LOL. The classic Riley inside screen leads to a perfectly thrown ball…….to the Rutgers DT.
Play action bomb followed by a really great trickeration play and Rutgers trails the Riley’s by seven.
Those hotseat guys see right thru the bull and seem to pretty much tell it like it is. And they, like all the media, like Mike Riley….so hammering him like that doesnt come easy…
Vote for OSU’s Trevon Bradford. He has been wanting to play in the UA Game for months and only recently has fallen just behind the Duck. Support our Beavs while watching tonight’s Hoops and Football games by getting Trevon back ahead before time expires by voting below:
On my phone using Bracket Pro I scroll right 7 times. He is slowly climbing. Easier to not choose full bracket but if you do he is in West – Pacific Northwest. (Red helmet white Jersey with 49% currently.)
Riley Van Pelt winning two in a row to convince Charlie Husker to buy in and kick that football…before yanking it away again with another mediocre season next year #TPB
Since they mentioned her, Ronda Rousey/Holly Holm matchup is a farce. No way in hell has Holm earned a title shot, but they wanted to get her in a Rousey fight before she takes a UFC loss.
Sometimes I wonder why teams feel the need to speed up the offense when they get talent? Wisconsin has always played a disciplined offense. You don’t have to play “street ball” even if you have talent.
Beavs look to have an attitude that they can turn it on at any time and win the game. That’s what the body language and effort shows.
They should run the offense through Eubanks and then have him kick out. That would work best since he’s been effective in there. Driving and missing layups (same as last year), missing free throws (same as last year), and street ballin’ isn’t working
Yeah, you noticed the missed layups too? Historically, they seem to miss more layups than any team I’ve seen, but of course it’s because I watch them more, but it still seems excessive.
way too many offensive rebounds given up in the first half. Too many guys going for the block instead. Knock that shit off! ducks ran this team out of the gym by 48. Are you kidding me? Better pick it up in the 2nd half
Went to season opener at The Barn last night. We might need to temper expectations for our freshmen. I watched three talented freshman…….play like freshman. Dumb mistakes and defensive let downs interspersed with moments of brilliance. Hopefully Tinkle can get the Beav newbies integrated into the existing players without sacrificing wins in the Non-Con.
Finally the Beavs get one of those St. Marys/Gonzaga type bigs (Eubanks) who just makes all the shots and is fluid. Always wondered why they couldn’t find guys like that yet those other schools could. Good eye by Tinkle getting him.
Tinkle’s kid is going to be good. Smart and has a balanced skill set.
Thompson has a great shot, but didn’t seem into D or dishing (might have a ball hog here).
Bruce looked raw but okay — he looks the least ready of the group, and I think he won’t be on the level of the other freshman until later in the year.
“Big G” is very raw…not sure they’re going to get much out of him this year or beyond. Looks nervous and unsure of everything.
Eubanks may have the most upside. From a small sample I’m already thinking he was a steal for the Beavs. Super athletic for a big.
I believe Thompson will get better dishing and D-ing up. The kid seems to have great parents, comes across really mature and is very well spoken for a freshman plus he’s wicked smart (4.0 in HS). With that base, talent/IQ and good coaching his all around game should come around, at least I hope so. I’m more concerned about his calorie intake (Bruce too)… They’re both rail thin.
Tinkle looks bigger than I originally thought. Agree Angry, balanced and heady player. Not great athleticism but good.
Big G seems like project but he’s the type of player that will do anything the coaches ask. Good glue guy role player.
Even jump shooters missing free throws… Not a lot of energy tonight. A win but should have won by 35+. Eubanks, with a turnaround/10 foot jumper plus 20 lbs of muscle, could be pretty awesome by his Jr. year. I think the other freshmen, like most freshmen, will be up/down.
I’m nervous for the Iona game, it seemed like nobody on our team wanted to shoot besides stevie. And Stevie doesn’t seem to want to pass the rock. Drew is good and will only get better. Gary stuffed stats as usual. Olaf played 25ish minutes(guessing) and put up 5 points and 5 boards… Trash. Free throw shooting needs to get better. And 6-20 from deep isn’t superb. Let’s see how we do against a good squad Tuesday
I think Thompson, maybe it was Bruce they look alike, was really good ball handler. I think they need to buckle down on the defense a little bit more, they will realize they can get out and run more with steals. I like Tinkle down low think he will have some big games.
The free throws were disappointing and an era that needs to improve. What worries me the most is the rebounding, NCU was getting way too many offensive boards. Hopefully they can get guys to buy in and attack the glass. We don’t have one guy to windex the glass, we need the whole team to help out.
Overall, pretty pleased with what I saw. Iona will present another chance to see how they respond to the game film and work on a few things.
as a comparative, Oregon smacked these guys 92-44 10 in an exhibition game Nov 4
I predict the beavs score 100+
10 days ago. Fat little fingers
Any Ukranian feeds on this one?
Whoever sent me an anti spam request — you should be good to go now. I didn’t catch the name before approving it.
Is the site running okay/at normal speeds for everyone?
Seems to be running fine. Every once in a while it says database error.
If Olaf starts I’m leaving Gill. Go Beavs!
Racist!
He’s starting.
Eubanks
Schaftenaar
Morris Walker
Duvivier
Payton II
I don’t know that I like three freshman rotating into the game as first off the bench. There should only be 2 freshman on the floor at all times.
Lol not even racist I think he’s pure garbage at the sport of basketball. I agree with Bill, we need to balance out young and old better.
Just giving you crap. Agree on the balance. I watched that in action last night here in Minneapolis.
Olaf started. Did you leave?
Olaf, berserker
Thanks angry,
I’ve been having trouble because the captcha won’t show up…. I appreciate it!

Coaches Hot Seat with more truth:
“The 2015 Nebraska football team IF Bo Pelini was still the head coach would in our opinion right now be…
9 – 1 at worst and 10 – 0 at best
….because the TRUTH is there is…
Plenty of Damn Talent on this Nebraska roster
…and there will ALWAYS be plenty of talent on the Nebraska roster….unless Mike Riley does what he did at Oregon State where in our opinion…
Mike Riley did less and less work over the years
…and left behind a Complete Freaking Disaster in Corvallis…”
Those hotseat guys see right thru the bull and seem to pretty much tell it like it is. And they, like all the media, like Mike Riley….so hammering him like that doesnt come easy…
That’s why we’re around. We love hammering him and proud of it!

Which region? The link gives me other people and I have to click full bracket
On my phone using Bracket Pro I scroll right 7 times. He is slowly climbing. Easier to not choose full bracket but if you do he is in West – Pacific Northwest. (Red helmet white Jersey with 49% currently.)
Voted, but it looks like he already beat the quack in the first round. Now he’s fighting Arizona.
Alabama killing Miss St. Hopefully that helps keep Wallace…
Riley Van Pelt winning two in a row to convince Charlie Husker to buy in and kick that football…before yanking it away again with another mediocre season next year #TPB
They get undefeated Iowa in 2 weeks to finish the season. St Riley already gave them his lone big win for the year.
Sorry but Nostrascottus prophesied 7-6.
I don’t think this will be the starting lineup for long. Offense looked much better with the younger guys in there.
Is Stanford playing Iowa today? Some team in black white and yellow uniforms is on the field.
Tune in radio not working for hoops game??
Tres Tinkle is the next Larry Bird.
Since they mentioned her, Ronda Rousey/Holly Holm matchup is a farce. No way in hell has Holm earned a title shot, but they wanted to get her in a Rousey fight before she takes a UFC loss.
For those watching, what was the tech foul on gp2 for?
Talked a little trash after the drunk
Gotcha. Following game cast sucks.
He got in someone’s face… Kind of…I guess… after a monster steal and dunk
PAC refs meh
it was a pretty weak call
No shit! The refs sucked the entire game. One of the refs was anticipating calls instead of waiting for something to happen.
When Tinks took off his jacket the really bad ref went to the opposite end of the court and wouldn’t look at him. Fucking joke…
Team looks like shit in this first half. I know, I know, just saying.
Basketball imitating the football team: no offense
It’s street ball offense.
Sometimes I wonder why teams feel the need to speed up the offense when they get talent? Wisconsin has always played a disciplined offense. You don’t have to play “street ball” even if you have talent.
That’s some shitty free throw shooting.
Beavs look to have an attitude that they can turn it on at any time and win the game. That’s what the body language and effort shows.

Missing that something to prove, “us against the world” chip on their shoulder this year.
They have more talent, but not enough to get away with that.
Thompson and Payton don’t seem to be on the same page. Thompson still plays like a high school star and not a D-1 player so far.
7-17, free throws. 2-13, 3 pts.
way too many offensive rebounds given up in the first half. Too many guys going for the block instead. Knock that shit off! ducks ran this team out of the gym by 48. Are you kidding me? Better pick it up in the 2nd half
Very wise words from beavergopher:

I have to give that comment a plus!
And a +1 back at ya. :-)
the beavs are looking much better now. that was a nervous first half.
Yeah, but I don’t want to see any kind of let down. Extend it to 20 points and then 25 points and then call it a night.
We doing a football thread today? Don’t want to clutter this up with my “angry” Tlingit talk every time NM commits a turnover….
Now that was a nice move by Eubanks.
Put me on the Eubanks bandwagon. He’s going to be really good.
Beavs win 74-52. 2nd half was better but I was expecting a better all around performance. This effort will not beat Iona on Tuesday
Finally the Beavs get one of those St. Marys/Gonzaga type bigs (Eubanks) who just makes all the shots and is fluid. Always wondered why they couldn’t find guys like that yet those other schools could. Good eye by Tinkle getting him.

“Big G” is very raw…not sure they’re going to get much out of him this year or beyond. Looks nervous and unsure of everything.
14-30 on FT’s will not cut it against D-1 competition.
Iona is always solid. This next game will be more telling.
Jeff Ruland. I always like that guy.
I was going to make a Ruland reference, but didn’t think anyone would get it.
Maybe shows our age Goph:) I’d never heard of Iona until big Jeff. Dude was huge and was a pretty good scorer.
Eubanks may have the most upside. From a small sample I’m already thinking he was a steal for the Beavs. Super athletic for a big.

I thought the freshman were less up and down than the upperclassmen….
Talent > experience.
Yeah, if I think about it you’re right. Need to see a lot more from Malcolm and LMW. Shaft isn’t any better this year. One dimensional.
Duvivier can drive and get to the basket, just can’t finish. How many layups did he tank tonight?
I’m nervous for the Iona game, it seemed like nobody on our team wanted to shoot besides stevie. And Stevie doesn’t seem to want to pass the rock. Drew is good and will only get better. LMW did his more routine disappearing act. Didn’t see much out of Duvivier either.
Seriously Langston has a big play then goes ghost mode or something.
