Home Football Weber St @ Oregon State

Weber St @ Oregon State

154

Hey, first game thread. How does this feel?

The depth chart is scary at a few positions. David Henry is the 2 deep? Chappell as the nickle is questionable. I rewatched his film, and he has those stiff hips I never like to see, but he also makes good breaks on the ball and seems like an aggressive defender. A few other positions as well, but let’s watch a game before getting too far into personnel.

With regard to Weber State, I researched them a bit, and it looks like McBride had them on an upswing, and now they’re on the other end of that. Jay Hill seems like a pretty good coach, and GA spoke highly of him, so maybe he turns things around. I haven’t look into any JC transfers they signed and teams like Weber St can change drastically year to year based on transfers. I’m assuming they’re not 2-10 bad again this year.

All that being said, I do have a feeling the Beavs will be able to hand the ball off and run all over this team. Maybe not in the first quarter, but as the game goes on and the OL wears Weber St down. That will be the key to victory. Now I think GA might be tempted to throw the ball a lot just to get the QBs reps for Michigan. That’s the danger and delicate balance here: the must run enough to wear down Weber St, and throw enough to give the QBs confidence going into next week. If the QBs start out with jitters and a bunch of incompletions, GA can’t force the issue trying to get them on track. He needs to resort to the run and short, quick pass if the QBs go into meltdown.

Hopefully the QBs come out firing on all cylinders, though, and it’s a non issue. I expect McM to have some early jitters and then play well. I don’t know what to expect from Collins passing wise, but I expect a few 20 yard gains on the ground from him.

I have a very good feeling about this game. Everyone is jacked for this era to begin, it’s at home, it’s a lesser opponent. How can’t you love the Beavs in a landslide, even with the QB “uncertainty”?

46-13, Beavers

  1. I feel like Baldwin and McGiven have enough skepticism about the QB’s and where they are currently to start the game of with some confidence building plays. Short passes, screens, easy completions.

I am really interested to see how this defense looks. We haven’t seen Peko or Decoud, Grimble hasn’t been healthy, and others (James, Ugwoegbu) are in new positions. Not to mention the entire system is new.

I’m also hoping Isaac steps back in and picks up right where he left off.

    38-10 Beavs.

    • Decoud is another guy I should have mentioned above. I’m weary of him. He was portrayed as a S. Nelson replacement and clone, but I don’t see it. This is like when the media made Bolden into Cook’s replacement. They get lazy. Decoud is going to be in trouble during conference play, imo, and maybe even vs Michigan depending on their QB situation. There are a few guys behind him who are intriguing, though, so I am not too worried. I think GA will have a short leash with him.

    • Also, looking at their roster, they have a handful (6) of guys that were brought in during this signing period and were put directly into the 2-deep. 3 true frosh, 3 juco guys. Not entirely unexpected, considering they were 2-10.

Everyone in their recruiting class was either 2 stars or no stars.

  2. My only concerns about this one are that we have an inexperienced D in a new system and two young quarterbacks. That could lead to a lot of turnovers on offense and a surprising amount of points on the board for the visitors.

If we don’t let the turnovers do us in, I think this one will follow the usual trend of paycheck games: close early, blowout late.

I’ll be out eating steak with my wife for our anniversary, so, like every other game I ever miss, it will probably be a highly entertaining Beaver win.

    41-20 Beavers

  3. I agree with a 40- teen score. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an even bigger spread. I think our receivers could take some easy passes for some long gains early on and the qb can find their groove. That would be nice to see

  4. Heard on the radio yesterday, the point spread is something like 28. (Can’t verify because I’m on a work computer that blocks gambling sites)
Seems generous. I know they will want to come out and make a statement, but GA is also good friends with the HC at Weber. I just don’t see them running up the score on Weber. Also, I’m not sold on this offense producing enough points to make this such a 1 sided affair.

    Prediction, 31-13

That being said, I’m usually wrong in my predictions, so it will probably be a blowout.

Things I’m looking forward to seeing:

-Playcalling will be 100% Baldwin/McGiven, with McGiven in the booth and Baldwin on the sidelines. No mystery over weather or not the HC is intercepting calls and making the audible.

-How full will Reser be? It’s an odd start time at the beginning of Labor Day weekend. Traffic will suck. Students aren’t on campus. I’m expecting a fairly small crowd actually.

    • I’m expecting a fairly small crowd actually.

That would be depressing. Beaver fans just got voted #1 on twitter (lol). And now they’re not going to show up for arguably their best coaching hire’s first game!?

      • I really hope the crowd is rocking. Wish I could be there but have a family vacation planned. I know of a few die hard fans that had stopped going last year that are now returning.

      • The 5pm start on Friday of Labor Day Weekend is tough (thanks BDC). You would have to leave Portland at 1pm at the latest to be able to fight traffic, park in Corvallis, walk to stadium, etc. If you plan on tailgating, would have to leave even earlier than that.

        • It’s called taking a vacation day. We knew the schedule well in advance so there is really no excuse. I’m headed out of here (Seattle) Thursday afternoon and making it a long weekend.

          Beavs roll, 47-23

        • Some people always complain no matter what time the game is. Michigan is playing Thursday, so the extra day rest is helpful. And for a game on Friday, is there a better time to start than 5? If we start at 7:30, then everyone coplains about the 2am drive home at night. Its a good move playing friday. Playing thursday wouldve been even better. Letting next weeks game be at 9am CT is not ok. The AD needs to write acceptable game times into these contracts.

          • Letting next weeks game be at 9am CT is not ok

There’s no way that can ever happen again. Wasn’t the Penn St game early, too? They didn’t learn. That game would have been interesting with a 4pm start, but now the Beavs have their backs firmly against the wall. They should fly in a day or two early, as someone mentioned.

          • Game times aren’t decided when the game is scheduled. Also, they’re not decided by the visiting team.

You schedule a B1G team, there’s a chance it starts at 11 am local time, that’s the way it’s always been in that conference. Just like if you schedule a game with Oregon State, there’s a chance it starts at 10:30 east coast time.

          • West coast NFL teams have to play at 10am their time for any game that’s not at home. They adjust, so should the college teams. It’s just an excuse when they lose.

          • Sorry whatever, you’re wrong. A non-confrence game contract can stipulate a range of acceptable game times for travel purposes. Unlike UTah, BDC failed to secure a home and home with Michigan, which you would think leaves an upperhand available for the little stuff in the contract. I would love to see the actual Michigan contract. Anyone wanna try for a freedom of information act request for us?

          • I agree. If Utah can get a home and home, Oregon State could as well if they chose to pursue it. And don’t give me that recruiting angle bullshit either. Of the 99 players listed on their roster, 2 are from SLC. Most of their players are from Michigan or Ohio with some Florida kids sprinkled in. Michigan doesn’t need to schedule an away game in a state they MIGHT get a couple players from that they could just as easily get in state.

            http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/mich-m-footbl-mtt.html

          • You don’t know how right you are about the recruiting failures. Or you do and you just mentioned it because you’re trying to ease the stupids into reality.

You’re smart enough. I think you’re being cynical and trying to nudge the conversation your way.

Hint: Location has zero to do with shit. Tradition pulls on emotion here and there. That’s about it.

If there’s something else going on, I and the NCAA don’t have a clue about it.

          • I agree, 5:00 is better than 7:30 in most cases. But on a weeknight, you’re asking much of your fan base to use a vacation day to go watch a football game that is generally played on Saturdays. If it were at 7:00 or 7:30, they could still work that day, and make the game.

I’m remembering back to the Thursday night OSU/#1 USC game a few years back, which had a similar start time. I knocked off a few hours early that day and saw the game, but the stadium wasn’t nearly as full as it would have been on a Saturday. The upper wings of the east side were mostly empty that night, and they even had the students on campus. This was to see a #1 USC team. Not Weber St.

In my case, I blocked out my calendar after noon, but somebody decided it was a good idea to schedule an audit meeting at 2:00 anyway, and I simply don’t have the option of missing that meeting. Crossing fingers that enough people complain and they postpone it till after the weekend.

          • I originally blocked my whole day for this game and then enjoy the rest of the long weekend with my family. Turns out I have to take a CPR class that morning. Now I won’t be leaving Astoria until close to noon. Fingers crossed that I’ll make it in time for kickoff!

  5. Historically, the early season games vs Big Sky teams don’t draw well. Granted, this is the first game of the new era, they’re competing with people taking their Labor day weekend vacations and a 5:00 start time on a Friday. For those not leaving town for the weekend, they’ll still need to take half of the day off from their job to go. I’m going, but there’s a good chance I’ll be late since some jackass scheduled a meeting at work at 2:00.

And we all know the #1 twitter vote is bullshit. Not having the students on campus will be a major factor as well.

    • I usually like what Brian writes, but doesn’t this piece sound an awful like what angry used to write on this site, about the stale narrative “careful what you wish for”, etc.?

Seems like a shot at angry as well as blitz at the same time, since they had an article with that phrase in the headline. Maybe I’m just reading too much into things?

          • just for the record, BeaverByte is a horrible site with an update once every 3 months or so, usually calling for reser phase 3 or tartan end zones. Not that either idea is bad, its just all the loser has to talk about.

          • Yeah… and this is why you fucking hate me. I’m the only person who will call you on your shit.

Note: it’s not really your shit. But you make it your shit for whatever reason.

          • and the reason I don’t like you is because you’re a pompous ass who claims superior knowledge to everyone else about everything. Even when you are wrong, you’ll claim you are right and steer the conversation a different direction to deflect the fact you are wrong. Met many of your kind Jack. As I have stated before I can see right thru your bullshit. In reality, you’re just another idiot. I’d venture to say I’m not the only one around here who feels this way

          • He hasn’t posted an article there in 3 years. Site was much better when he was there. Now it is generic same old no opinion stuff and only gets an update once every month in peak season and not for months at all starting in the spring. Trash the new editor but not Byte, He is a cool alum I once met at a tailgate that now works at Microsoft. Better prospects for a donor than the current guy who probably is still eating Ramen and has no original thought.

          • ^^this^^ most likely. I thought he popped in last month. I think he wasn’t surprised to be ignored. Yup.

*that is not a plus one. he did nothing to plus one. Only a couple of you get plus one. And Alex, you get minus five. You know why. Neener!

  6. Open the Minneapolis sports section today and low and behold there is Riley’s mug staring back at me decked out in Nebraska hat and a red hoodie. Simple Jack has followed me to the Midwest to haunt me. The story is about him and Chryst. “Friends for life.” What a nightmare.

  7. The Beavs are going to be thinking that this one is a given and thus looking past this game to the one the following week. Should be a cake walk but with a secondary that was getting beaten deep and QBs that were throwing balls which could/should have been picked…. Lots of f’ups hopefully none of which cause a loss.

Here’s hoping it is a cake walk.

And what the hell is this with the open tryouts? That to me speaks of unresolved issues which the coaches feel need to be addressed.

  8. Guys like Storm won’t let the team forget about the 2011 and 2013 debacles; he was on the team for both games! Anyway, I think we ram the ball down their throats, break a few big plays with Bolden and Villamin, and hit them in the mouth on defense. They’ll get lucky once or twice with an aggressive defense but overall there shouldn’t be too many issues. I’m thinking 38-17 or something like that. If we win by more than 3 TDs, great. If we’re coming back from behind in the 4th, I’m gonna be depressed even if we do win.

  9. I like having a should-win game to start the GA era. Give us a chance to settle a new system down.

Comeon, GA and team. A new start, a chance to start down a winning road. Get in there and POUND EM.!

    GO BEAVS!!!

    • Jeez, Gilmore at CB?
That poor guy is going to have a wasted career. He had a great offer sheet, too. Michigan, ND, etc. Maybe safety, but I don’t see him being a good corner.

        • He just never has looked comfortable catching the ball to me. I could see him possibly helping the defense, at least more so than he would as a receiver. I think this is a great move, still not sold he is a fluid enough athlete

        • I’ll never forget Gilmore giving up on that route vs. ASU two years ago down there. Mannion faked everyone looking left, including, apparently, Gilmore, who failed to continue his route to the corner. Mannion turned quickly and threw to where Gilmore was supposed to be but he had cut off the route and the ball sailed over his head. would’ve been a gimme touchdown in one of the most frustrating games of the late-Riley era.

That may or may not be emblematic, but I think he just sees where he is on the depth chart and like Vanderveen just wants to play somewhere. Good for him.

      • I think Gilmore’s frame is more of a Safety or OLB but you have to wonder if the staff buried him in a position like the CB position for a reason? There are so many guys ahead of him, he wouldn’t see the field. That’s odd but there has to be something about his story we don’t know. He’s been riding the pines too long with that physique and athletic ability. It’s not just that current shoulder injury.

        Go Beavs!

      • The truth about Malik is that nobody knows the reason why a kid with a offer sheet as long as his 6’3 frame has not managed to find himself on the field except Me, his coach and Malik. Catching passes however was not the reason. Young guys chopping at the bit and making moves only magnified the need for him to have a huge fall camp, having that shoulder injury did nothing to help his cause. The one thing I can promise you is that malik has never bitched about his situation, has zero punk in him, handled every bit of adversity that he has experienced on this team with class. Which happened to be the reason he was voted as a member of the team leadership council, hosted nearly every recruit that this team has really wanted and committed to this program. Dudes that are not respected by their peers do not enjoy these privileges. With this season to learn proper technique Malik will have little problem at all making a impact at olb. He is a workout warrior/gym rat with high character.

  10. This Friday is the only game I won’t be able to make cause the Stanford game, I was able to switch shifts with a co-worker and leave at 3:30 pm for a 7:30 pm kickoff. So I’ll have 4 hours to get there from SE portland.

  11. 38-10 Beavs. No passing TDs. All run or return game (possibly one on defense). Paul Lucas has a big game. Assuming we have good field possession the first play on offense is a gadget play or they throw the fade to unrattle the nerves a bit. It’s going to be hard to take anything away from this game except for the Beavs just doing well on things that they have control of; max. effort, limit mental errors (penalties, blown assignments), attitude (need to keep their foot on the throat once it’s been placed there). If they do well on those types of things, I think that’s a good sign.

    Go Beavs!

    Go Beavs!

  12. Malik actually to stud linebacker, back up to James. Could actually be a very smart move if he can be physical. Might take some time but he’s similar to obum but done at a much better time in his career.

    • I usually get your passive-aggressive fluff. I don’t have a clue on this.

What the fuck are you talking about?

You have to know that I’m experiencing a major deja vu moment involving Russia. Wow.

I think I will forgo this fun.

      Sorry.

  13. OLB is intriguing for Gilmore if he can take the collisions and physicality. That long, athletic frame would be great for the position with speed. Biggest thing (besides being physical enough) is learning the techniques and not slowing down too much while trying to learn on the fly. We’ll see.

    Go Beavs!

  14. I sure hope his shoulder is 100% cuz he’s going to need it at LB.

Too bad Tanner Sanders wasn’t willing to play where the team needed him. Thanks a lot Tanner.

    • if you ever sprained or broken your clavicle, then you would understand that no Malik aint 100% however I don’t believe that any kid who plays at this level is ever 100%.

      • I haven’t broken my clavicle but I’ve had a total shoulder replacement. Not the same I realize.

You sound like you’re family or friend and if so wish him well for us.

        TIA

  15. I’m buying David Henry. Let me clear with the next sentence. I’ve never sold Kellen Clute. Both are just the tough beater-uppers you want on a football team. I’m sorry to say that Riley’s finesse offense didn’t leave room for someone like Clute to be the aggressor, which is why I think he ended up hurt more often than not. Then again, that can be said of a lot of positions. Grimble and Tago wouldn’t have been hurt if they were aggressors. They would have seen that they were handling that vaunted USC O-line, and they would have expected cheap shot shit moves by them. If it was another school, then they would have expected something different. If it’s USC, you know they have no clue how to handle being beat because they’re entitled fucks who will do anything to remain on top.

Henry is built like a little fireplug who can be impervious to such. He is intuitive upon the snap, which puts him in the right place when the ball comes his way. He’s not going to spectacularly one-hand an interception then house it. But you will have to go around him when you get to the point of attack.

I liken it to how Conforto is so dissed as a defender. He’s where he needs to be, as everyone should be. So it’s so very easy to dismiss that one talent because of any other thing, measurables most likely. Nohing about him fits. He looks funny running and tackling. But he’s there for whatever reason, and he gets the job done while prima donna gets pissed off at him for “being lucky great.”

    Inspector Clouseau.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out his roommate ambushes him every night he walks in the door… just to keep him sharp.

  16. Going with the notion that our team will finally be aggressors, I think the O-line will meld sooner than later. And that will happen because they will get the chance on Friday to just power the ball down the throats of WSU whether they like it or not. Those reps will be the most valuable reps we will see all season.

Buh-bye to complex pass pro shit schemes that populate every game. We will now go at you instead of inviting you three yards into our backfield before you figure out you were right… which is 80% of the time.

Ooh! I just felt a tinge of guilty sorrow for Nebraska. Someone talk me off that even ground.

    • “Buh-bye to complex pass pro shit schemes that populate every game. We will now go at you instead of inviting you three yards into our backfield before you figure out you were right… which is 80% of the time.”

      This we agree on

        • kind of an oxymoron considering both teams would have backwards punts, multiple holding calls and false starts on offense, PI calls on defense and no one would win because neither team would know how to properly use timeouts to kick the game winning FG

        • Bike Smiley can officially go fuck himself… if true.

Is he thinking living an Alice Cooper song is doing him any good? All he has is the nice guy thing.

        • “…Mike just said his current Nebraska team could beat his best Oregon State team….”

Imo all it will take is a couple more MR recruiting classes and he’ll no longer be able to say that.

          THANK YOU NEBRASKA!!!

  17. Scotty Scouting Report!

I’m in Michigan now getting an advance scoop on our first FBS opponent. Here’s what I’ve learned:

It’s not a barren snowy wasteland here year-round. The locals refer to themselves as Michiganders which I find hilarious. Unlike all true Beaver fans after last season, no one here likes Ohio State. Sales tax sucks.

Yep that’s all I got, go Beavs

  18. For Weber State, I expect OSU will take very different approaches to offense vs defense. And much of that will be done with an eye to next week’s game at Michigan.

On offense against Weber State, OSU will be conservative. We have an experienced core on offense, with a strong OLine and RBs, and I think we will simply use that group to run the ball down their throats. Storm Woods will start, but Chris Brown, Damien Haskins, and others will get plenty of carries. Only if/when Weber State packs the box to stop the run will we start throwing much, beginning with short, safe passes over the middle to our tall receivers (Villamin, Caleb Smith, Vanderveen) and short, safe outside routes and bubble screens to our faster receivers, Bolden, Jarmon, and Paul Lucas. There will also be at least one hitch-and-go route to Bolden. But the general plan will be to stay conservative on offense, for several reasons. 1) it’s the safest way to play against an overmatched opponent; 2) it’s the best way to build the confidence and competence of our young QBs; 3) it provides the minimum amount of information to Harbaugh’s staff at Michigan to prepare for the following week’s game; 4) it avoids unduly running up the score against a weak opponent coached by a guy who Andersen knows and likes (Jay Hill).

On defense, in contrast, I expect OSU to be super aggressive. That’s because Sitake will be trying out a lot of new personnel and new schemes for the first time under fire, and the coaches will want to find out asap what we’ve got. I expect to see lots of blitzing, lots of different personnel packages, and a variety of schemes. We may get burned deep a few times as a result, but I think the coaches are willing to take that risk in order to find out as much as they can, as quickly as they can, and also to build up the swagger of the guys on defense.

All of this potentially positions us well for next week’s game at Michigan. Harbaugh won’t learn much from our Weber State film. In contrast, Andersen and his staff will likely learn a lot from the film of Michigan’s opening game at Utah (which Michigan will be hard-pressed to win — and likely won’t be holding anything back). I’m guessing that there are few things more exciting to Andersen than the prospect of taking down Jim Harbaugh in his first home game at Michigan, on national TV. And I expect that Andersen will direct this Friday’s game against Weber State with that prospect very much in mind.

    Go Beavs!

    • I’m expecting Utah to win at home vs Michigan. I’d say upset vs Michigan, but Utah won last year and I’m not sure Michigan is higher ranked.

      • Winning at Utah is no easy task. Michigan has their new Harbaugh swagger but not much else of note. Look for Harbag sideline antics, Harbag butt-kissing from the media, and a Ute victory

        • Yeah, I don’t think this is the year for Michigan, he got too late of start and the program was in bad shape. I’m glad we play them early as they will improve through the season, next year they will be better. Next week is a winnable game, let’s see how we look this week though.

          • I still blame the refs. IIRC it was on the 2 point conversion. bogus PI call on a ball that was 15 feet over the head of the receiver. That was pre Pac days for Utah where home cookin was the norm for Utah vs Pac-10 opponents. See games at Hawaii in the distant past for more examples of this

          • Are you talking the no-TD TD in 1989? That sucked… mostly because it was obviously a catch… only confirmed to be obvious by replay.

The wheels jumped off Kragthorpe’s ship after that play. At least we beat UCLA… finally… on national TV that year. Thing is, none of the losses that year were close, but we were that play and the tie (ASU?) away from ending the losing season streak… and then we weren’t.

          • I recall it being a rushing play. Pat Chaffey did not fumble either. Between that game, the Oahu bowl in 1999 and the 2006 regular season ending game in Hawaii that the Beavs did manage to win, the islands (and refs) were not kind to anyone not from the WAC. Or Mountain West. Or whatever fucking conference they happened to be in.

I was also a freshman in HS that season and was at the ASU game that ended in a 20-20 tie (or was it 17-17?) Bitterly cold wind that day. That I will never forget. OSU attempted a game winning FG on the final play that was not even close lol

          • You know you’re getting old when Halahuni dropping the 2PAT reminds you and melts into your thoughts about Pat Chaffey obviously not dropping the ball.

That 2006 game was bullshit. Hawai’i was obviously trying to maim Perry for most of the game. And guess what. They did.

    • I expect OSU will take very different approaches to offense vs defense. And much of that will be done with an eye to next week’s game at Michigan.

Why would they show Michigan everything on D but nothing on O?

I think they’ll view Weber St as a tuneup for Michigan and work the core plays on both O and D. Maybe go a little deeper into each playbook. But I don’t think they show too much on either side. I think they’ll work mostly on core plays and save most variations off those plays.

      • “Why would they show Michigan everything on D but nothing on O?” I think silver answered that and hit the nail on the head when he said, “to find out as much as they can, as quickly as they can, and also to build up the swagger of the guys on defense.”

Now, everything/nothing are a bit too strong, but still, swagger is gonna be big for this D whereas efficient competency will be for the O. I think that is a reflection of the two coordinators.

        • Everything and nothing = silver’s “aggressive” and “conservative” comment.

Maybe a bad choice using absolutes, but my point was they’ll probably want to save a lot for Michigan [and the Pac] on both sides of the ball. You can’t blow your load in game 1 vs an inferior opponent. I expect a lot of base offense and defense with an occasional wrinkle. Unless the game is close. Then you have to dig deeper into the playbooks.

          • I agree you can’t blow your load… But, Justin Strong was excited on JoeBeav that the D has so many schemes out of the same formation; I think Sitake wants these guys to build their confidence in the effectiveness of the stunts he has taught them. OTOH, playing two green QB’s automatically limits the amount of the playbook which will be used by the O.

Bottom line: open the playbook more on D than O. And, this D is gonna HIT!

          • I would expect trick plays we never again see on either side… unless they’re so hard to figure out that they become wildly successful against everyone. So yes, one book will be thrown at them, if not to just try that book out to see if anything in it is viable.

  19. I don’t want to make a prediction, because its a complete guess, since I haven’t seen this team play. But I will put 36-23 (In fact I switched my score four times). I feel the defense might struggled a little bit and the offense will look good early, but struggle with the changing of the QB’s throughout the game, and not be in rhythm. But in the end they win the 4th quarter.

  20. I don’t think people are factoring in how big a game changer isaac seumalo is. They can probably hand the ball off 100 times and win by 40 running behind him, if they wanted to do that.

      • If he isn’t, you’d hope they wouldn’t play him and risk injury. Hopefully he’s being honest, too. It’s a precarious situation. I think the staff was smart to baby him during both training seasons.

        • As I understand it, he pushed himself to get back on the field and that contributed to the need for the second operation. Hope he learned his lesson.
Him not being honest with the coaches is the only way I see him playing hurt now.

  21. Having witnessed many coaching changes, the first games rarely go smoothly with all the schematic changes. Not feeling the love for the season opener. I betting the O-line is not as dominant as we all are thinking, at least for now
Spotty QB play leads to red zone struggles. O scores 1 TD but Garrett connects on 5 FG’s. D gives up a few big plays. Beav’s start the GA era with less than impressive 22-10 victory.

    • I dunno, that sounds like Riley type of offensive output… It’s not like we will have Mannion back there throwing it away on 3rd and 2

  22. I hadn’t noticed all the marketing stuff going on until now. The official site has changed. And are the new edits being sent to recruits borne of Beavblazer’s friend from twitter? I usually think that kind of stuff is vain and childish. But these things are good comic book quality. Impressive.

But he should be corrected if it’s what I think it is. That’s not a generic OSU football player. That’s Mr. Ward.

  23. Anyone else headed out to Michigan? I leave Thursday AM. Looking forward to it. There’s already 400+ confirmed at the Blitz/ Alumni tailgate so based on that it looks like we are traveling ok.
