Craig Robinson Replacements

127

Great day to be a Beaver! Bob D grows a sack and does what needed doing. See, who says we aren’t positive?

Now on to the hard part. Hiring the right replacement.

Names being thrown around. In order I find desirable and plausible.

Ben Howland
Randy Bennett
Saul Phillips
Seth Greenberg
Russel Turner
AC Green
Damon Stoudamire
Leon Rice

My instincts say it will be Ben Howland. Reason being Bob D would only fire CR if he knew he could make it up in attendance figures, and of all the names being thrown around Howland (and maybe Randy Bennet) is the only one who would fill the seats. CR and cash for Howland would be a good trade on paper, so I’m all for it if that’s where this is headed. OSU needs a legit coach…a Dennis Erickson type who can turn the program around fast. Howland feels like that guy. Right place, time, and fit, so I think that’s the hire. Well see within a week or so.

Thanks for the practice facility, CR, and good luck scamming Joe Sixpack out of his 401k at your next job.

Rumor someone just emailed me.

Anyone with more details?

Knowing Bob D he’s locking him up for life.

Spring Showcase Notes

From “Bill”, AB commenter. Any else take notes?

Here are my takeaways from the spring showcase(definitely not a game)

1. Del Rio is the future. He got more looks than any of the other QBs. Looks the part.
2. Jarmon could be ready to make an impact this year. Looked good.
3. Running game is still a work in progress. Very dependent on the health of the o-line.
4. Boom looked good in the pass rush. His long arms help him keep the OL from locking him up. Should only see the field in passing situations only. Too light to be in run situations. My guess is that he’ll look good in non-conf but then struggle in conf games.
5. Dline looks good. Athletic and no holes in the middle.
6. Steven Nelson should have a standout year. Whoever the other CB is, is going to see a lot of action.
7. Defense looked good.

Interesting points made by the commentary crew about the state of offenses. They were saying that most offenses in college football are pure progression, meaning the QB just goes through his reads, regardless of the defense. OSU does the pro style, adjusts to the look of the defense

Idiotic Comment of the Day

In response to my: “The real fans get another kick in the nuts season”

This birdbrain replies:

LOL…are you seriously calling yourself a “real” fan? Bwhahahahahahahahaahahahahaha

You’re about as far from a “real” fan as it gets bud! –BeavInEugene

Isn’t it incredible that six years into this blog people still mistake criticism (and desire for improvement) with hatred?

Yes, Birdbrain, I am not a fan. I just spend personal resources (both time and money) to run this site because I have nothing better to do. No Birdbrain, it is all just a big conspiracy to ruin Oregon State. I’m a Duck with a ten year plan! Now go back inside the earth, bunker-dweller.
