    • LOL!!! That sign was AWESOME!!

“Hey Refs! Don’t make bad calls, and we won’t BOO you! Go Utes” lol

Oh, and now they’re stealing the Wisconsin “Jump Around song” Hmmm…..

      • I remember when the Utes were at their highest with Majerus and Andre Miller running the show. Fun teams to watch. I think they’ll get back to being a good program, will take a lot of time though.

        • I remember the Utah team with the kid from Central Catholic that lost to Kentucky in the national title game. Michael Doleac was a kid that wanted to be a Beaver and Anderson offered him a chance to walk-on instead. Big mistake!

  1. Burton is trying to do to much because it looks easy. I wonder if CR ever pulls Burton aside and says “stop doing stupid shit out there”?

  2. Beavers starting to create a little separation. Defense has looked better so far. Just need to stay focused and step on their throats.

  3. Better teams get the benefit of the doubt with refs. Beavs do need to take advantage. Utah losing Majerus is like what OSU went through losing Miller. Kind of surprised that Boylan didn’t last because I thought he did okay.

  4. I’m sorry, but within the context of the offense Starks reminds me of none other than Calvin Haynes at times. I know they are a lot of postive things from Ahmad, but when he starts dribbling back and forth at the top of the key…..

  5. So far, it seems to be a case where the Beavs length and athleticism is overwhelming the Utes but not much else, because otherwise if they could hit an open shot they would be up by 25.

    • Agreed. The Beavers outside shot has been off all night. Nice they can be up double digits at the half and not make an outside shot.

  6. Trust me, when I lived in SLC and the Utes had Andre Miller, Keith Van Horn, Michael Doleac, etc. home games were not this lame. This is an embarassment. If I ever come across Rick Majerus I’m going to bitch whip him just on prinicipal!

  7. See, I would call a time out and rip their asses off for coming out of halftime and letting the worst team in the league get two layups, but I guess that’s why I only made to the YMCA leagues as a coach!

  8. 8,404 is the announced attendance according to Mike Parker, but he’s saying it does not look close enough to that amount of fans in the seats to warrant that number for this games crowd. Who knows…could be like Oregon….We sold 8,404 tickets to this game, so we have an attendance of 8,404 for this game.

  9. I certainly hope this is not going to be the case, but this feels like one of those stupid non-conference games last year where they would lead Texas Southern by 7-10 points most of the way and then fall apart in the last 5 minutes. Time to put these guys away.

  10. Nice minute and a half stretch for the Beavers to open up a 15 point lead. Beavers pulling away and look like they may blow the Utes out.

  11. The thing that I like right now is that OSU is feeding it in to the big men instead of trying to shoot from the outside. I don’t know if it is the altitude, bad rims, or the Beavs can’t make an outside shot, but they are not wasting time going to the big guys when they need a hoop. Beavers are 0-8 right now from 3-point land.

  12. Sloppy passing and D…too many 3 point shots.
Yeah, they are going to win, but they’re exhibiting the same problems they do in loses. It’s just that they got a weaker opponent.

  13. So many defenders seem to forget that Collier is left-handed. Kind of shows that some players don’t really listen to their coaches!

  14. I don’t get why the Beav are getting so many shots blocked lately. Cunningham is having all kinds of problems finishing around the hoop today.

  15. Talk about bitter/sweet.

Sweet – they televised the game.

Bitter – they televised the game. It’s much worse when you can see what’s going on.

  16. c-rob emptying the bench. i’l give the beavers credit i didn’t think they’d put themselves in position to end the game with the scubs on the court. still a pretty underwhelming win but 15 wins feels mighty nice.

  17. The Beavs should beat these guys by 40 at home, but if they don’t start getting better play from Starks and Nelson there are more losses on the horizon.

    • Starks and Nelson play much better at home. If they have any losses because of those two’s struggles it will come on their last road trip of the regular season to the Bay Area. Both will play well in their final 5 home games. They feed off the crowd.

  18. Watched the web feed for the last 10 minutes of the game. Glad OSU got the win. But Larry Scott needs to have a talk with the Utes. This whole production had the look and feel of a summer league scrimmage, not a PAC-12 basketball game….

  19. 18 point win is nice. The defense actually looked better and improved. Utes had open looks at threes but the majority of those were when the game was well in hand. Barton gave the Beavers some really good minutes, same with McShane. Beavers have won 4 of 5 now. Big couple home games against the Cougars and Huskies. If they can win those both this team will have a lot of confidence heading into games against the Cardinal and Bears in the Bay Area.

  20. Beavers handed the Utes their 2nd biggest home loss in conference play. They’re a bad team but they haven’t exactly been getting blown out every time at their own gym. They had control in the first half against Oregon for a while and nearly beat the Huskies in SLC. They also made Stanford sweat out a game at Palo Alto. So, I wouldn’t be too hard on the guys. They played a lot better at Utah than some other teams who are ahead of the Beavers have.

    • He’s a decent three point shooter as well. Not really a good ball handler, defender or rebounder. That’s likely why he hasn’t received more time.

        • No, Starks actually gets his fair amount of steals, is a good ball handler and in all honesty Craig just likes him as a player a lot more. He’s a guy that can really go off when he gets hot. Rhys is a different type of player than that. Starks will have some bad games here and there, but Craig takes that chance because he can get games from Ahmad like the one he had against Cal.

          • I know. He does take some really stupid shots however. The end of the Civil War highlighted the bad side. Jared should hog the ball at the end of close games.

    • Edsall #3. The word in Minneapolis last year was that he had accepted the job at the U of M. They were in the process of setting up the presser and he called back the next morning and told them he had changed his mind. Glad he did. Low class to his team at U Conn when he took the Maryland job. Bet they wish they still had the Fridge!

      • Ralph got so screwed by Maryland. They never thought he’d turn that 2-10 team around like he did. How do you get ACC coach of the year and get canned?

  21. I think it sets up nicely for another true test to see if these guys are up to the challenge and for real. I gotta think Wazzu is a win (especially with Faisal out for the season), so it’s 6-6 with a chance to go above .500 and beat the Huskies in a statement game. Will CR have them ready?

    • Huskies are going to be tough. They always have more talent than their record indicates- seems to be a motivation issue to me. Beavs got to show up with some hot shooting and play some defense. Going ot the game and hoping for a full house. Go beavs.

  22. to the guys that come through with the game links.: much appreciation. Can’t catch the guys on regular TV (you suck Root) and appreciate the posts. This buds for you.

  23. With 7 regular season games left, the basketball team needs 5 wins in order to reach the 20 win mark. The majority of the remaining games are at home and getting 5 more wins seems possible.
I wanted to see which games OSU fans think we can win to get to that 20 win level.

  24. Only a thought and not sure how one would even have a clue, but is it possible that the mbb players have doubts about what CR has them do? I imagine players on any team question the coaches from time-to-time, but the ups and downs of this year’s team make me wonder about the team’s confidence in the coaching. Also, as much as I’m not a UO fan, I do enjoy the fb and the mbb coaches short, to the point statements. Kelly: Shut up! Altman: Nope, we just didn’t get it done. Craig Robinson would have given a seminar about life in general.

    • I’m not sure I understand the premise.

      Kelly: Shut up!
      Altman: Nope, %#$@#$ we just didn’t **&^%#$ get it done… %^^%$#@#%!!!
Robinson: I’z sorry mazzuh! We can do bettuh mazzuh!

      Clarification?

What friggin world have you been watching? I usually respect your comments about off-sports, because I believe all our kids deserve credit for their work. And I’m not going to put you in the same hole as most who I have longed to call out for their stupidity.

But I will point to this moment as a moment that is detached from reality. If it would have been created by…or about… anyone else, it would be instantly flagged as polly-piranha fodder. But it comes from a welcome voice.

      Why?

There is no drama involving this team. The coaches and the talent mesh very well. Both would like for two shots to have taken a couple inches here or there. But that’s about it.

Have you failed to watch OSU hoops for the last 15 years?

      That might excuse the question.
