16.Dec.2012 Chicago State @ Oregon State
Game thread.
Start time is 4pm.
Go Beavs
| angrybeavs.com A Critical View of Oregon State Athletics |
Looks like he was “pushing” a guy with his arm. Wasn’t really an elbow. If you read his lips looks like he said “get out of my face man.” I think someone was running their mouth at him. So he made them back off.
It might still be too early to tell but right now its looking like it might be another sub par year. Beavs current RPI is in the 150′s. Eyeball test says panic.
You may be right about the eyeball test, I know comparative scores can be a slippery slope, but apparently Portland St. and Chicago St. have gotten a little better since last season or else the Beavs are a little worse or it’s a combination of both. I’m not real excited about what I’ve since the last couple of games overall. Quacks are coming up quick, I think that’s the first test.
Another impressive (?) win over another City State University. Who knew there even was a Chicago State? Is there such a team as Boston State or a Salt Lake State we could schedule? JB
Broughton maybe?
Found this a couple days late, but it looks like Mattison still has us on his short list.

think you’re right. Peko has updated his twitter page with a photo of him on the plane back home, wearing an OS hat. From reading through the babble, it sounds like he gave his verbal over after his weekend visit.

this link will save you the trouble of trying to read through the tweets
Could be. I didn’t pay attention to his Twitter pic earlier, but it’s him on the plane home with an OSU hat on.
Damien Haskins, 2A Offensive Player of the year in TX. http://www.news-journal.com/etvarsity/high_school/new-boston-running-back-named-class-a-offensive-player-of/article_bae0bffc-4867-11e2-ad4a-0019bb2963f4.html
I’d love to see L. Mattison in orange and black, but I’m giddy about Haskins. “Haskins carried 197 times for 2,700 yards and 47 touchdowns in the regular season and finished the year with 288 carries for 3,207 yards and 52 touchdowns counting the playoffs.
Jared cunningham drops 15 and 26 over the weekend in the d-league. Even threw in a 360 dunk.

Not that this deserves the same hype it got when it all occurred, but this event deserves closure.

jesus. I swear some of these coddled athletes nowadays are ginormous pussies with egos the size of the moon. It’s called adversity. There are winners and losers. Not everyone gets a trophy and you don’t go off on the coach just because things aren’t going your way. When I was growing up if you got stomped, you went to practice the next day and worked harder because well, that was not a good feeling and you didn’t want that to happen again. Some of these athletes today just give up when the going gets tough. Of course our coddled society is to blame by everyone getting a trophy just for “participating”. To quote Dan Hawkins, “IT’S DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL! IT AIN’T INTRAMURALS! Go play intramurals brother.
I hate the stupid theory “that kids these days can’t handle anything difficult because society gives them a trophy just for participating” bullshit. Why does this theory have legs? I’ve seen it be referenced more and more in the last 2 years. I blame O’Reilly/Hannity! Those bastards!

Cerritos Community College DT Kyle Peko is off the board to Oregon State. Peko said he committed last night, but waited to make it public.
They are in on two other DL JC guys Edwin Delva and Lyndon Tulimasealii as well, both have us in the their sights. See Recruiting forum.
Hunt would round out the defensive class nicely. If they can close on Kearsley and Ross, and maybe sneak in a Dowling that would be a much better class than the recent years. But we shall see they staff in the past would not close down the stretch.
