Post “Pac12” era begins

Starting a new thread since the last one was pretty much dead.

Now that the 2024 athletics season has all but officially ended, it’s just a matter of weeks(August 2nd) till the 10 teams officially leave the Pac12 and OSU/WSU are the sole representatives of the conference.

Summer is just about here. Will be interesting to see what the baseball roster looks like once the portal closes.

According to this 247 link, there are already close to 4000 baseball players in the portal.

Players that do enter, risk not getting picked up.

Outside of athletics, I’d be curious to hear if anybody has any interesting summer plans?

Vacations, outdoor projects, etc…

Seems worthy of a new thread.  Beavs will need to score some runs vs a hot Tulane team that averaged 10+ runs in the AAC tournament.

Too bad the games are only carried by ESPN.  If anybody comes across some Youtube streams, please post them below and I can add them to this post.

Go Beavs

Why even care anymore? 2.0

Some cool stuff happening like getting a basketball guy from the MAC, our baseball team losing, portal transfers, etc.

At least we have a thread that will load faster. As Beav fans these days, we have to appreciate minor victories.

Why even care anymore?

Baseball is down to #5, the WBB team is falling apart, Spring Football is about to start up again.
Are you done caring? Has the almighty dollar ruined it for ya?

Let’s consider the reasons folks take an interest in Beaver athletics and college sports in general; is it because:
1-it’s YOUR school, darn it!
2-you like watching payers develop both as people and as athletes
3-coaches are fun to second guess
4-some tax money is involved
5-you like the uniforms
6-it’s a social thing; tailgating, drinking, trash talking opponents
7-you’re tired of the drama and $ which IS pro sports
8-sports betting has more appeal than the lottery
9-?

Are those things gone for you?…….talk it over, or go general, after all the last thread is nearly up to 1,000.
Still………..GO BEAVS!  ***********I think?

Spring FB, WBB post season, and more chances for Baseball to grow

Plenty to discuss with news sure to come for 3 of the Beavs major athletic teams:

1) Baseball faces Mark Banker’s old school, Cal State Northridge, for a 4 game matchup at Goss starting Thursday. Looks to be a better test than the Bisons (maybe better weather, too).

2) WBB gets the first round bye and the return of Bat Woman…err Raegan. Get past Colorado or Oregon on Thursday and likely face Stanford in the semi Friday. What’s it gonna take to end up in the Portland regional for the big dance?

3) FOOTBALL is back. What will we learn about this team, about Bray’s approach, about the style of Heyward and DeVan? Which coach has the biggest challenge this time around? Why?

Always a great time to be a Beav!
