    • Actually, could be 24-17 OSU. They don’t screw up clock management, who knows, maybe Romaine actually makes a FG. He’s “turrible” right now though.

  1. The poor clock management and failure to strategically use timeouts is inexcusable at this level.

Can Mannion call timeouts? Or will he catch hell and the bench? I bet as a coach’s son, he’d be better at it.

  2. Perfect setup for an upset. Stanford played USC last week, and the ‘ucks next. On top of that the Beavs have looked like shit for most of the year. Playing the Beavs is time to let down.

  3. They must also be from warm-weather places.

Also, Mannion had time on that 3rd and 7, and just didn’t find anyone in time. Brutal. A second huge missed opportunity.

But these refs have just killed multiple drives for us, so…this is going to be tough.

  4. Worst officiated conference in America.

I mean, I like that the Beavs got a call for once, but that Stanford player did not call a fair catch.

  5. Beavers now with two potential touchdowns wiped off the board thanks to atrocious officiating and now Stanford is up double digits again.

  6. To me, 1st and 10 there seemed like the perfect time for a draw. Stanford was showing blitz/expecting the pass. Draw or screen. Jeez. 3 pass plays, 2 sacks, a fumble…great job, Langsdork.

  7. You don’t have to do the fake handoff every time Mannion, especially if you don’t have time to recover before pressure and getting off a decent throw. I’m sure he was coached that.

  8. This game is going to end something like 40-13. Stanford is in rhythm, our line is horrid and playing like it.

Blame Mannion for getting sacked on 3rd and long, when we’ve been in 3rd and long all game because of bad line play.

  9. And Mannion fakes the handoff every time because, in a pro-style offense, 50% of the passes are play action. It is how the play is run. Not his call.

We had a chance, and now we lost it.

  10. Horrible O-Line play should mean a lot of quick slants in the offense. There are zero in the offense. With Stanford coming after the QB you gotta have a slant. You have a slant and it’s a easy first down.

  11. It’s time to run Riley out of town like San Diego did. If anyone else likes him they can have him. I’ve had more than enough.

  12. Anyone else feel like Riley has no IDEA what just happened? He’s like “We were down 4, now we’re down 18, and I don’t know why.”

That is a coach that cannot move this team any further.

  13. Anyone else annoyed that Riley let the 3rd quarter clock expire?

I am. I added it to my Fire Mike Riley thread. That was terrible clock management. No urgency, no idea of the value of time.

    • I’ve been bitching about that for two years.

It’s part of the slump shouldered wandering back to the huddle lollygagging Riley offensive persona.

Maybe I played too much baseball when I was developing but I CAN’T FUCKING STAND a lack of “hustle”.

  14. just as I told my brother on Wednesday, Beavs close until the second half then they blow us out. MR almost looks bored on the sidelines when they show him. The officiating isnt helping anyone. We dont have enough weapons to come back from this. Game over.

  15. WTF is up with Wheaton! Time to throw it to someone else and I don’t mean JR. Imo OSU is using him too much thus risking further knee injury.

  16. This game is over, and it’s incredibly demoralizing.

We were in it, until our coaches went back to the horrible, predictable gameplan, terrible game management, and our line played like crap again. Then it was over.

Brutal. Fire them all and start over. If you cannot produce, you should be replaced.

  17. I know it sounds dumb to keep blaming the refs, but I’m seriously just so pissed about this game. We are obviously out manned by Stanford and it’s just brutal when the refs kill every chance the underdog gets to get some momentum. So frustrating.

  18. I dont even get frustrated or anxious or angry watching our games anymore, I just chuckle and shake my head at just how much it feels like the 80’s all over again.

The sad thing is that we will improve as our kids get older and more experienced, and that will keep people happy and MR will look validated and we will ultimately fall short of anything more than a middle of the pac team. It makes me sad. It was only a few years ago I still had at least a shred of hope. Thats gone now.

  19. I could see just an average of 35K fans next year. Many people are about to say enough is enough. BDC handled this very poorly and Riley is responsible for winning and has lost 18 of his last 20 now I think. Close to .100 since James got hurt last year. That and Sac St is more than enough to move on. Since BDC made it hard he also should be replaced. It’s called an executive decision and if BDC won’t make it then President Ray should before the fans demand a complete admin sweep like they did at USC. 4000 by 2012 is possible for De Carolis grand plan. Right now it is about 5500 and dwindling.

      • But to be fair, Casey once said that he didn’t know if he could get it done in Corvallis. Maybe Pat should have a sit down with Mike

          • Yes, I completely agree. I don’t buy the Corvallis is difficult to recruit to argument but everybody talks about it but to be successful you have to get beyond that and when the media mentions it the coaches ought to call it a bullshit statement and use it to mention something good about the program or Corvallis instead of letting the statement stand.

      • Does not hurt, but they have been brilliant in marketing themselves and creating a unique identity.
Belletti should pick our next coach, he does have an eye for talent.

      • But if everyone else pays too, then that doesn’t separate UO from the other powerhouses.

Players choose to go to rainy, cold Eugene, just like they could choose to go to rainy, cold Corvallis.

Maybe if we had a fun, innovative offense and young, relatable recruiters, we would get those players.

Really though, Pat Casey is proof that you can recruit to Corvallis if you’re good. But our staff is not. Don’t blame location, look in the mirror.

  20. Clapping again in the Valley Football Center. Doesn’t matter if we start losing every game. The bluebeards who are fine with losing week after week tells me there is no hope for this program under Riley and his coordinators and their stuck in their ways approach. Only way we are going to win is with a bold hire to rebuild the culture from the ground up. Hopefully somebody bold who will shake up the septegarian old folk who don’t mind the losing culture or how long it remains.

    • Just would like to throw out Kevin Sumlin. He could do some serious damage with this offense. I think the O-Line will be better, Beavers have speed and weapons at WR. I think it would be a perfect fit that would get people excited about the program. I feel he will have an undefeated regular season. He’s my favorite head coach, I just love the way he coaches. He isn’t a real screamer but is terrific with preparation on offense. He would bring an absolutely phenomenal offense.

Mike Leach would probably be interested in the job. Both are FAR superior options to Riley.
