No official word about this, but I have heard Howland isn’t the coach due to money.

Just want to make an observation about Bob D: He reminds me of the friend we all seem to have who at 40 or 50 and bringing in six figures, is still asking everyone in the car for gas money when he drives up to Portland. From here on out I declare Bob D “Gas Money Guy”. Let’s see if this sticks like Lucy and the football, Ranker, Biley, and all the other great AB slogans/nicknames/observations.

By the way, if you’re asking for gas money after high school your friends hate you–consider this a public service announcement.

I’ve been away for a few days, and I come home to hear DS is the leading candidate to be the new coach?

This sounds a lot like the CR hire…a smooth talker who can (probably) recruit, but not proven as a coach or a guy who can run a program.

I mean, it is intriguing (so was CR), but the Beavs need a proven coach.

I’d rather see David Grace, even with his CR associations, over DS. This just sounds too familiar.

The site is set to expire in about a month. Hosting fees are up big this year (no, there is no inflation, Mrs. Chairman!). My host says I might be able to sign a multi-year deal that lowers the rate and get a year added to the contract for every mediocre post I make.

Anyway, to make things fun this year, I decided this year to give back to donors, Bob DeCarolis style. So the highest donor will receive this beautiful Oregon State mug. That’s right, your own brand new Oregon State mug! If you’re lucky I will pack it in popcorn.
