Thanks for the info. I was actually looking at some single game seats in the front row (section K I think?) but wasn’t really sure what that would look like, so good to know, thanks!
One of those CR scheduled games. Hopefully when Tinkle is able to schedule, we’ll see less of these teams. Expect a lot of minutes for the guards. At least they get a game in before DePaul.
Yeah, never was a fan of OOC scheduling by CR and BDC. Tons of HBCUs that are barely D1 (Howard, Coppin St, Maryland Eastern Shore, Grambling, MVSU, Texas Southern, Prairie View A&M, Arkansas Pine Bluff), and home and homes with teams literally no one cares about (Chicago State, Quinnipiac, Towson). I understand that you need to schedule some low major nobodies but the selection always killed me. There are plenty of lower level WCC, MWC, WAC, Big West, and Big Sky bodybag games that are closer to us than Hamden, Connecticut.
Beavers 41, Grambling 9 @ halftime. Tigers with just 3 FG’s and 17 turnovers in the half. IDK if 3 FG’s and 9 pts is a record for futility at Gill but if not it’s gotta be damn close.
At the game with my mother. Impressed with OSU’s passing. They know how to kick it out for a three. Lots of assists to go around. Good hustle on defense. They get sloppy with passing on fast breaks and in transition sometimes.
Craig would be beating these guys by single digits at halftime, and that’s only because Grambling is so small as a team.
Lamar said that he was close in the CW, 13 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. He said if he knew he was that close he would’ve stole a few rebounds from his teammates, with a laugh.
Time to get ready for DePaul (6-3). That game should give us a good indication of how good our team really is. They beat Stanford by 15, but are on a 2 game losing streak so will be wanting a win.
Drove down to Corvallis after a meeting in PDX today so i could find my “BEST AVAILABLE” seats i ordered this year. i don’t know how i ended up in upper section row 19 when i got these the first day the new $199/seat promo was announced – oh well, they will make good Christmas stocking stuffers.
I did like watching Tinkle coach tonight – he is orchestrating every play and some of the player’s movement right now ( a few of them really need it).
GPII and MD are very fluid. Was impressed with both of their awareness on the floor.
Lots of substitutions tonight on all the clock stoppage.
They ran a full court zone press after a couple of made baskets in second half -created a turn over off one of the presses and then fell back into man coverage on another.
Freshman got a few minutes play time (i left when they scored 50 pts)
I feel Tinkle was running this as a live scrimmage and trying a bunch of different combinations and plays. All good!
as GoBeavs82 said, it felt like we were watching a live scrimmage. But that’s the good thing about blowing teams out and good coaching, is that the coach gets to see what he’s working with and give guys game experience. At the end, my guy joked that the game looked like it was being played in the 50s. Slats Gill didn’t allow Black players on his team until 1960, so it could’ve been the case.
Personally, I spent part of the game calling the refs out for good calls. I really flipped my sh*t when Stangel missed that layin to give GPII the triple double, but thankfully Vic finished it up for him. Robbins really has a decent jumper, as long as he follows through. If he short arms it or doesn’t hold the gooseneck, he misses badly (he airballed tonight). But he splashed a few threes and had a nice game shooting.
I didn’t hear anything about Reid’s injury, hope it’s not serious. Never thought that I would be saying that an OSU basketball team needs him, but when he plays smart, he’s an asset.
25 pt favorites? seems way high considering Beavs limited offense
like Miss Valley St, Grambling is awful. All of their losses they’ve been blown out and their 2 wins are against nobodies.
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/2755/grambling-st-tigers
As long as the beavs continue to play good, tough defense, I expect tonight to be a blowout. Go Beavs
Huge blowout from my research!
Grambling stinks. In fact they look to be worse than MVS.
So bad they make you sad.
Tonight @ 7:00 p.m. Pacific. Just in case there’s anyone else out there who weren’t sure about the start time. Go Beavs!
Get your season tickets now before the price jump to $349!
No way you can beat $199 per seat!
Or $249 2015-16
Or $299 2016-17
Or …
Our seat are freaking awesome!
Plural – seats
Where are they at? I was thinking about grabbing some, I assumed they wouldn’t be very good.
Row 1 in the “end zone”. Thought they would be bad due to being on the end but they are really good – clear view of everything!
Thanks for the info. I was actually looking at some single game seats in the front row (section K I think?) but wasn’t really sure what that would look like, so good to know, thanks!
Sure.
Almost game time – not there tonight, share with my cousin – he and his son are there tonight
I will be back on Dec 30.
Per Mama. Brennan officially hired as WR coach by GA. Good news.
Keep this stuff to the football thread below this one for now.
After the basketball game I’ll put up a thread for the coaching search.

Off topic a bit, but I find this thing a bit interesting, it’s like a Craigslist for college basketball scheduling.
The saddest part of your post is that Howard, Coppin St.,Texas Southern and Towson all DEFEATED the Beavs.
OSU Basketball Team ranked 8th in the nation for defense. What a difference a coach can make.
Going much higher after just giving 9 in one half
MBB and WBB both undefeated at Gill this year, as tweeted by our gal Mandy!
Anyone have a Ukrainian link for those of us with DirecTV?
MD finding his shot.
Wow. Grambling is fucking Horrible!
Any links, my normal source doesn’t have it up.
We have no business scheduling shit show games like this. I guess that’s what pumped or record up the last few years but Damn. This is bad.
Agreed. I’d venture to say some D2 teams could easily beat them. I’ve not seen this poor of a team in awhile. Wow they are baaaaaaad lol
33-9? But looks like Grambling plays at the leg humpers next.
Beavers 41, Grambling 9 @ halftime. Tigers with just 3 FG’s and 17 turnovers in the half. IDK if 3 FG’s and 9 pts is a record for futility at Gill but if not it’s gotta be damn close.
Is CR coaching Grambling St?
41-9 at the half! Thats gotta help those national defensive rankings somehow. Tinkle is impressing.
Grambling looks like what I feared the Beavers would before the season started
I still like the complete domination…..god knows this program has lost to many lesser directional schools the last 20 years.
exactly. I hope the beavs run them out of the gym by 50!

I hear Grambling State is a second-half team.
so they’ll only turn the ball over 12 times in the 2nd half?
They look like a no-half team
Fiesta Bowl score!
Better pat these guys down!
GP2 on pace for a triple double. How many have we ever had?
I thought I heard somewhere that it was his dad,
Seems likely. I mean who else? Hurd had a couple close calls I think. Not sure who else could have done it.
Lamar said that he was close in the CW, 13 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. He said if he knew he was that close he would’ve stole a few rebounds from his teammates, with a laugh.
Yes, in 1988 per TV
Oh dear, just checked the score. Oughta be a mercy rule.
Is there a payout in bb as in football for these poor teams agreeing to get thrashed?
yep
Yep…and last year, Coppin State collected some dough and beat the Beavers at the same time. It was something like 40K or so.
Thx
And GP2 has a triple double.
Almost wish Tinkle would leave him in to get 4 more steals, but I rather have GP2 be healthy.
Yep. GP II joins his dad with a triple double. Good company. Good job tonight boys. This one’s been in the bag for awhile
I am praying to baby jesus every night that there are no major injuries, the walkons were comical
Neat Deal. Gary Payton and Gary Payton II, now with the only two triple doubles in OSU history!
Yep … that is SOOO cool.
I guess we hope that his little brother, Gary Payton Jr., is also a basketball player and comes to OSU.
Time to get ready for DePaul (6-3). That game should give us a good indication of how good our team really is. They beat Stanford by 15, but are on a 2 game losing streak so will be wanting a win.
Beav women tomorrow against N. Carolina @ 3:00 on ESPN3
I’m looking forward to that one. Go lady Beavers!

Love that Tinkle is trying to revive the far west classic. Been saying they need to do that for years

That high post entry is going to kill me.
This is a look ahead to the Quinnipiac game at 10am on Sunday, I see that there is no TV listed.
Does anyone know if it will be shown anywhere and, if so, where? Maybe post a link.
Tks
