    • At least in the NBA, if you have a bad season, the silver lining is the draft can really help. I’m all for the Blazers getting failing and landing Cooper Flagg at #1.

In college, there is no leveling of the playing field. You earn less money, you get less opportunities to rebuild your roster (since rosters cost money) and your program gets stuck circling the drain.

      • Flagg’s a project at the NBA level. He still needs to grow into himself. He’s a great piece to build around three or four years down the road. But his size and skill set will be the norm in the NBA. He’ll get beat up inside for a couple years. He’s certainly the safest pick at #1.

I like Johnell Davis for being the star of this class, when it all shakes out.

        • Are you high Jack? You do realize he’s the first high schooler to make the USA Select team? During Olympic prep he held his own against Team USA as a 17 year old high schooler.

He’s not a project unless you think Lebron was a project coming out. He is easily the best prospect since Lebron.

          • That’s not what I’m saying. He’s going to finish growing in the next three years, and throwing him to the NBA wolves as the savior of your team has the potential for injury and limited development, due to that. That’s a project in my book.

Portland (or Utah, or whoever) won’t be winning with just him on the roster. They’ll be better, but it’ll still take time to overturn the roster and build. He’s a project like Kobe was one. Protect and develop the asset, until you put a team around him that compliments or enhances his skills, after he’s refined them at NBA speed and finished growing.

If he’s just thrown out there to play hero ball with a depleted roster, life could be tough for a while. We’ve seen a lot of athletic bigs who rely on dominating around the rim struggle when they get to the NBA. And a lot of them try to do too much and end up on IR. Then they have one good season and bolt for somewhere, maybe where the roster is already built.

          • Ya and this is a team that’s building around young talent. With him in a couple of years they can actually be a threat and compete in the playoffs. I don’t think anybody expects him to step in and take us to a championship.

Haven’t watched the last two games. The election was too important. Ladies and gentlemen, we did it!!!

Trump isn’t even in office yet and he’s already ignoring 1 federal law. He has refused to sign the ethics agreement required to start the transition. Who needs an ethical Precedent?

And of course he’s also already told the Senate it needs to stand down (take a recess) so he can appoint whoever he wants. Which violates the spirit of the Constitution. And of course Republicans have indicated they are happy to do so. Who was it that told me he needed Congress?

Please, I understand your frustration but I’m going to respond every time someone brings it up.

I have not brought it up myself once. Talk to those that start the conversation. Because I’m going to finish it if it’s started.

You’re the idiot that worships a grifter that hates you simply because he pretends to hate he people you hate.

Truth? Trump badly wants to be accepted by the very elites you hate and Trump claims to hate.

Stay stupid and unAmerican. I know you will.

            There’s the misogyny.

Nice to see you all live up to it.

Is boy also a reference to black men? That would be on par with who you voted for.

            2

Oh… and POTUS, by definition can’t just live in my or anyone else’s head.

That’s about the stupidest shit ever uttered, unless I became one of those whackadoodles who refused to pay taxes or acknowledge the authority of the USA as a sovereign whatchamacallit. Then it would make sense.

Sorry, but the guy who will be on all our TVs and affecting our lives daily is not living in anyone’s head. He is real and palpable… and an abjectly stupid human who can’t make money running a casino bought for him by his daddy’s money.

Why are you a Nazi sympathizer? Or are you simply a Nazi? It’s hard to tell which of you really know MAGA is a slogan of the American Nazi Party, and which of you think it’s actually Dumbshit’s idea.

Since you did it, you should go up to your wife and repeat the new Republican slogan, “Your body, my choice.”

I can’t wait for this shitshow to start. It’s going to be so much funnier than Dumbshit’s first four years.

    • 3
      4

Can you give me odds on whether or not Dumbshit creates new concentration camps, or if he’s going to go with his commercial real estate cronies and convert empty big box stores into smaller camps?

What’t the over-under for the number of camps? What’s your final solution?

  2. I think one of the big factors that people aren’t talking about is the drop off in Oline play since coach M left. Granted we lost a first round pick but still the Oline is causing the QBs to play worse and causing 3rd and longs by allowing run plays tackled in the backfield. They’re very inconsistent. It makes it hard when we’re running well and then they let two run plays tackled at or behind the line of scrimmage in a row.

    • Coach M might be the best in the country. There will naturally be a drop off. But they haven’t been horrible. Inconsistent, yes. But they have shown some good play. Been battling injuries as well.

    • 2
      3

lol… You mean since Fuaga and a couple other long-term starters left?

Coach M is great, no doubt. But let’s get real.

The O-line and run game look a lot better than I expected. Pass-pro needs some work, but a competent QB can change that perception in a hurry.

D-line is the disappointment. so far. If injuries and depth are the reason, so be it. Stock the cupboard, work on development in the off-season. Come back next year ready to prove something. But this year’s D is more of a concern than the O.

      • I mentioned Fuaga and players leaving and never said that the offense was a bigger problem than the defense so I don’t understand why you responded like that.

        • It’s more playcalls than anything. Not sure why we keep trying the inside zone, when it looks like we’re going to run it. Put a hat on a hat and drive.

We had the same issue with Lindgren, even with great talent. I don’t blame Coach M for that.

  3. Football season has turned to a full on disaster.
Ben G Tried to make plays he could not make and be the hero versus taking safe throws. No pass rush, coupled with poor tackling leads to a horrible defense.

  4. PFF ratings by position group for the AFA game. They have a solid defense, but their secondary is their weakness. They have struggled to score most of the year, but our run defense is so bad we may be just what the doctor ordered for them!

    Offense
    Passing- adv OSU (lol)
    Rushing- adv OSU
    Receiving- adv OSU
    Run blocking- adv OSU
    Pass blocking- adv OSU

    Defense
    Run defense- adv AFA
    Pass rush- adv AFA
    Coverage- adv OSU

This is our first game in a while where we’ve graded out clearly better than the opposition. This looks like a win UNLESS the team is basically just giving up on the season now. If we lose this, it’s a sign that Bray has lost the team and I’m hopping on the Fire Bray train.

    Re: Ben

The discussions surrounding him remind me of a saying I once heard.

Who’s the most popular player on a bad or struggling football team? The backup QB.

People always think a QB change is all that needs to happen to improve a bad team. On occasion that is true, but it’s more often like putting lipstick on a pig. This team has deeper issues than just QB play. I’m fine with giving Ben one more chance before we move back to McCoy or go to someone else. Despite Ben starting, I wish they had subbed McCoy in every once in a while, for wildcat type plays and/or triple option looks on short yardage situations. In hindsight, it may have been prudent to put McCoy in on our ill-fated first and goal situation.

Man, it feels like 2016/17 around here!

Toothless offense, ineffective defense, calls to fire coordinators, no established QB, hopes of a decent basketball team, more posts about Trump than about the Beavs…

    Sad!

      18

I did find it ironic we had a holiday that celebrated defeating fascism 6 days after 52% of America chose a fascist.

And the Beavs appear to be heading downhill very quickly in football.

    • 8
      12

      Meh…

Football is what it is right now. We needed to be blessed in the injury department for a stellar year, and the opposite has occurred.

I will actually watch hoops this year.

And please don’t bring up Dumbshit and his bunch of wannabe Nazis (and actual Nazis, for that matter). When you bring up Dumbshit and his wannabe Nazis (and actual Nazis), you will just get responses about Dumbshit and his wannabe Nazis (and actual Nazis).

          13

The words Trump’s former cabinet members (a majority of them) have said about Trump? That he is a fascist (or at least very dangerous) is a conspiracy?

Everyone that worked in his cabinet that opposes him now just has TDS right?

Jam being eligible to return would be great but I think he played in more than 4 games.

I’m not the one voting for someone who literally repeats ideas and phrases from Hitler’s speeches and passes them off as campaign rhetoric.

Sorry, dude’s either a Nazi wannabe, or all the Nazis love him because he is one. And whoever voted with them are one of the peas in a pod with them.

I just wonder where all the election fraud concerns went?

It’s weird how 8 days ago, Trump was going to be cheated and was very worried that the election wasn’t fraudulent, but now? Silence on the election fraud.

Almost like it’s only fraud if Trump loses?

Kind of like how it’s not communism when Trump says he will lower prices but it is communism when any Democrat says the same. Double standards are fun.

Take your med Jack. Mom is afraid you’re going to end up back in the hospital. We all love you and don’t want to lose you for another year.

You do realize that Jack spent a year in the hospital because of stuff like this.

You do realize that screaming Nazi Nazi Nazi is akin to screaming Russia Russia Russia, and are warning signs for instability.

You do realize that seeing misogyny in every post is bad shit crazy don’t you? Being his wingman is not helping Jack.

You do realize voting for a traitor is a sign of stupidity?

You do realize US Intelligence still thinks Trump is owned by Putin? You’re just too stupid to recognize reality.

Sorry you prefer the fascism to liberalism. The founders built you a great country, sad you hate it here. You could have just emigrated instead of destroying America.

I am not Jack’s wingman. I speak for myself.

            6

            So… a big nothing?

            This is your rabbit hole.

This is all about you. If you don’t have the wherewithal to defend what’s about to happen, why create it?

Should we talk about tariffs, instead? It’s an immensely stupid idea, but at least you can say the idea isn’t lifted verbatim from Hitler’s speeches and never used by anyone since, because the rhetoric is so well known by anyone would be embarrassed to have identical ideas and rhetoric.

I don’t think Dumbshit will get a lot of things done, because the GOP really doesn’t want to crash the economy… and he’s too stupid to knows how to build anything of substance. And I doubt Jack Smith becomes the next Hans Litten. But it won’t be for a lack of trying… after he emerges from his bedroom at noon or so every day.

          10

I didn’t expect the double-down on the misogyny… and to somehow be even moreso.

I shall reset my expectations. Thank you.

Directly responding to very real issues is how an adult handles differing ideologies well. You can have all the opinions you want about whatever. I am simply stating that an abjectly stupid trust fund brat who can’t make money running a casino his daddy’s money bought for him just completed a campaign in which he utilized direct translations of ideas and terms and phrases Hitler commonly used.

Add to that he’s been a known racist since the USA found him and his daddy to be so in 1973… and again when the two slumlords ignored the ruling.

You may not like any of these facts. You may not care. But what you can’t intelligently do is call them opinions.

You want to throw some opinions out, we can talk about those too.

            8

            Blah, blah, blah.

I’m just saying the same stuff Trump’s own 1st term cabinet says about Trump.

Sorry you voted for a fascist traitor and feel the need to defend such a ridiculous decision.

Why hasn’t your boy Trump signed the ethics papers federal law requires all President-Elects to sign? Why do you find it okay that laws don’t apply to your Dear Leader?

          • 2

This discussion belongs to nether of us.

Refute the facts. Go ahead. That’s the discussion you all want, and this is precisely what it looks like. People who voted for Dumbshit voted for some of the stupidest shit ever, and they deserve everything they’re about to get.

I am at peace with this.

That doesn’t mean I won’t participate honestly in the discussions I don’t start. In fact, I can more freely be honest, because the veneer of coded language was simply removed by Dumbshit and openly replaced with exclusively Nazi rhetoric.

Dude’s misogyny was even worse. The last two weeks were him just speaking it out loud.

And to top it all off, he’s a convicted felon. It’s funny that people voted for a literal fraud.

One fun fact nobody is talking about:
Dumbshit is the first President who was either a resident at the time of election or a native-born from Florida.

If you give me 1 non corrupt reason you think it is okay for Trump to refuse to sign the ethics papers federal law requires Trump to sign before the Presidential transition I’ll never post about Trump again.

I don’t care about Trump. Jack is my concern.

            Neat deal, answer my question.

Why do voters not care that Donald Trump refuses to sign an ethics document that he is required to sign by federal law?

Why is it okay for Donald Trump to ignore the law? Why do voters like you support Trump being above the law?

          • 2

And have taken lots of Psychology classes.

Trump’s own Chief of Staff and 4 star General John Kelly has stated Trump likes the Nazis.

I am perfectly comfortable being as “bat shit crazy” as John Kelly.

            Should be simple to answer.

Why is it okay for Trump to refuse to sign ethics papers federal law requires him to sign?

            Poor mosogynyst says what?

You’re the only having this discussion. Everyone else knows I can write political dissertations from memory… in my sleep.

If you wish to eventually defend being a Nazi sympathizer (or Nazi), we can get back to your first discussion.

I don’t think your current tactic of creating lies and dealing in strings of fallacies defends your repeated attacks on my sisters or women in general.

And until you defend Dumbshit’s appropriation of exclusively Nazi rhetoric, you have proven nothing, let alone that you can discern crazy from fact.

You seriously can’t own your own decisions… or even pretend to defend them… in your discussion that you started and now have made it all about you?

Not really…you Trumpers are going to snowflake even harder when you have to “do” something instead roll around on the floor and say they cheated/life unfair/transgenders upset the world order. Tariffs = additional costs to consumers, expelling farm and unskilled construction labor = more costs (by the way, who the fuck is going to fill those jobs?) more deficit spending = inflation, and you know what ? When shit goes south it’s going to be fake data or the libs fault.

You’re going to reap what you sow, but I think you might be reaping more than you want…

If we win the next game would everyone want to beat WSU if everything went right for them and it would mean knocking them out of the playoffs? I know it’s unlikely they make it in and that we actually could beat them but I’m curious where other Beavs stand. Ideally we beat Boise and that gets the cougs in but the chances of that happening are practically 0.

Or we know history and easily recognizable phrases from documents and speeches of the past… even with someone as highly obscure as Hitler, who I was constantly told to always forget, growing up.

Love all the downvotes you Trump cowards keep giving me.

Why won’t one of you answer my very simple question?

Why is it okay for Trump to ignore federal law?

I can’t ignore federal law, you can’t ignore federal law, you’d lose your mind if any Democrat refused to sign federally mandated ethics documents. So why is it okay when Trump ignores the law?

You want me to shut up, answer what should be a very simple question.

        • 2
          4

Sonny, he’ll sign the form in time. Don’t get your panties in a bunch.

You can ignore any law you want. It is always your choice.

Might have consequences, but you can ignore any law.

          • 9
            5

The transition has already started and they ain’t signed, the forms were supposed to be signed as soon as he became the candidate.

Try again. Stop making excuses for Dear Leader and maybe treat him like you’d treat any other politician? Because he is.

So again, why do you not care when Trump breaks the law? Why?

Trump shutdown the national economy, you blame Democrats
Trump locks down the country, you blame Democrats
Trump appoints Fauci, you blame Democrats
Trump’s government censors social media, you blame Democrats

Hell, Trump changed the policy to allow transgender prisoners to get free sex changes, the ad that won him the election didn’t even change the date. Thats how certain Trump is you won’t hold him accountable and will always blame Democrats.

            You sense a theme?

          • 2
            2

Hahaha. So no, you can’t hold Donald Trump accountable for anything?

            The transition has started
            The forms ain’t signed
Therefore it is undeniable that Trump is violating federal law.

            And you don’t care.

Those are the facts, zero percent chance you’d let such a thing slide if it were a Democrat.

Do better. But I ain’t the one that needs to mature.

          • 2
            3

He’ll sign the form that by the law he signed,
            https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/394
should have been signed more than a month ago… and parts should have been signed more than two months ago.

But who seriously thinks Dumbshit is good for his own word?

I’m sure he will sign, after all the people whose boots he will lick have given him money, and he can claim that none of the donations he received before he signed the form many months late apply to anything reminding anyone of anything unethical… or anything like whatever ethics are.

    Can’t make this stuff up:

“President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s tapped tech billionaire Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest person, and former Republican presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new “Department of Government Efficiency” that will work to slash federal government spending and waste.

Trump said the commission will “provide advice and guidance from outside of government,” partnering with the White House and Office of Management and Budget “to drive large-scale structural reform” throughout the federal government. He said the team’s work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026.

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies ? Essential to the “Save America” movement,” Trump said in a statement.

During the 2024 campaign, Musk said he would take a job in the administration as leader of a “Department of Government Efficiency” or DOGE, referring to the cryptocurrency he champions. The 53-year-old founder of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla has also said publicly that he could quickly eliminate $2 trillion from the federal budget but has not provided any specifics on how.

Musk has never worked for the federal government before. But his various companies have billions of dollars in government contracts, including with space, military and intelligence agencies. That has prompted concern among watchdog groups that his cost-cutting efforts – and influence on Trump – could create conflicts of interest and lessen oversight of his companies.

This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!” Musk said in a statement distributed by Trump’s transition team.

Ramaswamy, 39, a biotech entrepreneur and the son of Indian immigrants, ran unsuccessfully in the 2024 Republican primary but quickly became a strong ally of Trump. As a candidate, Ramaswamy advocated for the shutdown of federal government agencies including the FBI, Department of Education and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Further complicating matters: The Wall Street Journal reported on Oct. 25 that Musk “has been in regular contact” since late 2022 with a major U.S. adversary – Russian President Vladimir Putin. Musk has not responded to requests for comment from USA TODAY.”

Hmmmm, Why won’t Trump sign ethics papers required by federal law with bootlickers like Musk?

A new “Dept. Of Efficiency,”(sounds like a movie starring Tim Robbins) Musk looking for payback, Sen Tuberville saying our military can’t beat anyone and needs to be built up…gosh, will Musk profit?

And America First? Musk is a citizen of Canada, South Africa, and America….right.

      • All the players leave. Lose to CSU. Struggle against a DII team or whatever. You have to admit it looks remarkably like a Tinkle season arc. More so than in most sports, a big draw for WBB was playing in the PAC.

        • It’s a rebuild year with nobody paying for any players.

Calling the program dead 8 months after an Elite 8 run and a couple games into the next season is some bipolar idiocy.

        • Dead? I’m going to give them more than a couple of games into a complete rebuild year before I’d say dead, or anywhere near it.

We’ve already seen the program dead, ie LaVonda and her drunky crew. SR performed a complete Frankenstein on the program, without the tesla effects or AED, christ, he was pulling volleyball players in to get enough kids on the roster to even make a roster.

That was dead, and SR still made it happen. In Scotty I Trust.

Have you noticed Russia ramping up their war in Ukraine?

Trump might be getting double crossed by his BFF.

What was the promise? He’d stop the war in 24 hours? You gonna hold him to said promise?

So you haven’t noticed Russia is amping up the war in Ukraine?

Or no, you won’t hold Donald Trump accountable when he fails to stop the war in 24 hours?

I mean… other than literally saying words and phrases that are exclusively Nazi, Dumbshit posted in May that the United States could become a “unified Reich” under his direction.

John Kelly told the story of Dumbshit’s love of Hitler:
“He said, ‘Well, but Hitler did some good things.’ I said, ‘Well, what?’ And he said, ‘Well, [Hitler] rebuilt the economy.’”

You can try and defend any of this any time. This is your discussion, after all.

The irony is the biggest parrots on Earth are Trump supporters.

Why do you support Trump violating federal laws? Specifically why is it okay for Trump to violate a law he personally signed as President?

Second question: why do you hate America and worship a know fraud?

Third question: will you hold Trump accountable for the war in Ukraine when he doesn’t stop it in “24 hours”?

            What’s with the constant misogyny?

Did your mother hate you and tell you that often?

I see by your list you have absolutely no clue what misogyny is. So I’m not really expecting a coherent answer. But duderino, the woman-hating is just weird.

          • 2
            4

If you want to know why you are a Nazi sympathizer, it’s because you refuse to have a discussion about it. Your constant deflection says more than you want it to say. Even a condemnation of the ideology would have been something. Tell me you disagree with Dumbshit’s friend, Nick Fuentes.

I mean… if you do, Dumbshit doesn’t care. He’s never inviting you over for dinner.

That reminds me. What’s Dumbshit’s friend Ye up to these days? He has some thoughts on the subject.

You apparently have zero issues repeatedly exhibiting misogyny, so I can’t say you’re deflecting there.

The United States of America found Dumbshit and his corrupt daddy to be racist slumlords in Federal Court in 1973. That topic could take a long time to cover, since the public was really aware of it after the Central Park Five. More like scumlord.

4-6 are all you. I assume since you bring them up, you would rather talk about them, instead of tariffs or that Dumbshit is an abjectly stupid trust fund brat that couldn’t make money running a casino his daddy’s money bought for him.

You know… the topics I have brought up.

I hear there’s a new Epstein tape out there. Strange I only found out about it today. But that looks like some real fun. I hear there are a lot more, too. We can talk about that later.

What in the world do you have against women?

    • 5
      6

Glad you brought Oregon State up!

Are you familiar with an agency known as the Department of Education? Are you familiar with their role in college athletics?

Eliminating the Department of Education is a Trump campaign promise, how that would change college athletics obligations to things like Title IX and even the NCAA’s ability to enforce all the new protections student athletes got beginning in August this year.

So it definitely relates to OSU athletics.

  10. Men’s team dominating western oregon. Predictable but good to see them actually beating teams they should beat and by a good margin. Half our wins last year were overtime dubs. Refreshing to see. Hopefully they can continue this when they start playing tougher teams. Beavs definitely seem strong in the paint but consistent perimeter shooting is lacking.

  11. Some of you have longer time in as Beaver fans than I do, who are some of the “misses” of football hires over the years. Weren’t they almost going to hire John Robinson before he ended up at USC? Rich Brooks? I know they whiffed a few times between Andros and Riley 1.0.

    • 1
      1

Avezzano was so bad, he got Andros fired. You know that is bad, considering he survived Fertig.

The bad part about this is that Andros was 100% going to hire Dennis Erickson next. But the OSU admin wanted nothing of his coaching choices and went with Kragthorpe.

Between then and Riley, just know there are a lot of us who really don’t like Lynn Snyder all that much.

    • Rich Brooks, Terry Donahue, Bobb McKittrick were all options when Andros hired 33 year-old Craig Fertig.

Great quote from Andros on the Avezanno hire: “…he’s a motivating-type guy. He sold me, let’s put it that way. If you want a gut feeling. I think this guy has a chance to be in a class with the great ones.” He did, but only as a ST coach.

Also interesting: Kragthorpe wasn’t OSU’s first choice. Their first choice was Sam Boghosian who thought the job was such a bad situation that he stayed as an OL coach instead of taking it.

It’s interesting reading news articles about Beaver hires over the years. It would have been fascinating to experience the Pettibone hire in today’s media climate: guy with a unique offense who invented the Recruiting Coordinator, successful in a totally different part of the country (taking the program from 2-9 to 9-2). AB would have been in love with the guy.

      • But we weren’t. Even after watching Wilhelm become the best QB between the 20s in the nation, we thought the triple option was going to die at the speed of college football on the West Coast. We weren’t wrong.

I still remember Pettibone holding a pass-punt-kick competition in the quad. The running joke when he got here was that he was hired because he could beat Fresno State. He couldn’t beat UNLV.

  12. 4
    1

I will argue until my dying day that Pettibone’s system could have worked at OSU if he were allowed to see it through. He recognized that we would never win a recruiting battle against UW, UCLA or UO so he went after the option QBs that didn’t have many choices available to them: “If you want to keep playing QB, come to OSU. We run the offense you’re good at.” Brought in Shanklin, Muhammed, Alexander, Moran (R.I.P.; this was a big get at the time), etc. He also did a good job of getting the polynesian linemen because – with no pass blocking necessary – big guys who could push people backwards would do the job well.

Unfortunately, that brand of football is very boring for most people to watch and does not sell tickets. He was encouraged (or forced) to change his offense in 1996 and start throwing the ball more frequently. It didn’t go well and he was canned.

I don’t think we would have become a national power or anything but with the right QB, a salty defense and good luck on the injury side of things, he would have been bowl eligible more often than not a la Georgia Tech under Paul Johnson.

    /rant over

  13. Signing day today for baseball. Neyens signed (doubtful he makes it to campus but fingers crossed), John petrie (6’3″ infield/outfield), Tyler belle bellerose (righthander from Huntington beach). 3 I’ve seen the official baseball account announce

  14. 3
    13

What do people think about the possibility of OSU going down to FCS for football if it was ever an option? Be a big fish in a small pond?

With our resources and former FBS history, I could see us being an FCS powerhouse. It seems like there’s somewhat of a sunk cost fallacy going on regarding the program now though.

  15. Baseball coaches been doing these quick little interviews with past players. Most recent was Jacob Melton. Sounds like he bought a home in Albany and will be spending time at the new hitting facility during the off-season. As a person born and raised in Albany, have to question why he’d buy a place ther3, but that’s just me. Lol. Although, downtown is definitely much nicer now than when I was growing up.

I’d also strongly argue Trump’s campaign promise to eliminate the Department of Education is directly related to OSU athletics,

The fact you want to put your head in the sand and pretend elections don’t affect OSU athletics is a you problem.

Ah, look at you throwing insults because you know you can’t defend the criminal you voted for.

            So cute.

But you’re giving no new info. I already know you hate “libs” so much you decided it was worth voting for a fascist to stop us “libs” from being mean to you and Dear Leader Trump.

The question you refuse to answer, is why do you not care that Trump refuses to sign the ethics law he signed into law as President?

I know you trust Trump because to you he’s dreamy and perfect but I kind of still think laws should be followed. I know, I know, such an old fashioned view of the world.

            9

Zero meltdown. It is cute you think recognizing an obvious reality is “melting down” though,

It’s a simple question: why do you not care that the guy you clearly voted for is violating a federal law he thought was so important he signed into law?

Why? Pretty easy. But you can’t answer because answering means admitting you don’t about the law. Or more likely, you view Trump as “the law”

          • 2
            2

“It is cute you think recognizing an obvious reality is “melting down” though,…”

The funny thing about the radical right is the rejection of objective truth and fact….like they’ve taken a post modernist, liberal approach and they don’t even realize it.

I think Trump is off to a perfect start.

Nominating a Foxnews host whose never ran shit run the US military is genius level stupid and I love it.

Also love how he appointed Musk to solve government efficiency, zero self dealing is likely to happen with that appointment!

But the cream of the crop is appointed Gaetz a man whose own party was about to release what was likely a scathing ethics report about AG. That one just proves how little your boy Trump cares about ethics.

Just to set you straight about the new secretary of defense. Pete Hegseth has an undergraduate degree from Princeton, as well as a Masters degree in public policy from Harvard. He has 2 bronze stars from leading infantry platoons in both Iraq and Afghanistan and he has been a tireless advocate for vets. Like the pick or not, this man is nobody’s fool.

And has he ever led anything of the scale of the Department of Defense?

            I’m rooting for Trump.

I want you guys to get everything you voted for.

Btw, calling someone “obsessed” with having a fascist leader in the greatest liberal republic ever known to man isn’t the insult you think it is.

I own that proudly. But it’s not Trump. I am obsessed with the people that see him as this great leader whom the law shouldn’t apply too.

I’m just sad none of you are willing to explain why you think Trump is so amazing he should be above the law. That confuses me so I’m curious.

I haven’t started a single conversation about your boy Trump.

Does that truly qualify him to be the head of the entire department? Has he ever led an organization even remotely the size of the U.S. Military? It’s the largest logistics operation on Earth.

            4

He’s a talk show host. That’s his job. Nothing you have listed makes him any more qualified than 50 people I know… so long as his stars have a V on them, and aren’t the administrative bullshit people like DeSantis got. That’s probably the case, if he also has his infantry medal.

He’s already playing his little “I’m just joking game” about staying past 2028. But I’m sure you’ll think I’m “melting down” when his courts let him run again. Hell, I bet you’ll vote for his 3rd term. Who cares about the Constitution right? Really just a guideline.

Must suck to have an athletic program that is broke.

Alas, the American public will become unburdened by what has been, with freed up capital going to actual profitable athletic departments that win.

            Survival of the fittest.

    • Just start Pettibone-spamming with me.

Did you know he jumped from OSU HC to Oklahoma AD-in-waiting, only to get backstabbed by the guy that hired him, then sued the university?

      • Pettibone trivia for the day:
Pettibone’s final win in his OSU tenure and his HC career came against his former team, Northern Illinois. It was also his biggest margin of victory at OSU, a 67-28 thrashing reminiscent of the beatdown his NIU team gave then-#25 Fresno State in 1989.

The weird thing is pretending Democrats are “the left” and Republicans are “the right”

        That paradigm is completely wrong.

Democrats are liberals which can be left or right (hence why so many Republicans like Dick Cheney hate Trump)
Republicans are illiberal which can be left or right (hence why so many Leftists like RFK love Trump)

The key difference in 2024 is rather you believe in liberalism (which is what America was founded on) or not. But good luck in Panama.

        • 2
          2

Liberals run from the center to the center right. Reaganomics is simply liberalism–deferring to business to make money, so increased profits provide increased tax revenues for spending. Joe Biden was to the right of Reagan on several issues while Reagan was President. He still is.

Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz coined a new term when they worked for Nixon–neoliberalism. When that didn’t work to the effect they wanted, they added some hegemony in foreign lands and called it neoconservatism.

The Southern Strategy was always there with coded language. It’s now MAGA, and the language is no longer coded. It’s straight up Nazi slogans that nobody but Nazis use or have used.

The political spectrum runs on a line from complete independence in a stateless society (communism/anarchy) to totalitarianism. Fascism isn’t all the way to the right, but it gets close. It’s also good to note there is no economic structure to fascism, besides the partnership between large businesses and the government. So what you think of as associated with other political and economic movements does not apply, when fascism appropriates it (or more likely just its language).

          • 1
            1

Liberalism runs from the extreme right to the extreme left.

Liberalism has nothing to with what policies you want.

Liberalism simply means you support free enterprise, the rule of law, individual liberty, and representative government.

          • Yes, and it’s important that you put free enterprise in there, because they don’t create a free market.

Someone left of center would use government judiciously, more targeted at individuals. Liberalism requires the consent of the governed, but they take that as a mandate to allow big business to govern the market, just as they do for their constituents.

It’s why it’s so inefficient. Someone on the left would say the subsidies tax loopholes, and enabling markets to consolidate are antithetical to a free market. It is the government picking winners and lovers. When the state takes a larger role in governing you now exist in a more rightward existence. Corporatocracy only exists due to government intervention. The more the state controls, the further right we move.

On the left, programs are usually created to simply transfer money to individuals, not corporations. Social Security is the most efficient government department because it simply transfers money to individuals who make their own decisions about how to spend it. Subsidies and tariffs are simply tools that can be utilized for targeted periods, much like what the Fed does with interest rates. Had FDR lived, he would have ended the farming subsidies that still exist today… with no means test. He originally installed them to get farmers through the dust bowl, then to ramp up supply for a world war. But once they’re no longer necessary for national crises like these, government needs to stop meddling in the market.

          • Liberalism is the greatest system of governance ever invented and has led to more wealth for more people than any other system.

If you’re attacking liberalism you’re attacking the American experiment.

What you’re describing is social liberalism. Still liberalism.

Next week is going to be a huge test for Tinkle’s team. Nike #30 in KenPom and North Texas will be in the 50-60 range after beating Minnesota on the road last night. Winning 1 of 2 should be considered a success.

Nike does look beatable. They needed OT to beat Portland (who previously lost to UCSB by 40 at home).

I think WSU really found a gem with Coach Dickert. Every time I see something related to him on social media, i come away more impressed with what i’m seeing. He’s not perfect, but he’s young and learning the job quickly. I really like how he handles his media interactions and is willing to give opinions that other coaches are afraid to voice.

    https://x.com/GregWWoods/status/1856093016945222044

    • Reports that Mateer has a $1 mill+ offering from another school. Dickert wins like a good guy and coach but you gotta wonder how long he’ll want to be in that position. He keeps having winning seasons and a team that can pay a million for a qb will be calling on him.

      • How does WSU seem to consistently attract players that can throw and catch to Pullman, and OSU only inconsistently to Corvallis? I think before Andersen Angry suggested going to the Air Raid at OSU….

        • It was most peculiar. JS was getting many good players but could never land a stellar qb. We thought we had one with DJ but . . . meh

      • Cam Ward certainly had no loyalty to Dickert who brought him to Washington State from Incarnate Word. I recall a blip where Dickert said he had been helping Cam and his family find the right NIL spot for him.

New to your site but I thought I’d give it a shot. Tough year so far for the beavers but I don’t think it’s a big surprise and very similar to 2017. Give Bray and his staff some time to rebuild and they will be competitive again.

Tinkle looks like he might have a decent team while Rueck kind of in a similar spot that Bray is going in.

Baseball appears to be unaffected by all of the BS involved with NIL and portal.

  21. “Air Force is having its worst season since 2013, but the Falcons come into Saturday’s game off a high. Last Saturday, AFA ended a seven-game losing streak with a 36-28 win over Fresno State. The Falcons posted season highs for rushes (80), rushing yards (344), plays (86), first downs (24), third-down conversions (10) and time of possession (45:08). Expect a quick game here, as Air Force and Oregon State prefer to run and are among the country’s leaders in time of possession. OSU offensive coordinator Ryan Gunderson said the average number of possessions in a college game is 13, but against the military schools, it’s eight. That puts a premium each time the Beavers touch the ball. The Falcons are run-heavy, but their numbers have slipped a bit in 2024. At 202.7 rushing yards per game, the Falcons rank No. 22 nationally. AFA has been No. 1 or 2 in the country the past five years. The Falcons haven’t been this low in the national rushing rankings since 1981. In 18 years as head coach, Troy Calhoun has had a 100-yard rusher in 118 games, but only two this season. Last week’s 36-point performance was an outlier, as the Falcons rank 129th nationally in scoring average at 16.2 points a game. The 2024 offense doesn’t have a particular player to key on, as the Falcons have seven players who have season rushing totals ranging from 113 to 276 yards. Two quarterbacks have piloted the Air Force offense this season. John Busha started the first five. He’s run for 172 yards and passed for 415. Quentin Hayes has played in seven games, running for 276 yards and passing for 269. Cade Harris is AFA’s most reliable receiver, with 20 catches for 224 yards. Harris also has 271 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Defensively, Air Force gives up 26.7 points and 356.7 yards per game. The Falcons rank 106th in rushing defense, and 118th in pass efficiency defense. Oregon State struggled in the red zone a week ago in a loss to San Jose State, but Air Force could provide an opportunity to get well, as the Falcons rank 106th nationally in red zone defense. Camby Goff (51 tackles, 2 ½ for loss) and Osaro Aihie (46 tackles) lead Air Force in stops. The Falcons have created only 10 takeaways this season, eight on fumble recoveries. Air Force doesn’t get to the quarterback often, with eight sacks through nine games. Payton Zdroik leads the way with three, plus a team high 5½ tackles for loss.

Air Force has had 42 first-time starters this season, highest among FBS. Oregon State is No. 5 at 18.

Anthony Hankerson has 14 rushing touchdowns this season, tied for seventh in Oregon State history. Hankerson needs 130 rushing yards to crack 1,000 for the season.”

  22. I recently read the Beavs baseball team flipped the #3 recruit in California that was going to UCLA and then flipped a pitcher going to Texas but haven’t been able to find anything on those players. I think they are part of the ’25 class but don’t know for sure

  23. I don’t know how good MBB will be, but Nate Kingz is a smooth-ass player. First Beav in a while who can actually shoot the ball from outside.

Well, Tyson-Paul fight was a dud as Tyson threw many 30 punches and Paul didn’t really hurt Tyson. However, the Taylor-Sarano women’s fight was amazing although the decision was a bad one. I’m glad I didn’t pay to watch the Tyson fight as Tyson is just too old to fight.

    • I saw a video posted several months ago when he was training, hitting hand pads his trainer was holding. Of course it sounds loud and looks impressive. Tyson proclaimed “I’m back!”

Yeah right. You’re 57/58. No one beats Father Time. A regular marijuana habit may not help.

I can’t believe 70,000 (?) people went to a stadium for that. They could have gone to a Dallas bar, insulted a drunk Cowboys fan and saw a fight…

A year ago this week, we were number 11 and came up just short against the national runner up huskies in a torrential rain storm on prime time ABC. How things change. Little did we know, our beloved alumni coach had one foot out the door already, along with half the staff, while we were still in the conference title picture. Would it have made a difference if he wasn’t planning on leaving and was fully locked in? Who knows, but what a heartbreaking terrible loss, especially after being out in the 45 degree rain for 4 hours. Probably one of the, if not the, coldest times of my life. Packed in, not being able to move around while getting drenched. Held the huskies scoreless in the second half, and had a game winning drive set up, but it stalled out. Some people were handing out hand warmers near the student section. Lifesavers.

    • I was there. Reminder photo just popped up on my phone. That was a fun and frustrating game. DJ with a few remarkable runs (or one anyway), Martinez too. 4(?) TOs in a 2-point loss, fielding a punt at the 5 yard line….

Sort of similar in scale and feel to the 4 TOs in a 3-point loss to Caleb Williams/USC at Reser in ’22. Think USC was top 10 at that point in season, and would go on to average 42 points per game for the season.

I though UW looked much sharper and more disciplined in warm ups, and their D played some pretty good coverage.

Stadium was pretty nice, sound system terrible.

  26. 1
    1

We’ve been pretty lucky with PNW weather at home games for the past while. Since my freshman year in 2019, the only other really cold game I can remember besides UW last year when attendance has been allowed was 2022 versus Cal at Reser.

  27. I’m not impressed with record o much – the opponents have won a combined 2 game, but the way they’ve played and controlled the various aspects of play – gives me, a word that starts with h……o…….p…….HOPE? !!!!

    • Well in previous years, they would be 2-2. At this point they have done what they have needed to with the schedule they have. Not a lot of Tinkle coached teams can say that at this point in the season. Usually we are going to overtime with Congested Balls State. Last time they started 4-0 they made the tourney.

    • If we get a night where Minor and Kingz are both on, we can hang with anyone. Minor seems streaky, but he at least gives you a dribble drive threat and strong defense every night.

    • I mentioned it above. Kingz is a smooth-ass player with one of the nicest releases I’ve seen from a Beaver in ages. Lucas made a lot of threes, but his style was herky-jerky, and he forced his shot at times. Kingz waits until he’s open and is ready to shoot.

  28. The defense is so undisciplined. I’m not sure how Bray doesn’t stroke out. The receiver was open by 10 yards. I really don’t know what the fuck Ivey was doing.

  29. What the hell has happened to the “vaunted” o-line? They can’t pass block against Air Force? Also, it’s not like McCoy is a true freshman. He played for a solid FCS team and through more than 500 passes. His regression has to be on the coaching staff to some degree.

    • Maybe he had more than .5 seconds to throw the ball at Idaho. He’s almost getting sacked by the time the snap gets to him. Lol. There’s literally 0 areas of this team that’s even remotely average right now. It’s really, really bad. Honestly, Everett Hayes might be the best player on the team right now since he’s actually made a few fg over the last several weeks.

      • True, but all these announcers make him sound like he’s inexperienced. And this team has no strengths and is so thin. It’s big-time GA vibes and the sad thing is that this is not happening against Power 5 opponents.

  30. I can’t watch the game, I’m just watching the Gamecast, but does it look like our players are even TRYING? Has this team just totally quit on the year? I feel like football players usually have some pride and want to compete, but it sounds like our guys may have totally checked out…

  31. Alrighty then, can’t pass and can’t run….maybe we should just call it a day and go home. This is embarrassing and to think Wsu and Boise State waiting in the wings. 4-8 season looming….

  32. What the fuck is wrong with the secondary? Do they not have coverage assignments or do they think Air Force is going to run 100% of the time?

  33. Down by 14 but it seems like they are down by 30 points. I would say this team has mailed it in. Can we just impose the death penalty on the program.

  34. Whats perhaps the most troubling about this game is that we’re the inferior athletes on the field against a service academy. Every position we’re clearly the inferior athletes. DBs are 5-10 yds behind the receivers. Both the OLine and DLine are being shoved 5 yds back off the ball. I can’t even tell if we have LBs on the field…seems like they’ve recorded 3 tackles all game.

Like, how do you build on this? Usually I’m annoyed at the xfer portal exodus but there’s maybe just 5 guys on this team you don’t want to see go but otherwise, feel free to hit the portal. I guess you have to start both the interior. Need to do whatever the hell you can to find some OL and DL players.

  35. The announcers are sparing no disgust. I asked in an earlier post if Jam had played more than 4 games this season. I haven’t looked it up but if it is only 4, suspect he isn”t hurt but trying to preserve eligibility.

  36. Yeahhhh I’m out if AF scores here. This is pathetic.

At least, in years past, when the team was terrible, we were losing to the likes of USC, UCLA, and other quality programs. At this point, we’re getting rinsed by low level Mountain West teams. Absolutely pathetic.

    • lol… dregs of other conferences are now appropriate comparisons to dregs of the MWC.

We’ve played the best of that conference. The rest are just has beens, and even the team we played isn’t all that great.

Your expectations for college football are outstandingly weird.

  37. I think the Beavs just got their first sack of the year. We suck and suck bad! Smith really killed this program along with the Oregon and Washington dirty last minute deal to kill the PAC.

    • Except that this subject was talked about previously, and anyone who has watched has seen many previously, why would you think that was the first?

Is this the first game you’ve watched?

  38. This is as embarrassing a performance as I have ever seen. Pathetic. Comical. This team couldn’t beat North Dakota State. Thank God I refused all those overtures before the season to come back as a season ticket holder again. I would have wanted my money back. I wouldn’t pay $6 to sit in the last row up top to watch this shit. Quit lying about your fucking “sell out” every game. Those empty seats are people that refuse to watch your garbage product. Awful!

Now I’m going to tell you how I really feel!

  39. If it was me I give Gunderson one more year, if there are no improvements he goes. KH has got to go. His play calling sucks and is not putting the defense in position to do something positive.

    • You all are the whiniest losers ever.

Back in the 80s and 90s we just said, “Well, there’s always next year.”

Now you all just whine like self-entitled little losers bent on showing how much much you can self-flagellate with a wet noodle.

  40. 8
    1

I say again, why does Trent Bray deserve 2 million dollars a year for this crap? Why goes Gundy make nearly a million? Both should be donating 75% of their salary to the NIL fund until they can put together a team that can have a winning record against MW competition.

    • I like Trent; he was agreat player in his day. This deal to hand off the head coach position without really doing a thorough search just doesn’t work, at least not at OSU. I wasn’t excited when Ralph Miller retired and they gave the job to Jimmy thinking he could continue the continuity, which just didn’t happen. A coaching search should have been conducted just to see what interest was out there – maybe Bray still gets the job, but we’ll never know who else may have been interested. If we were going to have a bad season anyway, what would it have hurt to kick some tires? As it is, what’s going on on the field is bringing me back to a long stretch of really bad football.

  41. How the hell does AFA have stronger and better athletes than OSU? It looks like they are going to lose to all the teams that were not invited to the new P-12, correct?

    • I’m glad I don’t have hemorrhoids… or any of the conditions that cause them.

That might lead me to be a future quitter… who then decides to whine like a petty loser once I quit.

  42. The Beavs have 100 total yards against a 2-7 service academy!
Absolutely a disaster for OSU. I don’t know if there is a positive spin for this.
Maybe a bunch of former 2 stars will be convinced they can transfer in and break the 2 deep. The future is pretty bleak.

Tough to convince me that the coaches have a plan or the players to win anymore. Classic LODB for us all.

    • Don’t think DeVan is it. This is our most talented position group. It just took a few games to coach them down. Gundy isn’t helping either with play calling and game planning. The talent and continuity of this team is lacking but today was a clear indication Bray and staff has lost the team. Zero passion, minimal effort, and coaches never put team in position to succeed.

      • 2
        1

I was a little bit skeptical early because weren’t the Colorado transfers part of the problem last year with Shadeur getting sacked left and right? CU’s offensive line is much improved this year.

    • Can’t be worse – Andersen had the luxury of playing in a real conference, no transfer portal, no NIL money. He had all those advantages and sucked big time.

Bray’s gotten 4 wins at least – clearly not going to get any more this year.

        • That’s the part that’s killing me – they get worse every week. How is that possible? Shouldn’t they be in the weight room each week getting bigger, faster, and stronger? The regression is the most frustrating part of this team.

    • lol I guess you’ve screwed up everything else, why try a fg to avoid a shutout? Let’s just try to run for a first down and turn it over on downs. WOW this staff is losing their collective mind at this point.
I wonder if Barnes meets the on the tarmac or the team bus…1970’s and 1980’s here we come. Fertig is feeling better about his tenure after this debacle.

  43. 5
    1

Worse than the Cal game and that one was awful. Piss poor offensive effort. Feel bad for the defense.

Bray is Andersen 2.0 and now we have alums on staff so nobody will get fired.

    • 1
      1

I likely have to agree, the coaching staff is a dumpster.
Week to week performance is appalling. The talent is not inferior to that of Air Force, but the performance definitely is and that’s on the coaches. I vote they all should be fired, but… can OSU afford to do do

  44. 3
    2

I’m now wondering if Smith also left because he knew his recruiting had slipped and a big talent dropoff was coming. Some of these players are Smith recruits right? The talent doesn’t look like Power 4 at any level at this point in the season.

    • It is coaching problem. If the coaching was good they would be getting better, not worse as the season goes on. Gunderson has no idea what he is doing. Bray is in a major pickle now due to the fact that he hired his friends as assistant coaches.

  45. 2
    2

Wayne Tinkle is Oregon States only hope. Huge Civil War coming up. Lose that and no Oregon State sports are worth watching.

  46. If we thought this was ugly, just wait and see what’s coming playing WSU and BSU. I can’t even begin to think about the ugly that’s going to happen. What a difference a year makes. Colorado was horrible last year and now they’re legit while the Beavs look to be legitimately the worst team in the FBS.

    • 2
      1

Hard to fathom that the season is likely going to end on a 7 game losing streak. I was a little concerned after the narrow win against CSU as I was not seeing the huge talent drop-off yet. Hell, the offense even moved up and down the field for a half against the Ducks. The Nevada loss was definitely WTF as I considered them a poor G5 team and it’s gone downhill from there. The regression is striking.

      • The regression in fandom is more striking.

        Bad football is bad football.

Regressive and majorly whiny self-entitled fandom based on some sense of perceived superiority manufactured from who the fuck knows where is the most mind-blowing part of this.

Who the fuck are all these weenie whiny fans?

Good lord! Please leave now and forever, as you are threatening to do.

  47. What is Wazzu doing differently than us to be able to have relatively sustained success as compared to us over this last decade or so? They’re almost an identical program historically, culturally, and athletically to us. What gives? They’ve even had 3 different coaches since 2019. Not to mention, Pullman is an even harder recruiting sell than Corvallis. That place truly is in the middle of nowhere. So, again, what gives?

  48. 2
    1

Trying to figure out if this is worse than the worst of the Pettibone era. Because at least then, there were ZERO expectations. This team has cratered. Seems like a bad locker room as well as an inexperience and lack of skills thing. Similar to what the Beavs hoop team was after the NCAA appearance. The injuries might just be the players don’t want to play, or the coaches don’t want to play them for whatever reason.
An effort like this, from a team with low expectations as it was, points to something really bad.
The entire team could hit the portal at this point, we’d probably be better. It’s not just a QB thing.

  49. If we give this staff one more year, it has to be ONE more year. I love Bray, I want him to succeed, but what coach could do better with the hand he was dealt in 23-24?
I know believe the only way out is the Indiana plan: hire a G5 coach that has talent on their team and bring in the coach and the talent in… particularly a QB.

    • 1
      1

I think Bray deserves one more year, but not the rest of the staff. A leader needs to be able to make difficult decisions and if he doesn’t make some changes with the assistants then I am not sure he is the right man for the job.

      • 6
        3

You know, it’s kinda funny that some considered it a step down to end up in the MW conference – like it was some sort of football purgatory where we would languish for years. We’re not even remotely competitive against some of their mid-tier-bottom teams at this point. Whose to say that WSU doesn’t get poached by another conference? I think we should have made a deal with the MW Conference when we had a chance and tried not to go it alone in the PAC12. We are currently getting exposed here as a very non competitive team, which likely leads to a bleak future. I think somebody on here joked that we would have the best stadium in the Big Sky Conference – maybe they weren’t that far off. This isn’t looking good from a recruiting standpoint to season ticket sales.

  50. Hard to believe that Bray was talking CFB playoff early in the season. Did he really not understand the lack of talent on his team? Is he that bad at talent evaluation?

    • 6
      3

It’s a coaching issue, not a talent issue. This team has the talent to win 7/8, maybe more with some breaks. The regression and lack of progress across the lineup is shocking.

McCoy is a great example. He tore up Cal and Nevada last season. He has the talent to succeed. He’s not being put in the best positions to succeed.

      • 3
        2

16 of those talented players have been injured for multiple games including Jam Griffin. For a program that was already razor thin with depth, those injuries were significant.

  51. 1
    2

Watched about 5 minutes of the game today. 5 minutes toi much.
And to add insult to injury, I saw an add on CBS for DealDash so I decided to check the site out. But to view the side you need to open an account, so I did that to.
I didnt purchase anything and an hour later I receive an email saying I purchased $36 in bid credits.
Anyway, was able to get it refunded, but dont make the same mistake as me. Avoid that shitty site.

    • “But to view the side you need to open an account, so I did that to.”

Why should I honestly read anything beyond this?

How long have you been on the interwebs?

I hear people whining about two-step ID verification, and I can’t welcome it enough.

  52. 12

I have to apologize to Brian Lingren. He’s a revolutionary offensive mind compared to Gundy. Watching paint dry is more exciting than watching a down of this Gundy “offense”. It’s unimaginative. Does he know what a screen pass is? Anything beyond 5 yd crossing patterns? How do we only give 9 carries combined to Allah and Hank? It’s beyond frustrating

  53. 5
    4

Sometimes I wonder if the fix is in. Wisconsin picks up a key first down against Oregon and it’s called back for a chop block that replay shows wasn’t a chop block. I can go weeks without seeing a chop block call. Wisconsin has to punt deep in their own territory and now the Quacks are driving for what is probably going to be the winning touchdown.

    • 5
      3

Of course the fix is in. I no longer doubt I’m watching a form of WWE in college football. There is too much money at stake for it not to be more “entertainment” than competition.
The haves and the have nots are now a new form of globetrotters and Washington generals. The difference is that the refs and some league administrators are the only ones who are aware of the reality of the new paradigm.
Wazzu being ranked so low with 1 los is criminal at this point. Having 9 SEC teams ranked in the top 25 is ridiculous.

The teams to enjoy are Indiana, Boise St, BYU, SMU, Army and Wazzu. All of the others are the accepted “haves”.
I’d love to see all 6 of these teams get in as conference champs or undefeated. Then let all of the big brands whine about not getting in.

    • Has John Mateer entered the portal? If not, how is it that there is talk about millions being offered? – (haha). I wonder if Dickert will leave. He always sounds so passionate about being in Pullman and the culture there, but when?

  54. I’d be more surprised if Mateer doesn’t get 400 yds passing and 100 yds rushing vs our “defense” than if he did. He’s at 267 and 3 tds on 15/17 passing and 36 yds and 1 TD rushing…in the 1st half.

Lobos got a clear home cookin call on a hold with about 8 min left that killed a WSU drive. Cougs had no answer for a running qb though. Seeing Bronco Mendenhall on the sideline had me kind of rethinking the Bray hire tbh.

You are a racist and misogynist troll bent on making a sports blog all about your racism and misogyny.

And if you succeed, the sports blog you want to make into a racist and misogynist site will be know as a racist and misogynist site by all, because it’s what you want.

This is all you now, you pile of vomit.

          • This is all you.

You wanted this, and I told you I would grant all your wishes.

You wanted it to be all about you, and now it is all about you, racist and misogynist troll.

          • If this isn’t you, apologies.

But I am also no holds barred when it comes to someone impersonating me for any reason, let alone to make a joke about racism and misogyny.

This is what happens every damn time someone wants to do this. If there are no rules, I will make sure no rules apply.

Future reference: don’t get between me and the racist and misogynistic troll, because I will see no daylight.

This site isn’t one of my top ten, and it’s become a lot whiny and self-pitying over the past couple years. So maybe the denizens here really just want this constant distraction. We are all subject to the whims of the racist and misogynist troll. Such is life in a world where one can yell fire in a crowded theater.

          • Oh… This didn’t make sense until I realized you forgot to change handles between the racist and misogynist troll and your simple idiot pretend-student troll.

            You should be more careful.

It’s why most of us stick to just one handle… that and no sense of cowardice.

    • Typically, when someone follows with a LOL the comment is intended as being facetious. I’m new here so I didn’t realize some don’t quite get the LOL thing. Why would someone call someone a commie, fascist, socialist, etc, and follow it with a lol if they were serious about the comment. If I was, serious about it, I wouldn’t have ended with the lol. Oh well, I guess some people are just overly sensitive….. My bad.

Don’t worry about it. Jack is incredibly volatile and lashes out at anyone who doesn’t perfectly align with his vague Beaver fan purity test.

        • lol… just wait until NB and angry start looking at their dashboard and see a bunch of hits from anti-semitic watchdogs surging.

And it will all be because I am so obviously having some purity test or whatever the fuck you shitheads are talking to yourselves about with your split personalities.

With all the absolutely stupid shit you’ve said on this site, I have never even thought of appropriating your handle to make fin of racism and misogyny. Never even pretended to think about using your handle to say one word.

          Never.

It is the lowest form of cowardice for a troll, and this site will get to enjoy the results of allowing it.

    • At this point, almost every post Jack makes is either calling someone else a troll, or any other slew of names. Almost no one passes his purity test. Maybe Jack has been the troll all along?

Good morning America, how are you? Hope today is a better day for all OSU fans. Was a rough game to watch and an even rougher blog to read.

I‘ve been on a couple of other fan sites and have never read anything like this site when it goes off the rails.

I am amazed at the hate on this board. Anyway hope today is a better day for us all.

    Go Beavs

    • Had no idea the Ducks won.

      Oh well.

Yesterday was pretty nice. It stayed dry enough to move everything out of the garage then reset it, instead of playing slide puzzle.

  56. Oh, the false narratives are taking more maintenance:

“It’s all unfolding now, week after week like some sick joke. And there’s not a thing the most powerful conference in college sports can do about it.

The SEC is eating itself on the road to the College Football Playoff, a self-destructive stretch that will no doubt finish with the worst possible scenario.

A tiebreaker deciding who plays in the SEC championship game, and the College Football Playoff selection committee deciding which deserving, two-loss SEC teams stay home from the sport’s postseason extravaganza.

If you’re scoring at home, that’s two SEC teams with one conference loss (Texas, Texas A&M), and four with two losses (Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss).

This is the beast they built. And there’s nothing they can do about it now.”

So they align around network viewers and revenue, have NIL and recruiting advantages and free agent benefits over everyone but the big 10, and then bowl games and playoffs MIGHT be decided by records?!? This is professional football. This is what happens. Though I won’t be surprised if the playoff committee decides someone like Indiana doesn’t have the resume and creates room for an SEC team or teams. Wasn’t it just last year an undefeated FSU team did get in because they lost their starting QB at the end of the season?

  57. It is funny to read Jack calling out people with a “multiple personality” shot. And somehow expecting me or us to agree that repeating the same phrase makes his point.
For those who are recently new to the sight, a quick history lesson from the blog:
Jack was a knowledgeable contributor since the early days and had a tendency to take over the thread with bad music references that wouldn’t stop no matter how many commented about the situation. There was conjecture that Jack had a troll roommate who would periodically take over his account and troll all of us and Jack with some outrageous and outlandish statements etc. Nothing was ever confirmed.
Jack’s sports knowledge has been quite advanced and he has had great observations regarding men’s basketball and football over the years.
Somewhere along the way, Jack went silent and didn’t post any longer. Some of us were concerned that Jack had passed onto the blog in the sky. Some wondered if Jack had finally snapped and refused to take his pills any longer.
After quite some time (perhaps a year or two), we had a “Jack” who began posting but without the panache or musical references of the original Jack. Doubts were voiced that the new Jack was not the same as the original and yet after a bit of digging, Angry confirmed this was the original Jack.
I enjoy Jack’s contribution, passion and knowledge. But I know he has always had a tendency to overwhelm the site with a mystifying series of posts, at which time there is no turning him, no matter the amount of responses or engagements made by well meaning and confused fellow angrybeavers.
In Jack’s mind, this is keyboard justice of the first order and we are his minions without the mental capacity to embrace and endure. So naturally, we are the fools lashing out in emotional defensiveness, never him.
Hope this brings a bit of context and aware to the newbies. Welcome and don’t be frightened by ole Jack. He is fine and needs to have his keyboard victories once in a while. Kind of like an old hound dog needs to go on a hunt every so often because his nose was made for it. Jack was made for the blog wars and he is an old blog war dog. Cheers to Jack.

Here’s some terrible music for you:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO9G47mPEtA

It has nothing to do with your mental capacities or what I think. I abide by some rules. I don’t bring up politics or religion. But if anyone does so, their discussions are completely fair game.

The racist and misogynist troll pretending to be me (and others?) is something completely different–something born of laziness and cowardice.

When I see it, all rules are gone. This is a free-for-all, and any confusion from any of you is considered extreme naivete.

The hiatus, btw, was because I was travelling. I got to see the world pre-pandemic and just didn’t have time (or constant web access) to putz around on a sports blog. Shit was boring at the time.

Anyway. FOr anyone who does not know, bring up politics and religion, and the site will be inindated with that discussion. Pretend to be another user (and get caught doing it with no repurcussions) I will show everyone how a steam catapult can be attached to a handle so that anyone can fly off it.

You are right when you state- “In Jack’s mind, this is keyboard justice of the first order and we are his minions without the mental capacity to embrace and endure.” It’s actually spot on. In one of his posts up above he states that – “he controls this board.” Which could mean Jack and Angry are one in the same, which IMHO they are not. He is a narcissist of the highest order, so sure that he is never wrong and that no one is worthy of his own intelligence. Just look at the way he will insult people on here that post some innocent observation about some sports topic. He insults more people here for no reason but yet has no problem showing more hate than literally anyone I have seen on here the years I have been visiting. It’s amazing. I’m sure I will get the nazi treatment for this but oh well. GO BEAVS

      • I fully admit the embrace part. The mental capacity bullshit is wholly bullshit. And I suppose there is an inherent quality of attrition. My extending the narratives of a racist and misogynistic troll who is now allowed to impersonate me is what you all embrace.

As long as you do that, you do that. It has nothing to do with limited mental capacity, so far as I know. I think that lie is just meant to aggravate.

Your less-than-pop psych eval is weak, especially without sourcing. Are you the person impersonating me?

lol… the concern troll about “more hate than literally anyone I have seen on here the years I have been visiting” is simply hilarious in how weak it is. Poor baby gonna cry?

You’re just going to get what you bring.

  58. If it helps, Utah has apparently lost 6 straight without its 25-year old starting QB Cam Rising, playing since ’18…

UW is 6-5 after beating UCLA….

    UCLA is 4-6…

    USC is 5-5….

    Michigan State is 4-6….

Nebraska might not be bowl eligible for an 8th(?) straight year, but still somehow lives off its reputation from the 90’s….

But hey, they’re all making more tv revenue than the Beavers.

  59. What the hell is going on?? It looks like ‘Jack’ is arguing with his alter-ego ‘Jack’? WTF? I’ve come to the realization that Angry must have some sort of AI chat-bot that he activates and this is what happens.

    • Racist and misogynist troll is pretending to be me, and I’m letting everyone know what will constantly happen every time she’s allowed to do so.

If no rules apply, I will abide by no rules.

      Enjoy.

You appear to be having a mental breakdown or something, or you’ve been hacked. You’re just repeating the same insults and accusations towards anyone who replies to you. You’re just going after almost every single person who posts at this point.

        • Shut the fuck up, loser.

Nobody needs your Bazooka Joe philosophical bullshit right now.

Either denounce people using others’ handles to make jokes about racism and misogyny, or go away.
