito browser window. Bookmark the link above.
Vote, and then close the window.
Re-open and repeat.
To know if your vote is being counted, scroll up after voting to the message just above all of the names.
It will either say “thanks for voting” if your new vote is being counted, or it will say “we’ve already counted your vote” if it’s not working.
Opening and closing your incognito window will clear all cookies so they can’t track you.
Macros? Direct HTTP calls are where it’s at, my man :P
Get busy man, if you have the know how.
I saw some vols fan say voting ends tomorrow night.
So far have made up 3% of the gap from this morning.
Figure if I can leave this running throughout the day and overnight it should be a pretty tight race by morning. Any extra votes will help!
The folks who thought hiring Riley after a losing season was a good idea just gave Frosty a two-year extension. Seems to me they’re worried about him jumping ship because ruling from the Corn Palace wasn’t quite what he expected.
Should’ve followed the BDC playbook and at least waited until they became bowl eligible.
Golly, I got a raw deal! Gosh darned corn people can go to heck!
Who’s ASU’s QB tonight?
Hey BeavGopher I’m watching your rodents. They looked flat early on but woke up on this latest drive.
Down 13-3. I’m rooting for them for you this year.
Edit. Oh no, 20-3…
If anyone wants to play the track the qb stats game I have a pdf made up. shoot me an email at bantonconsulting@gmail.com and I will send them out before the game.
What does it entail?
I count how long the qb has/takes to throw and track the result. Basically mark down a number and a check mark on each throwing down
I don’t feel like doing that, but I’m curious to read your results. If a QB scrambles to buy time, do you count that as time to throw?
Don’t look now, but the demoralized, derailed Cougs are up 13-0 on Stanford. So much for that optimistic narrative.
It’s strange they’d respond to Leach abusing them. The game isn’t over yet, though.
Maybe he will break them at half time? Showing off for a new coach?
They’re in the process of Cougin’ in. Leach will dig in. This likely doesn’t end well.
All I know is WSU corners are not good
This Davis Mills guy from Stanford will be an NFL QB one day if he doesn’t get hurt.
