OSU clinches the conference with a win or Washington loss. Beavs will be a national seed.

On Feb 14th I wrote I felt this team could win a National Championship and still feel that way. The bullpen is shaky, but otherwise the parts are all there. Even the intangibles, like good mix of youth and leadership, are there. Go Beavs.

  1. The injury to Peterson concerns me. His whole game is based on speed and a bad ankle can really mess you up for a while. Moore is not the dominant pitcher he was last year. Slumps by our two big bats really make scoring a chore for this team and Conforto is trending downward to close the season. Perhaps Keyes return boosts everything, but he will be very rusty. Peterson at full strength makes the D elite. Beat the condoms. Go Beavs!

    • I guess if they are going to have summer classes focused on a Band like Phish, I would only hope they extend to other Bands: Stones, Beatles, or even Tupac, Nirvana, etc. Musicians who set the tone for their own respective genre and artists who followed. It would be nice to see a mix of musicians and bands who help to define a generation or that you could at least tie into the overall feeling and conscious of America given the period of time. Actually a course on the Delta and the blues it inspired would be pretty awesome too.

  2. one slight correction. The beavs sew up the pac-12 with a win AND a Washington loss tonight. Should both teams win or lose tonight the lead would still be two games with two to play. Should they finished tied at the end of the regular season it would still be a shared conference title. Even though the Beavers won the conference series 2-1. That would however give the Beavs the automatic berth into the tournament. Any combination of beaver wins and/or hussy losses this weekend that equal two give the beavs the title outright. I still like our chances of winning two at USC this weekend and winning it outright no matter what UW does.

  3. Stanford shuts out da utes 5-0. If they sweep this weekend, they’d be 30-23 overall and 16-14 in conference. With an RPI in the 40’s, I bet they get in to the tournament.

  4. Fry really struggling. Gives up a two out triple that scores two to tie it in the b4. 75 pitches through the 4th. Fry gave up the triple to a guy batting .130 on the year and his first extra base hit of the year.

    • uhh, the error from Morrison at short was the culprit there. If he makes that play, inning over with no damage done. Jace looked pissed

  5. Stanford definitely makes the tournament with a .500 record in the PAC. The committee rewards playing the toughest schedule in the nation.

  6. Morrison trying to make it up with his bat. Opened the 3rd with a triple and scored on Hendrix sac fly. And with Casper aboard singles through the right side to put two on and nobody out. Hendrix with a deep fly ball and Hamilton strikes out on a curve out of the zone. And Conforto strikes out on three off speed pitches. Last two batters didn’t see a fast ball. Two on and nobody out with the top of the order and the Beavs get nothing. Terrible at bats to boot.

    • none of the pitches to Conforto were even strikes. Jesus he was swinging at balls almost in the dirt. Really struggling right now

  7. Hamilton should never hit at the 2 spot. He’s a bottom of the order bat right now. Morrison is who I’d like to see at the 2 spot with him really coming on strong with the bat at the end of the year. Switch Hamilton and Morrison and it will make the top of the order much stronger.

      • I’d rather have Morrison in the 2 hole than Peterson to be honest. He gets on base more than Peterson and is more talented offensively. He’s starting to figure things out. My lineup going into postseason would be Hendrix-Morrison-Conforto-Davis-Keyes-Clark-Ice-Hamilton-Peterson

  8. Keyes with a two out walk and the SC starter is over 100 pitches. Ice walks on 4 pitches. With b2b walks Casper comes out swinging at the first pitch. One out of the zone by the way. Casper with a major fail. Strikes out looking at a curve ball on a 3-2 count.

  9. Fry with a leadoff walk. Bunt back to Fry and he gets the leadoff runner then a K for the second out. And Fry gets his 7th K to end the inning.

  10. Only one time in the last 5 games have the Beavers scored in multiple innings in the same game. Been an issue for a large part of the season. They score their runs in one inning and the rest of the game put together piss poor at-bats. The focus isn’t there

  11. Conforto grounds one over 2b but the shift is on and it’s an easy groundball out. Davis grounds it to the same place for a basehit.

  12. Casey does not put the runners in motion anywhere close to enough. With a slow runner up and he’s a high contact hitter, good chance with two runners on to try and make something happen with a hit and run. He doesn’t and it results in a double play. Really poor game from the players and the coaching staff

  13. Fry struggled but should’ve left the game with the lead and the offense was pitiful. They better play better or they could blow up a fine season.

  14. UNC and Virginia tied in the 7th. Louisville loses to South Florida and Florida State loses to Maryland in the ACC tourney

  15. Team has lost a significant portion of its edge since Conforto misplayed that ball in the outfield and we quickly went from a likely win and season sweep of the Ducks to losing badly. Atleast Wetzler is on the mound tomorrow. Team needs him bad right now to secure the Pac-12 title. If they screw this up it would be a major collapse. Time for Ben to save the outright conference championship. Casey needs this too to speed up his BBQ pavilion and get it built ASAP with maximum contributions from Beaver Nation.

  16. Ice comebacker for the first out. Howard to PH. Singles. Morrison fans. Hendrix strikes out on a WP and tying run is aboard again with 2 out.

  17. Hearing that a couple of women’s coaches got their pink slip today – I know that one was a golf coach…anyone know who the other or others were?

        • Yes… Liskevych should go for more than just progressively leading his team to an 0-fer season over many years. The program has problems unseen.

Simmons also has to go. His crime is just the progressive march to an 0-fer season. He’s actually a good guy.

          • I don’t get the love for him by our AD on any level over the past four years. It’s not like he’s getting better or worse. He’s just not a great person.

Alexander is the only head coach removed from the official site’ of any of our sports.

  18. There might be some good news yet tonight. Cal leads the ducks 5-0 in t8 and UCLA leads UW 3-0 in the b6 as Kaprielian has a 3 hitter going.

  19. UCLA just beat the Huskies 3-0. Third game in a row that the Huskies have been shutout (Kaprielian today; Fry and Wetzler last weekend).

    Beavs are Pac-12 champs again.

    • I don’t like the habit forming of losing the initial game in a series (or round robin regional?).

Wake up players. Your legacy will be the same as other #1 ranked losers otherwise.

  20. Today’s 4:00 “Happy Hour” first pitch will provide extra motivation for err.. Wets…ler. His little debacle has screwed up the rotation and momemtum that Casey built up over the first three months of the season. They will be fine but this was an unnessary distraction. JB

PS: BDC must be feeling pretty macho lately. Dropped the hammer on the women’s golf coach!

    • I think you have a good point here.

The rotation change may be the reason for first game failure.

      It still portends doom.

      • Although… I believe 2007 was a post-season of nothing but elimination games.

Still… I would just rather beat UNC and be done with it.

      • personally, for the regionals I think it should be Wetzler, Fry, THEN Moore. You absolutely have to roll your two best pitchers out there for the first two games.

  21. Has there really been nothing to talk about in the last three days?

I will say this. Coach Rob was good at the soft sell too. I don’t know what everyone is getting giddy about Tinkle for his story. It almost matches CR’s story to a tee. The personality is similar but not the same. But selling the person is just what new coaches do.

I wonder what could be so different about Tinkle and CR. I’m going with height.

What is cool and should be highlighted is the x’s and o’s. We’re going to see a primarily triangle and weakside motion offense with players being responsible for reading the defense… and… something I’ve never mentioned before… spacing.

    I’m getting misty here.

The only thing better would be a coach who ran an amoeba zone.

    Wait… wut?

    • I’m certainly not “giddy”. I think it’s interesting how everyone talks about Tinkle’s NCAA tourney teams, but no mention of the Grizzlies mediocore season last year. How do we know that last season wasn’t the start of a downturn? Change was needed, but it’s just change for now. I guess I’m grumpy because I’m tired of waiting for hoops improvement, I don’t want to wait three or four years, but there is no choice.

    • Comeon, Jack…..I dont see any giddiness here.

At least WT has had some success, which CR hadnt. CR lived up to his past, and continued being mediocre. One is entitled to hope WT will live up to his, and get us back to respectability.

And in a few years, having paid off the CR deficit, maybe the money is there to hire a Howland, if WT flops.

      • Speaking of that. We are sure to schedule another sacrificial lamb game in football to help pay off CR. They should have an online poll to pick our executioner.

  22. GBITS, I humbly ask you to help your fellow rodent smite the evil fowl from the south in softball.
Failing that, please arrange some crowd shots of the cheerleaders.

    • It reminds me of Cris Collinsworth on NBC Sunday night football broadcasts. “When I played for the Cincinnati Bengals……………………………………………”

  23. absolute horseshit call to end the beavs first inning. Idk if the umpire called that a strike or said that Ice swung at it, but he’s wrong on both counts. Casey and Ice were pissed. Rightfully so. The horrible home plate umpiring continues from yesterday.

  24. So Nice to have Keyes back!!
An RBI and a very nice play to start the inning ending DP. That said, I still prefer him at 1b.

  25. bottom of the beaver order puts two on with nobody and and the top of the order delivers 3 outs. Letting the SC pitcher off the hook.

  26. Keyes 2 E’s on one play, but no harm as Morrison makes a nice play to end the b4. That inconsistency at 3b is why I (and several AB’s) prefer Kavin at 1b.

  27. Ben struggling with a tight back but Casey said that he won’t come out. With offensive woes this one is going to the wire. 3 DPs have kept SC from scoring.

  28. Beavers bats doing nothing after scoring early. Seems familiar. Relying on the starters to carry the team is gonna cost them

    • Especially concerning today against a pitcher who should have been knocked out a couple innings ago. Strahan through 6 has thrown only 58 K’s out of 109 total pitches. 7 BB’s too.

  29. 2-0 at the stretch. SC starter has thrown 130 pitches and issued 8 walks and the Beavs haven’t taken advantage.

  30. Hendrix robs SC batter of HR as he leaps and reaches over the fence to make the catch. Wetzler ends the game with a K in the dirt. And Beavs are P12 Champs all by themselves.

  31. Beavers win 2-0 and win the Pac-12 outright. Offense needs to start coming with a better mentality for a full 9 though. Can’t rely on Ben and Jace to carry the load in the postseason for all 9. 2 runs per game over the last 6 is dreadful. Need the middle of the order to get back to producing like they’re capable of

  32. Both Wetzler and Fry lower their league leading ERAs this weekend. Amazing that Ben could keep his ERA below 1.00 through the P12 season.

    • Both part of the 18 guys on the watch list for Pitcher of the Year. Hope Ben’s suspensions don’t decrease his chances.

  33. Cal takes the series from the ducks, winning 5-3 tonight and go for the sweep tomorrow. Should kick them out of hosting.

    • That series ended tonight. Oregon won game 1 on Thursday. Oregon hasn’t had a chance at hosting in a while. Nothing they did the past couple weekends would have helped them host with so many teams with better resumes

  34. Any chance Casey will give the regulars the day off? Probably not. imho, a loss wouldn’t make any difference to anything (considering that the backups might lose). It might be fun for everyone to have a break – this has been an intense season and maybe the hitters are just plain tired.

    • In the post game interview Casey indicated that he was likely to play a lot of guys who have not seen the field much this season. He specifically mentioned that he’d talk with Andrew before deciding on starting pitcher.

      • No doubt. Need players who want to earn a trip to the Whitehouse (i.e. win a national championship) not get there because the coach’s sister is the First Lady….

I finally watched the Tinkle interview the other day and came away optimistic. I wish BDC would facilitate some coaches retreats and team interactions so we could see if some of the thinking and attitudes of Casey, Tinkle, and even Rueck could influence Riley. I think even Garret has more of the Casey and Tinkle attitude than Riley, but Riley needs some push from above that includes positive examples and high expectations.

        • I haven’t thought about Riley much at all since January. It’s been nice. Blood pressure feels lower, too.

This is the best time of year to be a Beaver fan. Soak it up.

  35. Kerry Eggers was more hopeful on Oliver than Manderson getting into school. Still haven’t heard from Oliver, but people seem optimistic he will still come to OSU.

  36. Where did Michael and Dylan go? Pop ups to the infield don’t work. Stop worrying about the walk record Michael and get aggressive at the plate please. Your draft stock is dropping.

      • ?

Methinks you don’t know the meaning of that… just like you choose to name yourself after one of the least favorite football players around here… and not for whiffing.

        Stupid fucking Duck.

        • This does give me ideas for handles on Duck sites.

If you ever see the name “Jaison Williams Catches a Pass” or “Garrett Embry Outruns a Frat Brat”… you will know it’s me.

          • That is really, really funny stuff Jack! I love how you put this guy in his place. He must be a masochist to endure the pain you inflict. Keep up the good work!!

          • Pain?

            On a sports blog?

            In his place?

Methinks you have too high a respect for silly discourse which can’t rise above itself. When life leaves a flaming paper bag on your porch and doorbell ditches… make lemonade.

          • Classic again!! Top notch work old boy!! Truly amazing. Your comedy efforts are wasted in this sports blog. You need to contribute to Funny or Die or some other site like that. I haven’t been here for too long but I love your posts. Please keep them coming.

  37. These guys better regroup this week. We will be lucky to be a top 5 seed. The number 2 team in their pool will like theirs chances. Wake up Beavers!

  38. Yeah…..the coaches need to do some psych work. Tight game and a guy gets called out on strikes? Comeon. Davis and Conforto have been in a slump for a while. Damn.

    • as I previously suggested – I think they need some time off. – they aren’t major league players – they still have school work – c’mon Casey -a day or two away from the game, please.

      • I agree, but Conforto may not; he tweets, “Nothing to do but learn and move forward. Time to grind this week, and get back to who we are. The beavs will be ready for you Corvallis”

      • Fuck you Duck!

I don’t say this enough. I think you pathetic idiots are really stupid. Your humor is predictable and also low brow.

I’m sorry. I would say more, but there’s no depth to you all. You’re a bunch of fucking simple idiots.

Unfortunately, so is the rest of the country. Marketing says so. Enjoy your flash and flam.

        You still suck sour eggs.

        • If my wife ever reads this… then I really do love Ducks… and all I just typed is humor… yes… humor difficult for Ducks to understand… except for my wife… of course.

          • He actually hasn’t come back since then.

But you have done so repeatedly while pretending to be someone else.

            Hmmm….

Just curious… why were you stalking beavergopher with weird posts? You seemed to think he had a DUI thrown out? You’re dealing with some weird shit.

  39. This is one album I play heavily in front of kids.

It is so excellent from front to finish in tune, tone and lyric. My kids will not be denied.

  40. Beavs have scored 13 runs in their last 7 games. 7 games is a trend and I’m concerned. Conforto can “learn” all he wants, hit the damn ball in the gap or look at going home early! That’s the only lesson at this point in the season.

    • The time for learning is long past. Casey recently said something like, If we’re teaching how to play at this point in the season we’ve really missed the boat. It is now not about skills, but the mental approach to the game (e.g.: Morrison’s attempt to get the lead runner yesterday). Have fun, play steady, and don’t try to be spectacular.

helmsley’s comment above about a day off seems in line with Casey’s thought. OTOH, there’s a “GrateSwami’ over on the O who thinks all is well due to the difference in competition and history learned in the PAC vs whomever the Beavs will face in post season; for this fact alone GS seems to expect the bats to come around big time. Hope so, but “there are none so blind as those who will not see”.

Again, anyone know anything about Petey’s return??

  41. omg – I hope they don’t overlook North Dakota State – Other teams in other sports in other conferences have overlooked them at their peril. imo – it would be like Mike Riley not “knowing much about” Eastern Washington’s quarterback. But then, Pat Casey and Mike Riley are very different.

      • I’ll take your word for it. Nevertheless, from the Fargo newspaper: “The Bison and Beavers have one common opponent this season in USC. NDSU dropped three to open the season at USC, including two in the last at-bat. OSU dropped two of three to the Trojans to finish the regular season and got the No. 1 seed despite dropping three of its last four.”

I’ll wait for the fat lady to sing.

    • Doubtful they will overlook anyone after closing out the year losing 3 of the last 4 games. I’m assuming Wetzler and Fry get the first two starts and then hope Moore can rebound.

Initial scouting report – Decent regional but the Beavs pitching should overwhelm their opponents.

UC Irvine – Lost 6 in a row to end the year.
UNLV – 11-17 on the road.
NDSU – Won their conf tourney to get in. Have not seen a quality team like the beavs.

Beavs need the bats to get going to make it out of this regional. Grind out at bats vs the other teams and expose their bullpen depth. It’s hard to see them losing but I can see them making the games closer than they should be.

  42. I love that they got the #1 seed. It means that through the whole tourney, every time they show Oregon State, it will have that little #1 next to them. That’s a sweet little subliminal advertisement.

    • Agree, but what is baseball america thinking putting Louisiana-Lafayette #1? 5 teams make the tourny from the pac-12, 1 makes it from the sun belt. Strong conference vs weak conference. What a joke.

      • and the SEC gets 10 teams in and the ACC gets 7. That’s what’s a fucking joke. just over 1/4 of the field from those two conferences and one of them hasn’t won jack shit since 1956

  43. I could easily see Fullerton winning the Stillwater regional and winding up in Corvallis for the supers. But I could also see us not getting out of the regional if the bats don’t wake up

    • Fullerton started the year ranked #1. I saw OK St at Texas this year and Okst was playing some good ball but their Friday night guy didnt seem as strong to me.

  44. Slap in the fucking face by ESPN. Lists the Corvallis regional site as Reser Stadium???? I sent an email to ESPN telling them to correct their asinine mistake. Took a screenshot as well. Anyone want to post to twitter since I don’t? I take that as a slam that they have no clue where the beavers play baseball……………………..

    http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/page/14baseballsked/2014-ncaa-baseball-tournament-schedule-results

  45. Is this kid Confort’s replacement in LF?
Clackamas’ Elliott Cary named Gatorade Oregon Baseball Player of …
    highschoolsports.oregonlive.com/…/clackamas-elliott-cary-named-gatorade…
23 hours ago – Elliott Cary of Clackamas High School has been named The Gatorade Oregon Baseball Player of the Year. Cary is the third Gatorade Oregon …

        • A fellow Milwaukian, eh?
don’t worry, I have nothing against Milwaukie. I grew up there actually, but lived closer to the old Clackamas school, so that is where I went. Actually took some classes at Milwaukie my Sr. year since they weren’t offered anywhere else in district. (I think the teacher was Chuck Knopp? Does that sound familiar? Been quite a few years and my memory is fading fast)

Three Rivers League is representing in AB today.

          • Another CHS grad here. The rivalry was so fierce when I attended that they retired the Victory Bell because a fight always broke out. The only thing we agreed on was F Putnam! Alas my best friend and OSU roommate was a Mustang who I met at CCC. I always figured if we could bury the hatchet after high school peace in the Middle East was possible.

          • Chuck knott was the head track coach, taught business law, drove a camaro, and had one saaweet mustache. Good dude. I ta’d for him one semester. Good rivalries back then. Now milwaukie is 5a and clackamas is 6a with the lakes. It’s strange…

I was just playing. Had several friends at both clack and Putnam. Good times.

          • Knott. that’s right. One of my favorite teachers and yes, the mustache was perfection. He taught an advanced accounting class i took with kids from Putnam and Clack.
Who was the drunk guy who taught PE at Milwaukie?

          • Drunk PE teacher? Hmmm, That’s a tough one. You’re gonna make me go back to the year books when I get home tonight… Off of memory, I had Webster who was our baseball coach for a while (and I think Clackamas’s before that?) who eventually left for Jesuit but he wasn’t a drunk. Rick Ward was the football coach (former NFL punter) and PE teacher, didn’t seem like a drunk. Buckles was another who was the former head football coach who could be rough around the edges at times, but was a good guy and didn’t come off as a drunk.

Calhoun was the former Basketball coach, and a history teacher or something (got turned into the head of the pilot Electronic school for troubled kids when I was there). I think that’s who you’re talking about. He was a definitely a Drunk lol. He had a couple sons that went to Clackamas who were good guys

          • Calhoun, that’s the guy. I’m totally talking out of my ass here because I never even met the guy, but there were legendary stories about him.

          • I never had him as a teacher, but always had good interactions with him. One of the funniest things I ever saw tat school involved him: I ran track (actually just did field events so can Jack when you get a chance can you please let me know if there’s a better term since I didn’t really run?). Our pole vault coach was a volunteer who would bring a large trampoline to practice sometimes to help with the aerial acrobatics training. One time Calhoun was walking by, and asked if we could get off for a second. He kicked off his shoes, hopped up there, and this 50+ year old with a big beer belly started busting out back flip after back flip. Casually jumped back off, slipped into his loafers and walked away.

    • This is assuming he doesn’t turn pro. He’s listed at #136 in baseball america’s top 200 draft prospects. That’s a 4th or 5th round grade.

It definitely be a coup if he shows up on campus. Based on his story, it seems like he is really committed to the program. He committed while down in Florida and then he moved from Florida to Oregon this last year.

  46. Not a lot of comments this week. Are we all just holding our breath for the weekend? I agree with Angry, this is the most predictable best time to be a Beaver fan. Hopefully the good times continue! Any scouting reports on the Bison or the AntEaters?

    • Well, lets see…. This thread is about our series with USC, and that’s pretty dead. No thread yet about the upcoming CWS regional…..I guess it must be way in the future.

  47. Congrats to the whole OF, Wetz and Fry for All-Pac first team honors. Conforto and Fry named position and P of the year.

I guess it’s not that hard to justify Fry over Wetz as POY. But he did only beat Ben in SHO (3/2) and SO (71/56). Ben was 9-1 with a 0.80 ERA and a .153 BAA in 10 games (78.2 IP) while Jace was 8-1 with a 0.92 ERA and a .159 BAA in 10 games (78.1 IP). The numbers are more pronounced when we add in non-con games.

      • Does that factor into on-field assessment of play? Or are you saying the conference is looking to make a statement that mitigating factors also factor into the decision?

I’m cool with the decision. I just like it more when the numbers are clean.

        • Ben also has the #3 WHIP in the country.
          http://stats.ncaa.org/rankings/change_sport_year_div

Jace ain’t no slouch at #24, but #3 is pretty damn close to perfection.

I do not like now, nor did I like when the bracket came out that Eshelman, Wiest and Gauna are loaded up in the Stillwater regional opposite ours. If their run support even hints at success the college baseball world is in some serious trouble.

        • A no-hitter gives you extra-credit. Also Fry’s fastball has better velocity and movement and I think has more upside to make it to the majors. And wasn’t Fry 3 times pitcher of the week, Ben just once.

          • Yes, and you could argue that because Ben pitched on Friday nights it’s even more impressive since the pressure of the opening game is greater and you’re facing the opponents best thrower so there’s less room for error. So in the end we agree, Ben deserved the honor. At least they didn’t give it to the huskie.

  48. Since it’s a slow day, i thought I’d share this story I happened across when researching potential vacation destinations. This time I was researching Tenerife, Spain. It’s always been intriguing to me so I decided to learn a little more about the island. Here’s one of the first stories to come up:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/spain/8513028/British-woman-beheaded-in-front-of-tourists-on-Spanish-holiday-island-Tenerife.html

Have to admit, Tenerife isn’t looking as attractive to me after reading that. Dear lord….

    • Little known to most Americans but one of my favorite places on earth. Check out Biarritz in France. Great beaches and restaurants. Five hours by train from Paris. Take a day trip down to San Sebastian in Spain. JB

PS: Don’t even think about taking little baby _violator a perfect place for unencumbered couples.

      • My parents love that town. I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard stories. The French national parks are within distance. Pamplona is just across the border. An extended day gives you access to Basque country.

I want to go there. I also want to visit the Canaries. Alas, my visits have only been to northern Europe.

Random once in a generation homeless dudes beheading holiday goers be damned! I’m going there one day… and to the NE Spain/SW France area too.

        • I ran with the bulls last summer in Pamplona. Arrived in the city around 11 PM and stayed up all night in the streets until the run. Easily one of the most nerve-wracking but also rewarding experiences of my life

Northern Spain does have some great beaches though, with what seemed to be a smaller amount of tourists than you might find in the Canarias, Baleares, Barcelona, or other southern destinations. The provinces of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country in that area are all really pretty, and are home to some of the more unique, less well-known subcultures in Spain.

          • That whole area of northern Spain and SW France consider themselves Basque regardless of which side of the border they live on. It creates a polyglot of languages and signage, fundamental French/Spanish seems to be the common denominator.

We’re in the final planning stages of a return this summer. Will never forget Bastille Day 2007 on the beach in Biarritz. JB

          • Sorry, but northern Spain is not all Basque. Galicians are closet Celts with a touch of Portuguese. They do not consider themselves Vascos. Some people believe that French Basques and Spanish Basques are just one big happy family. Some people think that all Chinese look alike too.

          • The blonde haired Chinese are more than a touch Swedish and speak Mandarin with the distinctive Scandahovian accent. They also make their fortune cookies out of lefse dough.

      • Jb- you get around man. Retirement has treated you well. Must be a nice pension you walked away with.
I still Dont get how somebody can walk into a crowd of people and cut another persons head off without anybody knocking him the f out. i mean, that cant be an easy task even without a crowd of people nearby.

        • No pension. Walked away with enough to live off of properly invested returns. Was not interested in being committed to a life long contract with a corporation.

I hope you and Mrs _violator are taking advantage of long term financial planning opportunities. Time is your friend if you start early, delay and it’s almost impossible to catch up.

Been all over France, highly recommend. JB

PS: Are you watching the Fargo series on FX? Billy Bob is worth it all by himself.

          • Fargo is a tv show? Haven’t even heard of it. I’m pretty out of touch with TV over the last year+. I’ll have to check it out. FX gets some good shows on occasion.

About the only show I’ve been watching this year has been Silicon Valley on HBOGO. Episodes are short so it’s easier to sit down for an episode every once in a while.

Was watching Justified up until this season. The first few episodes didn’t hold our interest so we stopped after 4 pretty good seasons. Not sure why they thought bringing in Michael Rapaport to play a southern criminal was a good idea. His accent was terrible, and the writing on the show went south quick this season.

  49. A few days ago I had said on here that two women’s sports coaches had been fired. One was the head women’s golf coach. I found out today from someone that the other one may be the women’s rowing novice coach, Andy Foltz. Unknown if he was fired or if he quit on his own. He was with the program for only one season.

  50. OT – People here have identified U. Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Leopold as a great candidate for OSU’s head football coach. The school has been on a tear lately, winning national championships in football, basketball, and recently baseball. Maybe OSU needs to pick up the AD first, then bring the coach:

  51. A friend of mine went to one of the road show events and Tinkle was present. Tinkle said that it was unlikely that Manderson would come aboard but was hopeful on Oliver. Nothing on Faust but I doubt he’d come since it was CR he committed to.

So 3 of 4 isn’t so bad. It will also leave 2 scholarships open next year( a good thing bc if Manderson comes aboard, they would only have 1 scholarship left for 2015). That would mean only his son could sign.

    • Several in the student section anyway. Anyone know if there’s a check made on those seats?

I know a guy that spent all morning, the first day of sale, trying to get tickets, online and through an agent. The only thing available at that time were GA. When he finally got a hold of someone at the ticket office they made it sound like they were not many of those left either.

      Should be a packed house

  52. Still H2O regional is interesting. Three very good teams. I would not be surprised if any of them win it. Hopefully they wear each other out. Go Beavs!
