Canzano is all over Scott on Twitter, and I have to say he’s right on this one. It doesn’t seem to be getting much discussion on AB.
Here‘s a comprehensive story.
He’s even made a video about the issue.
It’s rare I will share Canzano material, but if he’s doing the right thing then he deserves the clicks, IMO. In this case, Scott and the Conference are being exposed for years of what appears to be collusion and corruption. The game in general has an integrity problem, and the Pac-12 seems to want to compete with the SEC to lead that charge.
If it’s anything like the previous link you so “importantly” linked and promised was important… It’s a big nothing burger full of emotional crap posing as reason.
Why?
Considering the source, if it has a point, you can condense it to two or three sentences and just tell us what you think it means.
Or… you can lik something I will never read because I was stupid eough to think the link from earlier today had value simply because you said so.
*link something
*enough
crapzano doesn’t deserve Shit. He’s a two faced hypocrite. I have zero respect for a guy that says one thing and does another and then lies about it. He’s not even man enough to take ownership for his actions.
MMMMMMM…… Burgers!
Good call.
If you have evidence of corruption or collusion, bay all means, provide it.
I guaran-goddamn-tee it your links won’t provide shit.
You’re staring at incompetence leaking into a vacuum, nothing more. Trying to imply intent is just about the dumbest thing I can imagine with this absolute void in info. I think Dixon went to Pitt, if that helps.
Another really dumb moment (or whole) in the whole “Leach texts officials with dumb ideas” narrative is that I don’t recall Leach voluntarily benching the kid who wasn’t ejected from the game because of the call that was reported.
Sure, everyone reported the later call that was done incorrectly. But there was no reporting about central command on that call. If anything, it seemed like a make-up call for the one where Aunt Patty didn’t voluntarily yank his player because the officials had obviously got the call obviously wrong.
Assigning – and mis-assigning – motive is a very common behavior that detracts from productive conversation. For most people, it is an effective distraction and they don’t advance to the next question of “how are you going to prove the intent you assigned to the action?” Which is difficult to do, particularly for somebody as lazy as JC.
Larry Scott probably needs to go for a number of reasons. His lack of awareness of the replay protocol may be one of those, but that issue alone is not enough for me to hold my nose and read JC….
If JC is doing good work then it deserves recognition.
Na…fuck em.
Agree, F dolphin boy. He’ll reel you in with a story and then kick you in the balls again.
“Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” -Hanlon’s razor
Scott needs to go if only because he’s run his course. 10 years sounds like like a nice round number for term limit. It gives enough time for an administrator to implement the next step in the process. Having a single, overarching goal for the next decade is for someone else to direct.
The search should start now and his term should end next March (or April, if the new hire wishes to give 180 days).
Look at it this way:
Luke can be a Supreme Court Justice, but he can’t play in MLB.
So what is it this yahoo is trying to prove with this emotional plea to stupid?
Disagree. Luke knew what he was accused of was wrong because he was taught it was wrong and there would always be repercussions. So his conscience wouldn’t allow him to be such. A Supreme Court Justice who attended entitlement prep school and learned that repercussions are selectively applied when you are special doesn’t now know right from wrong.
To clarify: I believe Luke to be wrongly accused; but he would still defer to majority public opinion.
Did somebody say something? I must have been dozing….
Years of being wrong has taught you at least one thing.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Your panties are wadded up again, and we are on our period. Also, take our meds.
Wait…
I need meds because I’m on a period with you?
Do you know what a period is?
Something after a sentence?
Damn that was a real stretch to get to that one!
Just once in a while could you say something of substance?
See, say, hear nothing.
Got it.
Man, college football is in trouble.
Reminds me of this discussion 7 years ago.
http://angrybeavs.com/football/4412
This past season is the first time I have not watched games in years. Some of that is how bad the Beavs are, but the refs and this commissioner are also part of it. The Ducks moving up in the polls after a loss was another bizarre moment this year. I feel the thread of integrity that was left is gone. It’s hard to take time and write meaningful pieces for AB when the sport itself is sapping my strength to watch it.
I’d argue moving up in the polls after losing to a higher ranked team is actually evidence of integrity.
I’ve long argued that if I am the 10th ranked team in the country and I lose to the #4 ranked team in the country the worst that should happen is I stay #10. After all, if the rankings were correct I was suppose to lose that game. If I take them to OT or lose in a very close fashion moving up also makes sense. The only result that doesn’t make sense is dropping in the polls (unless it was just a crazy blow out loss).
I can buy that argument
what I don’t buy is oregon remaining ranked after losing their 2nd game, while only managing 1 yard in the 1st half. 1 yard? I don’t even think the Beavs could manage that level of suck. And this is a team that is supposed to have a Heisman trophy candidate/future #1 draft pick?
Their 1 meaningful win was because the Husky kicker pulled a Chokair. Should be a 3 loss team
That, too. WSU destroyed them. Should be a 3 loss team.
I don’t remember what else happened the weak of the Stanford game. I guess you could argue the move up was justified depending what other teams around them did, but I just personally have a problem with a team losing and moving up. This “good loss” nonsense is an oxymoron used to justify the placement of certain teams where the NCAA wants them for the playoff picture.
That is an argument against the rankings system in general and I’d agree with that argument.
But I disagree that teams should always drop if they lose. If you lose to a higher ranked team that is not evidence that you should be ranked lower. It just isn’t.
For the record, I am not defending Oregon being ranked now or at all really.. I just find the whole ranking system lacks integrity and find that one example of Oregon moving up after a close loses vs a higher ranked Stanford team to be both defensible and a sign of integrity. Rather Oregon (or Stanford) should have been ranked where they were prior to that game to begin with is a different debate.
I’d like to see a system know where there are no rankings until week 6 or so. I know it would hurt ratings but you see a team like Notre Dame always starting highly ranked, they lose 2 games they are still ranked. It’s all the big programs started ranked when we don’t know how good they are. It’s all based on previous years, recruiting classes, and the “experts”. Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about the Beavers ranking.
Meh, I don’t really care if the AP and coaches want to do polls every week but the committee should not release any rankings at all. They should just get in a room after the season and make their selections. Like the basketball committee.
That said until its an 8 team tourney with 6 conference champs the committee can never get it right anyway.
Krol, spot on. There should be no ranking until mid season.
3rd and 54
You said “Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about the Beavers ranking.” You got that right!!
On the original topic. I think Scott should be fired but honestly have a difficult time getting worked about the integrity of a sport when we have no integrity in anything done in this country.
When the country is broken it only makes sense that sports will follow suit. Its a sign of the times and its only gonna get worse. At the end of the day money is the only thing that matters and USC is worth more than WSU so……
AngryPatriots.com?
Americans are completely united in beliefs….that it’s the other side that’s ruining things
There are no sides.
That’s just what you’re told to believe.
There’s too much money at stake in men’s NCAA sports to expect integrity.
Scott’s main job assignment was probably to negotiate a tv deal that would increase PAC revenue as it got left behind by the other conferences. He seemed to do a poor job at that.
Taking a sanctimonious stance on Scott’s lack of awareness and/or dishonesty about replay procedures, as if “integrity of the sacred game of football” is threatened strikes me as humorous, especially from someone like Canzano who has such an uncritical fealty to the alter of Knight/UO. .
Without integrity you have the WWF and boxing, and NCAA football is nowhere near those levels, so it does have some integrity left. Most people don’t believe outcomes are rigged before kickoff. It’s at the point where that’s changing, though, and this latest scandal is just another blow.
wtf….wwf is legit, real stuff….almost like the nc2a.
MBB team takes a roster hit as Payton Dastrup is denied his waiver to play this year without sitting 1 year, after his transfer from BYU. The team was pretty confident he would be granted the waiver.
Not so fast, my Beaver friends
The Duck coach would have had it approved…….and get an extra year to boot.
A lot of backlash against Canzano, but my stance is if he’s doing the right thing to support it. He has more clout than us. Calling out the PAC is the right thing to do.
He’s a huge hypocrite and rarely does the right thing, so I get it that everyone is shocked, but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while. It’s possible to support him on this one issue and not support him on the others. Then again, I’m politically moderate/independent, and what I’ve noticed is most people seem unable to make these types of distinctions and prefer recreational outrage over what is best. Bummer.
You must have a lot of clout yourself if a man like JC invited you for coffee. Oh wait, never happened, another lie
Sure. Must suck to have just written that.
http://angrybeavs.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Untitled-1.jpg
Lol, thats gotta hurt. Lets wait for the “thats photoshoped, i can tell by the pixels” reply.
A@A is probably Dolphin Boy himself… and smart as Dolphin Boy with his, “I never did that,” thinking.
Doh!
First time there has ever been proof of any of his claims. And I still have my doubts lol
You probably also believe the earth is flat and Bigfoot exists.
Did you know that nobody thought the world ws flat until the 17th century when intelligent people were fed up with stupid people and used the flat earth theory as a pejorative, much as you used it here?
Apparently some of those stupid, closed-minded people thought they were being picked on, so they lashed back by believing the very lie that was used against them as a metaphor for their level of moronity… moronness… moronclivity… whatever.
So… FAKE NEWS!!!!
I would imagine a blind squirrel would be easy pickings for predators if it managed to survive more than a couple weeks after birth.
I think there’s a chance the Beavs pick up another transfer. Guy named Jermani Brown who was a 4* ATH from Calabasas HS(Tristan Gebbia) and was most recently at Boise St. He spent his senior year of HS in Virginia, it appears. Was a Rivals top 100 guy.
Anyway, not saying anything is iminent, but definitely a guy I’m keeping an eye on. Has his release from Boise St and there does appear to be some mutual interest. Stay tuned…
Curious how long it will take the message board thieves at Blitz and Sedge to find this and post it there?
I’m guessing it will be there within the hour
Figures Mike Singer would be first. No surprise there.
Hi Mike! Or Mike’s message board minions!
Why care?
If your conscience is clear, they can suck it.
I just like messing with Mike
Was actually surprised he is still awake in Florida to read AB. Must have insomnia.
Go to sleep, Mike
Maybe we should go behind a paywall…
He should at least donate to AB as a courtesy.
Brown didnt have an OSU offer out of highschool, but he did have a Wisconsin offer. Tibesar is our main connection to him, bit he also knows Gebbia from HS.
Would likely be a CB if we were to land him
He’d have to sit out 2019 though correct?
Or is a waiver possible?
I don’t know the specifics, but assuming he is just leaving Boise St now, and would need to enroll somewhere for Winter term, he wouldn’t meet the requirements to play next year. But there are always loopholes or special circumstances, so I can’t rule anything out.
The 1 year not counting summer thing is so silly. The idea is that they need to take time to ensure academics are in order. I transferred while in college from a JC quarter system school to a 4 year semester school and finally back to the quarter system at OSU it didn’t take a year to get everything squared away.
1 term and good academic standings (say 45 credits per academic year or something similar that shows you are on pace to graduate) and you should be able to play the after 1 term at your new school.
The reality is that the transfer rules have nothing to do with academics. It’d be nice if the NCAA would just admit as much.
Keep in mind, this transfer situation around Brown is very new, and only in the very preliminary stages. He does have interest in OSU though. Hopefully our coaching staff can find a way to bring him in, but as of right now, everything is up in the air.
There’s a poll up to resolve this very important issue:
https://twitter.com/angrybeavs/status/1054971579371868160
If it wasn’t for Nicebeaver, I would have very little recruiting info (Thanks Nicebeaver). It would be nice if BeaversEdge would reciprocate a little.
Seriously, his comments here and the included Twitter feed are literally the only recruiting news I see.
You mean we have our own “cheesy weasels” to deal with? (Bonus points for anyone who gets that reference)
Off topic, but Wayne Tinkle should keep growing out the beard. He’s make a really intimidating Santa Clause
https://twitter.com/BeaverMBB/status/1054821707028942848
Intimidating? Yeah, word recently from DFT was that Tinkle was on hand to help subdue rowdy Arkansas fans who had been throwing beer and jeers at the Beavs bullpen during the CWS.
Oh, and he did make his first halfcourt shot last night to win free books for one student. One of the few marketing ploys recently which seemed smart.
The halfcourt shot was also backwards. Not sure why he practices that as much as he does, but he can hit it pretty regularly.
No kidding. I met him at the WSU game in Corvallis and got a photo with him. I’m 6’-3”, 200 lbs and the dude made me look like a child.
Wait until you stand next to Jack
…Wilson. He’s like a giant Clark Kent.
Our luck, he plays like Lois Lane.
My wife said he looks sexy……guess whos not going to any games this year.
Canzano is killing Larry Scott on Twitter.
Is he hunting wabbits?
Should we be ve-wee ve-wee quiet?
Did someone hack your account? I forgot that guy still existed.
BASEBALL:
If you’ve got 36 minutes to spare, here’s the season in review. No mention of the phony “beaking” suspension for Casey.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgTAULLW-0g
Thank you for the link oob! It was nice to rewatch what champions look like. What an incredible group of disciplined hitters. Pitching will be electric this spring with all of those young arms.
Casey is such a influential and quotable coach. He should be in the AD role and start coaching all of the other coaches.
UnBeaverable and Totally Freaking Awesome Retrospective of the 2018 season. It gave me goose bumps sitting here watching it! Thanks for posting it.
You may have seen the Melquise Stovall tweet in the recruiting feed. He was a 4* APB/WR out of HS and had a ton of offers. Was a USC commit, but eventually ended up at Cal. Played as a True Freshman and Sophomore, but then left Cal when he realized he didn’t fit that Beauner offense and went JUCO for 1 year.
He’s immediately available to play 2 for 2 and would be receptive to an OSU offer. He knows several guys on the team already, and has talked with at least one of our WRs about the idea of playing together.
So….Do the Beavs make the move? Scholarship spots are slim and he doesn’t address an immediate need, unless some other players end up leaving in the offseason. Could play as a RB or WR, but WR is his more natural position.
I’m always for acquiring talent if possible, so I’m hopeful OSU pulls the trigger.
That’s a tough call. On one hand its nice to have talent and depth but as we see this year with a good group of offensive weapons, missing pieces on the d-line, backers, dbs, etc we can’t go much to stop teams. With Clark, Gould, Irish, Taylor, and a few young tightends in the mix, I’d rather see us get help on the line. I know the offensive weapons will be utilized more with better qb play but if we can’t get any defensive pressure I don’t think it matters what we have on the offensive side.
With that being said, bring him to OSU! Highly talented guys will attract other highly talented guys. It’s great to hear he wants to come to Corvallis. Thanks for the insight and researching him.
Obviously I left out current contributors like Jefferson, Hodgins, etc. I was mentioning those other guys as future additions to the offense.
Does he add value as a ST in return game? That seems like something OSU could use (?).
I agree it’s an interesting decision whether or not to offer given other need’s and also not having too many short term transfers and getting good HS players that might be at OSU for 4 years…
Regarding current committs/recruits for defense, are you seeing sound tacklers?
Coming out of highschool, coaches were talking about Stovall as the type of guy who is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. I think you have to find room for him however possible.
We have a ton of WRs currently, but only 1 or 2 who should play over Stovall, and that’s being generous.
So maybe a few guys will be hitting up the transfer list?? I am happy to see the recruiting commitments but there is a strong possibility some of these guys will play sparingly. Lots of room for guys to come in and be better than them if we get the type of recruits we need to really start winning some games.
Isn’t Clark a bit tall to be a slot guy? Maybe I’m wrong there.
I guarantee I could be the KR and add five yards per catch versus what Flemings has done
Or just let it go through the end zone and add 10+ to what he does….he’s going to down the ball on the 3 yard line with his knee the way he crouches when he catches the ball….
I was referring to letting it go through the end zone or fair catching everything to get the ball on the 25. Of all the returns he’s made, I can only recall two that made it past the 25. Most don’t even make it to the 20.
Someone has to replace Timmy Hernandez. Might as well be him.
Trevon Clark would be the most likely player to fill in for Hernandez.
Stovall was one of the most versatile guys in his class, so RB or Slot receiver would be options for him
Interesting statement in the tribune article linked below:
Smith: We’re going to try to sign 25 (players) and give help to every position group — the D-line and O-line in particular.
So if they plan on filling out the class they have more room than previously thought.
Good find with the Eggers article. 25 is definitely more than I was predicting, based off outgoing serniors and available scholarships. Must mean there are a few more guys leaving the program for various reasons this offseason.
If you count the 12 current verbals plus the 4 transfers, we’re looking at 9 more guys to add still. That would leave plenty of options to add JC guys and still take some more freshman.
Right now, our class is very heavy on the defensive numbers.
Only offensive guys are Clark/Gebbia/Madison/Musgrave. I think we will add another TE.
Yeah, I am actually surprised Patterson hasn’t committed to OSU already.
Side question: What is going on with Nathan Lamb? Did OSU stop recruiting him when Gebbia transferred? Not that his offer sheet blows me away but he remains uncommitted and did visit.
We don’t seem to be too serious about 2019 QB recruiting anymore, now that Gebbia is on campus. i think the only way they take a 2019 QB is if someone they were really high on decides to decommit from their current school, or if they really think they can develop a guy like Lamb or Eget into a future star. Doesn’t seem to be a high priority at this point, and they look to be narrowing their QB focus on 2020 guys now.
Maybe I’m wrong but I think some of those transfers can count against previous classes and won’t count against us for 2019.
Good point, I think Gebbia and Roberts could potentially be counted against the 2018 class, if there were still scholarships available in that class. The team doesn’t give out their official scholarship numbers, so it’s a little bit of a guessing game. Also, should count against 2018.
I know Gumbs and Lindsey are not part of the 2018 class, and then we also have a couple of guys from earlier recruiting classes who may show up after the season (Gray/Bowcutt) who would have to count toward a future class, depending on when they show up. Gray will likely be a 2019 guy now. Lindsey is currently a walk-on but will get a scholarship in Winter term. I think Gumbs falls into the same category. Since both guys are having to be counted forward, I think it’s safe to say we hit the 25 limit for 2018 with Gebbia and Roberts joining the team.(still not sure if they both fit into 2018 though)
As you can see, it’s tricky to track all of this stuff, so I don’t spend alot of time trying.
The new scholarship count system is incredibly confusing. I think we get back the spot for Audette and the other fall no show. However, I read that teams won’t get spots back for non-qualifiers anymore. We should be less likely to take chances on Simi Kuli’s moving forward.
I think Francois was the other. So maybe those ended up going towards Roberts and Gebbia? Seems like a fair trade. But yes, I did read the non-qualifiers are really risky because you don’t get that scholarship number back when counting towards filling your 25. Audette and Francois I think were voluntary defections, rather than academic, so we should have gotten them back.
Eggers interview with Smith. https://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/410196-309730-oregon-state-coach-smith-im-still-optimistic
I felt something strange after reading the interview. It wasn’t the homemade chinese food. It felt a little like hope.
Have someone pull your finger to rule out gas.
Looks like Blount is in concussion protocol and won’t be available against CO. Maybe I’m in the minority but I’ve really come to appreciate and admire the guy. That dude plays hard and appears to give it everything he has.
Ya but you know Luton has had such a lustrous career
Heisman-worthy!!!
You can’t fault Blount’s effort. He is giving all he has, sadly it’s not enough to produce at this level. It’s too bad he’s not a good as his older brother LaGarrete. JB
The hit on him at the end of the half looked like targeting to me. Wasn’t even reviewed. He got hit in the side of the head with the crown of the helmet. Snapped his head sideways. Nasty.
And I agree that he plays hard and bounces back after tough hits.
It was reviewed and the player was thrown out of the game. In fact it happened twice to him and both players were ejected.
The 1st targeting hit put Blount out of the game, so the 2nd targeting hit was against Colletto. Both were blatant and both players were ejected.
Beavs are likely to offer JUCO CB Jaylen Watson from Ventura College in the near future.
Currently looks like he has 1 other offer, Florida Atlantic (according to 247)
https://247sports.com/Player/Jaylen-Watson-46043559/
They have to get play-makers with high end speed on defense in addition to linemen. The Beavs are giving up 100 points more than the next closest P-12 team! The offense won’t be the issue, but things have to move up on defense next season and beyond.
Great play-makers would potentially make our D a great one. But we’ve seen great players play in a system which doesn’t use their abilities before.
The point differential you refer to is not explained by personnel, other than maybe putting nobody on the field… which isn’t far from what it’s looked like at times.
JUCO WR commit Clark decommits. Looks like he recently picked up an offer from Cal.
On the plus side, we don’t have to wonder which position he’ll play next year
You think this is from the losing going on or the log jam at WR?
Log jam is a drinking game Kavanaugh used to play.
Devil’s Triangle is a drinking game, according to sworn testimony by our newest Supreme Court Justice.
Log jam is what Brett, Bitch Boy’s newest Supreme Court Toy, gets when he thinks about naked women who voluntarily give themselves to him.
Lying under oath is no problemo under Mango Mussolini’s time.
It’s unhelpful to compare Dumbshit to Mussolini. Mussolini managed to make the trains run on time. And Mussolini made good on his promise to drenare la palude, not become a part of it, wallow in it and (something I never thought I could say about anyone before now) rage while being the machine itself.
http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/can-donald-trump-be-called-a-fascist-a-1122035.html
In short, Bitch Boy can’t be Mussolini. He’s not smart enough or motivated enough to be an actual populist. He’s a spoiled rich brat who would rather play golf… all the time… on our dime. If you take what he’s actually done as POTUS, you could make a case that he’s most like Yahya Jammeh in policy and practice. But that’s about as good as it gets for Dumbshit.
As I’ve said before, I have faith that the US can survive a weak leader like him. It would take two or three like him to do serious enough damage to this democracy before we see it weakened enough for someone like him (only intelligent) to step in and take the country on a fascist ride.

Nicebeaver, any insight on Charles Mincy Jr? I thought there was mutual interest but haven’t heard anything for awhile on him.
He moved to the east coast before the season and it’s as if we just gave up on him and stolped recruiting him. Last I heard, we weren’t in contact with him anymore
PHIL STEELE REPORT (#115 Oregon State @ #38 Colorado, 10/27/2018)
In last year’s matchup in Corvallis with interim HC Cory Hall making his debut for the Beavers, the Buffs (-10) needed a TD pass w/1:34 remaining to escape with a 3 point victory (Oregon St 569-385 yd edge). The Beavers won the first two Pac-12 meetings (2013 & 2014) but have dropped the last 3 including a 47-6 hammering last time here (+17.5). Following their first 2 defeats of the season the past 2 weeks on the road against USC and Washington where the Huskies scored the final 13 points in the 27-13 victory (Colorado just 15 first downs & 263 yards), the Buffs return to Boulder where they’ve outscored their opponents by 20 ppg on the year. The Beavers meanwhile appeared to be sleepwalking following their midseason bye as Cal handed them their 13th consecutive Pac-12 defeat in a 49-7 blowout win (Oregon St outgained 539-241). Oregon St is 1-5-1 ATS as a conference away dog and MacIntyre is 13-6 ATS as a home favorite here with Colorado. WR Shenault missed last week and is questionable while Oregon St QB Blount is doubtful so Jake Luton will get another start.

If Larry Scott still needs to go, he should consider a laxative and add fiber to his diet.
He should just start using a cezve.
Worked for me.
Rocky mountain low for the Beavs today. (Apologes to John Denver, good singer, bad pilot.).
