Beavs return to Goss and great weather! Little wind and temps not likely to drop below 50 even late in the games.
Games Thur,Fri,Sat all on PAC12 Net.

Whoreton’s boys are 1-4 over their last five contests, Beavs are a somewhat Jeckel-n-Hyde 3-2 over the same span.

Plenty of questions:
>Will Nick rejoin the lineup?
>Has Larnach hit his stride at the plate?
>Which set of arms, solid or mediocre, will show up?
>Will Mark Buchanan return to Goss?  How many contraband candy bars will be confiscated?

GO BEAVS!

    • I read awhile back the basketball team he was on was involved in hazing and the coach was dismissed. Was Teagan guilty by association do you know or was he one of the main instigators? Wasn’t it a few years ago that is happened? Seems to me he would have been kicked off the b-ball team if he was a main instigator.

      • Just rumors, and nothing I feel comfortable commenting on given the nature of juvenile records and lack of concrete information.

“The incident that Miller says upended his teenage years took place in December 2015, during a school-sponsored trip to play in a tournament in San Diego.

Miller said he was sitting in bed in his hotel room, watching TV with two teammates when they heard a knock on the door. One of the teammates answered it, then four other teammates burst inside, giggling and laughing.

According to Miller, one of the four boys grabbed the TV remote off the dresser, then all four jumped on him.

Miller said he told police that two of the boys pinned him, face-up, on the hotel mattress, holding down his arms while a third boy held his legs. The fourth thrust the TV remote into his buttocks, Miller said. He was wearing pants.

Anti-gay slurs were being thrown at him, Miller said. He said he managed to squirm away after about two minutes. The four boys, laughing, then got up, high-fived each other and left the room, Miller said.”

Quitoriano was allegedly one of the attackers.

  1. And now for GWH’s in-depth pre-game analysis (which also happens to be my mid- and post-game analysis):

  2. Perfect evening at the ballpark.

Nick was welcomed by all, including the 2b ump who gave a pregame pat on the back.

At least three scouts in attendance, one from the RedSox whose radar gun appeared to show Luke at 93mph. Scout paid attention to Mulholland as well.

Angry will love this, spent a couple innings seated next to a gentleman who was playing chess on his phone while barely watching the game! Charter member of the “down in front” gang??

Oh yes, the highly compensated AD himself was in attendance and failed to intercept my contraband granola bar, though less than 15 feet away while I munched it! Compassion or incompetence?……you decide.

    • The weather was awesome.

Nick changes the whole demeanor of the team.

The chess player was paying more attention to the game than you were.

      Clear bags are stupid.

    • The lineup from last night was nice to see having Madrigal back.
      1-5 is murderer’s row with Kwan/Grenier/Madrigal/Rutschman/Larnach
But there really isn’t much of a drop off 6-9 with Nobach/Malone/Gretler/Armstrong.
And Jack Andersen is hitting .289.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Larnach and Adley flipped in the order. Larnach is more of a base clearing long ball threat, in my opinion, while Adley generally keeps his hitting within the park.
Adley had 5 left on base yesterday.

      • I like that Casey rewarded Armstrong for his outstanding play filling in for Madrigal. Move him to 3B and keep his bat in the line-up. Can really set the table for the top of the order. I think I agree about flipping Larnach and Rutschman. Forces opposing pitchers to pitch to Larnach and not pitch around him.

  3. A few observations on lat nights game. 1.) The Ducks are really weak. I didn’t see one player that would beat out a Beaver player at any position. Pitching is ok, but they’re helpless at the plate.

2.) Horton has got to be on thin ice with UO Admin err…Phil and at 350+ lbs that’s not a good place to be. I think he did manage to sneak lots of candy bars into Goss.

3.) Game day management needs to relocate the field microphone. A few “fans” were on the home plate ump all night. It got really old whining about every pitch. The announcers even commented on the “lack of credibility’ as the “fan” wanted every call regardless of where it was in the strike zone. Not a good look for the Beavs to the casual tv viewer. Did not earn the platitude “knowledgable fans” cliché from the announcers.

4.) Is there a square inch of Goss that is not for sale and branded to some donor? Press box, locker room even the dug outs??? How much do I donate for the “Pettibonehead” on deck circle or water cooler?

  4. Malone solo shot to right. Beavs up 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th.

    Pitchers dual today.

Game is on the Pac12 website for those stuck watching softball

  5. Casey and the Pac12 network play by play guy must read Angrybeavs.
Larnach and Rutschman are flipped in the order(pays off as Larnach gets pitched to instead of around, and ends up working the count to get hit by a pitch and load the bases for Adley.(who sac flies 2 home)
Commentator calls the top of our lineup “the closest thing to murderer’s row you’ll find in college baseball”

    2 out, 2 on, 1 out.
    Bottom 6th

  6. 2-1 final, good guys. Sacrifice fly scores one, then a strikeout by Mulholland for the save. Fehmel with the win, 7? innings.

  7. Brenda Tracy’s latest
(Full disclosure, after the TQ signing I kindof agree. Of course we don’t know every detail that went into that decision, but at face value it makes Ed Ray’s comments last June ring hollow)

“I will always be appreciative for what Oregon State did for me & the role they’ve played in my path to healing, but I’ve been really disappointed in some of their decisions over the last year. I know they can do better, but it appears as if they don’t want to.

      • Especially given that there is only speculation that TQ was involved…
no facts at this point because the names have not been disclosed. Apparently, Ms Tracy doesn’t mind jumping to conclusions and rushing to judgement. When the facts come out and if TQ was involved, the beavs will rescind their offer. Until the facts are released, no one should rush to judgement. Maybe Tracy should spend more time advocating for victims as opposed to a knee jerk reaction based on conjecture.

  8. I watched Stanford vs zona tonight and they are scary good. Zona ace shut them down for six innings and then Stanford exploded for 8 runs in next two innings. They hit the leather off the ball….

    • Stanford is really good. Being that Beavs have them at home makes me feel a little better. It will be a series that determines the PAC champion. Hope I’m wrong, but Stanford is the more consistent team. Beavs lack in defense (errors are high) and starting pitching depth (no real Sunday starter).

  9. Another in state recruit(2019 this time) is likely to give a verbal pledge either this weekend or next. Not much more I can say at this point.

  10. Thorough ass-kicking going on against the Quacks. I’m only harsh because of course during the first game the numbnut P-12 Network announcers had to say that if Duckie could win the series they HAVE to be back in the tournament conversation. Well they won’t and no they don’t. Time for Horton to retire next to a Golden Corral and call his career good.

  11. Beavs bust out the brooms, 12-5 final. Tyler Malone has homered in 5 straight games.

and the fail blazers get swept. Good weekend

  12. Totally random. Jerry Pettibone just friend requested me on facebook.
I’m now friends with Dennis Erickson and Jerry. Not their parody accounts either.

  13. Anybody know anything about or care about the senior transfer PG, Tinks is pursuing? All time assist leader for mid-major Samford, Christen Cunningham. The Beavs had good luck with the previous Cunningham.

  14. Took a look at the 10 day forecast for the OSU spring game. Sunny and nice pretty much every day, except for the 3 days around the spring game which show rain showers. Luck O….

  15. Funny clip from John Oliver tonight about our Secratary of the Interior, who repeatedly has claimed he is a Geologist. But really, he only studied Geology while on a football scholarship, while attending…..wait for it…….university of oregon.
