      • Right, you’re not going to get a lot of non-Mormon kids going to BYU without a lot of consideration. I’m hoping some of the defensive recruits understand that side of the ball is GA’s forte and he has a nice resume to support it.

  1. Well, it was down to two candidates and Niumatalolo has a pretty sweet deal at Navy. You could see this setting up the past 24 hours. There are just not a lot of options for BYU. It’s a pretty good gig for a first time HC, but they will only be so patient. Gary Crowton started out hot and after a couple of losing seasons he was shown the door. If Sitake fails, they will go after Whittingham hard (though I don’t know how they will ever pay him enough).. As someone mentioned, this intertwining with the state of Utah is not advantageous for OSU.

  2. In response to angry’s post in the last thread, wasn’t the reason Aranda didn’t come to OSU last time was because Andersen told him to stay at Wisconsin? Could’ve sworn that was the rumor, at least.

Also, if Sitake doesn’t end up leaving for BYU for whatever reason, who does BYU turn to then for their next head coach?

  3. Then it looks like we just paid Sitake $730k to help with a 2-10 season followed by churn and a reset. Banker could’ve done that and for a lot less…

  4. Awww fuck! This can be spun in many ways, almost none of them will help the Beavers get better anytime soon.

“Hey our DC has been going through the motions last couple weeks is job, and our OC is so incompetent we think he might be able to at least coach inside receivers. Or something”

None of this exactly screams “come play with us we have a clear direction and vision”

Fuck this is just going to make everything take at least one year longer. It looks like we signed a bunch of nobodies today.

It’s going to be a long season again unfortunately. :-(

    • Your’re right. A major program hires our DC to go be the head coach at his alma matar. Makes us look terrible.

Two, young, hard working coaches were promoted to take the spot of an aging coach who made questionable decisions all year with serious soda issues. Can you imagine all of the negative recruiting taking place right now.

In all seriousness I’m happy to have a proactive coach over one who wasn’t even reactive. Just stagnant.

  5. Fuck just fuck. Sooooo tired of having an uncompetitive team! It’s always “wait till next year” and then next year comes and somehow it is an even bigger steaming pile of shit!

    God dammmmn it!

  6. Speaking of DCs, if GA is going to find out who’s available, at what point does he pick up the phone and start putting out feelers?

  7. How about Don Brown from Boston College? Assistant of the Year this year. He has a track record of turning bad defenses into top 30 defenses in very little time.

  8. Andersen is a Defensive coach. As mentioned previously, when hired he said Sitake would be a head coach in 3 years, so this can’t be all that unexpected. We know Sitake has a great personality, and is a solid recruiter. We don’t know if he’s a great coach. For all we know Whit was the mastermind behind Utahs defense. They didn’t skip a beat this year.

If I had my druthers he’d stay, but if he has a better opportunity for his family then best of luck. Next man up. And it’s way better he go to BYU then a competitors school. He can have all the mission kids. It annoying to keep track of anyway, and they don’t really have an obligation to play for us when they get back.

Plus this is still all speculation. So whatever. In Andersen I trust. For now

    • Why do people keep saying that a head coach job is better for anyone’s family? $700k is already plenty for any family. An HC dad is around even less and even more stressed out.

    • There’s no questioning the defensive success at Utah is primarily due to Whittingham. And the new DC, John Pease, has been an upgrade there this year, in my opinion.

  9. GA has now lost his splash hire. He probably figured Sitake would be a name for hire in about three years, but didn’t think the BYU job would be in play in one year. The Poly plan for recruiting has now taken a big hit.

    • Go hit some of that nitrous and lighten up. Even if Sitake is gone we have like 5 Polynesians still on staff. And like 50 on the team lol. The poly thing is more about family then the man in charge. Byu will get the guys who want to go to byu. We had a strong poly presence when opie and the bank were in charge, so I’m sure we’ll Still get our fair share of my island brothers either way.

  10. Ya but it’s still huge for the guys. I live in Hawaii and they like they’re own kind alot makes them feel comfortable. I bet he would take tuiaki as well. We have always had quite a few polys but u can already see the influx of the numbers already. However i think that is the recruiting utah thing and GAauite a bit.

    • I wouldn’t bet the farm on Sitake taking anyone from the current OSU staff. You think BYU will pay for assistants? Shit they won’t even pay for a head coach.

      • That’s true didn’t think about that. I was just thinking about how they kind of came as a package. Also forgot that he had ties to Andersen before sitake.

  11. Cougarboard speculating the GA staff shake up was a move to make Sitake’s transition to BYU more difficult and cause him to reconsider. Though is he would try to bring Tuiaki and McGiven with him as assistants, so by giving them raises at OSU, they’re less likely to leave and Sitake has a more difficult task in assembling a support staff.

Considering the timing, it seems plausible.

  12. The Coke Zero demotion is interesting. I wondered when GA got McGiven to take a demotion to come to OSU if there was a win, wink plan to have him elevated to OC in 2-3 years. It also seemed to fit with Coke Zero’s history of wanderlust. Lots of programs are still shopping for OC’s.
Will he still be in Corvallis after the coaches convention?
@Angry, any rumors of friction between Zero and GA. I remember one of the TV shows where they showed him at halftime and he looked like he was going to cry. Too negative for Gary?

    • My concern with McGiven is that it appears that McMaryion had the potential for the greatest development, so why didn’t the “QB Guru” notice that right away? I would be inclined to give him a pass if it were just “intangibles”, which are subjective and sometimes not known until a QB plays in a game, but every Beaver layman could tell that Nick Mitchell had serious mechanical problems with his throwing motion, in addition to not being ready for play at the D-1 level. How does a coach not address throwing motion issues over the course of practice after practice?

I must confess, after some reflection I was not super impressed with the coaching job GA and staff did this year. Lots of bizarre decisions. Note, that I’m not saying the results would have been any different, but I felt it was a at times a disjointed and fragmented effort. Of course, GA has all kinds of time and needs to get his own recruits, but even with crappy circumstances, it didn’t wow me. Just one long time Beav fans opinion.

      • Makes more sense if we consider Baldwin the decider of who starts at qb (and possibly arbitrary emphasis on “legs”) GA gave Baldwin a long leash this year; he just reigned it in.

  13. I don’t see why we’re all whining about this. Of course it sucks to lose a promising coordinator, but remember, some people on this board wanted Sitake as the OSU HEAD COACH last year (he was considered that good). He was on the rise and was being considered for HC jobs last year. Why are we surprised that he’s being considered again this year? I would rather have had GA go after Sitake last year knowing that he was getting a great coach who could be on the move again soon — it shows just what kind of program he wants to run: one that has the BEST coaches and players. It’s in GA’s nature to surround himself with the best people. If he didn’t do that he’d be a hypocrite. So, now he’s got to go find another DC, and my guess is, he’ll bring in the BEST coach he can find. Kudos to Sitake if these rumors are true. Can’t wait to see who GA steals for his next DC. Go Beavs!

  14. ” Of course it sucks to lose a promising coordinator, but remember, some people on this board wanted Sitake as the OSU HEAD COACH last year (he was considered that good).”

Lmao! And who here was clamoring for OSU to hire Sitake as head coach? Go ahead, I’ll wait

  15. From the Bozeman Daily Chronicle – “NDSU’s winning streak is the fifth-longest in the nation.” NDSU being North Dakota State.

So what, you say. Perhaps, but given NDSU’s prowess in football & I realize it’s only the Big Sky conference but it seems the Pac-12 doesn’t bother recruiting in the fly-over states. Granted, Oregon waits until Big Sky teams develop quarterbacks but initial recruiting, apparently not.

I think Tinkle once had a player for Montana – very tall- from one of the Dakotas. I wonder if he considers that part of the world now that he’s at OSU.

    • That would be Brian Qvale who played for Tinks. I think he was from Williston, so he was practically Montana anyway. There aren’t many D1 players in any given class. For starters, there are as many people in that state as there are within 50 miles of where I sit. And you could tell who was D1 material pretty easily. Back in the day, Dale Brown would roll through a couple times a year and recruit anyone over 6’9″. And I would give him crap for going to Nikegon. Phil Jackson was from Williston/Montana too. I think Anderson (Pepperdine) and Boschee (KU) were both VC kids.

You would think if there are any D1 players they would at least end up in the MVC playing for Ben. His father would know who can play in that state.

  16. Utah fans are no doubt laughing at what’s happening at OSU….

I am trying to put this in a positive context. Sitake’s defenses historically had big play potential, but gave up a lot points to go along with all of the sacks, so I think from a coaching perspective OSU could do better.

The timing is frustrating, but maybe better now than in a year or two? There’s good arguments for change later v. now, but it is what it is.

If Sitake is gone, I hope Andersen can find a D coordinator that has strategic and recruiting strengths, and diversifies OSU’s expanding recruiting geography.

This transition has been slow in the context of current NCAA coaching transitions. The unique requirements of BYU, and the opportunity/benefits at Navy, have resulted in a slower change and while it feeds impatience in the twittersphere, I respect that these coaches are being deliberate.

  17. I find it curious the timing of Coach A’s announcement on the coaching changes only in regards to only the offense. It might be that he is waiting for Sitake hire, then hire his replacement and then annouce further changes on to the Defensive staff.

    • Will GA’s move(s) cause a rift between him and Sitake?

Edit: When I posed that question I was thinking that Sitake would probably stay at OSU but now with Angry’s post below my question is pretty much a moot point. As are most of my comments.

      Oh well.

  18. Was this posted? Done deal.
    http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=15126373

    So who does OSU hire?

These Utah people are incestuous. It’s the one thing I don’t like. Take Crowton, who has a daughter married to McGiven, I think? Some relationship there. But all the sudden McGiven gets promoted after Crowton looks things over. Wonder if Crowton was bashing Baldwin to get McGiven a bump. Some say it’s b/c of Sitake. Maybe, but why would Sitake want McGiven? None of these coaches have proven much. You’d think Sitake would want a proven OC to give him a chance to succeed. Andersen is being overly impatient and setting himself up for failure promoting an unknown like McGiven. Maybe it pans out, but it’s a huge and unnecessary risk. These Utah connections rub me the wrong way. I can’t think of any other State where it’s this incestuous and just weird. If I knew we were in for this I might not have wanted Andersen, tbh. I think he’s a great coach and will do well still, but I can’t stand the drama and incest.

    • “…I can’t stand the drama and the incest.”

      The too are generally inseparable…

To reduce this, Andersen needs to go outside the mud puddle of the current gene pool….

      • It would be nice if GA came up with someone who could successfully recruit Tanielu, Savea and Johnson but that’s probably not going to happen.

    • “…You’d think Sitake would want a proven OC to give him a chance to succeed….”

FWIW – According to his bio McGiven was OC at Montana State and Utah State so I take it you’re saying he needs to prove himself as an OC at a higher level first?

        • Agree. Obviously you and I have no way of judging McGiven’s competence or lack thereof so we have to rely on GA knowing what he’s doing.

I’m with you in thinking that as an OC his 2012 Montana State team (11-2) and his Utah State teams (2013 9-5), (2014 10-4) are not proof that he can cut it as an OC at the Pac-12 level.

All we can do is wait and see. Starting off with does he stay or does he jump.

    • A couple of factors. When coach A was hired it was not the ideal time recruiting had to be done and many coordinators had taken jobs already. He probably went with guys he knows and could convince him to join him and since his background was predominately Utah that is where he went and had the most contacts.

Secondly, if he brings somebody from the outside circle he now has to convince them of his vision and also the ability to sell that vision to the players. When time is short you lean on those who understand you and appreciate your vision.

They want to recruit Poly’s so they need coaches who can speak to that. They want to run a 3-4 flex scheme so they need somebody comfortable with that. The next person they bring if from the outside would need to learn those or have a similar philosophy.

New blood can be a benefit as they bring in their own ideas and schemes that might be harder play against or more effective with their group of players.

They know they must recruit better athletes here. So, that coach you would assume would be highly capable of bringing in those attributes.

I have to believe Coach A already has a plan B option for when SItake leaves. Probably has already put out some fillers. One thing Coach A brings is a structured preparedness. He knows what he wants and has a good idea how to get it.

The thing that he may have underestimated before taking the job was where the program was in regards to the vision he has for a program. I think the task of rebuilding is much harder than what he initially thought. So, I think he has reassessed the program and adjusted to fit that. Will it work is the next question.

Luckily they happen to be some of the best coaches in the nation. If Riley were hiring great coaches who he happened to know that would be a much different story and sentiment.

    • I don’t see myself disagreeing with you. I am agreeing it’s incestuous, just that they’re better coaches than Banker, Cav, Langdork, etc.

“Best coaches in the nation” was wrong and over the top. It looks like I bought into some hype and got caught up in the excitement with that comment, though 1 year isn’t enough to know, so the jury is out. With Sitake we’ll have to see how good he is at BYU. I felt he was overrated as a DC and expect him to fail. But I’m not good at predicting coaches. I thought Shaw would suck and Andersen would win 5 games.

  20. Been mentioned before but what about Wilcox as DC? Not enough success to be considered? Good, local ties to the State of Oregon even if he is an uck

  21. Should look to the d2 ranks too. Bet they could find a top defensive guy there who wants to move up. Need a guy who can really coach right now vs a guy who recruits. Not likely to get a guy who excels at both.

  22. Everybody is talking like this is a done deal. Other than random links with zero verification there is nothing out there that says this is a slam dunk. BYU has historically been all about offense and scoring lots of point KS does not fit that mold being a defensive guy. Also listening to KS speak to the press he is not the most articulate guy out there so I’m not sure BYU would want him as the face of the program. My hunch says when the chips are down they will look in another direction.

  23. Can not believe a D1 school offered Gus Lavaka LOLOL!

that fat ass has been a running joke in our league for years. I’ve played against him since 4th grade and have always whupped up on him! I’ve pancaked that dude SO MANY TIMES!

But no schools offer me cause I’m 5-9 264 instead of 6-4. Gus is a straight up quitter once you hit him, we’ve been making him cry for my whole life! Trust me the guy has NO HEART!

Just to give you a better idea, here’s how he would rate in Madden-

    Strength: 25
    Speed: 12
    Agility: LOL
    Awareness: 3
    Toughness: -30
    Stamina: 0
    Run Block: 16
    Pass Block: 22

He is a big wimpy fat guy.

Watching his “highlight” video is laughable. How many plays did they leave out of that? Look at players videos that played against him. You’ll see Gus getting ROLLED. lolololol

  24. Gus Layin-on-his-back-a!!! LOL this guy will never see the field!

Gus’s patented move is the shuffle step alligator arm fall over. He does this over and over again.

Who’s your talent scout? He needs 2 b fired! Lolol

    • Your post reminds me of why I enjoy hanging out at this website. At places I’ve frequented in the past a post like yours would have caused the blaring of trumpets and the calling out of the cavalry in order to defend someone who the members knew nothing about but felt that had to defend because someone had the audacity to besmirch one of “their own”.

That said, I’m with black bandit and am awaiting links to some of this video to which you refer.

  25. Not sure if anyone saw this, or if it has any credibility, but perhaps this means good things for OSU? (I recognize that this tweet came out before the Navy guy “officially” turned down BYU, but if you had Sitake locked in as the backup, then why would you extend the search? Perhaps there’s a dark horse candidate out there?

Word out of Provo is that BYU is extending coaching search until after Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday.— Bill Wagner (@BWagner_CapGaz) December 16, 2015

  26. “BYU football: Oregon State’s Gary Andersen says BYU should move quickly if it wants Kalani Sitake”
    — from Salt Lake Tribune

    also according to article

as far as Coach GA was aware of, no offers were made yet of his assistant although if BYU going to offer do it soon as possible replacements are already being snatched up by other teams.

also Navy Coach did not get an offer till Wed morning

  27. Am I missing something, this is a serious demotion for Baldwin, right? He goes from being the only OC in the nation with a 3k passer, and 1k receiver and rusher and interim HC of a bowl game to this hodge-podge/hybrid of a position in less than a year. He can’t be pleased behind closed doors.

        • Sometimes the game passes you by (see Riley). That sucks. But I still think he self-demoted. And he’ll stick around for next season. Wasn’t Horowitz speculating that Collins wouldnt be playing at OSU next year? If so take his opinion with a grain of salt.

          • Good point about Horowitz, it all just opinion at this time.
Still, pretty unusual at this level for the ego to let go; good for Baldwin if he made the decision and is able to contribute, but “inside receivers”?.
So, is your theory that he wants to stay involved (and employed) but just doesn’t want everything that comes with being a coordinator?

          • I kind of think it is what it is……….the offense was horrific most of the season and Baldwin was the OC, but since it was only one year, he was given another job instead of being let go outright. I will be a little bit surprised if he is still coaching with GA next fall. If we can take the view the GA was very proactive here, then that is impressive compared to Riley and his good ol’ boy group who were never held accountable for poor performance.

          • No sure of his mindset. He looked….defeated? on The Drive, the few times I watched. And that might be the case, or he might be taking the Dennis Erickson route. Just fine with taking a back seat and giving input when needed. I think he wants to coach but might need a break from the pressure.
I also think this unofficially happened before the CW, I think that game was more of a group effort, Baldwin, McGiven, Crowton and Woods, than a Baldwin only show.

  28. Baldwin is Seth Collins personal Coach now….

I think it’s a good thing – Collins Cat, Seth fly sweep, sit down find space for catch , return kicks ….

  29. “2002 says:
    December 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm
    Rating: -4 (from 8 votes)
… Collins is the QB now and going forward.”

Good ‘ol “2002” and his two upvoting compatriots again debunked by Andersen in this piece by Eggers:

“Moving forward, Seth is a part of our offense at wide receiver, quarterback and running back,” Andersen says. “We want (opponents) to have to deal with him all over the place. He has shown he can do it. He has handled it mentally and physically.
“Seth will be a centerpiece of our offense in many ways. We want an offense driven by players, not … scheme. Seth is a huge piece of that.”

    http://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/285783-157429-beavers-seth-collins-here-there-and-everywhere

“We want an offense driven by players…”
In another piece, Eggers quotes Andersen on McGiven “Kevin is an excellent play-caller who … has done a nice job taking advantage of his players’ strengths rather than just sticking with scheme”

How does all that square with Baldwin’s handling of the RB’s last season?

  30. I left my home at 9:30 to go on a hike, got back, and nothing has changed? Seriously? I thought we would see something one way or the other by now.

  31. Have had 2 different defensive recruits ask if I had any info about Sitake and if he’s staying or going. The longer BYU drags this out, the more people it will affect besides just our coaching staff

  32. As long as this Sitake/BYU is taking, would there be any negative impacts if Sitake doesn’t come to terms with BYU and comes back to Corvallis?

The approach Andersen assembled his staff – “getting the boys in the band back together” was a popular media analogy – is a reminder of the challenges of friendships in the work place. I’ve always thought that in the work place, competence, integrity, and ethics come first, friendships after if at all. I’m not suggesting Andersen’s staff lacks these three characteristics, but I think having hires that appear to be based so strongly on friendships can make staff management more challenging than otherwise; we’ll see how the Baldwin “reassignment” (demotion) plays out as well this Sitake issue.

Change in the workplace is unavoidable and even healthy, and Andersen knew Sitake was going to get offers, but at some point it seems Andersen has to push for a decision because as head coach he needs to hire a qualified candidate if Sitake is gone. The longer this takes, its likely the pool of desirable candidates gets smaller. Does their friendship overly complicate a management issue? Does Andersen have a candidate in his back pocket that is willing to wait on the BYU/Sitake process?

    • I was thinking along the same lines but from the perspective of:

If GA wants to bring in an outsider as the new DC at what point does he fire Sitake in order to be able to get his staff in place?

      • that Salt Lake tribune link I posted above, seems GA is trying to say to BYU, if you are going to hire Kalani, hire him already, so I can go ahead and contact the people I have in mind for a replacement

“And while Andersen said he would be happy to keep Sitake, his preference is that if BYU is going to offer the job to Sitake, that it do it soon. Possible replacements for Sitake are being snatched up by other teams, said the former Utah State and Wisconsin coach.”

“”You would hate BYU’s process of hiring somebody and taking a while to hire somebody to hinder us being able to move forward,” Andersen said.”

        • “”You would hate BYU’s process of hiring somebody and taking a while to hire somebody to hinder us being able to move forward,” Andersen said.”

Andersen could just go ahead and hire a D coordinator and move Sitake to “inside linebackers” coach if the BYU thing doesn’t work out for Sitake….

          • I think Sitake is on a multi-year deal and moving him to a different position wouldn’t allow us to cut any salary or make room for another staff member. Unfortunately BYU is in the driver seat and can take as much time as they want. I can guarantee that pisses off our coaching staff.

        • That’s fine and good, but it’s not like GA has any real leverage. He’s posturing a little because it has mesed up his short term plans. The only hope is that the Sitake gets pissed at the slow process, but in reality it has to be dream opportunity for him at this juncture in his career.

    • Andersen might just take over as HC/DC for one year if this drags on. Probably use a guy on staff as assistant. I wouldn’t worry about it too much since GA has a defensive background

      • That’s a good thought. Obviously the talent was sorely lacking on the defensive side, but I did not see anything particularly innovative from Sitake either to try to compensate.

    • “the continuing demise of defense, well put.

What is the cause of the demise? Is it simply that bandwagon fans only know when to cheer if the scoreboard changes? Does it have something to do with “instant gratification”? Is defense dominated by plodding and offense by flash?

Bet a sports psychologist could spend a while explaining.

      • At some point, don’t you have to say it’s scheme, philosophy, etc.? And then if one can admit to that, then it falls on coaching. Pellum is the DC. One can’t argue that they don’t get the athletes. I’m not sure it’s all Pellum’s fault, seems like they just try to outscore everyone and there are no fearsome defenses in the P-12 anyway. Oregon media is going gaga over Adams saving the season, but they could have easily lost to ASU and Stanford with that crappy defense and then at 7-5 we wouldn’t have to hear the “lost season” bullshit and that they really were Natty contenders if Adams hadn’t been injured. That defense is not championship anything. Ask the Beavers offense.

    • I think TCU pulls it out… Although TCU isn’t as good as they have been in the past, this is the weakest Oregon team I’ve seen in awhile. I think with the time to prepare, Patterson will bring it… Don’t forget Oregon almost dropped a game to a 2-9 OSU team at Autzen. Now Oregon basically plays TCU in their home state. Oregon is overrated this year, calling this one now, TCU in a shoot out 45-38

  33. Somebody on pure-orange is saying that McGiven was the one calling plays in the second half of the Civil War. If that’s true, I can see why Andersen wants him calling plays full time next year.

  34. I’m not sure what BYU sees in Sitake. Or Andersen for that matter. I want him to stay for continuity, but the verdict is still out on him as a DC, so why buzz about him as a HC? I think BYU could be in a lot of trouble if they hire him. Now, I was wrong on Shaw and some others, and what I learned from this Andersen situation is that even a great coach can fail if all the pieces don’t fall into place, and visa versa, which making predicting coaches difficult. But if I were BYU I would not take such a huge gamble on Sitake. I’m being objective there.

I feel like BYU wants to stick it to OSU a bit, too, by delaying their decision. Could be payback for OSU plundering the State? Or maybe they just finally realizing they’re considering hiring a guy who has barely been a competent DC.

One thing I know for sure is coach Chad is not following him to BYU.

    • BYU puts themselves in a hard place with the HC having to be in good standing with their church. There just aren’t that many candidates available. Bronco became a robot at BYU and finally realized he had to get the hell out their to be himself before he got to old. They went hard after Whittingham years ago and lost out.

They think of themselves as an elite program because of the suspect National Championship back in 1984 and the QB tradition. Truth is until they can get into a Power 5 conference they have become a backwater program.

Clearly, Sitake is not their first choice, but the church has ways of putting pressure on people, if he had any pride he would turn them down, but I don’t think he can if he does get the offer.

    • I think it is more to do with their circumstance. Their pool of candidates is limited by the criteria of being an active LDS member. That pretty much narrows it to a handful candidates. KWhit doubt will leave the Utah job. Navy coach already turned them down. That leaves them with either the Stanford DC or Kalani as the more prominently positioned candidates (as in holding DC or OC positions). If that fails, they are down to looking towards less prominent coaches like RB coaches or DL coaches like Kaufusi etc

    • Joe Beav show had a scribe from Utah on yesterday, may have answered the question about what BYU sees in Sitake. It sounds a bit like the Riley hire, in that Bronco was apparently not approachable enough and that is an area where Sitake shines.
Add in the “Poly Pipeline” and church requirements and it seems logical for them to have a serious interest in Sitake. As for the lack of HC experience, reading the Salt Lake papers gives one the sense that coaching at BYU is, in large measure, about a church/spiritual calling.

  35. Anyone else heard about the advantages of an unlocked Amazon Fire Stick for watching sports, especially the P12 Net? Someone I know said he can watch any sports channel free with this setup. See link below for youtube video.
