  1. Riley should start Brown in the CW and feed him the ball often.

He should tell the O lineman, “I’m putting this game on your shoulders.”

And he should call some damn slants and post routes after Brown is ripping off runs….Ward and Anderson should get touches, passes. Hamlett and Smith should be targeted.

    • but will he do that? Nope. You’ll see the same shit we’ve all seen the last several weeks and it will end in another beatdown.

          • How many passes did Mannion have? He had three interceptions. A turn over is a turnover. If you are willing to continue to give Mannion a chance after 10 turnovers in three games then you should give Brown a chance. Beggars can’t be choosers.

          • Then give him more than garbage time when he’s just cold. At least he’s running around and through people instead of closing his eyes and landing on his butt when he runs into a wall. We’ve seen what the other backs can do, and that’s not much. They block? Maybe they can teach our O-line coach to teach the O-line to do the same? They don’t fumble? Does that make you feel better after several three-and-outs because they just can’t do anything else besides block and not fumble?

          • I wouldn’t mind seeing Brown get carries from the start, but I would mind fumbles capping 50 yard drives. Ward may not be as good a runner, but he’s not dropping it. It’s also hard to compare Brown’s junk minutes to actual game time.

    • Castro might have an axe to grind, but it’s an interesting comment nonetheless. I was wondering if it’s a defense vs. offense thing that’s going on in the locker room? Mannion does not strike me as much of a leader, and then you have Cooks with his odd defense of Mannion the last three weeks.

Defense was making some improvements and then just falls off a cliff last night. There’s some weird shit going on with the Beavs. Stanford is a hard ass team and I thought the Beavs acquitted themselves well and then a month later we get this????

    • well……..I guess it is kind of a diss to one of the greatest RB’s to ever wear a beaver uniform. So I guess I wouldn’t expect a donation check from him anytime soon

    • My name is often misspelled as well so I’m sure Quizz isnt event really offended.

His name isn’t exactly a fucking layup..its Jacquizz it’snot like whatever intern in charge of scoreboard production misspelled Joe or Bob.

    • It’s so typical Beaver that I was too depressed to respond. What’s next? They spell Terry Baker “Terri Baker”? or how about Garry ‘the glove” Peyton? Go Beivs!

    • I thought it was a stupid angle from Canzano, but I guess he’s obligated to pump something out.
quickly. I sense a fundamental slip in both programs that given a few days of reflection and research could have produced a substantial opinion piece from him.

  2. I’m going to go through the recruiting film after the CW.
The star ratings and offer sheets of these guys suggest Riley picked more low hanging fruit.

  3. During the game my five year old son turned to me and said “dad, are you good at tacking? Maybe you can help the beavers!”

Again, he’s five and even he was disgusted by the defense.

  4. Steve Gress isn’t afraid to talk about change:

That’s his hurried piece after last night’s game. It looks like he’s willing to get a discussion going about making drastic changes. That’s one member of the media.

And now we return you to your regularly scheduled Pollyanna logic:
Can you imagine how bad last night would have been if the best coach Oregon State could ever get wasn’t patrolling the sidelines?

    • Surprise! You won’t see Lindsay talking about change. She tweets, “Don’t get me wrong, this is very, very bad, but it’s not like OSU loses like this all the time. Saying Riley should be fired after this? Pls”

      You can’t make this up!

      • I’m surprised the Oregonian is putting up with this. Does she assume her tweets are separate from her job as a so-called Oregonian reporter?

On another subject – does anyone know if Ed Ray is taking ANY notice of all this?

        • Something weird about her other than the obvious. 1. the twitter photo? what’s the point? sunglasses? blonde friend? are we supposed to i.d. the background? 2. she uses the account as an addendum to her job, uses it for personal opinions and lately as an apologist for Riley. That is as unprofessional as it gets. For an example, Stephen Nelson, KEZI, uses twitter reports as just that, reports. 3. I wonder if LS has been befriended by the inner circle and she is quoting what they say.4. I don’t get the impression she knows anything about football, especially when she tries to sound like she does. As an example, someone commenting on Chris Brown and she retorted – to the effect of when was the last time anyone saw him throw a block. I have a distinct feeling she wouldn’t know a block if she saw one – she simply overheard someone say it.

          • I’d say it’s the old “square peg/round hole” thing. Her human interest stuff is passable, even above average; her football analysis stinks. Too bad that is the main focus of her current job.

And some of the twitter stuff is pure ditz!

  5. Angry, that’s just terrible. He was one of the guys that played with ferocity on every down. Pathetic enough that we play like we did on the day we “honor” him, but then misspell his name?

    Embarrassing.

  6. With the exception of the extra 20,000 fans and the new stadium additions last night reminded me of my tenure with the Beavs. All that was missing, to add to the misery, was a driving rain. Ah…sweet memories.

My DVR probation program worked to perfection. Did that whole debacle in less than one hour. I started fast forward at the 17-0 mark. I had to stay up late..but at least I wasn’t driving home.

Per my prediction it looks like we’re a lock for the highly sought ADVOCare100 Bowl in Shreveport. Do you think more than a dozen fans might make that trek? Is it possible to decline a bowl bid? I think UCLA did that a few years ago. JB

“O…..S……U…… bites, bites, bites” Wave arms in letter like form…..until embarrassed or bored.

    • OSU needs to decline a bowl bid – should one arrive. I hope it doesn’t. I will watch the WSU-Husky game with great interest. The Cougs pass most of the time, but Connor Holliday can move around and, unnoticed, there is a ground game in the mix. Enough, at least, to make the opposition wary. I don’t know if they will be able to stop Sankey, however. I also think Leach is smarter than Sarkasian but the Huskies will be out to avenge last year’s loss. Lots of intrigue, here. The Civil War – not so much – actually, not any.

      • You just can’t decline bowl invitations though. It’s like turning down free sports tickets from someone because the game isn’t compelling enough. The next time that person has freebies and it’s for THE BIG GAME, s/he won’t ask you if you want to go because you rejected the notion the first time.

If you become known for turning down bowl invitations, then when it comes time for bowls to make their bids in future years, you’re frowned upon as that school who turns their noses up at bowls.

    • I hope your DVR system also eliminates the part where Riley, looking old and frail, talks about coaching for 38 years and how excited he is to come through the tunnel at the beginning of game. Or, worse yet, what is that droning on thing about being proud of Oregon State and its “tradition” and “history.” Good god, other schools have pert young, energetic students, past or present, extolling the virtues of their university.

    • Bone, I wouldn’t sell yourself too short. Last nights team game up about a third of the points your 94 and 95 teams gave up for the entire seasons. It’s too bad that offensively you couldn’t quite get the dual concept working, but Tim Alexander was almost a prototype.

  7. Email to Bob DeCareLess:

Subject: Will Never Attend Another OSU Game Until Riley is Fired

Just so you know. No heart, no leadership, no passion, stale as 100 year old bread.

Also really, really wish you would resign. We need a complete overhaul at OSU. What we are doing is extremely unhealthy and is only going to get worse. Most fans have checked out on Riley and can’t believe your stupidly long contract to him that actually could reward a season like this and make the buyout worse.

Please both resign and quit making OSU such a laughingstock and bad joke. The players have obviously given up on Riley. Change is desperately needed for Beaver Nation to begin anew. It has worked for many other schools and Orgeron and Wilcox should be interviewed.

Ashamed to be a Beaver with our current ‘leaders’! Horrible what is going on. Please step aside!

  8. So in the 120 or so years of OSU ( OSC ) football, including the longest or one of the longest losing streaks. The record for the most points scored against the Beavers didn’t come from Pettibone, Fertig or Kragthorpe. It came in 08 “63” and 13 “69” by the coaches Riley, Banker & Langsdorf who being the winning-est group of coaches in school history who have turned the program around. It probably doesn’t need to be mentioned that they are the longest tenured coaches in school history and they play the longest schedule in history, as well as a longer list of bowl games. But I am sure next year will be different, right Lucy?
