  1. Asu favored by 4.

It doesn’t feel like the beavs are getting lucky right now so I’m feeling positive about their chances. A split is what’s needed.

  2. ASU is in a slow slide towards “trainwreck” territory and not the same team that beat Kansas earlier in the year. It will hurt the PAC’s reputation to see the early-season favorite fall below .500 in conference but the Beavs should win IF:

    1. Kelley stays out of foul trouble and protects the key against ASU’s penetrating guards
    2. Tres and Stephen are patient and wait for shots to become available instead of playing hero-ball
    3. Vernon, Washington and Reichle are trusted to get quality minutes and alter the flow of the game

It also wouldn’t surprise me to see Coach Tinkle clench up, play Tres and the Thompsons 35+ minutes each and lose by 10 because one or more have an off night. This game – more than Saturday’s – will give us an indication of whether we’ll contend in the conference or fall back to middle.

    • The exciting part of the UCLA game was Steve playing D from the opening tip. If he fouls out of this game, I would project him dropping 20 and OSU winning. If we go back to the soft front that was every other game this season, they’ll pick us apart from outside.

Oh… and make FTs. Ignore the man… er… whatever behind the curtain.

  3. 2 things I’m watching tonight among the other obvious ones:

-Is Washington’s wrist, hand, head okay

-Will ASU’s coach sub a guy out every time they make a mistake while throwing a tantrum like last year in Corvallis

  4. In the twitter feed earlier I found a little side note about ASU’s PG, Luguentz Dort, who was seen leaving the ASU practice facility in a walking boot the other night. But the same reporter says Dort went through a full practice and the boot is just precautionary. Seems a but extreme to where a boot if you’re capable of going through a full practice, but what do I know.

Anyway, Dort(I loved his Dort on Basketball videos back in the 80’s) is ASU starting PG and is averaging 17.1 pog. Luck O the Beavs almost guarantees he’ll have a career night tonight and then limp off in a boot.

  5. Lots of uncalled contact being allowed in this game. Not sure who that favors bit seems like it’s usually the home team that benefits from a physical game

  6. Amazing how much body contact ASU defenders are being allowed to make with no call. Knocking Beavs off of their drives or even out of the air on shots and it’s just a missed shot amd rebound for ASU. Beavs are starting to dig a hole, can’t make a shot.

    • Can’t disagree with that but these refs have A LOT to do with that. My biggest gripe is they seem to be jacking up too many 3’s due to the lack of calls when driving to the basket.

Beavs ball handlers are getting bumped, pushed and free prostate exams off of screens with no whistles.

  7. Just ugly basketball all around. Beavs defense seemed fine. Asu was making low percentage buckets and that Martin guy is all over the place.

Beavs weren’t finishing. Creating much higher percentage looks overall but just didn’t finish.

Even when asu was making their run, it didn’t feel like they were overwhelming the beavs. Just the beavs offense was bad.

Need to come out hot in the second half.

  8. Ducks get Wooten back and win at Mckale 59-54. Satan and the mild kitties will be pissed on Saturday. Don’t have a good feeling about the next 3 halves in the desert.

  9. Blowout in Tempe. Beavs are getting exposed for their lack of athleticism (and no true point guard.)

I think it’s reasonable to say that finishing .500 in conference play will be a challenge.

  10. Typical Tinkle teams. Don’t even bother to show up in conference road games.

*ducks were missing their two best players and still almost care back to win.

  11. Been hovering around a 10 pt margin for the last several minutes but haven’t been able to get much closer for any length of time. Down 9 with 3:20 to go

  12. Beavs wont give up. 1 pt game, 19 seconds remain. ASU ball.
Tinkle didnt get a charge which was a difference maker, but he came up huge on back to back off possessions

    • Tough loss but this team showed lots of moxie. They were down by 18 points and nearly comes back all the way. I don’t think Tinkle’s ankle is 100% as he fell multiple times. ASU is a good team with some quality wins so I think OSU showed very well. It’s tough to win on the road and it’s still a loss but they showed a lot of character not giving in and going down right to the wire.

  13. Devils hold on, 70-67.
Valliant rally, but couldnt maintain possession on a stolen in bounds pass amd ASU got 2 free throws.
ET air ball tying shot at buzzer

  14. I can’t help but feel that we should’ve rested Tinkle for the UCLA game. Hope that doesn’t come back to bite us later in the season.

      • Is the qualifying part a question mark? I heard Machado say this is the first time (that she could recall) all recruits have qualified academically in a recruiting cycle. I hope this guy would keep the streak going.

        • I don’t have any inside knowledge. It’s just always been a question mark for our guys, especially the ones that commit late in the cycle and have strong offer sheets.

  15. I think somebody asked recently when Jacob Ferenczi is visiting. There hasn’t been a date set yet. I really dont think he’ll be a 2019 class guy though, and more likely someone who signs and then joins the team later as a greyshirt, if he even ends up coming to OSU.

  16. Anyone heard if Christian Wallace will be on the roster next year? Just curious if he has departed and if so, if a scholarship has opened up.

    • Nothing definitive. He tweeted one day he was leaving, but shortly after he deleted it. I havent been counting him going forward, but nothing official has been announced.
Dude has a kid and wife, plus school to juggle. Not sure he has the time available to devote to a game he doesn’t seem to truly even care for. Hopefully he can find a way to “retire” and still finish school.

      • I have a wife, kid, work and still devote time to my craft, watching Beaver sports! lol

It’s really too bad, he just hasn’t seemed to figure it out.

          • Sure he is, unless you think he should quit football and just get his degree by taking out loans or put himself at a disadvantage by just not getting a degree and apprenticing (if he’s lucky) with a trade. There are other options for young adults. It’s not the NCAA’s responsibility to subsidize the NFL’s lack of a developmental league.

But it does bring up a decent point. Caring for dependents on that schedule is financially difficult. There’s no reason the NCAA can’t recognize those contingencies and create a financial aid system. I will never be sold on the idea a SA should get walking around money, other than per diem for road games. But I’m willing to let them have access and choose (or not) to take out deferred loans, up to a certain amount and with a full understanding of repayment guidelines.

    • Mama said on her podcast Smith has interviewed a handful of guys, but the posting got extended again. So we dont seem to be in a rush to fill that spot, or we’re not getting good candidates(or both)

    • Trump may be impeached (although I doubt it) but he will not be removed which is what really matters. Not only that but I bet he wins in 2020 too.

      Americans are idiots.

      • Yeah I think if he doesn’t get impeached he just gets stronger and wins 2020. He’s going to look like the winner tomorrow when he declares a National Emergency to open Government. He’ll claim he was the adult who cared about the workers while the Dems just wanted to block him. Dems don’t know how to deal with that type of mind. They’re blindsided.

        • I don’t think he gets stronger but Republicans will vote for him no matter what he does, he was right that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and lose no support.

Democrats on the other hand always find something wrong with the nominee and decide to vote 3rd party or stay home

Same will happen in 2020, and even if he does lose he will claim fraud and it’ll take the military to get him out.

          • He uses one liners to destroy people. e.g. Warren has zero chance after that 1/2020th Tweet. It’s genius. He’s a genius of manipulation and devastating one liners.

          • Not disagreeing but I blame liberal leaning people far more than I credit Trump, liberals expect a candidate to agree with everything they believe or they don’t show up which is an impossible standard, conservative leaning people support whoever the GOP nominates.

That’s why Trump won in 2016 and why he will win in 2020

          • Oh yeah, Democratic voters do that. They will likely get out for this one, though.
Still, he destroys people with one liners and seems untouchable due to his manipulation of law and people…I have low hopes for Mueller or his report ever seeing light.

          • Wonder if 90 year old Bernie will run again and split the vote? I blame Bernie supporters not turning out to vote for the current administration.

That and Obama roasting Trump at the White House Correspondence dinner unnecessarily lit a fire under Trump’s ass. Thanks Obama.

          • People think trump will win in 2020? Are you all paying attention? He already lost the popular vote, and his approval rating has dropped since he was inaugurated. Big factor: Republicans just took it in the tooshy in PA, WI, and MI. The 3 states crucial to trump’s win. trump is popular in the shithole states that have fewer electoral votes. Florida and AZ are trending blue.

          • Re: Election

Too early to say. GOP is no longer Republican, it is Trump’s party, so I’m not as confident as some that the conservative leaning public will simply support whoever the GOP nominates, will hold in 2020.

It’s only anecdotal, but I’ve had long time Republican friends tear up their registration cards this past year. They’re not voting Democrat, but they personally won’t vote GOP in its current iteration.

Even if GOP chooses to no longer support him, he has enough campaign funds to take his base & run a 3rd ticket to cripple the votes between the two traditional parties.

Last re: Mueller. Read the criminal indictments & referrals that have been released, as supposed to waiting on a report, as these contain the narratives. A report, if any, will only house what the SCO chooses to prosecute, what they could have prosecuted but chose not too, and remaining unresolved matters.

Enough pieces of the investigation have already been spun out to several federal and state AG offices, so even there is a preemptive attempt to end the investigation, it will continue. Any issued indictments already under seal don’t fall under the purview of whomever happens to be finally seated as AG of the DoJ.

And as last resort, the SC can opt to directly testify findings to Congress in person.

          • It has nothing to do with thinking like me, the only Trump supporters Hillary called deplorable were the racist ones, if you self identify as a deplorable, you are choosing to identify as a racist, that is your choice I guess

          • While that was possibly one of the dumbest things any candidate has ever done, at least she was honest about it. And yes, it’s the racists she was talking about.

        • I’m white and have pride in my nation. Does that make me a racist? Sorry man, that dog dont hunt. Being proud of who you are does not make me a racist. Amazing the abject stupidity that some people walk around with. They wear it like a coat. If they had anything on trump the statist shits would have got rid of him long ago. Trump being elected was a huge middle finger to the elitists and the status quo. We didnt vote for him because he was perfect, we did because he says kiss my ass.

          • Again, the only Trump supporters called deplorable were the racists so if you claim to be a deplorable you are choosing to wear the hat of a racist.

And if you think Trump is innocent you are also a fool to boot.

          • I’m white and have pride in my nation. Does that make me a racist?

straw man… and a bad one

Being proud of who you are does not make me a racist. Amazing the abject stupidity that some people walk around with. They wear it like a coat.

irony… being proud of who you are would mean we’re never having this discussion… you being proud of who I am has nothing to do with you continually defending yourself against ghosts of racism that nobody pointed at you

And it’s “that dog won’t hunt.” Grow up with the term, and you might know how to say it. Pretend to be something or someone you’re not, and it’s pretty obvious.

If they had anything on trump the statist shits would have got rid of him long ago.

If you believe in whacko conspiracy theories and have little to no understanding of civic procedure in this nation of laws, sure, stupid statements and ideas like this fly. The cops begin investigations for a reason. Let them finish those numerous investigations before anyone convicts anyone in the public sphere. Dumbshit is corrupt and stupid enough that his cronies are pleading guilty to felonies. The story on them was that they also did nothing wrong, according to the stupids. If you dislike the cops, jump on Dumbshit’s cop-bashing bandwagon. It’s all he has left.

Trump being elected was a huge middle finger to the elitists and the status quo. We didnt vote for him because he was perfect, we did because he says kiss my ass.

Are you a ten cent lollipop, or are you just a sucker? Unless you’re a Wall Street slug or a corporate lobbyist, the middle finger has always been pointed at you. I’m not saying Hllary wouldn’t have been cozy to the same people. But at least she was honest about it… or didn’t insult you by telling you she had no room in her policies to weigh the considerations of all Americans… as she might put it. Trump’s just a corrupt elected official who really hasn’t done anything except blow shit up.

Like them or not, there isn’t a major piece of legislation that has passed recently that wasn’t Congress’ doing. Like the lazy bitch he is, he just takes credit for it all. Even his SCOTUS picks don’t get through without the GOP Senate. He’s just some random dumbshit who was born to a rich daddy and managed to fail (constantly with the failure) upward.

A vote for him was a vote for the status quo, in spades… and with a whole bunch of mismanagement, hate, division, an executive who won’t do his job… and exposing those who did vote for him for any reason other than to just destroy our democracy as morons who think he’s in it for anyone but himself. If he wanted some stupid wall, he had two years to do it. The Senate passed the things he and they thought were priorities in those two years. That wasn’t one of them. This shutdown is not because a funding bill that he agreed to sign didn’t land on his desk. It’s all about him.

He can kiss my lily-white ass. And you can just go crawl back under the dumb rock. I’ve had it with his really stupid supporters. It was dumb of me to think they were decent people to begin with. Some I really respected at one time. That can’t be the case now. They’ve shown their stupidity when it comes to the cognitive bias of supporting anti-Constitutional ideals.

I don’t care what color I am, because it doesn’t define who I am. I haven’t been that shallow of a pretend person since the sixth grade. Sure, there are some items of heritage and tradition which I recall every now and then. But I’m an American. Race has nothing to do with anything unless people start fucking America up the ass just to keep brown people from diluting white blood. Those people already live in a hell borne of stupidity and fear.

            Holy shit!

I haven’t seen so big a group of whiny fraidy cats in my life. Whine whine whine… about whatever Dumbshit tells you to whine about, you scared little pissants.

          • Is Trump anything like the past 4 presidents? Not in the least. For that I’m happy. Your biggest bitch about him is his money. Lordy man they all are rich. They same things you hate trump for they all do or are tied to. Corporations. Scary big corporations. Your man Obama, Hillary and the rest are as dirty as can be but yet you can turn a blind eye and bitch about trump? If this guy is so dirty and corrupt then the inquisition will find it. It has been 2 years and we are all still waiting.
I have watched you hammer at people for awhile. You make good points jack, but your condescending attitude, as if everyone but you are idiots is, quite frankly, boring. I honestly do enjoy your thoughts on the beavs gor what that is worth.

          • Is Trump anything like the past 4 presidents? Not in the least. For that I’m happy.

That’s a really low bar that Dumbshit can’t step over. He may be unlike them in that his temperament is that of a five year-old, his extreme lack of intelligence, his excessive obstinance, his lack of honor or anything resembling it, his constant lies, his open manipulation of a party and the people within it with decades-old racist terms and ideas….

Yeah… he’s different than the last four presidents… in that his racism coupled with his constant failure as an executive caused the deaths of 3,000 Americans.

            For that, you’re happy.

Your biggest bitch about him is his money.

Huh? My biggest bitch about him is that he’s a pretend man with pretend strength and pretend patriotism. My biggest bitch about him is his lack of honor… his open racism and misogyny… his constant hate and fear-mongering… all caught on tape then unapologetically denied by the liar in chief. I don’t know what money has to do with any of that.

Does it say anything about the fraud that he would lie about the elite, privileged life he led in order to create the flimsy facade some people are impossibly dumb enough to believe?

Not really. It’s part and parcel of Dumbshit’s past exploits.

He talks himself up. He gets someone to give him money for the imaginary greatness he told of in his hype. He then skims off the top and chisels the real workers of the world to cover costs. Then he declares bankruptcy and makes us all pay for his misdeeds.

It’s just what he has always done. It’s what he will always do. He is scum. It’s not that he has any money. It’s what he will do for money that sets him apart.

Your man Obama, Hillary and the rest are as dirty as can be but yet you can turn a blind eye and bitch about trump? If this guy is so dirty and corrupt then the inquisition will find it. It has been 2 years and we are all still waiting.

Obama isn’t my man. I don’t expect you to know that, because you think a turd who fear-mongers with extreme otherisms is somehow not who he is and has always been. I highly doubt you know the nuances of the policies of which you speak. Unless you do or say something that isn’t wrapped up in this little hate-filled binary stupidity that your masters want you to believe, you’re just too stupid to see Dumbshit for who he is. Blinded by him, you can’t see a thing. Just call his name….

While I never voted for Obama, at least he’s a man. And he’s the second most honest POTUS in my lifetime, behind Carter. If you want to list the scandals, investigations, indictments and convictions side by side, you’re welcome to do so. I think it would be amusing to see you try.

The investigation into Dumbshit’s campaign and admin has been going on for 20 months. If you’ve ever dealt with a grand jury and financial crimes or wire fraud, you would know that 20 months is nothing. They are probably on information overload on a daily basis. Even something as simple as connecting dots needs to be done in triplicate.

Cutting corners (a common theme in Dumbshit’s life) will lead to an incomplete or even biased investigation… that eventually leads to the investigators losing credibility. The only one talking about it on almost a daily basis is Dumbshit himself. I think the world would have forgotten about it if he didn’t bring it up on an almost daily basis.

My condescending attitude toward the stupids may be boring you, but it also bores me. Can you imagine not denying Dumbshit’s true nature and his history, and then having to listen to the stupids infantilize their dear leader, the guy who says he’s not responsible for anything… unless it’s good for his PR game… then it was all his idea… even if it never was, and he couldn’t give anyone any real depth of analysis on any of it.

      • Hillary’s comment-

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it.

Half is what she said, half. That’s painting with a pretty damn big brush. Just because we dont think like her, or you. You people just dont get it and probably never will. We are not going to let you paint us into the corner and set the narrative.

        • Yep, and she probably underestimated….

Broad brush or not, she was quite clear about who she meant. If you choose to identify with that group, that’s on you but you are choosing to group yourself with racists which absolutely makes you deplorable.

Sorry, you don’t want to accept reality.

          • One thing you are right about, I will never get how anyone could support an obvious racist con man in debt to the Russians.

We agree on that, that will never make sense to me.

          • Lol. You are a dandy. Typical. Doesnt know me except as a guy who said he was proud of being white, of my nation, and I voted for trump. And so I am automatically part of the racist crowd. Of which literally there are 10’s of millions of. Because Hillary said. I’m guessing you cried the night trump was elected.

          • Typical Trump supporter, can’t read.

No, I said if you choose to group yourself with them, you are choosing to be grouped with racists, don’t blame me for your choices.

And btw, white pride isn’t a real thing.

I didn’t cry when Trump was elected but I did know it was gonna be a shit show and Putin was the real winner and that sure as fuck seems to be true.

Who knows, you may or may not be racist but I do know you proudly support a racist. Your choice, don’t be mad when you get lumped in.

          • That’s what you dont get, you try to group people you dont know into these baskets or boxes. Where I’m just living my life hoping to be left alone. And you and those like you wake up each and every day chomping at the bit to tell someone how to live or how horrible they are. Hell of a way to go through life.I do freely admit though that I happily celebrate my toxic masculinity.

          • Sorry, didn’t realize you were such a victim…society has been so mean to you. Sorry, now I understand why you support a racist conman that owes money to Russia…you’ve been treated so poorly you just had to destroy the country that treated you so bad….poor you…

            And liberals are the snowflakes…

          • Do I think there are 30 million racists in the US? Absolutely…

Even if there aren’t, that would just mean Hillary overestimated the number of racists not that she called non racist Trump supporters deplorable.

            Do you find racists deplorable?

          • Bend beav- I will make it easy for you. I’m proud of my heritage. I happen to be white. I will never be one of the apologists for things I never did, supported, or would ever support. Is this a problem? Is this somehow wrong?

          • This is what kills me:
            https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/04/race-genetics-science-africa/

It’s always been a little intuitive that this was true. But maybe that was because I grew up in a country that taught me that even if it wasn’t, it is here.

We hold that truth to be self-evident.

Anyone who wants to argue against the US Constitution has the right to do so, just like I have a right to point out they’re arguing with the US Constitution… to their really whiny dismay.

          • The fun part is how easy it was to get so many people wound up. I watched the video you posted. All I saw was an old Indian beating a drum in a nervous and kinda confused looking high school kid’s face.

The spin (HATE! RACISM! TOXIC MASCULINITY!!!!!!!) Was immediate and obvious, yet so bizarre. There was nothing happening in the video. There was a black kid there with them. Yet people who want to get wound up got wound up, like clockwork.

          • I’m late to this one. I appreciate the recap and the full video, I guess.

But I don’t know the people whose tweets are captured. They seem to be a gaggle of random stupid tweets.

Somebody punch a kid? Seriously? Doxxing a bunch of teenagers? Really?

At least there are a bunch of retractions from some of the tweeters who were just wrong about the initial reports. Try getting one of those from Dumbshit. According to him, Mexico is going to pay for bunch of prayer rugs… or something.

          • Wait til next year, probably good to shift away from race and over to heritage. I don’t think I was asking for an apology. No one has ever asked me for an apology for being white. How I look at my ancestry includes the fact that I have directly benefited from my ancestors being able to own land and have access to capital to own businesses while others at the present time don’t have that due to the race of their ancestors.

        • You people?

The people who earn those monickers by their words and actions are not created by “us people.”

You people… in an argument against broad brushes. That’s funny.

If you take Dumbshit’s supporters at their word (and I have no reason not to do so based on their actions), about half of them fit into those categories.

And you’re here trying to defend them… why?

They’re proud of who they are. They say so regularly. It’s sort of hard to miss with king birther diddling his phone constantly while on the job.

You elected a racist, misogynist, amoral and whiny loser of a pretend man to run this country.

You can own it, but you can’t say you love this country when that’s what you advocate by your choice of representation. None of that ignorant and petty bullshit has any place in this man’s country.

          • Got it jack, you hate Trump. In fact you cant go a day without a rant on here whether prompted by a political post or not. He eats at you. Oh well. And the alternative was Hillary Clinton. And that is someone I find as crooked, corrupt and disingenuous as you find Trump. I guess there were other options but let’s just say those were the two most realistic choices. I could honestly care less who a person voted for but the narrative here is that at least half the people who voted for Trump are racists. No basis to such a comment, no facts, just raw emotion built upon a narcissistic approach towards anyone that thinks differently than you. Or in this case votes differently than you. Just not bowing down to the bullshit. Think what you will, post what you will. It matters little as Trump is president and will be for 2 more years.

          • No

The facts are that Hillary only called the racists deplorable

Rather that is half or not is irrelevant, the only people called deplorable were racists.

And yes, that is quite likely at least half of Trump’s voters. Trump is racist and typically only racist people support other racists. Sorry to break the news to you but you just might be racist. Frankly, your posts hint quite strongly at your racism. That’s life, you’ve made your choice.

          • Read the National Geographic piece. Doesnt do it justice to say it was very interesting. If the term used should not be race because of the historical context of it, then what? Tribes seems to be somewhat in the same vein. Human beings seems to fall short because cultures are so different worldwide. I’m thinking I need to do a genetic test. Supposed to have some Irish/British blood. Had a full blood Filipino grandma- fathers side. Could be interesting. Thanks for the link.

          • Tribalism is a fair term. It’s still irrational in a country that prides itself in being a melting pot. But it’s real.

There’s nothing wrong with loving your grand’ma, her stories and her food. But to assign antiquated constraints on others because the old country did it, and one can’t mature enough to love that America isn’t the old country and allows all to live and love without constraints, is just wrong.

          • Oh well. And the alternative was Hillary Clinton. And that is someone I find as crooked, corrupt and disingenuous as you find Trump.

This brings up what really don’t understand. I get that ignorant and scared wusses will be willingly led down a garden path. I don’t get why they have to constantly say that quantifiable certainties are “just your opinion.”

Dumbshit has been found by a court of law to be racist (twice, once with prejudice), a money launderer (father bought millions in casino chips to unsuccessfully keep the failure running casinos… normally a profitable business for anyone who doesn’t skim first), a misogynist to the Nth degree (see: hundreds of lawsuits), a chiseler (see: thousands of lawsuits), and a fraud (see: tens of lawsuits).

While Hillary is more attuned to realpolitik, a policy that has failed over time and is actually a plus for Dumbshit in that he resists it intuitively, but doesn’t have the wherewithal to truly understand, she’s not likely corrupt beyond the already low bar legally set by the GOP due to the corporate purchase of campaigns.

Is it wrong? Yes. Is it corrupt? No more than the tax bill Dumbshit passed for the ultra-wealthy. Less so in terms of scope.

The only thing anyone can peg on Hillary is her refusal to at least give back profits gained from her escapade into cattle futures.

If there was anything to be found about her being corrupt, you can bet Dumbshit would have found it by now. He’s had two years of unfettered access to the full investigative weight of the US executive branch (and all of Congress’ powers at least friendly to the subject), and he’s found squat.

Shit… he can’t even get Mexico to lock her up.

            What a fucking loser.

None of this has been secret:
            https://foreignpolicy.com/2018/12/21/how-russian-money-helped-save-trumps-business/

He has been publicly known as a scuzz for nearly half a century. There is little doubt that what he has done in the past, he continues to do.

A loser is as a loser does.

  17. Both political parties are ruining this country. Trump is a symptom not the disease.

It’s time for a true Libertarian to break the monopoly.

          • He’s saying Libertarians live in an ideological fantasyland that is actually just wanting a government that reflects their individual needs, wants, and values.

          • I didn’t go down the racist trail, I simply told people that the only people who were called deplorable are the racists because that is a thing called a fact. Facts don’t change no matter how much you want them too.

          • Exactly, Bend.
The one Libertarian “friend” I had stole my property when he had the opportunity to do so. These people all just want their ideas met, not necessarily the best ideas for the Country as a whole. The same can be said of SJWs, Alt-Right, etc. It’s a battle ground and one will come out on top. Wish there were more moderates and reasonable people, but this is where we’re at.

Trump is a symptom of bigger problems.

          • The problem is the deepening of ideology of each side. The left is flirting with socialism and the right is becoming more totalitarian. A bill clinton era middle of the pack dem is now conservative in the new Democratic socialists eyes. The same for Republicans like the tea party thing from a few years ago but for the most part failed.
What really needs to be done is term limits for the Congress and the Senate.

          • There are term limits, they’re called elections.

I’ve never understood this call for term limits, if someone is good at their job and voters want them why should they be artificially limited?

If you want a wider variety of candidates, you need to have far more than 435 representatives, that number has not changed in a century, it is absurd to have 435 people representing over 350 million. It has made all elections national and until that changes nothing will change. Term limits won’t fix the issue, they’d just make the elections even more nationalized.

          • A lot of voters aren’t smart enough to do research of candidates and either vote their party or vote incumbents. That, and if you dont think those who are more or less lifer politicians aren’t getting kickbacks and salacious perks, you are kidding yourself. There is mass corruption on both sides. And its pretty much ignored, just because there politicians.

          • Voter stupidity wouldn’t disappear with term limits, I’d argue term limits would likely increase the curruption.

Term limits is a neat idea meant to make it look like you are trying to do something.

As long as we have greater than a 1:700,000 ratio between the people and their representatives they will never represent you. They simply won’t.

And then you look at the Senate where soon 70 Senators will represent 30% off the population while 70% of us are represented by only 30 Senators and it is east to conclude that America is yet another country being ruled by tyranny of the minority.

          • Mitch the Turtle has been KY’s senator for almost 35 years. No way someone should be in control that long, and he’s not doing a good job, and he’s not being voted out for many reason$.

          • “And then you look at the Senate where soon 70 Senators will represent 30% off the population while 70% of us are represented by only 30 Senators and it is east to conclude that America is yet another country being ruled by tyranny of the minority.”

Lol, what? Apparently you never heard of the house of representatives?
Maybe we should go back to pre 1913 like the framers intended? Guess what? the results will be the same, thats how the Senate works.

          • What the fuck are you talking about? What about my post (where I literally bring up the house) indicates I’ve never heard of the house?

I also never said I could change the Senate did I? I simply stated some facts about the Senate. And when they decided to give every state 2 Senators the framers could have never imagined that one day we’d have states with 30 million people and other states with less than 1 million.

I never claimed the Senate would be different, I am making an argument that given how the US population has distributed itself the Senate SHOULD be different.

          • Anyone that wants to make a government that’s already too big even bigger automatically loses any and all credibility. SMDH.

          • I don’t recall claiming the Senate would be different, I’m making an argument that maybe the founders ideas led to an unintended consequence, I doubt the founders ever thought we’d have states with 30+ million people and other states with less than or barely 1 million.

The unintended consequence of the Senate’s design is tyranny of the minority. I think it should be changed, the founders weren’t infallible.

After all, there was a time we didn’t vote for Senators at all.

          • Okay, I lose credibility for wanting people to actually have representation. I’ll die on that hill.

The founders assumed we’d have a representative for about every 30-60,0000 people, now it’s 1 to 700,000….no other democracy on the planet has a ratio even close to that. It’s more than double Japan which has the next largest ratio.

The fact that people don’t have a problem with that demonstrates their complete and utter stupidity.

          • Re: McConnell
Agree he is human trash but….
What makes you think Kentucky would elect someone better? And he doesn’t represent you so why is it any of your business? Kentucky voters keep electing him, I don’t care why. They aren’t required to keep him.

          • “Govt is too big” is a huge right wing talking point/brain washing campaign. Someone has the Hannity on. What is hilarious about that is the last two (R)s have both bloated the government even more then their predecessor (D)s. “End the FED” is about the only rational thing coming out of the Right right now.

          • Unless they are paying people to vote it is not a bad argument. If Kentucky voters want McConnell to represent them that is their right.

Getting the money out of politics is a different argument and we can thank the Supreme Court and their lifetime terms for that. If we want to talk term limits, we should be talking about the courts. Voters get to decide oncConnell every 6 years, federal judges get to stay till they die, that is a real issue.

          • You fail to understand an obvious truth.

Representatives representing less people forces those representatives to be more truthful. Lack of trust is exactly why more representatives are needed.

What representative do you think would have a greater chance of representing your interests.

One where you are 1 of 700,000 voices your representative hears from or one where you are one of say 250,000 people your representative hears from?

          • Federal Judges are a huge problem, no doubt.

Whiskey: I don’t trust the Government. But I don’t trust people with agendas telling me not to trust the Government, either.

        • Yeah… naive… sure.

Libertarians are the worst offenders of cognitive bias. They don’t even pretend there’s some sky deity out there to bridge the immense ignorance. They just boldly proclaim something, then reverse engineer a hop and a skip and a jump… just don’t pay attention to the numbers… or the extreme cherry-picking that created them. It’s not even cognitive bias by the time we’re done running any regressions on the macro scale. Its just laughable, except that people ignore the numbers to create some utopian bullshit reason to cut their own throats. Household finances are not scalable, let alone transferable to a macro system. The extreme leaps in logic (that really make no sense unless you have a vested interest in making people believe the lie) required to get to utopia are just ridiculous. The Soviet path to utopia made more sense. Just take it by force.

Why sucker morons into believing a fraud?

          • It depends on what you call free.

We’re defended by our military for free. Most of the overspending on our debt has been because of military largesse. And we get double hit because to raise military spending, we borrowed money from SS surpluses forever. So most of the interest pad on said debt is also because of military spending.

That money was spent on rapidly depreciating products and services. The military is kinda good at just destroying things. I honestly don’t know the return on military investment, but I would guess it’s less than dollar for dollar, even if we include the education and training provided to those who serve.

That brings up education, something which returns about double, dollar for dollar, what is invested. But in order to understand that, one needs to think of human capital as a stand-alone metric. It can’t be calculated as a commodity, as has been done for the last 40 years.
            http://siteresources.worldbank.org/INTMENA/Resources/EDU_02-Chap02-Education.pdf

George Carlin had it right 20 years ago. The baby boomers are the biggest fucking whiners of all time. They got everything handed to them, on a platter. And when they realized their utopia and the riches that came with it, their mantra became, “MINE!!!!”

There’s a cost to everything. If you listened to what people said, instead of listening to the really weak straw men entertainment channels like Faux News runs past focus groups then disseminates to the stupids by having a whole crony party and “alt” universe repeat verbatim and ad nauseum, you might actually make sense in the real world.

          • Oh… the only thing free that Bernie promised, btw, was public university tuitions. It would be paid by placing a tax on market trades.

f you think that tax is a bad thing, it’s the only thing proposed by a mainstream candidate for POTUS when it comes to the quants.

If you ask Mario Gabelli about the quants, you can probably sit for a half hour and wait for him to stop cussing.

Regardless, businesses say there’s a shortage of qualified labor supply… in a supply-side system. The supply-side resolution would be to subsidize the suppliers in order to get the commodity to market, like they do with corporate welfare.

But giving away free stuff to corporations is dandy. So let’s just go with the status quo.

People don’t get “free” stuff. Only corporations get free stuff… at ten times the clip people do… because corporations are people too.

          • To be clear, I’m not against supply-side resolutions when they are apparent. Technically, subsidized tuition at public universities and public trade schools (an equally important path for education and a qualified labor supply) is also corporate welfare.

Infrastructure is also corporate welfare. Business dominates the ratio of use of infrastructure. When you get in your car and drive to the store, that is in the business’ interest. They have already used that resource, given to them by our taxes, to get whatever good or service you’re using the same resource to go buy. If they aren’t subsidized in this way, their employees can’t get to work.

If their employees are unhealthy, same thing. Any capital input from a corporation toward health care is wasted as long as there’s a weakest link in our nation’s health. Having everyone pay into a medicare for all system would make that financial liability for businesses go away.

Think about it this way. When a business has a job opening, they calculate the value of that position. Say it’s $100k. Businesses know they have to pay unemployment and FICA taxes. But they also have to offer benefits. So the cost of said benefits will also be subtracted from that. If we gift our hypothetical business good standing as an employer, we can deduce that federal and state payroll taxes will total somewhere around 7%. And let’s say they have a one-size-fits-all benefits package that costs about $10k per employee. That means that a business will offer said position at $83k, plus benefits.

Now, the benefits are one-size-fits-all, so that means an employer wll reduce what they can offer a lesser position by a greater percentage, until there is no value in offering “plus benefits.”

If they didn’t have to deal with health benefits at all, that would be another $850/per month in the pocket of anyone who receives said benefits (assuming we have a good employer who wouldn’t just take the savings and roll them into profit… good luck with that).

Back when we had a clear mandate for a national health plan, this happened:
            https://www.counterpunch.org/2007/11/12/why-hillary-s-health-care-plan-really-failed/

At that time, I remember the GOP whining about how it was nationalizing an industry that was 7% of GDP. 20/20 hindsight shows they were fear-merchants doing their campaign contributors’ bidding… not that it wasn’t apparent then… or now, for that matter.

But the problem now is that it’s 18% of GDP. And the only reason prices outpace inflation is because everyone in the industry is just raising prices arbitrarily. There are no underlying costs putting upward pressure on prices. There are only businesses raising prices because they can.

    • “Both political parties are running this country.” Are you serious? Corporate America with all of the PACs and lobbyists are running this country. Both political parties are a mere mirage and sideshow. The President is a freaking puppet that doesn’t know sh*t from shineola.

        • The problem with that is that all of our forefathers fought for freedom from a corporation. They were highly skeptical of corporate power, thus, they limited corporate existence to two years.

If anyone here actually studied history, they would know these things.
          http://reclaimdemocracy.org/corporate-accountability-history-corporations-us/

It wasn’t until the 1870s that corporations started to claw back some of that power.

Libertarianism is simply a prognostication that a lack of accountability will lead to communism. You do yourself a disservice for chastising anyone about knowing what it is. Mostly, you do yourself a disservice because that supposed defense of an ideology based on about five leaps of logic that lead to utopia is the most common (and most boring) retort in supposed defense of it. You actually said nothing, then followed it up with calling someone a poopy-head.

          • The liberal bashing is in response to the one who made the play from the extreme liberal handbook of Libertarianism, Chapter 1, paragraph 1.

      • And why do you think that is? It’s because both political parties troll for power and money. The easiest way to do that is to promote crony capitalism. They have written legislation that allows the military industrial complex and companies that are “too big to fail” thrive. Much like Trump PACs and lobbyists are a symptom not the disease. Most people never bother to look deep enough to know what the real issues are. Reguitating spoon fed headlines is much easier.

          • You won’t get a clear answer. A clever proponent of libertarian “thought” would probably stall with something about merit, and other words that have nothing to do with economic thought.

Here’s a macro idea on the extremely poorly misread “invisible hand” idea:
It is in my best interest that all people with whom I come in contact are healthy, specifically free from anything contagious. Do I have to explain degrees of separation? Suffice it to say, it is selfishly in my best interest that everyone receives health care. Or… you can naively think the market will take care of you. Instead, the only reason heath costs in America are rising is because health costs in America are rising. If you were naive like me, you would realize that businesses don’t have to do business in countries with price controls.

But they do… and they still make a profit… which can be argued as amoral, given the subject, since it’s me being selfish… but ameliorated with the recognition that incentives are necessary… just not on the Laffer-able level.

  18. WBB Final: Beavs win 86-64
    Only 6 TO’s, and shot 15/17 FT’s, 47.8% from 3pt.

Pivec 32 minutes, nice to see she didn’t have to go 37+, partly cause she got bumped in the nose and required gauze stuffing……….how’d you like to play with a stuffed nostril.

KT 11pt, 4 Reb; showed a nice turnaround jumper we’ve not seen much/any of before.

The Realtor comes to Gill Sunday at 2, PAC12 net. She’s gonna be on fire, having given the phemale phighting phils all they could handle tonight.

  19. Tres Tinkle was pretty good at 3s year one. He’s awful now. Weird. What happened?

We stinkle, but at least it’s best to know that now so we can do other things.

  20. Pretty tired of the ‘we suck at basketball’ narrative. This team is pretty fun and has some good talent. That being said the officiating is ruining the game. Too many fouls

    • Pretty tired of the ‘we suck at basketball’ narrative

Better hope we land some 4 or 5 stars who aren’t coaches’ sons, then. They are better than last year and mildly intriguing, but true colors are showing on this road trip. Pretenders.

      • Agreed

I don’t mind the idea that OSU is gonna need to develop guys and have upperclassmen to win but if Tinkle can’t get this team to the tourney I don’t see him ever getting a team there.

  21. STj is so inconsistent, world beater one game, totally disappears the next. I agree if you can’t at least make the tourney with three Top 100 players in your starting lineup you are never going to make it.

  22. I think it’s kind of scary that no other players have really been developed (if you could even call it that) other than the coaches sons and I guess you could argue Drew Eubanks to some degree. Other than that, it’s a mixed bag of stagnation or transfers. They will be ok next year and then I could see a complete collapse and along with it the end of WT’s tenure.

    • Maybe the loss of the Thompson twins and lil tink will cause wt to have to focus on the rest of the team, thus leading to improvement?

  23. I retract my comments suggesting we have threads on away games. In fact, perhaps we shouldn’t have threads on any basketball games except for the women. From many of the comments above, I’m afraid some of you are going to get so despondent you just roll over and die.

    • I for one am tired of excuses…..

Until this team/coaching staff/program can find a way to consistently be competitive on the road? I’m out. It’s the same bullshit we’ve been previously fed.

Slows starts in BOTH games this weekend ultimately ruined them. Why do they continue to tip off unprepared or fail to adjust early?

Figure it out. Shitty Pac-12 officiating doesn’t help either and there needs to be accountability in that department.

  24. Heard there was another kid from eastern Europe now playing for the Transylvania Werewolves looking to transfer. He’s 7′ 5″ 300 lbs. Kind of slow but could help. Check out footage attached: HUDL.com Frank N. Stein

  25. Hey, first time long time as they say. I have a question that has bugged me for a long time about how minutes are managed for foul-troubled players. I’m hoping someone can shed some light. . or maybe I’m not alone in feeling this way.

When a player gets in “foul trouble” he is almost always taken out for big chunks of the game in order to keep him from fouling out early and missing a big chunk of the game. Am I missing something?

How often does that player end the game with only 3 or 4 fouls? I am left thinking. . he didn’t maximize his fouls! If he fouls out at least you know you got the most minutes (and production) out of him as possible.

The only thing I can figure is that they think having someone like Stevie available in crunch time for potentially one or two big baskets is more valuable than the 20+ points he might get by playing most of the game but possibly fouling out?

    Please enlighten. . .

  26. Pretty sure cj recently questioned availability of WBB on the PAC12 net. Steve Gress of the GT has a piece which may be worth reading regarding how the PAC decides which games are on which flavor of the net.
He repeats the advice given here awhile back, saying:

“If you have access to one channel in your television source, you have access to all seven through Pac-12.com/live or the Pac-12 Now app.
…But I (Gress speaking) did run into a bug — I couldn’t cast the OSU-UCLA game from the app on my iPhone, or my laptop for that matter, to my Chromecast to watch it on my TV. The conference is aware of that issue and says it should be fixed with the next app update, whenever that takes place.”

    https://www.gazettetimes.com/sports/beavers-sports/commentary-pac–networks-has-quite-a-puzzle-for-women/article_0966589f-4f4c-5f81-97be-6d581db92339.html

Not sure how this “jinx of angrybeavs threads” thing works, but I’ll not be posting a thread for the game vs The Realtor at 2pm today……….on PAC12.

  27. WBB: down 33-26 at the half; cold shooting by both teams, but colder by Beavs….I think I may have seen just the glimmer of a smile by our gal, “the realtor”.

    • Agree. Bad no call. Can’t help but think that it’ll prompt some rule changes next year with regards to instant replay. Perhaps something along the lines of “if there’s overwhelming video evidence that a foul was committed that the replay official can stop the game and implement a penalty,” or maybe it would be something a coach could elect to throw a challenge flag for and have them review and a penalty could be added.

Even though they’re probably happy LA made it, they can’t be happy with that really bad call on a big stage in a crucial time of the game.

  28. Neither the Rams or Patriots belong…..that one big non-call for the rams on the would-be passing interference. Somehow the Patriots can trap the ball against the ground and it is deemed a catch, Brady gets touched and Chiefs get roughing the passer, Edelman gets away with that punt return somehow they over-turn the call when the video wasn’t overwhelming. The shit is getting harder and harder to watch. Should be Saints and Chiefs in SB.

    • But its the highest level of football, how could it be hard to watch? Ive been assured that nothing is better then the nfl. Oh and that Brady won’t make the superbowl because his team is beat up.

    • I don’t know what video you were watching but when you put all the angles together it was quite clear that Edelman didn’t touch that ball.

And it was not clear the ball hit the ground on the catch.

The replay officials got both calls right.

The roughing the passer was wrong.

      • 100% sure it didn’t hit his thumb, forearm, or shoulder….? It was not clear enough to OVER-TURN what was called on the field IMO, per the rules. Everybody was looking at his hands, but I thought it had glanced his forearm/shoulder area.
The bottom third of the ball was clearly trapped against the turf, which gave the illusion that he (Hogan I believe) maintained control — probably not enough to over-turn the called “catch” on the field, but whatever.
I saw about 5 out of 6 calls/non-calls go against the Chiefs or for the Patriots.
These refs should be the best, instead they spoiled both games. Oh well, will be looking forward to Beaver baseball.

      • Hey, they chose to support a racist con man in debt to the Russians that is forcing hundreds of thousands of people to work for free.

I have no idea why they support Trump, my guess is brainwashing from the church/parents but they might just be incredibly stupid, incredibly rich, or just actual racists. I feel bad for them if they aren’t racists but they are actively choosing to support a racist. If they can’t handle people calling them out for it, maybe they shouldn’t wear the hat.

And I don’t feel bad saying that, Trump supporters should be called out, they are responsible for turning the country over to a racist conman in debt to Russia. That is an act they should be shamed for.

        • Wow, sounds like you let trump live in your head rent free, let’s just take a few deep breaths and try not to be so hatefull, it would be good for your health.

          • You have no idea what my basis for my opinion is. And I won’t apologize for it either.

Anyone who still supports Trump (note, not every conservative nor even every Trump voter) deserves to be ridiculed. Frankly, they’ve earned the hatred sent their way.

I’m not gonna be nice simply because they feel attacked or claim to be victims, Trump supporters are a danger to the nation and should be shamed.

          • Excellent post Angry. I freely admit I can be stubborn when it comes to the politics of this country. But I cant understand the out and out hate for someone who voted a certain way or another. Trump is at times a baffoon but I sure would like to see facts where it shows he is an out and out racist. And one other thing, they ran Hillary against him. Lordy. As for the civil war comment. Keeping my powder dry here. To many nuts on both “sides” for me.

          • It’s not hate.

Why do you have to be told this repeatedly?

It’s the last vestiges of a misplaced respect leaving the conversation. If you can’t or won’t see what Dumbshit is and has always been by now, you’re a lost cause of stupidity. There is no respect to be had for you. It simply is not possible.

The good that has been done was not initiated or completed by him unless the only thing he had to do was sign something. That’s the extent of his honest abilities.

Dumbshit isn’t worth hating. Neither are his cult. They just are who they are, and the words in the English language that most accurately describe their true dispositions go hand in hand with their wish to be denizens of the gutter.

It’s now an inescapable reality for them. They have chosen their paths. They will suffer all the slings and arrows they have willfully chosen to endure as they walk through the valley of the shadow of Dumbshit and his corrupt, foul-mouthed, misogynistic, racist failure of an existence.

        • That’s right. Treat them as crappy as possible because they dont agree with you. Because you are just so sure they are wrong and thus horrible human beings. You surely are a poster boy for the raving left. Whatever my politics or beliefs I can honestly say I would never treat someone like these kids were treated. Ever. TDS is strong with this one.

          • You keep claiming it’s because they “don’t agree with me”

I’m gonna call bullshit on that. I’m happy to disagree with people on hundreds of things including politics but….

When you choose to support a President that is a racist conman in debt to Russia my attack has nothing to do with a disagreement, it has to do with your choice to support a criminal in the White House. That is not an opinion anyone should expect someone to respect. It just isn’t.

And yes, to answer your question. When it comes to Trump I am in fact correct. History will be on my sauce, that I am 100% certain of.

          • What I love most is now I’m a member of the “raving left” even though my hatred of a Trump has NOTHING to do with right vs left

Trump is wrong rather you are a wacko leftist, slightly left of center, centrist, slightly right of center, or even extreme right wing.

Trump is only right if you are:
            Racist
            Russia
            or
Rich and don’t give a shit about anyone but yorsf

If you aren’t one of those 3 things you shouldn’t support Trump. Not if you are a rational thinking American

          • Those are the only groups who should rationally like him, but he’s good at convincing people/populism, so he’s getting other groups, like people who simply hate Democrats. Seems more than liking Trump most of his supporters just hate Dems. I get it. I dislike Dems. I dislike Trump, too, despite foolishly voting for him. There’s no good solution right now in any Party, including “Libertarians”.

          • It doesn’t matter. People do it, so it’s reality. Nobody cares about respect or taking a moral/high ground position like you’re trying to do. Populism is winning right now, not just in the US but globally. Shaming or pretending to take the high road, like you’re trying to do, doesn’t work. In fact, it makes the problem worse and is a good part of the reason we have this Populist movement. A better approach is asking people what they’re thinking/how they got fooled. I mean, I voted Trump. I voted Obama. I got fooled twice. People seem unable to admit this. I can tell people exactly why I got fooled. With Trump it was a backlash vote against SJWs and being told what to think/say when I wasn’t thinking or saying anything wrong.

The Democratic candidates are getting more extreme. That’s going to help Trump, because moderates might not go there. It’s time to stop calling Trumpists stupid, ignorant, racists, etc and try to figure out their point of view. Then see if you can make any inroads with any broken logic they suffer from. I mean I’m simply preparing for Civil War because I don’t see a solution given both sides have dug their feet in and nobody is trying to understand the other side, just trying to denigrate it. Personally I think we’re fucked. We’ll probably get an extremist/Socialist next cycle.

I’m more interested in ending the Federal Reserve at this point. They’re a big reason for political issues right there.

          • Trust me, I understand that is the better approach, I’m just not capable of approaching it that way. Trump supporters are repulsive humans who deserve no respect or reasoned response from me. All there is to it.

I wish I could be the understanding opponent but that isn’t me.

          • Well, I disagree. I voted Trump, as did a lot of my family, and they’re good people. They didn’t like being called names and told how to think, which is exactly what you’re doing. There are people in the rust belt who thought he gave them economic hope. Neither group is disgusting. They were fooled for valid reasons. There are some disgusting Trump supporters, but yelling “racist” isn’t going to end racism. In fact, I don’t think anything can end racism except good experiences with other races. Pretending to play nice and being forced to say you like other races or forced to say gender neutral pronouns (e.g like society did under Obama) doesn’t solve the underlying racism; it just sends it underground where it boils and gains strength via all that repression. Then you get this massive populist/racist movement, and the Left wonders why…

          • I’ll talk to a Trump voter (I live in Bend Oregon, I am friends with many); I understand how someone could have been tricked in 2016 (sort of, the con was pretty damn anbious if you were paying attention) but someone that still supports Trump today is not worth reasoning with, as far as I’m concerned they are lost.

          • And your claim about what society was “forced” to do under Obama is bullshit. No one was “forced” to use gender neutral pronouns, that is flat out untrue nonsense.

          • Not by the Government, but by SJWs.
They’d one-up people, shoot video, and ruin their lives. Kind of like they did with that HS kid and the Indian. The kid looks pretty innocent. But his life is ruined. So yeah, you can force someone into acting a certain way by shaming them or threatening to ruin their lives publicly. It’s really backfired, though, because now we have a Global Populist/Right movement, and a lot of it has to do with that.

          • You do realize it wasn’t SJW’s that posted the video right? It was a bot account (decent chance it is Russian).

And if you let social justice warriors run your life you are incredibly weak.

As for the kid, I don’t feel too bad for him. Frankly a kid from an all boys catholic school in Kentucky is probably racist. Hopefully he goes to college and learns from it but I seriously doubt that kid isn’t racist right now.

And his life isn’t ruined. Everyone will forget about that video by Monday.

          • And if you let social justice warriors run your life you are incredibly weak.

            That’s a given.

There are still accounts of overbearing SJWs, like the Evergreen College students going after the prof there for decrying their insistence that organizational discrimination be implemented.

But there are many more instances of social justice whites constraining the rights of anyone who disagrees with their worldview. And much of that worldview is written into laws that allow the subjugation of the US Constitution.

I think the latter are afraid the former will rewrite the laws and take a page from the latter by doing what the former mistakenly do in the name of inclusion. I also think the latter are afraid the former will actually achieve equality.

Going by what they say and do, I know the latter are fraidy-cats. So there’s that.

Neither “side” knows we’re all just watching them wondering what the fuck happened to our country in the last ten years. Since when do people who say they want equality adopt the mentality of those who bring the abject stupidity of discrimination to the table?

Oh yeah… the half black Kenyan happened.

          • I don’t like any of the parties, per se.

But it’s disingenuous to conflate them all when one is platforming racism, misogyny and inequality. It’s even more disingenuous when they do so in the name of ostensible religiosity, at least it is in this country.

    • Intolerance of fascism is fascism, intriguing perspective gobeavs….

And yes, I am intolerant of Trump and the racist that support him. Proudly guilty as charged.

    • He has a point, though.
Freedom of speech is there for to protect dissenting, unpopular opinions. If everyone agreed, you wouldn’t need a 1st Amendment. If someone wants to be a fascist and talk about it they have the right to do that. Being intolerant of that is a problem because it means you have issues with the 1st Amendment.

This is why we’re taught in first grade “sticks and stones, yada yada”…because they’re words.

You’re not going to end racism by getting people to stop saying racist words. It doesn’t work that way. They just think it instead of say it, but due to the resentment of not being allowed to say it, it grows stronger.

      • The 1st amendment protects them from government prosecution; if one of these kids for wearing a MAGA hat were arrested I’d be appalled.

They have no protection from being called racists though, someone seeing someone in a MAGA hat has the same 1st amendment right to yell racist at them.

        Sorry, they don’t like it.

        • Right, you can call them a racist, and they can call an Indian “red man” or whatever else they want. People find those words hurtful, so they try to control other people. In doing so, they make racism stronger. It goes underground and builds. There are two ways racism goes away:

          1. You were naturally never racist to begin with/had good parents, temperament, etc.
          2. You have positive experiences with races you think you hate. (Democrats would be wise to focus their attention here if they want to solve racism. Bring races together for positive experiences).

No way that “stop saying racist words” should ever make a list on how to end racism.
Racism is a natural defense mechanism…people are tribal and stick to their own. So it takes positive encounters to end that innate, biological defense mechanism.

          • I’ve yet to see anyone go to jail for using racist words so not sure what your point is….

Should racists simply be allowed to say anything they want without anyone responding? Because that seems to be what they want and that simply isn’t going to happen.

          • Should racists simply be allowed to say anything they want without anyone responding?

            Yes.
I think that’s the best way to deal with a racist. Just ignore them.

What do we know about psychology? People like you best when you (a) ask about them (b) agree with them. Visa versa. They dislike you and dig in when you tell them they’re wrong. Think angry@angry (hah!). It’s hard to admit you’re wrong. Calling someone a stupid racist is just going to make them dig in and make it harder for them to ever change. The Left doesn’t seem to understand this. They shame. That does nothing positive. It’s creating a lot of problems. They haven’t figured out a good way to deal with the racism they don’t like hearing and can’t seem to ignore.

          • PS. When I was in HS I worked at a landscaping place, and two guys there were huge racists. After a few weeks of hearing that it got annoying to where I couldn’t ignore it anymore, so on a drive home I just said, “Guys, my dad’s black” with deadpan delivery, and their jaws dropped. Got dead quiet. I said, “psyche!”, and they started laughing, but they never said another racist comment around me again all year. So, in that case humor got them to shut up. Probably wouldn’t work with the militant racists, but for the people who aren’t totally gone it’s a good tactic. Did it solve their racism? No, but it got them to shut up. And it left them thinking I was funny instead of someone trying to tell them how to think. Much better IMO.

          • Yes, I understand psychology here but you are only looking at 1 side.

If you hear/see something racist a normal person wants to respond, that is the psychology of both sides.

You are basically placing the blame for racism on people responding to racism. That is just absurd.

I agree with the theory that under many circumstances ignoring individual racists or even ignoring racist demonstrators makes sense but ignoring racism in general is not a solution to racism. And expecting people to ignore it is as unrealistic as expecting racists to change their views if they are just ignored.

          • If you hear/see something racist a normal person wants to respond, that is the psychology of both sides.

Responding with “you’re a stupid racist” is about the worst thing to do, though.

I gave an example above ^ how I dealt with a few racists I’ve come across. There are many ways that aren’t going to make the problem worse.

          • Your story is interesting but really didn’t it just do what you claimed is a problem? Didn’t you simply force them to hide their racism?

I got a guy in my fantasy league (friend of a friend), huge Trump supporter, stupidly drafted Bell in round 1 and every week sent a meme to our group text calling Bell a porchmonkey and other clearly racist names. I very quickly discovered my league had 3 other guys (also Trump voters) happy to pile on with more racist jokes.

This is a league I’ve been in for 5 years, not once was a racist text ever sent prior to Trump being elected. That is the America Trump has created.

And I’m not gonna sit silent about it.

          • Trump didn’t create that America. That American went underground, organized, and got stronger because they weren’t allowed to speak their opinions.

Regarding my story, I don’t think so because I never said a word how they should think. I just made a joke that MADE THEM THINK for themselves. You have to ask: why did they become quiet around me all year? Something must have sunk in about the things they were saying. Saying hateful things feels good briefly because you get stuff off your chest, but when you sit and think about what you said you actually wind up feeling worse. Not the lost ones who are militant, but I think this applies to the people who tag along for the ride and have a “follower” mentality/personality. They can be saved. The guys on ZeroHedge or people writing Ron Paul newsletters can’t be helped, for the most part. Maybe good experiences with other races could help them if they ever bump into that, but in general it’s best to ignore or poke a little humor at those types.

I think shaming is the worst thing possible and a big reason for Trump and global Populism.

          • I guess our big disagreement is that I think anyone capable of joining in and not speaking up is already lost.

But maybe shaming them will make them look like the fools they are and prevent others from going down their road.

And at the end of the day, I’m not trying to fix the problem for society. I am protecting my own conscience and remaining silent while Trump and other racists control 2 full branches of our country is not something I can stay silent about.

            My conscience won’t allow it.

          • I took it out at the ballot box. Voted all (D) except for two positions. CO swings a bit, so the votes matter here. I then wrote Cory Gardner and told him what’s up.

You can do what you want with the shaming but I think it makes the issue worse. Maybe research psychology and see if there are studies on what shaming does and if there are good approaches to racism. Might find something better…the shaming is just as disgusting as the racism, IMO. One form of hate for another, and then people just dig in more.

          • I know the psychology
I also know the psychology of the type of people that support Trump like candidates.

People with open minds don’t fall for populist lies to begin with.

Shaming may not work, I honestly don’t care because again, Trump supporters aren’t changing their minds anyway. They need to be defeated, that is the only option

I recommend a great book on the psychology of people that fall for Trump’s act, it is free online

            https://www.theauthoritarians.org

            They ain’t being saved.

          • Fuck shaming.

This is what they asked for, all of it. This is what they’re going to get.

Just call a spade a spade, and watch as their collective whine turns your way. Do it every couple hours, just to check if they’re breathing.

          • You are basically placing the blame for racism on people responding to racism.

You’re intolerant if you don’t tolerate their intolerance.

  29. Wow talk about crashing back to earth for hoops. Bad weekend, hello middle of the PAC… Just once it would be nice to have a good team

  30. I’m kind of a fatalist, we live, we do some shit for a few decades and then we die. Politics is cyclical, who knows what this country will be like 500 years from now. I don’t care because I’ll be dead anyway. Be nice to others and most of the time you will get niceness back, but arbitrary shit happens. Not much you can do about it. Mankind is really going to have a dilemma if it survives long enough for when the sun goes out. That will be some chaos, even more then Trump!

    • Trump said he doesn’t care about our debt because he won’t be around when it’s a problem. I find that kind of thinking terrible/selfish. Other people who aren’t even yet born have to live with the consequences of that type of mindset. It encourages doing whatever you want (easy) instead of doing what’s best (hard), and those two things are diametrically opposed.

      • I just don’t care, we’ve had debt, we’ve had balanced budgets. It’s all a shell game for big companies to make big profits. Take care of your family, take care of your friends. The rest of it is beyond my reach and that’s the way they want it!

      • Note: he says that after promising to eliminate the debt within 8 years, said it would be easy.

This is my point, how can someone still support a politician that told them they’d solve the debt within 8 years to get elected and then turn around and say he doesn’t care once elected.

Trump supporters? How’s your chance, convince me.

        • Trump supporters? How’s your chance, convince me.

Some version of “but at least he’s not Hillary/we’re beating Democrats” is the only answer I’ve ever gotten.

          • Me too….that is why I no longer give them the benefit of the doubt.

Want me to believe you don’t support Trump based on racism I need more than “but Hillary or but democrats” because 2 years into Trump neither is relevant to current support for Trump

          • Why would someone waste their time trying to convince one person to believe something political on the internet. I will vote for Trump this coming election. First time republican. My reasoning is this whole wacko posting.

          • I’m not trying to convince, it is called venting.

I’m happy you admit you plan to vote for Trump simply because someone on the internet is mean to Trump and Trump supporters.

At least you are honest when you admit you have no actual policy reason for supporting Trump. Conservatives voting to ‘own libs’ seems to be all the Republicans gave anymore. Good for you I guess.

I’ll continue to vote based on policies I’d like to see instituted in America.

          • Why would someone waste their time trying to convince one person to believe something political on the internet. I will vote for Trump this coming election. First time republican. My reasoning is this whole wacko posting.

That’s about as circular as you can get.

            Nicely done.

        • “Be nice to others and most of the time you will get niceness back, but arbitrary shit happens. Not much you can do about it. Mankind is really going to have a dilemma if it survives long enough for when the sun goes out.” Jack McKalk

          • The sun will first expand and swallow the Earth before it goes out.

So if we survive it, we’re going to have to have the ability to be somewhere else, apparently having a dilemma.

  31. I’d be more interested if you can name a recent president who actually followed through on the majority of their campaign promises. Neither party gives a shit about the everyday American from my vantage point.

  32. “Your guilty conscience may move you to vote Democratic, but deep down you long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king.” – Bob Roberts

  33. Excellent post Angry. I freely admit I can be stubborn when it comes to the politics of this country. But I cant understand the out and out hate for someone who voted a certain way or another. Trump is at times an idiot but I sure would like to see facts where it shows he is an out and out racist. And one other thing, they ran Hillary against him. Lordy. As for the civil war comment. Keeping my powder dry here. To many nuts on both “sides” for me.

    • If you can’t recognize the obviou (re: Trump being a racist) I don’t know what to tell you. It’s not like he hides it. How bout the lawsuits he lost for discrimination in housing? The ad he took out for the Central Park 5? Claiming Obama wasn’t an American? Calling immigrants rapists and murderers? How many examples do you require?

As for bringing up Hillary (yet again), that might be an excuse for voting g for Trump, it is not a justification for still supporting Trump over 2 years later. It simply isn’t. No matter how much you want it to be.

      • Many people including some police as well the head of the sex crimes unit believe they were guilty. And still do to this day. Trump has always talked about crime and cleaning up New York before he became president. The Obama comment, while off the wall, doesnt mean he is racist. And there are plenty of criminals coming into our country. Many of them are rapists and murderers. Not a racist comment at all.
Remember this comment from ol uncle creeper himself, joe biden?
“I mean, you’ve got the first sort of mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a story-book, man,” Biden said.

Or the time ol slick willie himself joked that “this guy would be carrying our bags” in a comment directed towards Obama.

Was wondering if those were racists comments or not since you seem to be the moderator of what and who is racist.

        • Something else glossed over in that case……………….

Despite the fact they were “exonerated” in 2002, and I use that term loosely here, if I recall correctly 4 of the 5 admitted they held her down while “some puerto rican dude in a hoodie” was the guilty party. How would they have known that if a confession was coerced? This is what I don’t understand. If true, their conviction should have never been overturned. If you hold someone down while someone else is doing the raping, you are just as guilty.

          • Like I said, if you can’t see the obvious I don’t know what to tell you.

Trump is a racist, that is simply reality.

Keep your head in the sand all you want. I’m done. Every post you guys make just convinces me of how brainwashed Trump’s supporters are. You guys literally stopped living in reality. Enjoy it.

          • As for Biden/Clinton

More what aboutism’s feom Trump supporters, it’s all you guys got. If your only defense of the guy is “bit what about….” you are a fool.

          • Ok, I’ll bite

How bout the lawsuits he lost for discrimination in housing? I have to admit I’ll have to do some research on that

The ad he took out for the Central Park 5? I saw the Ad. The Ad in itself was not racist. He was calling for the death penalty for the guilty party and said “maybe hate is the answer”. I don’t recall him singling out any particular race. But I’m old and the brain doesn’t function as well. Feel free copy and paste what exactly was racist about it though.

Claiming Obama wasn’t an American? Claiming someone isn’t an American is now somehow racist?

Calling immigrants rapists and murderers? Believe he was referring to illegal immigrants. Some, but not all. Are some of them rapists and murderers? Yes. Just like some white people are racists and murderers. There seems to be some context here that you are omitting. But when you have your thought process clearly going one direction and aren’t willing to see anything past the blinders one is wearing, I can see how that can happen. Kind of like you lumping all trump supporters in the racism category. Some of them are, some of them aren’t. But lumping them all as racist? Not even close.

I’m not defending Trump. Didn’t vote for him either. But I will not vote democrat either. Did you forget that your own party fucked over Bernie Sanders in the primary? If they were willing to do that, what other extremes are they willing to go to to get what they want.

Anyone can be racist. It doesn’t matter what your skin color is. Go talk to a Japanese person and see what group they hate the most. I had the race card pulled on me at 18 by a black woman. It had nothing to do with her skin color. It had to do with the fact I just watched you put 3 bottles of wine in your coat lady!

Angry is correct. You want to curb racism, belittling others and lumping them into a category of racists isn’t the correct way to go about it. I’m not even sure that you truly know what a racist is after some of your posts. Promoting some positive experiences would. I could go on, but I’m not gonna go all Jack on here. You are part of the problem by belittling others for believing something different than you. But that’s a you problem and I’m sure “you’ll die on that hill.”

          • Ah, back to assuming I’m just a kissed off Democrat, you have no idea what my voting history is.

The Obama truther movement was 100% based on racism, how anyone can claim otherwise is ridiculous.

And I am not ignoring the context of him calling immigrants rapists and murderers, his context was quite clear and he wasn’t talking about a small group, he was generalizing everyone from Latin America.

I don’t know why I bother, Americans are idiots, give the country to Trump. We get what we deserve.

          • And yes, I am proud to not be on Mussolini’s side (the man Trump is truly imitating) or simply sitting silently while he takes over the country

          • I’d also like to point out I never at anytime labeled all Trump supporters as racist. That is you projecting. It’s not a claim I ever made at any point in this thread. As a matter of fact my first post on this was about the very fact that when Hillary said deplorables she only meant the racists. And those are the same people I’ve continued to talk about.

            And those people are deplorable

          • Re: Central Park 5

Where are you getting this information about holding the jogger down? The man who admitted to the crime (and whose DNA was there) claimed he committed the crime alone.

I’d love to get some of this evidence about cops still believing in guilt or that these guys held her down.

          • youngorst

this is from wikipedia (which any moron can edit, but you’ll have to further research other independent sources on your own if you wish)

Additionally, before the raped jogger was found, one of the other boys the police had rounded up, sitting in the back of a police car, blurted that he “didn’t do the murder” and named Antron McCray as the perpetrator. Kevin Richardson, who was sitting beside him, immediately agreed, saying “Antron did it”.[39] Later, after Raymond Santana was interrogated about the rape and while he was being driven to another precinct, he on his own exclaimed: “I had nothing to do with the rape. All I did was feel her tits.”

Four of the five confessed to a number of the attacks committed in the park that night, and implicated one or more of the others.[10][39] None of the five said they themselves actually raped the jogger, but each confessed to being an accomplice to the rape.[10] All five said that they themselves had only helped restrain the jogger, or touched her, while one or more others raped her.[39] Antron McCray said that a “Puerto Rican kid with a hoodie” had been the one who raped the jogger.[10] While he was incarcerated in the Rikers Island jail, Korey Wise told the older sister of a friend of his, according to her testimony, that he had only held the jogger down.[39]

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Park_jogger_case

If it wasn’t known until years later who the actual perpetrator was and those confessions were coerced, how did they know it was “some puerto rican dude in a hoodie”?

            Lucky guess?

“It seems impossible to say that they weren’t there at all, because they knew too much,” Armstrong said in an interview”

If in fact that is the case, I find it appalling their conviction was overturned. I was intrigued by this case many years ago and why I did some research on it. I have first hand knowledge of police outright lying or omitting things that were stated from a police report to make someone look guilty. It’s the art of persuasion. Like I stated you’ll have to research on your own, as many articles I read made no mention of the above facts in the case. Because the media does the exact same thing. The art of persuasion.

          • Claiming Obama wasn’t an American? Claiming someone isn’t an American is now somehow racist?

That’s one steaming pile of crap, right there. You probably think you deserve a treat after dumping that one.

Remember that he himself is just a dumbshit. The birther idea wasn’t originally his. It was just an idea created by racists that he finds credible enough to take over their nutso conspiracy theory.

He’s still stuck on it, as of last year. Just give it up. He is who he has always been. Just because you dislike some other side doesn’t make him the enemy of your enemy. It just makes you a sucker.

          • Dumbshit jumped on the Central Park 5 like everyone jumped on Covington Catholic kids the other day.

It’s what he does, except at that time he was deflecting from his many impending failures, and giving it just that genteel touch of racism, in the process.

          • … 4 of the 5 admitted they held her down while “some puerto rican dude in a hoodie” was the guilty party. How would they have known that if a confession was coerced?

            I had that question too.

The short answer is that there was a group of about 13 kids hanging out in the park that night when a “what’s going on over there?” situation came up. Those five went to investigate, saw the perp leaving, saw the situation, and left the woman for dead.

It’s an easy process to get five teenagers to tell your narrative once one of them breaks enough to tell you something true. You just latch onto that, then get the next guy to open up more, because the second kid knows somebody is talking about the truth. A little sleep deprivation and menacing (legally or otherwise), and they’re putty.

  34. “America First”….do you know where that rallying slogan first started?…..the KKK. Trump’s racism is about as blatantly obvious as it can be. His desire to build a wall is just another example of his hatred for peoples that aren’t fair skinned. The wall is a symbol of that hatred. I recently watched the movie, “The Green Book” and it was a reminder of what my childhood was like as my dad was a racist and a bigot. He softened during his later years, but racism that he portrayed left a long-lasting impression on me to become the exact opposite of him.

Trump has shown that racism is not much different today than it has been in our nation’s past. . The fact that nearly half of this country supports is viewpoints is a sad commentary on where we are today as a country.

    • Trump was not the first president to use the phrase. Check out Coolidge, Wilson, and I believe Taft. Though Wilson could have been a racist it’s not because he used the phrase. Just because some idiot from the kkk used it does not mean that anyone who used it is now a racist. I mean seriously, that’s all it takes? And building a border wall doesn’t either.

      • What evidence do you require? Lynching at the White House?

Honestly, I’m thinking you’d probably still say “while he didn’t tie the noose and he didn’t say it was because he wasn’t white so how can we know it is racism”

I’m honestly floored anyone can be alive in 2019 and not recognize Trump’s obvious racism. It’s a pretty solid level of cognitive dissonance

        • You’re like my sister..Trump is a racist, Trump is a liar, etc, etc. I ask her to name something that he did that was racist or tell me one lie that he said.

All she does is get pissed. Can’t come up with anything. You spout off but don’t have any substance to your post.

          Ima start calling you “Sis”!

          • See, I have a hard time believing someone can be so stupid as to not know who Dumbshit is and has always been. So have to believe that you’re using bombastic ignorance as a tool for deflection.

I guess you’re hoping nobody will read it? What’s the motive behind it?

It’s not doing you any good that is apparent. Are you showing off for someone you’re attracted to? I’ve been dumb for that kind of thing before.

            And then I grew up.

          • Holy fuck, are you really claiming Trump Hasn’t lied?

You are literally the dumbest human in the planet. Well done

Nothing can beat that. Holy shit….

          • Good.

Since you’re repeating what you’re being told back to those who are telling you, you understand what it is you’re being told and why it that’s possibly the dumbest thing you’ve ever submitted as a post on this site.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I saw an influx of this really stupid talking point across many platforms within hours of your posting it here. So I know now that you were just parroting some really stupid talking point… that can be as easily answered as being asked to source a picture of anything that is red.

I still don’t understand the motivation behind creating such a strange talking point. It’s like saying, “The sky has never been blue. You can’t prove it. I’ll await your evidence, which can never exist… because somehow I’ve been programmed to think blue is not blue.”

It’s a really weird canyon-shaped hill on which you choose to die.

      • Taft didn’t use it. Wilson definitely did, but he was geeked up on his KKK creds. Harding (the most corrupt POTUS up to now) might have used it or a variation of it because of his adherence to the giant in his industry, Hearst… and he was at least Klan-friendly. I don’t think Coolidge ever used it. If he did, he may have done it in the context Harding did, maybe trying to appease the base when Harding died.

By the time Lindbergh was using it, it was for antisemitism.

But I think the consistent early use was formed by Hearst when (hypocritically, he used it to bash, then eventually praise McKinley for participation in the Spanish-American War.

Hearst revived it for the opposite effect before WWI, because he liked the Germans. So he switched it up to mean non-intervention, instead of aggression. And Wilson gladly took Hearst’s media support because of it. By the end of Wilson’s term, it was being used against the League of Nations. But because Wilson was also KKK, it became a point of pride for that organization.

Since that time, it has always meant isolationism. It’s on their coins, along with always and forever, I believe. You can check out Dumbshit’s UN speech to see how many times he repeated forever and always in the “America First” context.

It’s just a trick of language that resonates with those programmed to listen for it. When they hear it, it’s like ringing a bell.

And it’s not just that. Most of his language is steeped in that vocabulary. If you’ve had to spend any time with Birchers, you can’t help but hear the same things, verbatim, you could hear in a family member’s living room 50 years ago.

Watch Mississippi Burning. The language in that was taken verbatim from Klan members. It mirrors a lot of what’s being said today, same phrasing and all.

I mean, they’ve had a hundred years to put a better shine on the turd of an idea, but it’s still the same language.

  35. Apparently those MAGA hat kids have other video taunting blacks at a basketball game. Haven’t seen it yet, but heard that from someone. Also, at the protest blacks taunted them with “future school shooters” and “child molested kids” and said “go back to Europe.” Crazy.

    This story keeps getting weirder.

Where is the school in all this?

  36. Hey youngorst, good call — You said “And yes, I am proud to not be on Mussolini’s side (the man Trump is truly imitating) ” — he is a dead ringer (well, if he’d shave his head).

    • The Fascist State lays claim to rule in the economic field no less than in others; it makes its action felt throughout the length and breadth of the country by means of its corporate, social, and educational institutions, and all the political, economic, and spiritual forces of the nation, organised in their respective associations, circulate within the State. (p. 41).

—Benito Mussolini, 1935, “The Doctrine of Fascism”,

It hasn’t done much good because you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.

      • In fact, I’ll go you one further.

Have you ever read a history book and wondered “damn, how did all those people end up in concentration camps?”

It’s pretty simple. Get a large portion of the population to pointlessly hate another portion of the population simply because they look, act, think or believe differently. Get them so mad that they believe that all of their problems are caused by people they’ve never met.

Be honest. If Pelosi announced that she had her own special law enforcement branch and that they were rounding up all of the “deplorable” Trump supporters to put them in special “re-education” camps, you’d be all for it.

        • No… he wouldn’t.

I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it’s highly unlikely Pelosi would ever do anything like that. Dumbshit, on the other hand, has already begun the process with his fear-mongering and prayer rug bullshit and 4000 terrorists and all that crap.

You’re going to find a mixed bag if you look to history. Hitler and Mussolini targeted the low-hanging fruit first–the immigrants and the transients (gypsies). He always had an eye on the Jewish population, but he started with those he knew he could legally disenfranchise with the least amount of legislative hassle.

Meanwhile, the US was split in many different ways. Remember, we had FDR, who was willing to put Americans in internment camps if they were of Japanese or Italian heritage (or, I would suspect, if they even looked like it). But he was seemingly the only one in our government (before that… and Pearl) who would take up the mantle of resisting Hitler.

Move forward 10 and 20 years, and we have two Texans directing the National Guard to protect civil rights at home… but sending the same people they were saving from inequality off to die in French Indo-China. The ratio of service doesn’t point to it, but what disenfranchised population is going to hear a call to service when it isn’t conscripted?

Is there hope for Dumbshit? Can he rightly take a dump on all of his past, and become a decent person, like Robert Byrd did? That’s not likely. He really doesn’t have the mental capacity to understand any of this, which is why he points to (and photoshops) his bloated gut and fat, lazy ass as the primary drivers in his decision-making process.

So we’re left with a POTUS who begins with the low hanging fruit while wandering the desert, tilting at windmills. He’s purposely scaring people for no reason other than his own vanity. And he sympathizes with Nazis and white supremacists when they go out on hunting expeditions, as they call them, looking for punching bags.

What’s an observer supposed to think of his endgame, given that’s how everything began back then?

The nice thing is that Smeagol Miller and Dumbshit are the primary drivers of this massively hyped xenophobic scaredy bullshit. They know who the stupids are. Trump calls them stupid to their face, and then he tells them stupid things about our most heavily fortified border to make them more insecure than the quivering little wussies already are.

Sure, Dumbshit, your gut is telling you that terrorists are going to walk miles in the desert heat and difficult terrain and risk detection by our most active border patrol concentrations… when they can just walk across a smuggling route on a cool summer night in Minnesota… on a 4000 mile border with pretty much nobody guarding it? And that’s not even pointing out that drugs and people are overwhelmingly smuggled in at ports of entry (or apparently tunnels dug by horizontal drilling rigs)… and that visa overstays from Asian countries are the number one addition to fugitive aliens… since net migration over the southern border has been negative for several years.

Hey Dumbshit, you’re a fucking wuss of a moron, you scared piece of shit. Go tell that to your stupids.

*For anyone who wants to talk semantics, I’ve never thought the term illegal alien was correct. It’s not a proper descriptor for a person. So I’ve settled on the term fugitive alien. Both terms are correct, and it desrcibes said person’s legal status properly.

          • I never said Pelosi would do it. It was a hypothetical. I needed a recognizable name.

My point was that there are certain segments of society that are told they should hate people that they’ve never met, so they do. These aren’t stupid, uneducated people. But between those that are angry enough to hate and those that are indifferent enough to look past it you have your answer.

          • It was one of two points. I was with you until that non sequitir.

Some people believe rounding up others for no good reason is antithetical to their existence as Americans and would stand up to such tyranny always. Some of them go so far as to stand up for equality in all facets of life.

So I think it would be quite difficult for Dumbshit to go beyond what he’s already created. Even those who aren’t active recognize all his rhetoric. He can’t go on promising bad things, creating said bad things and blaming others for them, that only he can fix the bad things he created, and ending up going bankrupt in everything he does.

            Can he?

          • Nobody told me to hate Trump or his supporters, I cane to that position 100% on my own.

He’s a monster and his supporters are amongst the dumbest humans to ever walk this planet.

          • I’ll need a half billion dollars from daddy first… a half billion in assets that would be worth $10b now, if I was even smart enough to hire some schlub of a real businessman who actually knew how to run a business.

Then I’ll need an orange sharpie. Does anyone know if grey/white hair needs to be bleached before coloring, for vanity purposes? And how can I lose three to four inches? Can I do it if I claim to know the technology better than anyone?

            Anyone.

You just go lap up the original Dumbshit’s pee-pee, and keep telling me it’s rain. It makes you look like the smart one in the room.

        • You’ve just pointed out what people are seeing and experiencing on BOTH political sides. Lots of stereotypes being thrown around by FOX news and CNN — doesn’t help all of us. The media likes to meddle in the extremes and most of us are stuck somewhere in the middle. We don’t need a Trump to rule this country and we certainly don’t need a Hillary, we need someone who is fair and level headed, of which Trump is neither. I always liked McCain, they need to make more like him.

          • Hell, I would take a Ross Perot and his charts at this point (JK). Seriously though, I think the one good thing out of all of this Trump presidency, is it is a wake-up call for the government, especially. Politicians thought that last term of Obama was bad….welcome to HELL!!! Collectively as a country, we’ll say with Trump, “Been there, done that”. hopefully get someone in there with real leadership qualities. I’m tired of the motley-crew of choices that show up every election — bunch of talking heads, and no real substance.

          • There was real substance out there. You just chose to ignore it.

If you’re talking about the “realistic chances” candidates, then you have to start looking inward to see who it is that accepts that lack of substance as a norm great enough to be the only realistic chances.

        • I’m curious.

Do you think all others are capable of supporting that kind of action because you yourself have bought into the weenie’s fear-mongering bullshit? Or is it because you, like me, have found an immense disrespect for some people you never would have expected to be racist wussies, but they’ve been emboldened enough by Dumbshit to stand up and destroy their own lives with fear and loathing?

I can’t hire some trades anymore. One of them was complaning about everyone and everything before all this. Now it’s all about how he’s afraid of Mexicans. Never mind that he’s lost all his crew (about half Mexican) because of his bullshit, and now the quality of his work sucks. He fucking afraid of them and terrorists… simply because Dumbshit tells him to be that pussified shell of a man… you know… like Dumbshit himself.

you need to get over this “sides” thing and all the tribalist garbage. There are no sides when it comes to ripping crying babies out of their parents arms and throwing them all in cages. There’s only wrong.

I was hoping Dumbshit would declare an emergency, and the executive branch would return to work, despite its really poor management. Then he could do nothing (just like the national emergency he declared for the opioid issue) and declare a huge victory for hmself… a common theme in Dumbshit’s life.

          • I don’t give a rat’s ass what any politician has to say. I know it can happen because it has happened before, and to societies that are on the whole more intelligent than what we have now (looking at you, Germany).

Nice effort trying to flip this around, but the only one coming right out and saying he *hates* people he’s never met is the Hillary voter.

            Good effort though.

          • The societal shifts are obvious. People are worried about them as we speak, because the guy in charge thinks he’s entitled to autocratic powers to direct policy without a mandate. The GOP had a mandate. Dumbshit’s been their lackey with little to no effort on their part. They don’t care who gets the credit for their hustle, so long as their financiers are happy. Dumbshit gets to stand in front of people and victoriously shout rudimentary understandings of policies to people as if he’s the greatest thing since Jesus.

He’s not draining the swamp. He’s mudding. As long as there’s someone telling him he’s great, it’s all good.

          • What I was wondering is why you poorly chose a hypothetical then accused someone who has constantly hedged at inequality of throwing that deeply rooted an ideal away… because of a poorly chosen hypothetical.

You have to make that large a sell-out worth something more than, “Because so-and-so said so.”

And that’s if you believe everyone has a price.

          • You know the difference between me and Trump supporter?

I’d defend Trump supporters rights to be incredibly ignorant, racist, and stupid in court despite hating them.

Because I believe in America, Trump supporters stopped believing in America long ago, they wouldn’t support him if the believed in America.

      • He’s not going to count against this class. They like what they see in him for his potential, he’s only 17 years old but has good size for his age.
Will join the team as part of the 2020 scholarship class.

Several teams were looking to add him as a PWO, including USC.

      • No idea what angie is teasing. Could be new DB coach getting announced soon, could be something to do with team sponsorship deal, could be a nothing burger, hehe. I would guess if it really is “big”, more media will be covering it tomorrow than just Blitz, so you can save your pennies.

          • We were supposed to have 2 other local guys visit(Nelson from Clackamas and Ramirez from S.Albany) plus we recently offered another kicker whose name I forget. Not sure the chances of Skiba coming to OSU. I havent paid close attention to kicker recruiting because it seems like they’re always left till the end of the recruiting cycle

  37. He has good size for a 17 year old. Big frame as well, which hopefully means he puts in “good” weight. I trust Coach M to identify potential projects. I know he was very high on Gray as well. I think it’s a great pick-up. USC doesn’t just offer PWO spots to anyone.

  38. Buffet for President?

You will continue to suffer if you have an emotional reaction to everything that is said to you. True power is observing things with logic. True power is restraint. If words control you that means everyone else can control you. Breathe and allow things to pass… —Warren Buffett

Been critical of him for many reasons, but he does have wisdom. We’d do well with a President who has wisdom. Ah, when kings are philosophers and philosophers are kings…

    • That Plato guy… he’s done an amazing job.

While wisdom is an essential trait for true leadership, one would have hoped the opposite wasn’t believed by a wide swath of Americans. I would say humility would be the most essential quality for service. But humility doesn’t get anyone elected.

  39. Calling Trump “dumb shit” does zero. He’s clearly not dumb, and the insult is juvenile. This is why the Right is winning. The Left is all insults and emotion. They don’t know how to organize a coherent message that’s rational yet effective. It’s either too much intellectualizing or too emotional. Trump is killing it with punchy one-liners that have an effective message. If the Lefts plan in 2020 is to shame, call people stupid, and intellectualize the problem they will lose.

Regarding Trumps’ intellect. He’s not a book smart, traditional genius, but he’s a genius at manipulation and gaslighting. I’d call this “evil genius”, but yeah, there are many forms of genius besides books/traditional IQ.

    • No.

He’s just that stupid. Don’t gild the dumbshit.

One can be an expert crook who skated his whole life due to entitlement and still be dumb as a doorknob. Judge him by his words and actions, not by his tenuous influence, masked by lies and hatred and whatever else he chooses to deflect. Some of the dumbest things a POTUS has ever said have come out of that pucker hole on the front of his head. And that’s just a snapshot of one day.

      • From day one, he has been that stupid. It sort of took me by surprise. But his American Carnage explained a lot. It’s pretty much boilerplate blah blah blah that turns suddenly dark. But this line is just dumfoundingly stupid:

The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed across the entire world.

Oooh… sorry about that. You spun a whammy. Better luck next time.

“They” from other countries don’t own America. “They” are the wealthy elite who keep making laws that benefit them incrementally over the short term, but wholly in the end.

“They” are you, Dumbshit… you and your Goldman Sachs cabinet. Hell, “they” are especially you if we follow the money in your suddenly cash rich life recently, and we’re to think you have a clue about anything and might be right.

I was born during the day, but….

      • Question:
Has anyone read The Art of the Deal?

And I don’t mean in an, “I trudged through the first couple chapters, then had to put it down because it was abjectly stupid,” way. I mean really read it, cover to cover.

After doing that, have a peek at how all those deals turned out.

        That’s who he is.

        • No, but it sounds funny.
He’s pretty bad at deals. Like, couldn’t he have had 25bil for “the wall” in the 2018 budget, and he nixed that, only to be begging for 5 bil now?

What’s sad is he doesn’t even want a wall. He told his aids to call it all off, but then the Right got on him, and he dug in. He just wants to be loved. Sad story of a malignant narc.

That wife of his has been gaslighted so many times she doesn’t even have an identity anymore.

          • Yeah people from Canada aren’t coming across that border because they have a decent economy. The best solution to this “crisis” is to stop using Mexico as our manufacturing ground and help them build their economy.

          • Yes, but Canada also didn’t fuck up our country, like we did to these countries.

If any of you want to follow some real conspiracy theories (more like economic spy games, but you get it), you should read John Perkins’ Confessions of an Economic Hitman.

It’s funny that some who served with him dispute some of the details, thinking that will make the whole of it go away. I had a family member who did the same thing. He always told me he would share the stories once I had a security clearance that allowed him to do so. I had one, and he never told. But that’s fine. I talked to people he worked with.

The US was exporting their super-partriotic Bircher scum ideas long before Bircher scum were even a thing. I feel bad for picking on the Bircher scums. They don’t have any original ideas.

These countries have more recent wounds dealt by the US. Reagan really did a job on Central and South America and the Caribbean.

  40. Did the original NAFTA benefit Mexico in any way? I am recalling, for example, US corn flooding into Mexico, undercutting prices of Mexican corn and its diversity with cheap Monsanto-type corn. Many small.farms in Mexico couldn’t keep up, thus sending farmers over the border as cheap labor in the US.??

    • It was good for Mexico in that they had exclusivity and solid trading partners, but hindsight says it was bad for them. And the USMCA is just Nafta with a couple TPP amendments… which is weird, since the TPP (minus the US) was implemented on the first of the month.

But there are also weird tariffs here and there, sticking out like hairy moles on a face.

There’s no rhyme or reason to the current deal. It’s sort of a Frankenstein’s monster, stitched together from different sources. I have less faith in “all the best people” after it was rolled out, not that I had much faith in a hack ideology poorly spun by a mediocre economist in the first place.

  41. I won’t shit up the new thread with any more of this crap, but-

Chief Shitting Bull from the maga kid videos was confirmed to be full of shit once more in his claims to have been a “Marine Recon Ranger Vietnam Combat Veteran”.

Lying piece of shit was a refrigeration mechanic at El Toro. Never left stateside.

    • Anyone wandering into the public sphere should know that service records aren’t some sacrosanct thing that can be hidden so they can just go lie about it, willy nilly… unless you have the greatest mind of all time and hire the best people and are the “only one who can” fix/save America… because America sucks ever since electing the lying Kenyan and whatever else the dear leader wants to lie about… on a daily basis.

If you want double standards, you should just say so.

Maybe the guy had to sleep with lots of models, and that was his Viet Nam. Maybe self-healing bone spurs kept him stateside.

Did you ever think of that?

      • One nice thing is that he was never a POW, because according to POTUS, you can’t be a military hero unless you don’t get caught. We should probably strip all awards and commendations from those people.

Then again… some would say spending any time in Orange County is in itself like being a POW.

        • It was only being screamed from the rooftops by every media outlet and Twitter account. Most of the outrage has been scrubbed by now, but I’m confident you could find some. The fauxcahontas tweet full of righteous indignation over the horrible treatment of this tribal elder Vietnam war hero was especially nice.

          • I scanned the link that showed all the instant outrage and retractions and really poorly written commentary. It wasn’t featured prominently there. I had to check it again just to find it as an aside in some of the highlighted tweets.

The only thing I’ve seen on TV from the oldster is a quick clip where he said he was trying to diffuse a situation, and he was scared.

I think it was so quickly up and down, that I just missed the news cycle.

The remnants are hard to find, as well. I mean, don’t lie about your service. But why would that have validated or invalidated his actions? People responded to the one pic/video with body language that screamed entitlement. They didn’t care enough to get the whole story.

And now I have to ignore pics of these same kids screaming at black hoops players while in full minstrel look, lips and everything… because, LOOK SQUIRREL!

  42. The jealousy of me has no end. Like my Dad said,”winners win and losers bitch”. Keep rocking losers!!!! Good luck in 2 years.
