Oregon looks soft. If the opposing D lays the wood to them, they will turn it over. DAT, Mariota and Tyner are not durable at all (injury prone). And they lost another RB to an ankle injury (Addison?)
Oh, did Byron Marshall get hurt? Tyner looks far from a 5* running back out their. Dcks moved the ball, but also turning it over with fumbles and failing to convert 4th downs. they also are letting Arizona move the ball fairly easily. 28 in a half great.
Clear indication that the Kelly era is over. Kelly never let his guys get complacent against a subpar opponent.

Best line of the day from my daughter. When I texted her that I was surprised that Huff wasn’t on the sideline crying she replied, “it’s only for the Rose Bowl, no reason to cry about it!”
And Florida loses to an FCS school today. Will miss playing in a bowl game for the first time since 1990.
Duck fans are already jumping off of bridges. My only hope, as a concerned citizen and humanitarian, is that Lane county has enought bridges for everyone.
Just got home from a long ride to find the Ducks got crushed. Fascinating. I wonder how long it is before they call for the coach’s head. I bet it’s started already.
Not only are some already calling for the head of Helfrich, one guy on O-live even says, “You can’t compare Helfrich’s sideline demeanor to Mike Riley’s. At least, Riley shows some sign of emotion and excitement during games.”
Others then chime in, saying Helfrich acts like a ” tired and polite administrator observing the game as if he has nothing better to do. ” Hmmmm, sounds a bit like what we’ve seen from our own MR!
It’s a shame that Oregon State hasn’t proven capable of doing any of the things on offense or defense that Stanford and Arizona were doing successfully in dominating Oregon. The Ducks look as vulnerable going into Civil War as they have in years.
I can’t imagine a Chip Kelly led Oregon team looking anything like they did today against Arizona. Will be interesting to see if Mark Helfrich can keep up the level of success they’ve had over the next couple of years, or if they’ll start trending back towards the Mike Bellotti level of success.
Why do you say that? Wulff was 9-40 with a max of 4 wins in his career.
Leach is a .620 career win %, and 10 straight winning seasons.
I don’t see why you’d diss Leach and tout Wulff. Leach is using Wulff’s recruiting classes and after one year is winning with them. Once he gets his own guys, I think WSU will be pretty good (if he doesn’t abuse someone and get canned first).

Leach wasted no time in alienating a lot of players, including their best player in Marquess Wilson, and Jeff Tuel as well. He benched/suspended a lot of talent to make a point. He really didn’t play to the personnel and strengths that he had, instead implementing his own schemes and plans.
He’s recruited well and as you said, I expect him to continue to improve as he’s able to bring in more talented guys, and guys that fit his schemes better. But still, there’s no question in my mind that they were far worse last year than they would have been.
Specifically, Wulff’s players played hard and gave 110%, all the time. Even when they were an awful 1-2 win team they still came out fired up every game, and usually could hang in for anyone for at least a quarter before their dismal talent exposed itself. I remember admiring that compared to a lot of our flat, uninspired Beav performances.

Chip Kelly was the same way, and it works in college ball.
It may work, but with a team as devoid of talent as the Cougs were, no question it hurt them in the short term.
2012 was “the year” for the Cougs under Wulff, and they wound up having to punt it away with Leach coming on board. In the long term, I think it’ll pay dividends. I think Leach has much higher upside. But I think it cost them a decent season last year.
OK, I fact checked and he did not inherit a trainwreck. His first couple years were disastrous. But he was clearly improving and the Tuel/Wilson connection was legit. I stand by them being bowl eligible in 2012.
Wulff’s overall 4 year record speaks for itself. 9-40 in 4 years. 4-32 in the Pac-12. In 2011 in his FOURTH year they went 4-8 and 2-7 in conference play. I’ll give you one thing. The 4 wins they achieved that year was one less win than they had in the previous 3. But imo, it didn’t warrant a 5th year. Wazzu wasn’t willing to wait another year and it obvious they made the right choice in cutting Wulff loose and going a different direction.
I think Oregon’s loss today nearly guarantees a Civil War win, as they will be angry, motivated, and not complacent.
That being said, if we win tonight (coin flip IMO) and find a way to pull the upset next week, we’d not only beat the Ducks but also finish above them in the PAC12 standings.

Of all of our commits, It would be interesting to count how many of them Do Not have any other BCS offers
I’m telling you guys. All these late games has provided a big open timeframe for recruiting. These had better be some solid under the radar performers. Best class he’s had. No excuses not to in my book.
I did mention before the season that Helfrich is not an innovator, the best he could do was manage the systems already in place. We see the result, the end of the Ducks as a national powerhouse. It happened a year before I expected though.
They’ve lost TWO games. Geezus christ. They’re pulling in good, fast recruits, correct? How about waiting for some consecutive, non – BCS seasons first? I imagine Mariota returns next year (?) because this season is unsatisfying.
Wouldn’t we love if 8-2 was an under achievement for OSU?
All that said, I do think their emotional responses to recent losses is Un Kelly like and could be problematic for them if it becomes a pattern. THEN I think the descent would start.
8-2 was an underachievement for the Beavs last year, and I didn’t like it so much. It was okay, but there was a lot left on the table in those two losses.
fwiw – Eastern Washington barely pulled out a win vs. Portland State. I wonder if EW’s coach would consider coaching at Oregon State – although I fear Riley will fossilize in place.
Think we’ll see any of the “trickery” Riley showed earlier this season? RB passes, throwback to Mannion, etc. or some other unexpected play? Maybe the “bull backfield” with Wynn at FB, Anderson at RB?!?
I’d like to see Cooks in the backfield deep with a pitchout like they did with James Rodgers in 07(?).
Redundantly, I again repeat my request for some carries for Brown….
so let me ask this. Why in the fuck are our defensive backs playing their receivers 10 yards off the line of scrimmage with a QB making his first career start? Can someone explain it to me because I fail to understand this logic.
Hey! The coach looking more depressed than Tony Soprano didn’t mean anything! He just hates losing and was masterminding those fails as part of his genius game plan.
Fire DeCareLess NOW and have the new AD pick a new head coach!!! Riley is a bad joke and has tanked the last half of the season and doesn’t care with his hopes of a Heart O’ Dallas Bowl. He has hid chances and always fell short. He is getting worse and can’t recruit worth shit. NEXT!!!! Blow up this BDC-Riley crapfest!!!!!
Playing a NW rival at home, and to come out SOOOO flat…… This is ridiculous!!
I guess either the players collect themselves and put up some kind of fight, or this is going to be super embarassing. Of course, Riley is never embarassed…..doesnt care, obviously.
Did I just see what I thought I saw. It’s 4th down and Riley sends in the kicking them. He’s standing there and suddenly realizes he’s holding some paper in his hand So he starts looking at the paper like WTF is this and then realizes — Oh, we’re kicking.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the only reason he’s holding that paper is because someone pointed out last week that all he was doing was standing there with his hands behind his back (with no paperwork) and the Beavs were on offense.
In other words someone else was calling the plays.
Mentioned this on the other thread, now that I see Riley with stocking cap tonight I’m more inclined to think that, at the 2:22 point, we have Riley playing grab ass with Banker.
Thanks for the Sun Bowls, but it’s time for Riley and Co. to go. Makes me sad, but this is just depressing this year… and there is no reason to think it will get better.
I haven’t found any bright spot. Special teams…NOT! Offense….NOT! Defense…..NOT! Punting….NOT Play calling…..NOT! Maybe Jessica Mendoza on the sideline….
wow. just wow. I think they’ve mailed it in. Totally quit. Zero emotion. I hope they get booed off the field at halftime and those that paid for their tickets don’t come back. This is utterly fucking pathetic. This is on your head Bob DeCareless you prick. I’ve got better things to do than watch horrible football.
This was the first game ever, in 4+ years of writing this blog, that I didn’t waste a second of my life drafting a pre-game thread (usually put these out on Tuesdays). I just had nothing to say after watching that Riley video. The one everyone said I overreacted to….
Screw You BDC! Screw you Ed Ray! Screw you Riley! Cowards, all of them!! FIRE these fools! No accountability!!! Canzano, please fire the final salvo! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!
I flipped over to Boise/SDSU on CBS college sports. 14-7 Aztecs in the 2nd quarter. I’m done watching our joke of a football team this year. I can only hope that wholesale changes are made to the coaching staff when the season is over.
“Just when I think this can’t get any funnier, I realize that the beavos have recruits in the stands. 3* RB Harris Ross, 3* FB/OLB Devante Downs, and 3* OT Kaleb McGary (6’8″ 280). Think you will sign any of them to LOIs?”
BDC and Riley both need to go. Retire, no one else will want them. Not even Willamette. Beyond pathetic. The team has given up on Riley. Wholesale changes need to happen to put an end to this crap. Ed Ray you are a bitch to not fire BDC tomorrow!
I felt that Sark should’ve called a timeout before the punt there. He was smart enough to know the Beavs would hike it with plenty to spare on the play clock though
Put Cody in there. It’s senior night…let the guy play. Mannion is done. I’m so sick of watching him play. Wasn’t the right call to play him over Katz, and he’s only been good against bad teams since.
Curious how what out record in all black units. Games that come to mind: Sac St, EWU, Stanford, a cpl CWs. I know it doesn’t matter but I don’t remember seeing much of a win in the all Blacks.
Finish the half with -1 yards rushing on 9 attempts. 109 yards passing with 2 INT. As bad a half of Beaver football as I’ve seen and I’ve seen alot of bad Beaver football.
We don’t need what she saysand she is full of it. We can spend 2 million and do a 5 year deal like most places which can be extended only if deserved. What we don’t need is a lame duck coach who id regressing for another 10-12 years. What a nightmare. FU BDC!!!
I said she should leave with Riley, and that she’s a lazy journalist asking questions pre-determined to a negative outcome that support her own conclusion.

Riley has quit. As much as it pisses me off, he’s DONE. And now that Stevenson has completely grenaded the locker room chemistry, this team won’t follow him anymore. We are lucky Washington isn’t starting Price. With the mood of the players and coaches, it’s basically our beat chance for another win this season.
Interesting. Looking like maybe this dude knew what he was talking about????
It’s really confusing right now. I mean the Beavers are not passing the eyeball test athletically against the Huskies right now. In fact, the Huskies look like the best team the Beavers have played all year. There’s something going on psychologically with the Beavs. Riley and staff have lost this team and someone on his staff needs to go at the end of the year as a first step that this is not acceptable. Riley take your pick from your buddies.
I actually hope we lose by 60. Got to shake up the pollyannas. There is absolutely no spinning this performance. We’re healthy. We’re playing to make a bowl. It’s senior night. On national TV. Civil War dress rehearsal. What the heck else do you need for motivation? Where is the fire?
I’m tired of the 28 year bullshit. Kragthorpe had some teams that were competitive and played with heart. Pettibone had some defenses that played with their hair on fire. A bounce here or there and the streak would have ended before Riley and we would not have to be dealing with this “Riley the savior” crap. Riley left the Beavers after two years and Erickson ended the damn streak!!!!!
Ward shows some heart, too little – too late; needed some passion from the entire team early on. As someone said, team passion reflects that of the coach.
Fire BDC and Riley tomorrow!!! Enough of all the uber bullshit. Riley id a joke and BDC is an idiot. This regime is down the shitter. OSU needs a fresh start with new leaders! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
Cooks with a good run after the catch and then they botch the PAT. Comedy of errors. Though it looked like the second string secondary for the huskies.
Zero effort on those two runs. We can say all we want about the coaches, these kids, no, these men have got to act like they have some pride. Grow the fuck up. Zero effort by a bunch of players. I know the coach is ultimately responsible for motivating your team, but you have to show up and do your job.
Not if Riley and BDC aren’t doing theirs. They have quit on This regime and tens of thousands of fans that have left don’t blame them. It’s past time for a change.
serious question. How did this team manage to win 6 games? They have obviously gotten much much worse over the last 4-6 weeks. It’s perplexing why they have regressed. If this team has quit on it’s coaching staff, the question is why?
A lot should have happened against the cream puffs. Brown, the run game, the run game, 3-4 defense, Mannion roll outs, the run game, anyone who arm tackled benched for a game, the run game, hurry up offense, the run game, etc.
Yeah, but its infuriating to think Brown, though better, is not first string cause of fumbles. This when his first real action is coming in cold on a cold night, down by 50 at the end of the season.
Who gives a shit if he’s a better runner, the guy can’t hold on to the ball. He dropped it twice in the Spring game, and I thought “he’s not going to see the field”. Now look what he’s done in an actual game.
BTW, I’m betting Lindsay comes up with an article on “will a win in the CW salvage the season?”. Sure, beat the Ucks and that over-rides all the poor coaching and missed opportunities. BS!
Not really a conspiracy theorist, but the way the defense was playing has me wondering about what’s going on in that locker room. You can’t play football at that level and be that poor at tackling can you?
I don’t think the point is to have a name in mind. I think a good AD would have a vision for fielding a competitive team that plays the game well in all three phases, have a well written job description, and facilitate a competitive hiring process.
There are things to like about Corvallis and PAC football. Riley has provided a foundation to build on (minimum bowl qualification) and a creative, aspiring coach would have many reasons to want to coach at OSU and compete in the Pac.
Since OSU us stuck with Riley’s contract, I think you are right. Maybe a smart AD would let Riley keep the title in exchange for replacing coordinators and giving the new coordinators control over staff and game management. Let Riley only talk to recruits selected by new coordinators in order to close the deal with his “family” schtick……….not saying Riley is at all phony with the family thing.
BREAKING NEWS: Just heard that Riley didn’t force players to speak to the media and took it on himself to deal with the media postgame. I’ll give him points for that; but not enough to offset the lack of heart shown by the Beavs tonight.
wow. there’s some accountability. Anyone ask him why he stuck with Mannion for so long? Why the poor clock management? Again? Why Banker’s defense gave up 530 yards rushing and still can’t tackle? Oh and yeah, those mindless dolts still clapped after the interview was over.
since it has been a recurring problem, yes. Everything is on the table with me right now. I am so fucking fed up with seeing the same mistakes made repeatedly. If you or I fucked up at our jobs and made the same repeated mistakes we would have our asses kicked out on the street.
BDC has enabled Riley to hire and keep a staff of good buddy friends. It’s all mutual respect on that staff and no one will step on the others toes when a deficiency is apparent. So as Riley said, they go through the whole week feeling really good about their effort and then come game time are shocked at the lack of preparedness. If BDC was out there doing his job, the coaching staff wouldn’t be all buddies, and would approach their jobs with intensity and individual thought. An even better AD would ensure that this staff had individual strengths which balance individual weaknesses.
bobby? is that you bobby? If it is why the f* don’t you pack your bags and exit stage left? Imo you’ve f*’ed this program up enough. Time to move on and deal with your physical issues.
Oh, and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
It would take an AD interested in actively recruiting, probably increasing the salary at least a bit and adding incentives, and facilitating a competitive process.
I also suggest Scott Stoker for the DC position. I know he’s being paid more in El Paso than he was paid at SHSU, but it’s got to be killing him that his SHSU boys played aTm better than his new hot mess at UTEP.
Luck O’ the Beavs….I really think that the Ducks are in the process of slipping a little, but I think that the Beavs are going to slip even more by comparison, so it still won’t be competitive. This season was fool’s gold with those narrow wins over SDSU and Utah.
Good time to hire a new coach. Get rid of BDC first and have new AD go through the process. Wilcox is a reasonable idea depending on what other names stand out. Offer 2 million a year and a 5 year deal with option for early buyout. Wilcox atleast would restore fresh energy into the program and would at worst be mediocre. Possibly though the breath of fresh aur is exactly what OSU needs and everyone rallies around him or the new coach and we could get an Orgeron like outcome where it is far healthier and we wonder why it took us so long to move on and so grateful to be doing something new and having newfound success. It’s time for a change. We need a leader capable of rallying the entire base, capturing new fans and preparing to fill an eventual upgraded stadium. No way is that Riley. Wilcox could be had for 1.8 million with a annual slight increase. Well worth the shot under the terms outlined above.
Joe Avezzano took this opportunity to personally witness his first Beaver game in two years. Nice seats on the 40, 13 rows up. Partied with old friends on a beautiful day. Saw some UO folks talking about how they had feelings of harming themselves, things were going good.
Joe will not darken Reser’s door for the foreseeable future.
Zona up on the ducks 28-9 at halftime. And FCS Georgia Southern just beat Floriduh 26-20 guaranteeing the gators of a losing season. My heart bleeds.
Go BEAVS! Anyone at the fairgrounds tailgating? I think Jason said his group is here somewhere.
UO … in their traditional silver and white…..wait– what?
tradition and Uof O don’t even belong in the same book
Mabye the Beavs can beat Oregon this year afterall. Haven’t watched this game or their loss–have teams figured out the read option or what?
Oregon looks soft. If the opposing D lays the wood to them, they will turn it over. DAT, Mariota and Tyner are not durable at all (injury prone). And they lost another RB to an ankle injury (Addison?)

Marshall, that was him. Was on the sideline training table with his ankle wrapped in ice
Teams? Yes.
Banker? No.
^^ so much this ^^. If anyone can make the another team’s offense look like world beaters, it’s Banker
Clear indication that the Kelly era is over. Kelly never let his guys get complacent against a subpar opponent.
Sad thing is, that could have been us. If they beat the Wildcats comfortably this week and Riley brings his A-game next week, we could have caught them offguard and wrangled an upset. This week proves it.

Question from Jill: Coach Leach, Utah scored on two big explosive plays. What will you do about that?
Leach: Well, we just need to stop big explosive plays.
Why do I get the feeling he doesn’t suffer fools gladly?
Haha totally. Looked at her like she was a booger stuck to his finger.
I can’t stand sideline “reporters.”
Arizona forces 3 straight Oregon plays that lose yards, followed by a punt. I’d say theyve figured out the spread.
LMAO!! UO getting its ass kicked! Dont care to go to the Rose Bowl again??…..well, dont worry about it ….
God I hope they dont find some way to pull this out…..
not happening. 42-16 with less than 8 minutes left. That loud crashing sound is the bandwagon in Eugene going off a cliff
The announcer just called them Oregon State! LOL…..this is choice…. Now his 2nd int….
yup. Loving seeing them getting their asses handed to them. Mariota may have a concussion after taking a knee to the helmet on that tackle after the interception
Do they just call whichever school is bad by the opposite name?
Wildcats bearing down
Mariota throwing picks
No Rose Bowl for Quacks
HAIKU!
Bless you.
http://replygif.net/280
Mariotas helmet off on sidelines. Soundslike concussion possible. With short week for civil war, he would need to heal pretty quickly
Or OSU could end up making the second string look like first team all american..
If the Ducks are hurting and Mariota is out, that’s bad for Riley, because then OSU should compete.
The key? No big plays … no long runs/passes … no quick scores. Well, that and A playing about a perfect game. WAY TO GO, ARIZONA!!
Longest play from scrimage for the ducks was 30 yards.
Best line of the day from my daughter. When I texted her that I was surprised that Huff wasn’t on the sideline crying she replied, “it’s only for the Rose Bowl, no reason to cry about it!”

That was an ass kicking!
Duck fans are already jumping off of bridges. My only hope, as a concerned citizen and humanitarian, is that Lane county has enought bridges for everyone.
Yes,….you need to get out there and make sure its all orderly and humane…..no shoving, there! Wait your turn!

This will mark 1st time @WinTheDay has consecutive road losses since 2007 (at Ariz & UCLA) #GoDucks
A repeat of the 2007 Civil War anybody?
Yes ….its gotta be an opportunity, now. But can our despirited coaching corps rally to the occasion? Somehow, I doubt it….
I would be surprised if it rose to the level of being doubtful. That would mean there’s still a possibility.
It’s a shame that Oregon State hasn’t proven capable of doing any of the things on offense or defense that Stanford and Arizona were doing successfully in dominating Oregon. The Ducks look as vulnerable going into Civil War as they have in years.

Wazzu beat Utah 49-37 and is bowl eligible
He turned them around quickly.
In fairness though, Wulff probably would have had them bowl eligible last year.
I sincerely hope that was sarcasm
Nope.
good thing you aren’t the AD
Why do you say that? Wulff was 9-40 with a max of 4 wins in his career.

The only thing Leach was trying to do was to get rid of the loser mentality in pullman. If that meant roster turnover, so be it.
But that’s it exactly…WSU did NOT have a loser mentality in 2011. Those guys fought like maniacs. Angry even commented on that more than once.
It was the 2012 Cougs that appeared to have a loser mentality.

I expected them to slowly decline and it would take 3 or 4 years. I honestly did not expect them to lose twice or more this season
ASU up 35-13 on FUCLA at halftime looking to wrap up the Pac-12 south and a rematch with Stanford
ASU self destructing.
into Pac-12 south division champs. They beat Arizona next weekend and they would host Stanford in the title game
fwiw – Eastern Washington barely pulled out a win vs. Portland State. I wonder if EW’s coach would consider coaching at Oregon State – although I fear Riley will fossilize in place.
EW = state champ of Oregon.
ASU wins the South. They found their identity.
Hmmmm…”Winners” now there’s an identity goal….beats “searchers.”

Thanks
so let me ask this. Why in the fuck are our defensive backs playing their receivers 10 yards off the line of scrimmage with a QB making his first career start? Can someone explain it to me because I fail to understand this logic.
wow. offensive line can’t block worth two shits. and water is wet. fucking ridiculous play calling on the first drive
Do we have a pulse?
LOLno
Start with ST fail and the defense looks like swiss cheese. Sack, incomplete pass, batted down pass, punt. Way to answer the bell offense.
Hey! The coach looking more depressed than Tony Soprano didn’t mean anything! He just hates losing and was masterminding those fails as part of his genius game plan.
Beavs lookin’ good.
One team is fired up
One team needs firings
Sounds like they watched the Riley video pre-game…
How about a slant? A quickly developing route?!?
Hey! Haven’t you heard? That video meant nothing.
He was just upset about losing because he has a great team.
Damm we look like Riley looked all week. This is going to get ugly…
On the bright side maybe change it’s on it way!!?
Haha that’s a good one!
Hahahahah hohoho hee hee… ha… ho… ummm… what was the question?
4 minutes in and we’re down 14-0.
I am going to go puke now.
No effort, no heart, no desire hope they can grind back, but doesn’t look good.
We are terrible.
Maybe we can go 2 and out this time!!?
Well, the good feeling I had after the duck loss is gone.
Maybe, like ASU, they’ll hold them to 3 after the half…course that will make it 45 – 10….
FWIW that looked like a blatant no-call facemask on Cooks.
Agreed. I was waiting for the flag.
At some point it is up to the players to step up and compete regardless of what looks to be a defeated head coach and incompetent staff..
They are showing no fight right now.
Tell it to USC.
This is depressing.
Among many depressing aspects, the “bump” by Murphy on that pass was near the top of the list.
Gosh, look at the benefit of a run game.
Neither line playing worth a damn.
Chainsaw noise= annoying as hell.
I always thought it sounded like a cow
17-0 after 9 minutes.
This feels like the Vegas Bowl
Just need a punt into the stands.
I say f**k it. This season is over…get Vanderveen some reps. Call some new plays…have some fun.
UW has WAY more energy. Mannion looks defeated already.
Washington doesn’t even have much energy…
^^this^^
It appears to be as cold.. I was drunk as can be at that Vegas Bowl but I remember it being freeeeeeezing..
One of the only games I have ever left early
3 possessions, 3 UW scores. Meanwhile we’re without a first down. 17-0.
We’re deader than women’s indoor soccer….
What’s Bolden’s long on returns this year, 20?
Oh hey another team dancing around on our sidelines with a 17 point lead
I wish the UW kicker would get it to the endzone so we could start at the 25.
This is something little but can we please get someone else than Bolden returning kick offs?
No shit!
Cav sucks!
Thank god the Blazers game is on!
Playing a NW rival at home, and to come out SOOOO flat…… This is ridiculous!!
I guess either the players collect themselves and put up some kind of fight, or this is going to be super embarassing. Of course, Riley is never embarassed…..doesnt care, obviously.
What a shitty situation.
We’re deader than hackysack….
Classic Riley wtf timeout
SO strategic…
God this O-Line sucks.
Great play after a timeout. That was perfect!
WTF, timeout? What, to let the guys rest after a gainer??
Big play and they surprised themselves so much that they had to call a TO to figure out what to do next.
Are you fucking kidding with that call.
We’re deader than the USFL……
4th and 10 and you get a delay penalty.
Strategic delay-of-game to get 5 more yards of room to punt…
Riley clock management is an oxymoron
Beavers D has the Christmas giving spirit early
Next game will be Black Friday
hopefully the last game because right now this team doesn’t deserve a bowl game
Team has quit.
This is just sad… what an embarrassment by everyone involved.. Absolutely no heart
Langsdork perhaps?
What an embarrassment.
The only thing that will stop UW is turnovers or penalties.
Banker, Cav, Langsdorf, DeCarolis…….who else needs to go?
Riley.
Robinson
All of the above? And that stupid f’ing chainsaw noise.
When does team pride kick in?
Maybe Show some fight for your teammates and the seniors?
Mentioned this on the other thread, now that I see Riley with stocking cap tonight I’m more inclined to think that, at the 2:22 point, we have Riley playing grab ass with Banker.
http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2013/11/oregon_state_football_mark_ban_1.html
OSU 42 Baylor 10
Too bad it’s the wrong OSU
Another under thrown ball.
Piss poor pass to Cooks unless they are telling Mannion to throw it short and have Cooks go back for it.
Question – does Mannion ever show any emotion? I’d be fired up after that catch. C’mon!
I was thinking the same thing, reminds me of Riley.
Meant catch to Mullaney
Mannion on the move is not good news.
Our 5 o linemen cannot block 3 d linemen… Fuck you cav
apathybeavs
Would the last OSU beaver slant pass have to be carbon-dated?
Lat year against UCLA.
For a TD, correct? Thanks for the reminder.
Paging Cody Vaz. Cody, please report to the depressed looking guy with the headset.
Vanderveen. Start the future man.
At this point I’m just watching because I’ve never seen football this bad.
Right, you want to see how bad it can get.
Two success blowouts, five straight losses, no bowl invite could incite Riley to retire(?).
It was better than this during the 28 years.
We’re deader than the Stanley Steamer…..
Anyone that said we have a chance in the civil war still think so?
They’re firing up the chainsaw at 17-0, 3rd and goal.
Sad.
Do the dance man, do the dance…
Do the dance man, do the dance…
Just saw the Rodgers brothers are going to be recognized at halftime?
Thanks for the Sun Bowls, but it’s time for Riley and Co. to go. Makes me sad, but this is just depressing this year… and there is no reason to think it will get better.
And this team was a 1.5 point favorite? What a joke…..
Well, we were down 20-0 to ASU and look how that turned out.
Looks like the team has given up. Glad I didn’t make the trip now.
Is Brock Huard always this annoying to listen to? I can’t handle it.
Yes
Usually more so.
I haven’t found any bright spot. Special teams…NOT! Offense….NOT! Defense…..NOT! Punting….NOT Play calling…..NOT! Maybe Jessica Mendoza on the sideline….
Please put Brown in….Woods is a great guy but he’s made of glass and he’d effectively DONE.
I agree…what do they have to lose. Someone who can hit the hole.
What hole? This fricking OL couldn’t put a hole in a paper bag.
THIS SUCKS……………
wow.
Looks like a 600 yard day for the huskies and 150 for the beavs
150? You are an optimist.
Thank god the backup QB is playing, or this could be ugly LOL.
RR beaten badly
Pour it on UW. Pour it on.
I think this will be the first game of the year (maybe ever?) that I won’t finish.
I wonder if there is a good Christmas movie on? I’m done, they’re done, would be nice if BDC and Riley were done.
I flipped over to Boise/SDSU on CBS college sports. 14-7 Aztecs in the 2nd quarter. I’m done watching our joke of a football team this year. I can only hope that wholesale changes are made to the coaching staff when the season is over.
Mannion looks like he wants to cry.
He’s dazed and confused. If they don’t move the ball this series it’s time for Vaz
Throws into double coverage and it’s his second int of the first half.
Mannion sucks shit right now.
GREAT QB coaching. My hat’s off to you MR and Langsdork!!!
We honored Jacquizz by misspelling his name. Bravo.
Wow.
hahah.
where do you see that?
Canzano tweet.
@JohnCanzanoBFT Oregon State scoreboard shows James Rodgers and his brother “Jaquizz”… missing a “c” there.
Lets go Vaz now, and assuming same level of play, Vanderveen to start 4th. Rest Mannion for short week next week.
Or continue running our fucking head into a wall cause who needs a brain
First 3 and out for UW.
From a UO fan at Olive:
“Just when I think this can’t get any funnier, I realize that the beavos have recruits in the stands. 3* RB Harris Ross, 3* FB/OLB Devante Downs, and 3* OT Kaleb McGary (6’8″ 280). Think you will sign any of them to LOIs?”
Immediate playing time?
BDC and Riley both need to go. Retire, no one else will want them. Not even Willamette. Beyond pathetic. The team has given up on Riley. Wholesale changes need to happen to put an end to this crap. Ed Ray you are a bitch to not fire BDC tomorrow!
Do we have any slants or pick plays in that vast arsenal of a play book Riley has?
That is the way to beat press coverage
Yeah that looks like maybe two pages in his hand
How about a designed qb run?
Haha
Sorry about that Vadger game. On the bright side, it is 10 degrees in MN right now.
I’ll bet all them 2 star recruits Riley is signing up can’t wait to get to Corvallis.
They all think they’ll start next year but don’t realize how complicated Riley’s playbook is.
EMBARRASSING
Some 40K fans wasted their time going to Reser tonight.
I felt that Sark should’ve called a timeout before the punt there. He was smart enough to know the Beavs would hike it with plenty to spare on the play clock though
My god, this is pathetic.
Put Cody in there. It’s senior night…let the guy play. Mannion is done. I’m so sick of watching him play. Wasn’t the right call to play him over Katz, and he’s only been good against bad teams since.
Riley makes his statements by sticking with struggling players too long.
Fire up the
stadium renovationecho chamber.Yeah, he did say he wasn’t offering winning as an option to improve the game experience.
Ugly…. no urgency, no feeling that we need to win now…..
It was nice that Nelson was so far off the play that the replay officials had a good look at the call.
Curious how what out record in all black units. Games that come to mind: Sac St, EWU, Stanford, a cpl CWs. I know it doesn’t matter but I don’t remember seeing much of a win in the all Blacks.
white power!
If you’re going to take that long to get a play off you might as well take a knee.
That made no sense and did Riley go to halftime with a time out in his pocket?
Not just one, two!
Beaver football is so bad right now. I hate being reduced to simply rooting for the ducks to trip up.
Finish the half with -1 yards rushing on 9 attempts. 109 yards passing with 2 INT. As bad a half of Beaver football as I’ve seen and I’ve seen alot of bad Beaver football.
GIVE US VAZZZZZZZZZZZ
I mean what’s the worse that can happen? An interception? Pfft
God this is disgusting. If Vaz and Vanderveen have any brains, they have left the stadium and gone home.
Cant wait to hear how Riley spins this … The man has given up — no other way to see this.
Don’t read too much into his post-game interview!
I’m so disgusted I’m arguing with Schnell on O-Live now…talk about a waste of time.
tell that stupid twunt to go back to fashion. She obviously doesn’t know shit about football
What’s she saying?
“you can’t find a sitting coach that would come to Corvallis for $1M a year and stay more than 3 years if their successful…..”
Did she really spell they’re like that?
No, my f-up…typing quickly.
She’s a genius
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but she had a huge piece on Grantland about the new Penn State QB.

Where is the fire?
getting closer. Can the huskies hang 70 on us?
Riley has turned this program around 360 degrees
Brilliant.
You forgot to mention the occasional flashes of brilliance from Joe Avezzano.
Over under on a shutout?
Well, Cooks is a fighter.
Missed the TD by a couple of inches
regardlesss, cooks is a stud….
Too bad that’s coming back. Great play.
Cooks doesn’t want to talk to any of his teammates.
If only we had a team of Brandin Cooks’…
I’ve loved that dude since the day he verballed.
The way the O line run blocks, we might as well play 180 lb linemen.
Thank you Cav…
Good call. One yard out on 3rd and 4.
At least the clock is running.
Who looks like the QB making first start?
I swear all we do is swat and slap at the ball instead of tackle.
Maybe a shutout tonight and a blowout next weekend will incite Riley to retire?!?
Glass man Woods hurting again?
AND they’re doing the first down chant?
Mannion is a statue.
That is demeaning to all statues.
Why is he still in the game?
but he can’t throw on the run.
Wilcox? DeRuyter?
Erickson? :p
Aliotti?
Rocky Long?
Avezzano?
Buyout Kirk Ferentz
fuck that
Could it really be worse?
Joe Avezzano is flattered but unfortunately is taking his talents in a different direction.
MR getting punked.
Huard is so bad.
Is Vaz irritated that he can’t even replace Mannion now?
Or is he happy he doesn’t have to play behind this O-line?
If I was vaz I’d tell the coach I had to take a shit and head for the locker room.
3rd and short goes for 68 yards on his first carry of the game.
Lol…crippled back up scoring now.
wow, it shouldn’t be such a surprise, but the beavs suck so bad…
I think the team has found their identity.
Yep. Riley’s loser one!
Ward shows some heart, too little – too late; needed some passion from the entire team early on. As someone said, team passion reflects that of the coach.
perfect a pick six by Mannion. Now maybe Vaz??
on the bright side at least glasses ref has zero to do with this outcome
Fuck Mannion. Dude is classic no show when it matters.
In his defense, this one-dimensional offense has caught up with Riley.
USC, and now UW, are sitting in the passing lanes…
Fair statement.
At least Mannion threw a TD pass.
Fire BDC and Riley tomorrow!!! Enough of all the uber bullshit. Riley id a joke and BDC is an idiot. This regime is down the shitter. OSU needs a fresh start with new leaders! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
Mannion caps his spic-tacular performance with a TD throw for the Huskies. He da man!
I can no longer watch… it’s just too bad
It’s obvious we’re not winning. I don’t wanna score.
48 – 0, only 15 minutes left…now Riley going to the run.
Trying to burn clock?
Please put Cooks on the bench now. Last thing he needs is an injury at this point.
i’m gonna watch cops-reloaded instead… at least there is some curiosty there…
Bad beavs bad beavs, whatcha gonna do?
Cooks and Ward showing heart. They must hate this.
I hope Riley isn’t planning on playing Mannion on Friday
Sitting outside in a 1 degree wind chill this afternoon was way more pleasurable than watching this.
Cooks would start for any team in the nation.
I’m surprised he’s starting here
That PAT makes a lot of sense tonight.
Cooks with a good run after the catch and then they botch the PAT. Comedy of errors. Though it looked like the second string secondary for the huskies.
Haha. That is the icing on the cake.
Curious…no pans of the stadium crowd for sometime now…
Looks like the Parker Stadium I remember growing up.
Ya, getting nostalgic for my days in Corvallis.
There’s your answer.
No, that’s the icing on the cake. The dude has a run of 68 yards and one of 70 yards.
5 rushes for 145 yards thats pretty sweet!
According to S-I, UW averaging 8.8 per rush on 44 attempts.
Only 13:58 left…
Fans are sleeping!!! Hahahahaha
I’m jealous
Brown appears headed for a first, then gives away the ball….
Maybe Riley was right on one thing….Chris Brown isn’t ready.
Chris Brown won’t see the field forever now and then the D just gives up
It will take a new coaching staff for Brown to see the field…
Beavers consoling seniors on the sideline now.
Brown should transfer
I thought Chris Brown was ordered into rehab
If anyone is interested, flip over to CBS college sports for a good game. SDSU just ran a punt back for a TD. Tied @ 28, 4 minutes to go
Are you kidding me…
Sweet, even less time to play Vaz/Vanderveen now
“This is a prideful group”
Wait whaaa?
Not really
Well that kickoff return might seem remarkable but when you get 10 return opportunities in one game, you’re bound to break one.
UW now playing a QB with a “mustache” who looks like he should be driving a t-top firebird and draining some cool cans of Miller…
Cooks should declare for the draft after the civil war game.
Before. This monday.
Cooks should give this entire team and coaching staff the bird and pull a Coly Lyerla and walk away. Before he gets hurt and his draft stock plummets
serious question. How did this team manage to win 6 games? They have obviously gotten much much worse over the last 4-6 weeks. It’s perplexing why they have regressed. If this team has quit on it’s coaching staff, the question is why?
The teams we beat this year were a combined 20-41 prior to this weekend.
This is a team that looks like a standard mid-major team; win by throwing the ball against weak opponents.
They have not played good football all season long, but for the passing game against weak competition.
Fumble not withstanding Chris Brown has a nice burst..Nothing like the other 2
Brown is such a better runner. He should have gotten his rookie reps against the cream puffs early in the season and been really solid by now
A lot should have happened against the cream puffs.
“should have” sums up the Beavs under Riley.
Boise St FG is wide left as time expires. Headed for OT
I realize he’s playing against backups, but Brown undeniably has a burst.
ANyone got a link for the BSU game I dont have CBSSN?
http://www.feed2all.eu/type/american-football.html
This is so ridiculous.
By the way, the stadium shots of a mostly-empty stadium with sleeping fans HAS to be helping recruiting.
Right along with the score.
Another long run for a td….
Riley may be finally heartbroken tomorrow if not monday after CW.
519 rushing yards for UW…so much for Banker’s resurgence.
That D Washington touchdown run at 4:38 left was awesome textbook of Banker coached tackling.
hahahahahaa..
Somebody should get fired for this.. They are creeping up on 1,000 yards lmao
Someone should get punched in the nose for letting it get this bad
If I see BDC around town I’ll kick him in the junk, ok?
That is so inappropriate yet I just can’t bring myself to vote it down
Brown is so clearly the better runner. Ridiculous.
Who gives a shit if he’s a better runner, the guy can’t hold on to the ball. He dropped it twice in the Spring game, and I thought “he’s not going to see the field”. Now look what he’s done in an actual game.
And running for -1 yards once every three series is better?
SDSU wins 34-31 in OT. Good game. Much better than the alternative
Most points scored on Beavs in the HISTORY of the program. Own that Riley/Banker
“Season ain’t over yet.”
They just said Riley would have to field tough questions this week.
Yeah like, “Hey Mike, do you prefer Gucci or Prada?” — Schnell
Thanks, Angry. I really needed a chuckle!
Something is going on. Wonder if Riley has asked Bray to turn it down a notch, gotta keep the egos of these great guys in mind, right?
The team’s performance tonight was a reflection of their coach’s lack of strength and energy this past week.
I know, its not all on the coaches, but these are kids, and they are strongly influenced by their coaches.
Not that strongly. Something’s up with the team, outside of the coaches.
I agree. You certainly don’t hear “we’re family” or “we have each other’s backs” mantra any more.
Question: Who would you replace Mike Riley with? Anyone have any actual possibilities?
I don’t think the point is to have a name in mind. I think a good AD would have a vision for fielding a competitive team that plays the game well in all three phases, have a well written job description, and facilitate a competitive hiring process.
There are things to like about Corvallis and PAC football. Riley has provided a foundation to build on (minimum bowl qualification) and a creative, aspiring coach would have many reasons to want to coach at OSU and compete in the Pac.
Yeah, “a good AD”…….I see what you did there.
Nigel Burton?
The best move is replace BDC first, second replace Riley’s Assistants second, Replace Riley 3rd. Lets start the process to improving.
Poor clock management is an issue after that game? Seriously?
Did you miss the timeout we had to call after Woods nice run on the screen pass in the first quarter?
which netted a first down might I add. Is letting the play clock run down too far to get the following play off not poor clock management?
I guess it is, not sure who’s responsible for that one. But in the worst loss ever, this is one of your criticisms?
since it has been a recurring problem, yes. Everything is on the table with me right now. I am so fucking fed up with seeing the same mistakes made repeatedly. If you or I fucked up at our jobs and made the same repeated mistakes we would have our asses kicked out on the street.
I concur. I don’t want BDC involved in any more decisions when it comes to hiring head coaches. Most of his hires have been shaky at best.
I DIDN’T SEE BDC THROW ALL OF THOSE PICKS! HELL! I DON’T THINK HE EVEN RECORDED ONE TACKLE!!! WITH THAT PRODUCTION, FIRE BDC!!!!!!!!
Lance Leipold has been suggested. He’s a program guy, but given his achievements, he may be ready to move on to a new challenge:

It would take an AD interested in actively recruiting, probably increasing the salary at least a bit and adding incentives, and facilitating a competitive process.
I’ve always liked Leipold. He should be our next OC. His teams do not fool around.
Since special teams were so special… forever… Leipold could take that $260k salary paid to Read. I think that more than doubles his current salary.
I also suggest Scott Stoker for the DC position. I know he’s being paid more in El Paso than he was paid at SHSU, but it’s got to be killing him that his SHSU boys played aTm better than his new hot mess at UTEP.
Yeah, I want LL.
Sign a 2 or 3 year deal and just see where it goes.
Troy Calhoun, who is from Oregon, could be had for cheap after the past few down seasons. I think he has 5 good years left in him.
This sucks! Losing is bad….but losing like this!?!?!!
