I’m changing my pick to 31-30, Cougs. Just have a bad feeling about the game that isn’t going away. If they win, it will be a pleasant surprise. I’m thinking loss this week, win next week vs Cal. Then we reassess the back end of the schedule.
I’m actually having the opposite feeling this week and feel like its going the Beavs way. Which probably means it won’t. Go Beavs!

i totally get what you mean, but if they pulled W’s out of their asses against Utah and SDSU then at least in theory they should be able to score enough to beat the cougars. I’m hoping for around 45 or so.
I think we will learn a lot about the Beavers in the next 3 weeks. Utah may be better than we thought, because they had fallen to lowly OSU. Utah is looking pretty good against Stanford. UW looks beatable. We will see.
More than a half hour later and Utah still lookin’ good, lead Tree with the ball and less than 2 min left in 1st half.

Also feel this game could swing either way in the 4th quarter. Should be very entertaining. I think Mannion, Cooks and Mullaney can make a key drive down the stretch and the Beaver D holds on in a wild finish as we try to hold on in the waning moments.

Utah beat Stanford
Hogan isn’t that great a QB, so this isn’t too surprising. Stanford has been ranked high all year; should have been in the 20s.
Did it look like the Utah D put more pressure on Hogan than they were able to put on Mannion? Might indicate the Beavs O-line, even when patchwork, is pretty decent.
Mariota is going to win the Heisman. Damn, he now has 17TDs and 0 Ints and 12 yards per rush.
I don’t feel good or bad about this game. It will feel like a let down if the Beavs lose. I think this is more of a trap game for WSU than OSU. Coming off a record setting performance and a big road win, plus OSU being perceived as a very winnable game.
I think the TEs will have a big game, especially on 3rd down.

Marriota cannot win New York based award. Who cares about individual awards anyway. Beavers will win tonight but total score will be less than everyone predicts. Picks will make the difference.
Nike effect might balance out the east coast bias, I think it is possible IF Marriota stays healthy.

This early schedule has allowed us to grow accustomed to winning in a certain fashion. Regardless of our faults, we’ll have at least one upset win during the back end of our schedule.

Acknowledging no football expertise – I’ve frequently wondered (in the games I’ve watched) about Storm Woods as a running back. He never seems to get very far.
We saw something we’ve never seen in a stadium before last night. When the Beavs went up by 14 early in the 4th quarter the coug fans started hitting the exits in droves. I mean big time! We’re all like wtf, seriously?
After the game we started asking around to any coug fans that would talk to us, they said it’s as Leach pointed out when he first arrived, it’s a school culture thing that needs to change. They said they’ve seen it a million times and that the cougs NEVER come back from a 4th qtr deficit. It was getting late and cold and these farmers have chores to do early in the morning so fuck ’em, they early.
How did this school get to the rose bowl twice in recent memory?
