Leach now prohected to take Wazzu to the Rose Bowl and Petersen take UW to the Playoff.
Andersen still only has one Pac-12 win as second season draws nearer to its end. Gotta turn this around. All the other programs in the NW are getting their big moment except OSU. Stanford and Oregon have had plenty as well.
Change the culture and win games like the rest of the schools around us have all done. Win football games GA!!
Being in your recruits, JC Transfers, whatever, but get it done. Everyone else is. If Leach or whoever could have gotten OSU there I would support them.
Oregon State is single biggest drought that now needs to end with the Cubbies getting their Series.
The read was Bolden vs Nall. Not a stupid play. Bolden would’ve gotten a couple yards. But if he can’t make that read either then yes stupid play call. But also explains why he didn’t start. THIS offer several requires a qb to be able to make that read as much as throw a pretty ball.
So you can leave a guy unblocked or so you can come back to that play later and run the sweep. Lots of reasons, depends on what you saw on tape from Stanford or what you are setting up for later.
Eh, I disagree. The option is already a slow developing play. Slowing that down with a fake that isn’t actually an option is an awful decision when you leave the closest guy to the mesh point unblocked. I don’t care what the film shows.
Angry wiuld have as many Pac-12 wins as GA at this point. Wilcox likely would have more and he ain’t great. Frost would probably have at least 3 conference wins at this point.
Tinkle would most likely have more Pac-12 wins than GA to this point. Yo Mamma might even have 1 win. No one in a billion galaxies would be doing any worse than 1 less Pac-12 win than GA.
Goe was correct. OSU may need to make the decision to reboot the hire at end of this season or next if W’s dont start showing up in the win column. This is a mess and a GA era a failure so far.
Saw Texas has some interest in Harsin from message board fans. They ate expected to get Houston’s Coach Tom Herman. Harsin is available now. Time to go out & get him.
Unfortunately it seems like McM has a little bit of Bolden syndrome. Brilliant pass bracketed by 2-3 inccurate or poor passes. Gotta take the good with the bad…
You guys need to give up on this narrative. Complaining about a few incompletions early in the game and not running an option are weak. It’s very possible he’s been asked not to run the option in order to stay healthy, or he’s more a pro style QB and simply doesn’t do it. Coaches shouldn’t call it, then.
I haven’t been piling on regarding option plays for the reasons you mention. I’m just talking about passing. Accuracy has been very erratic with a mix of great passes and terrible passes. Though the bad passes haven’t generally been dangerous, so that’s a plus.
I think the Bolden comparison is pretty good. Probably still the best QB on the roster but you’ve got to accept the bad to go with the good.
That’s what they’re saying. If he’s been asked not to run, don’t waste your time running an option that isn’t an option. It’s like Riley always running play action on 3rd and long.
I think the influx of offensive talent is coming in next recruiting cycle. Mcm hasn’t done anything but one throw other than that has hampered the offense. Good throw on the one tho.
D has played well so far, nice to see the TD but now the D is back on the field.
Always felt if Beavs could be within 7 at the half that the return of Bright in the second half would keep it close. We’ll see.
I think you listed them in proper order right there.
Give U-W a break. He’s a frosh who is in his second (?) game with significant minutes. I like that he’s getting to the QB with instinct and good fundamentals. I view the whiffs (not flails… flails are done by backers who are out of position from the start and want to make a show for the tape so they don’t get chewed out or think they can say they were trying or whatever) the same as I do some of the targeting hits we’ve had from the youngsters. They’re intuitive and athletic enough to get there in the first place. But they forget to finish with the same focus, they just screw the pooch.
At least most of U-W’s whiffs ended in TFLs for others.
I just texted the same thing to my dad. Similar issues in previous games. We’re getting there…we’re just not getting it done. Feel like this team is really close to a breakthrough, esp on D.
This is so Beavers – Nall doesn’t even try for the first, a terrible short punt, and then a huge long gain right before the half to put us away. Three plays in a row that will essentially seal the game.
Seriously. Now they reset the game clock? What about the 8 seconds that ticked of when we had the ball with 42sec remaining and a first down and worthless review.
I kinda like that GA never falls back on that excuse; hope he is holding fire for when a very egregious one that matters is called. At that point I hope he explodes!
For what it’s worth. I did see GA complaining directly about the clock in that situation to the refs. Luckily they fixed their deficiencies in time to help Stanford get a shot at the end zone.
Pleased with the defense aside from that long TD by Stanford. Will get a boost with Bright back in the second half. Need to run it down their throats. At least call plays that don’t rely on the QB being a run threat. Stanford isn’t buying it.
I’m tired of Seth running sideways and losing yardage instead of just diving forward and getting what he can. Someone needs to slap him in the locker room.
Anyone else frustrated with another announcing team acting like the Beavs don’t exist? They hold Turd to a fucking FG after they have first and goal from the six with the best running back in the nation and these numbnuts don’t even mention it!!!!
They also obsess over that option play where they chastise Nall for not jumping three yards in the air??? Probably not doable, but did any of those dumb-fucks talk about Nall coming off of a recent ankle injury?
It’s going to take longer than I thought for the Beavs to get any respect. What’s GA’s rep? Is he considered an asshole with the media? Maybe they are comparing him to smilin’ Mike.
Our defense should be able to give great new looks and adjustments with Bright coming on in 2nd half. So can Beaver offense make good adjustments for 2nd half as well?
Exactly. Then you could have power slid a locomotive thru the hole directly in front of McM so he holds the ball and makes a shit pass for a pick. He could have moon walked across the 1st down marker.
Horrible play call there, with the empty backfield making it obvious we were going to throw (on 3rd and 2? Seriously?).
Also, I’m sure the coaches told McMaryion not to run because they’re afraid of injury, but he NEEDED to run there. Certainly better than throwing an interception.
Yeah because Garretson and Blount were so much better. Dude threw for 327 yards, 2TD and 0INT vs Washington State. The other guys couldn’t sniff his jock. You’re clearly just mad because I said he’s the best QB and was correct. Get over it, sir butthurt.
McM hasn’t play a great game, but it’s better than the other guys. Needs more reps/6 games.
They’re clearly trying to stir shit up. Probably some venting/frustration.
His stats are better than the other two QBs and with low reps. He’s been better than the Stanford QB, too. The stanford QB has Garretston-esque numbers (10/16 for 60 yards lolol).
The coaching staff bullies McM. The guy should transfer and dominate somewhere else where people believe in him, because he can throw a nice ball. Not D1 is hilarious and shows no ability to scout QBs (just like GA)
He definitely has the best arm and prettiest ball. But his decision making is poor. Lots of bad passes in traffic, general unwillingness to run. It limits his game. The other two guys aren’t necessarily better. Just saying that I can see why he is low on the depth chart.
I haven’t stirred any shit up yet, but I have to ask: have you been using those excuses for every other QB that’s played at Oregon State the past couple of seasons?
Yep, said we had to give Collins 6 games before knowing what he is. It’s over and over in print.
Even when I saw game 1 he was a disaster, still felt he needed half a season to be totally sure.
With all the backs we’re going to have next year… and the need for another stud in the middle of the D… I wonder if he would enjoy chasing QBs for a living.
You guys think he’s an NFL talent at RB? I’m not convinced- still see him as a tweener. Good enough to dominate college but not quick enough for the NFL level.
Yes, RB for sure. Could probably play LB as well, but he’s the fastest RB on the field most weeks in college and has goal line ability/power, so why not?
Obviously Stanford is going to score here when you kick the ball to the 15 yard line. Not only that, but right to McCaffrey both times. So unimpressed with the kicking game and decisions all season. e.g. that punt fake, fgs, etc.
It was interesting though that they played really well for a few plays after GA got them all together and bitched them out. The mental aspects of football are often overlooked.
Facing the #28 defense in the Nation, 10/19 for 137 and a great TD pass. 2Ints. One his fault, the other up for debate (could have put more touch on it, but tips aren’t necessarily the QBs fault). A rushing TD. A beautiful 2 point pass.
I’d call that a C+ or B- game thus far. Still time to improve it.
Not a good comparison as Garretson is a great option runner. Garretson vs McM running option with zero runs is a wash imo.
McM is clearly a superior passer and 5-10 runs per game to keep the defense honest will make him much more effective. His accuracy is erratic- some great throws, some awful throws.
Overall needs to run some. Hard to argue he’s not the best QB on the roster but still not a great QB.
The telecasters pointed out the biggest problem. Footwork…
The drop back is awkward and feet lock, which basically causes him to lock into one area of the field. It needs to be fixed, but if that is fixed he could improve a lot.
Garretson was a shit runner all year except the Cal game, btw.
Seriously, is the consensus that the McM has not ran when it was open because of coaching? I am not aware of anyone saying McM could not, just would not or was not allowed to?
Total yards allowed less than 430, allowed only 16pts for 6 trips by tree to the red zone. I’m satisfied with a D that had to be on the field 2/3 of the game.
Against Love and McCaffrey, two of the best backs in the nation? Sucks, but hard to get too mad at.
I’m more mad that we can’t get anything consistent going on Offense. Yes, it’s the 38th best pass defense in the nation, but being unable to run it hurts.
Angry, I don’t understand why you think McM has done anything good today. He has thrown one good ball all day. OSU has given up so many yards because the defense is on the field all the time.
Stanford 37minutes time of poss. and OSU 20. OSU has 8 total first downs. If it were not for a 75 yd pass and a 54 yd run we would have no offense at all. McM may be the best we have but to say he has played B or even C is stretching it.
I agree with you cuz I see potential as well. But he needs to pick it up eventually. But to say he played a B- or even a C game today needs better production than what he did. Sad thing is, he is all we have.
Actually I said a C+ or B- game up until that point. After that he rushed for a TD but didn’t do much else in the air (a few drops again). Probably C or C- overall. One of the INTs was a tip that I feel iffy about. More touch and it would have hit Villy in the hands and he’d drop it, which is better than the INT. He has to make that pass with touch. I don’t know. I see the flaws for sure but think that they aren’t flaws that can’t be coached out of him. The problem is these coaches don’t seem dedicated to his best interest or coaching him up. It sounds like he studies film on his own and gets the short end. It’s not fair to the guy. TBH I hope he transfers and gets a staff who believes in him. If I had his ability I’d do that instead of playing for coaches (and fans) who didn’t.
What is strange is how much people believed in StS when he was an obvious dud. The charisma and speed lured everyone in. The lure or potential, etc. That guy got all the coaching and attention one could ask for, yet was still the worst QB on the roster. That GA and crew played him says a lot.
I personally think a running QB is overrated. A mobile QB (ala Jake Plummer) who can dodge the rush and move when necessary is all you need, and then he has to be a fine passer. That’s the winning formula. People here used to bash the Duck’s QBs as gimmicky, and now many of the same people want that type of guy. I’ll tell you what: those Duck QBs were all pretty good passers first and foremost. Marriota the most obvious, but all of them were good passers.
I’d give him a C for the first half. I had a nice post put together talking about how he wasn’t reading plays correctly, and it was killing him in the way Stanford was able to take away everything underneath by loading the box. But he had the one strike, and he now had six turnover free quarters. And if he could continue that pattern we would have a shot with one or two more big plays.
And then he threw a pick.
But he started to finally run. I wonder if a coach told him to goddamn run the fucking ball on the next play, or he would be sitting on the bench. He started to finally get it moving down the field once he started doing that. So even with the two picks and the poor passing and clock management in the second half, I give him a D+ because he started to open the offense up the way he was supposed to do it all along.
We were getting on SC about the precise opposite thing last year. And because he doesn’t pass as well as any of our other QBs, it killed the O. When you run an option you have to make the D respect all options, or you’re just wasting time doing extra dance moves in the backfield.
And it’s not that we need him to get chunk yardage on these plays. Cut it up the middle and slide for five yards, or run out of bounds for the same. But don’t go headlong for an extra yard unless the game is on the line. I see where you’re going with Plummer. But Andy Dalton is the college tape MM needs to watch.
And I don’t get why most everyone is black or white on this. We know who MM is because we’ve seen him play and get better. The expectations shouldn’t be anything more than a C from him. I know that sucks if we’re going up against a good run D. But it is what it is. There are other reasons we lost today besides two turnovers. Hinky ST play… a D that refused to tackle for losses for a time… generally giving the refs no reason to call anything our way…. All these things need to be addressed.
Let’s do something original and look at the actual data. Stanford has the 38th ranked passing D. McM today 10-21 137 1TD 2 INT. Rushing 2-12 1 TD. yep looks like B- C+ to me.
That might be true, but I want to see 6 games from McM, just like StS and Garretson got.
McM has played tougher competition with fewer reps, so I’m not ready to mail it in on him.
Considering how young and depleted our team is, I’m impressed with how they keep fighting. Have not seen this type of fight and grittiness in a Beaver team in a while.
I agree, easy loss to stomach there and no regression (though not much progression either).
Almost 400 rushing yards is atrocious, and if Stanford had a QB that game would have been in the 40s or 50s…
Sorry angry but if you can’t see the flaws in McM’s game you are willfully blind.
He is definitely the best option on this team currently but he isn’t a good PAC QB and he is a huge part of the problem. Yards be damned, points are what matter and this was winnable with a QB that doesn’t make terrible passing decisions and will run when it is there.
I don’t ur everything on his shoulders but this was not a good performance
Stanford had a tougher D. So, jury is out. By the Civil War I’ll give my final scouting report on McM. Right now I see potential. Bad footwork is killing him.
You dopes went through this last year with StS as well. All loved him b/c he could run, when clearly he was a stinkaroo. McM is below average right now, yet he shows promise passing. That’s why you stick with him and work him hard on footwork and reads. If the coaches had sense they’d do that. It’s not rocket science. Open your eyes and be objective instead of a butthurt dork.
McM threw for 327 and 2TDs for WSU. Everyone forget that already? He ran today and even ran for a TD. No progress there?
Relax. You sound like you’re the butt hurt one with all of your name-calling. You even dropped McM a full grade after actually thinking about his performance today. Maybe McM is an awesome QB who just had an off day today?
I dropped him a grade because the game continued on and he didn’t perform well in that last 10 minutes. When I graded him it was up until that point, as written above. He could have gone up or down at that point, and he went down.
And I get that part of it… But I am seeing why the coaches have been hesitant… His consistency needs to improve, that’s his biggest weakness from what I see… That’s the probably the reason he dropped to third string… I just didn’t like how you automatically assumed it was the coaches playing favorites… I think GA has shown he wants to win, quit with that narrative that he will put lesser players out there, I just don’t buy it… We all want this team to get better and I see them moving in a positive direction
Because the other QBs aren’t consistent and throw worse.
There should be an explanation for it, but the media is afraid to ask/press for the answer. McGiven talks about the guy with disdain, which makes it seem like favoritism, or McGiven doesn’t want to look bad by having a 3rd stringer play the best. At that point he’d have explaining to do to GA. There is so much to criticize about the other QBs and StS last year, yet the coaches didn’t, yet they have no problem piling on McM. It’s VERY weird.
Again it’s this narrative your pushing… I guess it’s a pride issue… Did you ever consider that maybe the team has gotten better overall and that helps McMaryion and yet he’s still struggling?… Put him in week one and I guarantee he doesn’t play the next week… I am tired of your conspiracy theories, it gets old… Then you go off on anyone disagrees with you, while you blindly support a third string QB as the second coming of Terry Baker… But I already know what’s coming… Tell me how much I am an idiot and you know infinitely more than I ever will
Many 3rd string QBs go on to the NFL. Depth charts can be anywhere from correct, arbitrary, to political/favoritism. Jordan got cut from his HS team because of politics. If you don’t realize that’s part of the game then yes, you’re an idiot.
Very limited potential at most. Progression for him has come slowly. Quarterback position has remained a C- at best this year when last year wasn’t much worse. Passing just a tad worse but running from QB spot better last year so at most we have gained in inches & are still very ineffective at QB. GA saying he has studied the Air Beav doesn’t instill much confidence but don’t think it could be much worse. He may think he needs that to attract a better QB but seems like it would be Oregon State like to not have it turn out near as well as some of which Cal & WSU have seen.
Just like I expected I am the idiot lol… I never once said politics are not part of the game… And I wasn’t talking about Jordan and a HS team… I am taking about the QB situation this year, right now… the fact that you believe that a coach is playing subpar players purposely during a rebuild when wins are at a premium, shows how narrow you look at things… All and in all we are playing the QB that you want and are still losing and you are struggling to find anyway to justify your delusions… Not even trying to personally attack you because I have followed your blog for along time and respect most of things you say… You just make it impossible sometimes
We have two co-OCs: a run game coordinator and a pass game coordinator. Our run game has been really solid while our pass game is a mess. Some of that is on personnel but I think the coaching results are pretty clear…
Not a McGiven fan. I’d like to see him with a healthy roster before giving up on him, but so far he’s a huge disappointment. Baldwin would have been better long-term, I think. He was proven and his offenses put up enormous numbers in the past. He got handed StS and GA used him as the scapegoat, which was pretty lame.
Progress and toughness. QB play and offensive discipline is a work in progress. On the bright side, one more week further removed from a Riley/Banker regime. Loved the gutcheck timeout in the 4th by GA.
Still a lot of questions for Pac 12 refs that seem to set Beavs behind the 8ball.
I’m helping some 4th graders with the ODFW Eggs to Fry program. Angry, with your background in biology maybe you’ll weigh in here. We raised trout last fall, very successful.
Now, we have Spring Chinook eggs which are just now hatching.
Here is the question: What is the effect of pH on egg/fry development? So far, a steady 7.5 just like with the trout.
We are aware of Temp Unit calculation and the need to watch ammonia build up.
Thanks to all for any input, there is nothing in our info from ODFW on pH.
I’m assuming water changes or filtration are all set up as a habit. The easiest thing to do is get the mechanics right. The second easiest thing to do is to get the chemistry wrong.
I’m not a fisheries person but here’s a link from our northern neighbors. http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/Library/57264.pdf
I suppose your water is aerated so you don’t have to worry too much about CO2 build-up which would lower pH.
My daughter released salmon Smolt as a school project a few years ago. I asked her about it and she said that they hatched the eggs in a few aquariums that were already established and capable of keeping fish alive for the foreseeable future with regular cleanings.
Yup, just as our trout last year, we started with eggs from the hatchery and have them in a aquarium with an aerating filter and chiller. I’m not too worried about pH, was just curious to see if those with a background in biology had any ideas. The eggs are hatching now and, since the pH is same as for the trout last year, I don’t expect problems.
As for the ammonia, the primary cause for elevated levels isn’t fish “peepee” or “caused by people”. As the spent egg shells decay, ammonia is released. Cleaning out the shells and replacing some water with clean solves that problem. Just a matter of monitoring the NH3 level.
Riley proving the for the second week in a row he can’t win the big games. He’s even got a Senior QB. Looks for Nebraska to take a step back next year as they break in a new QB.
Riley reached the top ten by beating crappy teams, and barely, at that. Now that he’s facing legitimate top-25 opponents, Mediocre Mike is losing in predictable fashion. Funny how everyone outside of Nebraska and nobody inside saw this coming. #TPB #500Ksuckers
Who the heck is Darren Rovell? He tweets here that “there is talk” about Uncle Phil ready to come up with $10mill a year for a HC. “There’s talk” sounds a little like Harry Reid to me!
This begs the question:
Can wealthy businessmen really be this stupid?
I’m going to take a wild guess and say the Coliseum in Rome was probably sold on a weekly basis. Maybe it wasn’t naming rights. Maybe it was. Who would be stupid enough to glorify something like naming rights?
Maybe someone stupid enough to pay for naming rights?
So… is it really within reason that Daddy Phil has to control everything?
Bumped into Mr. John Elway on the sideline at the game today. What an arrogant a-hole. He acted like he had never heard of me when I offered him an autograph. Some people!
To be fair, he was an arrogant a-hole long before he met you. I could tell stories about him being bounced out of Denver strip clubs when his wife was pregnant, but they would probably be false.
And now I’m angry because I think that jerks like Read got a free pass in life because they were buds with a neat story.
Maybe some of you don’t know why I hated Mike Riley as our head coach in his second term. He had a chance to prove his loyalty to OSU. He failed. And someone saw fit to rehire the disloyal.
Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t re-hire DE either.
But there is no need to make anything more complicated than that. I ignore every single word from Mike Riley that refers to loyalty. He has always proven that to be a false narrative. Enriching cronies is his business. And he does it at our and his own expense. He can absorb all the losses he creates. Can you?
How many times did we see/hear that after we all could see Riley was a fraud? There would always be a group that came in and claimed we should relax, that he was the right guy, etc. This is like Groundhog Day!
Anyone that watches college football with 1/2 a brain knew their 7-0 record was, as Scotty put it “fools gold”
We’ve tried to tell them about Riley and his buddies but they just refuse to listen. Sucks to be them. Thanks for the 500K suckers. Shawn Eichorst is officially my fav AD. Children of the corn…….
One voice of sanity: “I think people would be less concerned if we at least looked like we belonged in the same division rather than looking like an FCS opponent.”
Ding ding ding! And Groundhog Day was a great movie.
Cal is having a heck of a time with the refs. Same crew, according to the Cal radio announcer, that Sony Dikes requested to never officiate another Cal game. Same crew Beavs battled last week along with WSU
An intelligent caller to the Nebraska postgame show just posed the question what is the difference between Mike Riley at Oregon State and Mike Riley at Nebraska? Everyone is baffled, until a host responds that Riley at Oregon State probably would have beaten a top 10 team this year by now. LOL
Other than the beavs losing, it’s been a great day of football :)
I don’t get all of the McM angst, there are not many QB’s that inexperienced who are going to put up impressive numbers against UW and Stanford. In replaying the Stanford game, it’s not like the receivers are getting tons of separation either.
I hope he can rise to the occassion against the lesser competition coming up and the Beavs get a couple of wins to close out the season, but I think the staff has made it clear he’s not the future, so I’m more interested in their next decision. It better be a clear upgrade because Garrettson certainly was not.
I read this Nebraska stuff and it’s kind of pathetic. When NU was 7-0, most of these delusional morons truly thought Riley was going to take them to the playoffs in his second year. For a state that is obsessed with college football, it’s interesting that they know and understand so little about college football.
Brother who has two degrees from Nebraska went out to Columbus and went to the game with my oldest brother who lives there. Text message from him at the at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
Is your brother a realistic or delusional NU fan? I would think under your guidance, he would understand Riley’s limitations and not have false hope. Unless Meyer and Hartbaugh retire unexpectedly , Riley isn’t winning anything other than a second-tier bowl game while he is there.
Kind of both. He was impressed that I called their upset last year of Sparty in August.
He does see his in game issues, but constantly brings up his improved recruiting vs Pelini
and “meetings with Tom Osborne” to improve their run game. #clingingtohope.
Nebraska fans in general still think they are the program from the mid 90’s. I think he thought they would probably lose, but could maybe pull an upset due to tOSU’s recent poor play on offense.
Banker cured that!
“Meetings with Tom Osborne” made me laugh out loud for some reason. I don’t know how Husker Nation ever let Osborne retire, if he’s still breathing, he should still be coaching those bastards! It would have saved a lot of hand wringing over the years.
And I’m looking forward to rooting for Minny next week. It would be a great win for the other rodents and send NU into freefall again.
@Wiskey Soaked Napkin. Your Penn State joke was a major hit in the tailgating lot.
Tasteless, disgusting, yet sophisticated was how a friend descibed it…….after he stopped laughing.
We love to mock their self righteous hypocrisy in B1G land.
The O headline OSU “Wears Down”; I thought was an incorrect description. Stanford seemed to be able to play their game while our game was limited by what our offence could do. With our defense and some of the quarterbacks we’ve had in the past, we would have dominated this Stanford team. It was a great moment when GA chewed the defense and they responded. I just wish he would have chewed or motivated the offense about the middle of the 3rd quarter. Probably went on at halftime… I am starting to believe the angry narrative that this two OC thing with McGiven is not working and that GA pulled Baldwin too soon.
Notwithstanding the team played with great effort. I am excited for the future and yes the rebuild is showing great progress. I have faith in GA and his staff for the most part. It’s an upgrade from the tired Riley. But he will have to bring in solid recruits especially at quarterback.
How about a thread about the offense? There seems to be so many things wrong that it’s hard to figure out which piece to pull out of the Jenga. I liken it to optimizing an algorithm where you do 100 things and each of them takes 1% of the time. Working on any one thing doesn’t make much of a difference.
I’ll agree with your question of the empty backfield but cmon. How’d those 3rd and 4th short yardage down work out last week handing the ball off to Nall? Stanford is a much better team vs the run.
Wasn’t there a quote out there from GA along the lines of having an offense that “needs to score 40 points a game” to win in P-12 games? I find that interesting becauase GA frequently talks about how little he is involved in the offense and isn’t it conceding that defenses can only do so much in this league? Maybe he’s right, the game they won they scored 47, but when you see games like yesterday that seems a long ways off. It makes me think that if HC’s basically have 5 years to turn around a program, the “QB savior” needs to be identified next season.
Take this with a grain of salt but it’s an interesting perspective for those of us that haven’t followed the conference too closely this year. Some notes:
In conference, we’ve played #1-4, #6, and #8.
#5 and #7 were our scheduling misses this year.
Our remaining 3 games are the 3 worst teams in conference (not counting us).
Minnesota is currently #1 in their division; Boise St is undefeated. Other than the ID St gimme, our non con schedule was rough.
Bottom line- our schedule has been absolutely brutal, but it will be easing up substantially. Will be very interesting to see how we handle playing legitimately poor teams to end the season. 3-0 doesn’t seem out of the question
“Tonight, the painful last vestiges of the Pelini years are crying out. Ive never been mistaken for a sunshine pumper….but I honestly think we are seeing the last of this BS.”
AHAHAHAHAHA*cough*BAHAHAHAHAAAAA
Someone replied, “At least until next time!” (Smart guy)

Slidin’ dancin’ clownin’
It’s on FS2 right now.
Had to go to fs1’s website to find the channel. 416 on charter.
Texas vs Texas Tech still on FS1 in my part of the country. Still have most of Q4 to play. This is horse shit.
Same
It’s on FS2. Watching non-HD TV is a chore.
Beavs getting calls….I feel a blowout for Beavs today.
Stanford fumbles on 3rd down, pass interference on Stanford gets us down to the 6.
The crowd distracted the kicker /s
Owens is garbage.
And Owens misses a 26 yarder.
What the heck Owens?
And not a single play they ran from the 6 had a chance of getting a TD, when you settle for a FG on 1st down you get nothing sometimes and deserve it
Jesus Christ. Gifted a fumble and just total garbage.
That McM missed read on the option on 1st and goal was tough for the team.
He won’t run it, it’s a stupid call at this point
The read was Bolden vs Nall. Not a stupid play. Bolden would’ve gotten a couple yards. But if he can’t make that read either then yes stupid play call. But also explains why he didn’t start. THIS offer several requires a qb to be able to make that read as much as throw a pretty ball.
I don’t think he was reading Bolden, looked like a fake to him all the way followed by a read of the 3 tech on the DL
Then why did the end get a free look? Why have a fake that isn’t included in the option?
You can, yes.
Why?
So you can leave a guy unblocked or so you can come back to that play later and run the sweep. Lots of reasons, depends on what you saw on tape from Stanford or what you are setting up for later.
Eh, I disagree. The option is already a slow developing play. Slowing that down with a fake that isn’t actually an option is an awful decision when you leave the closest guy to the mesh point unblocked. I don’t care what the film shows.
Missed chip shots. Typical. Loser football.
Stupid penalties. Loser football.
Bad teams settle for FGs then miss them. Funny, in my GMC interview I said special teams have been garbage lately and needed to come through to win.
I wouldn’t say special teams in general…I’d say FGs specifically. Otherwise we’ve been pretty good on ST.
Yes
Who is the back up to Owens?
our catcher
Time for a batch of our famous haymakers!!
Who the fuck is #54? Fucking flailbacking at its finest.
Hook you son of a B, HOOK!!! He’s a bum!!!
Our kicker misses a 26 yarder, theirs makes a 52 yarder.
Mcm looks like this game is too big for him
Not sure who the backup kicker is but we have a highly rated kid on the bench http://www.osubeavers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2963
Get that man in the game Stat.
Owens has the yips, officially a headcase.
Get these slow Texasses off the air already!
You seem to be doing a pretty good job at it.
We’ve seen this before. D on the field too much.
Correct, this game is over.
Edit: and on cue…
Go for the KILL SHOT
Nice I can go out for the day now.
10 point lead for Stanford in like a 25 point lead with there D.
Going fly fishing…amazing weather….
Replay showed #9 being held, then he slapped the receiver across the face and drew a flag for it.
Mcm has to step up if they’re going to have a chance right now looks like he doesn’t want the ball.
Goe was correct. OSU may need to make the decision to reboot the hire at end of this season or next if W’s dont start showing up in the win column. This is a mess and a GA era a failure so far.
You stepped on your own comment when you said Goe was right about anything. That guy is a hack’s hack.
Offense is lost.
Saw Texas has some interest in Harsin from message board fans. They ate expected to get Houston’s Coach Tom Herman. Harsin is available now. Time to go out & get him.
GA Experiment is a dud.
Shut the fuck up.
Timmy Hernandez is the king of coming up 1 yard short on 3rd and long.
That’s it! THAT’S IT!!! Show them your fists! Fill his EYES with BIG ANGRY FISTS!!!
We have some weird trolls today.
Stanford trolls? Smart but no common sense?
Probably a Blitz adherent. They like to act like Ducks.
Bowl bound? Beyond laughable. Team will finish Season 2 with only 1 Pac-12 win and be 1-17 in conference games overall under Andersen. Book it Dano.
They’ll beat Oregon and Arizona most likely, depending on team health.
Sorry Angry. Like you & one day want to move to Santa Barbara myself, but this team ain’t beating noone else this year. Garbage play.
Ahhh… a Duck.
It will be fun to beat them and knock them out of bowl eligibility.
7:58 TOP for tree, feels like a lot more.
Best announcer comment of the day so far:
“That play should have been a sack, except for that really good hold by the RT”
Next best: “Finally a sharp throw from McM”
Low blow! Headbutt!!!!
Perfect pass.
That was a very nice pass. Also great job by Bolden making the corner miss.
Damn hell of TD pass. I don’t think McMaryion is a good overall QB, but he does have a good accurate arm.
Unfortunately it seems like McM has a little bit of Bolden syndrome. Brilliant pass bracketed by 2-3 inccurate or poor passes. Gotta take the good with the bad…
Yep agreed. That and the poor reads on option plays.
That is exactly right.
Is that the first deep ball all season to hit a guy in stride?
Maybe the first deep ball since Canfield to hit a guy in stride…
McM is legit.
It’s concerning the only guys making plays for this team (Bolden, Nall, McM) are Riley recruits.
Andersen is a D guy, some of his recruits are doing well. No coincidence? Points up the need for better brains on the O staff.
I meant on offense. Yeah, on D Andersen has done a nice job.
Example: Hughe-Murray, nice sack.
Only guys making plays for this *offense.
Anderson recruits are making a lot of plays on D.
I think the influx of offensive talent is coming in next recruiting cycle. Mcm hasn’t done anything but one throw other than that has hampered the offense. Good throw on the one tho.
They aren’t the only ones, and the Riley recruits are older, anyway.
D has played well so far, nice to see the TD but now the D is back on the field.
Always felt if Beavs could be within 7 at the half that the return of Bright in the second half would keep it close. We’ll see.
54 is the return of Reuben Robinson.
Haha.
Worse LB: R Robinson, Pankey, Cowdin, or Krebs?
Pankey is the king of the flailbackers. Then Robinson, followed by those other schmucks.
Beavs have hit the QB in the backfield at least six times already. Zero sacks.
Feel like I just reverse jinxed it. If Beavs can cut the penalties they can move the ball.
I just texted the same thing to my dad. Similar issues in previous games. We’re getting there…we’re just not getting it done. Feel like this team is really close to a breakthrough, esp on D.
49 can tackle.
Getting Bright back for the 2H should be a big boost. Especially on tackling & sacks.
I am sick of seeing option calls, McM isn’t a threat so they are a total waste of time.
Terrible call to run the option to the short side of the field. No chance, nowhere to go.
If they had to respect McM it’d be okay, since they don’t it’s terrible
Spot on!
Why not direct snap Collins to run the option?
McM is not a threat. No reason to run any options. Also McM has made 1 good throw this game. I would think he would be improving by now.
This is so Beavers – Nall doesn’t even try for the first, a terrible short punt, and then a huge long gain right before the half to put us away. Three plays in a row that will essentially seal the game.
So much holding not being called
This team is way too young to work the refs.
Nice goal line stand.
StG thinks he’s better than he actually is. He still thinks he can out run everyone out there.
Yeah that was a really dumb play.
Bolden did the same shit for 3 years. Turn towards the end zone and run motherfucker.
McM is so inaccurate. He can’t even throw a short pass.
4 seconds left, possible Hail Mary…….for which the Beavs practiced this week after last weeks performance.
EDIT: And Hill shows how he was taught, well done!
Seriously. Now they reset the game clock? What about the 8 seconds that ticked of when we had the ball with 42sec remaining and a first down and worthless review.
There seriously seems to exist a bias towards the higher standing teams amongst pac12 officiating.
Oh shit, proper defense against the Hail Mary! What is this?!?
Pleased with the defense aside from that long TD by Stanford. Will get a boost with Bright back in the second half. Need to run it down their throats. At least call plays that don’t rely on the QB being a run threat. Stanford isn’t buying it.
Agree, hope McGiven doesn’t follow his pattern of over emphasizing the pass now.
Oh yeah, cut down on penalties.
I’m tired of Seth running sideways and losing yardage instead of just diving forward and getting what he can. Someone needs to slap him in the locker room.
He’s not a smart football player, I wonder if he will ever become one?
OTOH, Parker (somewhat surprisingly) seems like GA. lol
Our defense should be able to give great new looks and adjustments with Bright coming on in 2nd half. So can Beaver offense make good adjustments for 2nd half as well?
That is the question.
Jim Wilson hoping for McM to run.
Will we see StG in wildcat, trick? Will McGiven call too many passes?
EDIT: Quick answer on the “too many passes” thing. 3rd and 2 deep in your own territory. Sheeesh!
Mcm is an idiot
McM is so bad
Empty backfield on 3rd and 2, that is just stupid
Exactly. Then you could have power slid a locomotive thru the hole directly in front of McM so he holds the ball and makes a shit pass for a pick. He could have moon walked across the 1st down marker.
Really bad job by McM.
STUPID PLAY CALL. MCM HAS TO BE READY TO RUN. His 3rd down completion percentage this year is sub 20%
Great play call if McM would run, had a hole you could drive a truck through
Horrible play call there, with the empty backfield making it obvious we were going to throw (on 3rd and 2? Seriously?).
Also, I’m sure the coaches told McMaryion not to run because they’re afraid of injury, but he NEEDED to run there. Certainly better than throwing an interception.
There is no way they would tell him not to run for a first.
If they’ve told him not to run then they should be fired for calling so many options.
I think he chooses to not run. Only thing that makes sense, no OC is dumb enough to call dozens of options after telling the QB not to run
As I reminded above, we once had an OC who called play action from under C on 3rd and long… a lot.
Our offensive playcalling is really, really concerning. We’re headed in the right direction overall but that aspect needs to change now.
Gina’s (more likely Eggers?) got to ask about that playcall!!
Ask what?
Did you call for MM to throw it to a receiver he couldn’t see because he was right behind a defender?
No, ask WTF did you go empty backfield, thus telling Tree that a pass was gonna be the play.
I think I could have fallen down for a 1st on that play.
Third and one and Shaw calls TO to reconsider playcall……….the Bright Effect??
I really think we could be a decent football team. But we have no QB and a poor OC.
The two kinda go hand in hand.
Bellichick was no football genius until Bledsoe got hurt.
And the weird thing about that was that Bledsoe was an awesome NFL QB.
Gotta give it to the defense again to hold near the endzone.
I think McM is showing what the coaches have been seeing for the last couple years. We are just super deficient at QB.
Luton to the rescue?
Nobody to the rescue this year.
Some funny quotes in this thread. I’m going to bookmark this one for posterity and quote the people saying these things.
That’s how i always feel and don’t have the energy to even comment most times.
Stanford being true gentlemen by settling for a field goal there.
Gonna lose another winnable game due to an incompetent OC. He doesn’t cut it as a PAC-12 OC.
McM’s issue’s are all mental.
McM seems to have absolutely no awareness of the play clock.
McM is getting worse the more he plays.
Holy crap!!! What’s the coaching staff trying to do…… wear out Cook and Villamin???
Come on guys, give the other players a chance!!!
Some serious flailbacking there…
McMaryion is totally fucked up as a QB. I mean come on…… He’s got all day back there…. The only thing missing is a rocking chair…..
Snicker, snicker, snort…
Quite clear why he is the last guy on that depth chart.
With the blocking/protection that the OL is providing JC would look bad as the QB.
Afraid of contact. Happy feet in the pocket and will not run.
And still the best option
So is Lavaka out and Stanton back at RT?
So much offensive ineptitude from both teams…
We need to run the ball more. Pierce and Nall ball.
Can’t they’re loading the box cuz mcm can’t throw
I would like to see Blount, he can’t be any worse than McM.
But in McM defense the play calling is beyond terrible.
Oh yeah. This fucking coaching staff plays Nall all day and doesn’t spell him at all.
What a bunch of fucking dick heads.
U think thats why he got hurt? And they have spelled him with pierce and lucas. I think he only has like 15 carries.
I’m guessing he left his browser open… and his son is a Nikegon fan.
Please don’t tell me Nall is hurt again…
Caught a knee to the head on that block.
Yuck. McM throws the ball 4 ft off the ground. Any touch and easy catch for Villamin who was wide open.
Villamin would have just dropped it anyway, or it would hit off his head for an INT.
Man, so many injuries. Two guys in the last couple minutes. 3 for the game now. Brutal.
The simple fact is there is not a D1 qb on this roster. As long as there is no QB this team will keep losing football games.
I love how people are bitching at the OC… Hard to be one when your players can’t execute even simple plays … This team would make any OC look terrible
Very true easy to blame oc.
The Beavs suck at tackling
Before anyone dumps on McM again ask yourself how many games/quarters he’s played?
How good is the OL that’s blocking for him?
How good is the coaching he’s getting?
How good is the play calling?
I’d say give the guy a break. That is unless you’re trying to stir up shit.
I watched him throw two picks that could easily be avoided…
Cost them 10pts too… Guess that’s the rest of the team and the coaches fault apparently
Dominate?! Lol… you always talk about how QB’s should throw spirals… have you watched some of these throws?! What I call that is denial
Bullshit, he has thrown 1 good ball today.
How effective or ineffective the Stanford QB is has zero to do with the fact that we don’t have 1 D1 QB on the roster.
How effective or ineffective the Stanford QB is has zero to do with the fact that we don’t have 1 D1 QB on the roster.
Quoted for posterity.
I stand corrected McM will win the Heisman next season. Now back to your regularly scheduled nonsense.
Yes, because winning the Heisman is the normal person’s benchmark for QB play.
Stanford has a QB willing to run when needed. What a difference.
Does Stanford have a back-up QB?
Luvs, Huggies, and Pampers all around! Woooooo!
Well fuck my face, 9 yards on a qb keeper.
Ah the old McM can’t or won’t run paradigm destroyed there. Lol
He should have 5-10 carries by now, or don’t run read option
Looks more like a won’t than a can’t. That may have been a designed run play call to show him that he can run and it’s not that bad haha.
About freaking time, is what I say.
He should be doing that often. Destroyed on one play, yes. Give me more!
Make that two, nice read and ….throw.
Nall…man, he is an NFL talent who won’t make it b/c of injury. He’s always getting his knees and head knocked around.
Not at RB but somewhere if he stays healthy.
FB then? H-back?
Yes, RB for sure. Could probably play LB as well, but he’s the fastest RB on the field most weeks in college and has goal line ability/power, so why not?
Ah, good ol’ McMaryion who can’t read the option or run. Converts the 2. One score game. A guy with no reps playing a top 30 defense.
Sigh.
You guys are hilarious.
So one play makes up for a dozen missed?!!! I love your logic sometimes Angry! Lol
Thumbing me down doesn’t change your inability to analyze QBs.
I know you are obviously the best at it! Lol… It sure shows!
Butthurt defined.
This McM fellow SUCKS!!! Why in the heck is he in there????
Snicker, snicker, snort
He’s not even D1! lolol
Our oc sux lol pretty great play call on the td and 2 pt conversion.
Now Marcus can can stop worrying about the message boards beating him up over not running
Why do they keep kicking short? So dumb.
Why didn’t he run in the 2nd half vs. Wazzu and 1st half today? It’s like the coaching staff all of a sudden said he should keep it and run.
This. He didn’t hesitate either.
They probably told him to keep it cuz they knew he wouldn’t make the read and the d wouldn’t stay home on him.
I like avocados!
Obviously Stanford is going to score here when you kick the ball to the 15 yard line. Not only that, but right to McCaffrey both times. So unimpressed with the kicking game and decisions all season. e.g. that punt fake, fgs, etc.
Earth to Clune!! Get the safeties up for run support the rest of the game please
Our defense is gassed. We need a turnover here.
Gassed D is the pattern every game. We’re in it for a while, depth catches up with us, and they score easily. Kicking short doesn’t help….
Wilson said they were kicking short on purpose in order to keep the ball away from McCaffery.
Yet another FUCK UP by the coaching staff?
For sure. “Let’s kick it short to McCaffery (twice!) to you know, keep it away from McCaffery”…
Who is coaching ST? It’s been brutal, and this isn’t second guessing, I noticed it the weeks up to this game and mentioned it in the GMC article.
It was interesting though that they played really well for a few plays after GA got them all together and bitched them out. The mental aspects of football are often overlooked.
This defense is gassed but they battle.
They might not throw another pass the rest of the game. Sell out to stop the run already.
If they had kicked off deep, that would have been closer to a 46 yard FG and much tougher. Nice coaching.
If they got those 10 points back off of turnovers they’d be down by one… Int’s are the difference in the game so far regardless of the other mistakes
Gassed defense mostly because of pathetic offense. To many 3 and outs
So McM’s game thus far in realistic terms:
Facing the #28 defense in the Nation, 10/19 for 137 and a great TD pass. 2Ints. One his fault, the other up for debate (could have put more touch on it, but tips aren’t necessarily the QBs fault). A rushing TD. A beautiful 2 point pass.
I’d call that a C+ or B- game thus far. Still time to improve it.
When you have to point to a two point conversion as one of your better passes, you know your having a great game! Puke!
Racist.
You’d fit right in as a campaign advisor for Hillary lol
Sexist.
heh heh
He is hampering the offense by poor decision making, hesitation, and erratic throws. The offense canonly be so productive with the qbs aavailable.
Yeah that’s what’s happening. Lol.
Check out Garretson’s last 4 games. 53, 55, 85, and 24 passing yards. 0 TDs
http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/gamelog/_/id/550720/darell-garretson
Instead of you dopes being happy to have an upgrade, you’re all butthurt because I like the guy.
I’m not sure who is butt hurt. I think we’re pointing out that we still don’t have an answer at QB this year.
Thank you! Exactly! It’s literally killing the teams chances… I think we’d be more effective with Navy or Georgia Techs offensive schemes
10-21 for 137. Take away that 75 yd catch by Bolden and you’ve got 10-20 for 62 yds.
You can’t take away plays. Take away Tom Brady’s 50td and he’d have 0. Yeah, no shit.
Just pointing out that he had one big play but the rest of the day has not been impressive.
And trust me, by no means am I suggesting we put someone else in. He’s still the best we have.
Wish we could take away 2 of Stanford’s TDs. Beavs win!
Seriously, is the consensus that the McM has not ran when it was open because of coaching? I am not aware of anyone saying McM could not, just would not or was not allowed to?
Wow really Angry?
The Pac needs to fix their refereeing issue. Increase the pay grade if you have to.
What, the spanking call?
Nice I called 27-14 game.
Damn I’m good.
Ok, Stuart Smalley.
McCaffery singled-handedly ruining my Nostradamus.
Big fucking surprise that a bad call goes against the Beavers. These refs are so inept.
Haha, OSU has given up 325 yards rushing, and people are blaming McM. This is one of the funnier game threads.
You aren’t blaming the D, are you?
371 rushing yards.
Therefore, no correlation to the paradigm buster.
You’re seriously blaming our defense for our lack of offense? I hope you’re joking.
It is personal with angry, doubt he is joking.
If by personal you mean I’d personally like to see them hold Stanford to around 200 yards rushing, yes.
The Stanford QB wasn’t at all a passing threat. They should have been able to slow the run game more. Stack the box and force that bad QB to beat you.
Only Eight first downs and the turnovers. Yup, pretty hard to ignore the lack of O in this game (even in this season, generally).
Because I see the potential. A lot of the plays are just misses or due to things that can be cleaned up.
Don’t worry, you’ll get your wish of another because McGiven and GA hate this QB.
He’s the best one, though.
Ha, as soon as Angry said Plummer I thought Dalton.
Wow, WSU breaking the handle off in Arizona.
My 2 cents:
Our offensive play calling is a mess.
Stanford is holding on every play.
The holding on that 6 yard reverse was so obvious and right in front of the ref.
Apparently you can lock your big beefy arm around the defenders waist and “hold” him from running towards the ball and that is ironically not a hold.
Let’s do something original and look at the actual data. Stanford has the 38th ranked passing D. McM today 10-21 137 1TD 2 INT. Rushing 2-12 1 TD. yep looks like B- C+ to me.
Correction 10-24
I knew Hughes-Murray was going to be a stud. Very impressed with that kid.
Nice goal line stand there.
All on Bolden.
Bolden “lost it in the sun.”
McMaryion is not the answer. Garretson is not the answer. Blount is not the answer. We have no answers this year.
Exactly
That might be true, but I want to see 6 games from McM, just like StS and Garretson got.
McM has played tougher competition with fewer reps, so I’m not ready to mail it in on him.
Considering how young and depleted our team is, I’m impressed with how they keep fighting. Have not seen this type of fight and grittiness in a Beaver team in a while.
I agree, easy loss to stomach there and no regression (though not much progression either).
Almost 400 rushing yards is atrocious, and if Stanford had a QB that game would have been in the 40s or 50s…
I’m happy with the fight and intensity as well. They need to shore up the penalties, though, 102 yds in penalties today!
Most in the first half too.
C-, as described already.
Last week was a B+, though.
Stanford had a tougher D. So, jury is out. By the Civil War I’ll give my final scouting report on McM. Right now I see potential. Bad footwork is killing him.
Quoted for posterity.
Well, at least we agree that McM had a C- performance today.
If he stinks trust me, I will admit he stinks. I’m not that invested in him. I mostly wanted him to get a fair shot and he’s getting one.
Again it’s this narrative your pushing… I guess it’s a pride issue… Did you ever consider that maybe the team has gotten better overall and that helps McMaryion and yet he’s still struggling?… Put him in week one and I guarantee he doesn’t play the next week… I am tired of your conspiracy theories, it gets old… Then you go off on anyone disagrees with you, while you blindly support a third string QB as the second coming of Terry Baker… But I already know what’s coming… Tell me how much I am an idiot and you know infinitely more than I ever will
No, it’s facts. Pesky things.
Many 3rd string QBs go on to the NFL. Depth charts can be anywhere from correct, arbitrary, to political/favoritism. Jordan got cut from his HS team because of politics. If you don’t realize that’s part of the game then yes, you’re an idiot.
Jordan got cut from his HS team in his soph year because he was an entitled shit stain.
And he proved it in his HoF speech.
Reading your prose is like looking at a pile of soggy pickles.
Yeah… deal with it.
Go Trojans!
Isn’t Riley about to get blasted by Ohio State? Forget if that game is this week but I think so.
This should be funny.
5 pm today. On ABC
Just in time to choke on my dinner hearing the Riley platitudes.
Jab jab jab jab
Slip the jab —– pop pop BANG!
You’re punch-drunk, time to log off
We have two co-OCs: a run game coordinator and a pass game coordinator.
It would be nice to have a full stable of TE’s as well. Losing Smith and Togai really hurt this offenses diversity.
What the fuck is the pass game “coordinating” anyway? The disappearance of Jordan Villamin? If that’s the case, job well done!
It certainly could be worse. USC already up on Oregon 17-0 about 5 minutes in.
Lots of teaching moments for the zebras today.
kindred spirit
Here comes the Riley beatdown.
14-3 in the 1st.
Those poor bastards are about to get Lucy’d
DB #7 for Neb sure has learned the hand jive system well, never ever turn to look for the ball. lol
And, just now, #8 follows suit!
OT… who was the DB coach when Brenda Tracy was gang-raped?
AAAUUUUUUGGHH!
OT: Going for the farthest OT record here.
Ammonia. Aka fish peepee
Incorrect on the basic level. Most ammonia pockets in an aquarium are created by food sources… namely people.
I should amend that.
I’m assuming water changes or filtration are all set up as a habit. The easiest thing to do is get the mechanics right. The second easiest thing to do is to get the chemistry wrong.
*besides getting in a land war in Asia
I’m not a fisheries person but here’s a link from our northern neighbors.
http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/Library/57264.pdf
I suppose your water is aerated so you don’t have to worry too much about CO2 build-up which would lower pH.
Thanks, still studying that resource.
Haha, watching a game and hearing “Mark Banker” gives me the heebee geebees. Those poor bastards.
Tommy Armstrong down with a serious looking head injury. Down 10 minutes and not moving…
Nebby’s Armstrong down and looks serious. That’s unfortunate. Hope he’s ok. MR really has his work cut out for himself now.
Somehow no-one realizes that and puts them at 10…and on cue getting destroyed vs #6
Well, everyone on this board other than beavbutter realized it. Close enough.
Those poor bastards. Poor beavbutter.
Why are we picking on beavbutter? He’s just a moron, nothing more.
Third qtr…45-3
Yep, huskers are back #tpb
I do like that Urban continues to pass though
Okay!
I will do that.
Ducks getting roasted by USC 38-13. This makes me feel a little better about the beavs loss
I can’t decide which schadenfreude to indulge in – quacks or #TPB
Life is hard!
I’m watching lsu-alabama. These guys are definitely wearing big boy pants.
You’re confusing big boy pants with chastity belts. Neither team can score.
Big girls pants?
Girls can score whenever.
Try again.
Flipping back and forth between three games…
Lsu v Bama…WTF three unsportsmanlike on one side, one on the other and that’s called offsetting, hate that b.s. rule
Yes that is total bs. The way I see it there should have been 2 personal fouls marched off against Alabama
The SEC will do anything to protect Alabama. Seen it too many times…
Who the heck is Darren Rovell? He tweets here that “there is talk” about Uncle Phil ready to come up with $10mill a year for a HC. “There’s talk” sounds a little like Harry Reid to me!
https://mobile.twitter.com/darrenrovell/status/795049827885162497
The man is desperate for a title before he dies… Poor Uncle Phil…
This begs the question:
Can wealthy businessmen really be this stupid?
I’m going to take a wild guess and say the Coliseum in Rome was probably sold on a weekly basis. Maybe it wasn’t naming rights. Maybe it was. Who would be stupid enough to glorify something like naming rights?
Maybe someone stupid enough to pay for naming rights?
So… is it really within reason that Daddy Phil has to control everything?
WTF was that?
You can’t handle the truth! These knuckles are the truth!;;;!!!!!!
If only!
Life would be a cakewalk.
but less calloused than your palm. Simmah down there Marcy Rockiano
Who from Stanford wants to get decked in the lips huh?!?!!!!!
Riley’s so great with QBs, two of his threw pick sixes tonight. Hip hip hooray!
What’s funny is that Riley apologists in Lincoln were saying he was better than Bo because Riley doesn’t get blown out like Bo did. OOPS!
Uh-ho Larry……….. 45-20 & 62-3 The day didn’t end so bad after all Baaa HAHAHAHA
Imo the WSU – UA score gives one a sense of just how good the undermanned OSU defense is. Congratulations to the players and the “D” coaching staff!
Interesting.
He thought you played trombone in the Stanford band back in the day. #holdsgrudge.
Elway played in 5 super bowls. Pettibone won 6 Pac-10 games in 6 years. Nuf said
Thank you for your reference to my coaching awesomeness. There is a framed, autographed picture on it’s way to you!
PS: There is a $75.00 shipping and handling charge.

Best comment:
If only he knew.
Can you?
I think DE would be an interesting hire as an offensive coordinator. Can’t be worse than what we currently have…
It would be boon for the local liquor sales.
True story
And right below it is the “relax” thread:
http://forum.huskermax.com/index.php?threads/relaxxxxxxx.91099/
How many times did we see/hear that after we all could see Riley was a fraud? There would always be a group that came in and claimed we should relax, that he was the right guy, etc. This is like Groundhog Day!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDAmPIq29ro
Anyone that watches college football with 1/2 a brain knew their 7-0 record was, as Scotty put it “fools gold”
We’ve tried to tell them about Riley and his buddies but they just refuse to listen. Sucks to be them. Thanks for the 500K suckers. Shawn Eichorst is officially my fav AD. Children of the corn…….
One voice of sanity: “I think people would be less concerned if we at least looked like we belonged in the same division rather than looking like an FCS opponent.”
Ding ding ding! And Groundhog Day was a great movie.
and gone!
“I’m just having so much fun!!!!!!!”
We love to mock their self righteous hypocrisy in B1G land.
tasteless and disgusting describes my personality to a T. Not that it’s any surprise to anyone here at angrybeavs
In case there was any question whether Disney/ESPN and Nikegon were in bed together…..

How about a thread about the offense? There seems to be so many things wrong that it’s hard to figure out which piece to pull out of the Jenga. I liken it to optimizing an algorithm where you do 100 things and each of them takes 1% of the time. Working on any one thing doesn’t make much of a difference.
It’s too bad Mike Leach wasn’t named Sonny Dikes (sic). JB

Edit- forgot Boise St lost one.
OMG THE HUSKER DELUSION:
