  1. I hope we lose. That would cause the biggest shirt storm ever and Wanker would almost certainly not be around next year. Feels worth it. This staff needs to get its world rocked to force change or else we will only keep hearing excuses that losing to Sac St. and EWU isn’t all that bad. Tired of OSU’s stale ways and the lack of any accountability.

  2. Pac12 refs blatantly homering for the quacks vs Virginia. Virginia’s D has given up some big plays but has adjusted and is disrupting UO’s offense.

      • Better than looking at the box score, I watched the game fuckmouth. And I saw Pac12 homer refs keeping drives and momentum alive in the first half while the game was still close.

So suck a bag of dicks, and go back to pretending the ducks don’t want Manziel on their squad because he’s “not classy”. Hahahahahahahaha.

        • The fact that you thought your post was funny shows your maturity level. You give Beaver fans a bad name.

Oh, by the way … the game wasn’t close in the first half (except for the first 2 minutes before it was 7-0).

    • Wait, you support your family… that you hope gets fired or replaced or otherwise loses his job? The coaching staff is not beaver family, they are paid to be here and would bolt in a second if given a better opportunity.
As far as the players being family, yes I agree with you. I don’t like wishing them to lose but this is lifeaand the sooner kids learn about how the real world functions the better.

  3. Yep…..please have the defense all out of position again, but now, oh great Beaver in the sky….have the offense stumble, and not come close to covering for the D….

….so, that said, it will be OSU 56, UH 17….

  4. Tyner has played his first two minutes for the ‘ucks and has already scored 2 TDs.

Also, the ‘uck head coach impresses me as being intelligent and having a good head for clock management.

Perhaps it’s time for Dr. Ray to move on and hopefully be replaced by someone who’s interested in improving the OSU athletic department, which imo would mean the firing of bobby care less.

  5. Looking like a good week for the Pac-12. If beavers take care of business and Cal is able to close out PSU, we should have an undefeated week. SEC looks bad this year – Clemson’s win over Georgia and, arguably more importantly, unranked Miami’s upset over Florida help contribute to the belief that the Pac-12 is the strongest conference in FBS. Not that the talking heads at ESPN will care, but it can’t hurt the conference for the so called dominant SEC to look bad.

  6. Anyone else bedsides me just really not care anymore? My Saturdays in the fall used to revolve around osu games. After last week, not so much. I may turn on the radio this evening while painting but I am just not giving 2 shits about beaver football. This is uncharted territory. I haven’t cared this little since the early 90’s

    • Yup. I’m thinking that other than baseball, I’m not all that hyped up. Mainly because I don’t like the football and basketball head coaches.

    • I sort of feel the same way. I’m still going to the games I’ve got tickets for, and will still watch on TV when I can. But I find myself not as excited as I was this time last week.

    • All Riley had to do was hit par, and we would be 1-0. Now the whole season is in a cocked hat. He has surely fucked the pooch. If the team looks really hot on D now, maybe the season can recover and be a winner. He still has a chance, but I doubt he will fulfill it. I cant lose interest yet…. Oh, the poor OSU fan…..doomed to such bullshit…. But cant look away just yet…..

    • I feel the same way.

I will watch and make fun of Riley/Banker, but I won’t be upset all night like I used to be…I think this is due to my overall apathy about college football. The corruption has ruined the game for me. I don’t watch any other games besides the Beavs. Just two years ago I watched from morning til night.

    • I will admit I listened to some of it on the radio. But I watched none of the game. For once my day did not revolve around beaver football. It really wasn’t that hard either. Guess its the beginning of cutting the cord

  7. With all due respect to the Beavs, the Cal game was a decent game and in question until the end. If I were a Viking fan I would be pissed if Pac12 went away from it to switch to the most boring first quarter of a Beaver non-conference game Ive seen in a while.

    • I dont’ think “boom” saw the field yesterday. At least there’s SOME aspect of accountability on the coaching staff–the WR coach seems to have the best guys on the field.

      • Sadly, I dont think we can lose enough games for that to happen. If we still have the same core coaching staff after a 3-9 season, how many losses DOES it take to see people fired? If I knew for a fact that 10 losses was the limit, I would root against my beloved Beavs. Since I dont see that happening, (or likely that that would lead to firings anyway for that matter) I cant bring myself to actually root for us to lose so early in the season.

  8. Imo OSU hasn’t had tackling practice because their so thin on the lines, etc. and that’s due to shitty recruiting.

The AD and this coaching staff have to go.

Start with the AD and bring in someone who’s capable of lighting a fire under Riley’s and Robinson’s asses.

  9. Return to the mean….last year’s fast start was an aberration. This is vintage Riley…slow start…but there’s no recovering on the backside of this year’s schedule with all of the mobile qbs, hurry up, spread/option….

  10. thats on coaching. Cooks should simply go out of bounds, save the time for your Offense. The extra running around leads to a penalty. Dumb

    • The continual 5 yd passes when 8+ are needed to move the chains, the continual claim that the run game is important with no play calling to support that goal. Yeah, repetitive.

8 rushing yds for 13 attempts!!

Hawaii demonstrated what establishing the run will do for an offense, Riley claims to agree but simply will not carry through. Hard to stomach.

      • There is nothing that frustrates me more than Mannion throwing the ball to a reciever COMING BACK TO THE BALL short of the first down marker. To me it really highlights the difference between a well coached program and a poorly coached one.

  11. Don’t forget that Hawaii was picked to finish last in the Mountain West. These coaches are not even able to be mediocre this year. Totally pathetic football and coaching.

  12. Good drive; funny how when Riley remembers to run the damn ball, the offense marches down the field.

Defense gets a “stop” despite being completely fooled on first, because the UH receiver dropped a pass while wide-open. I thought that corner was supposed to be good? That was like a 10 yard cushion he gave…

  13. Just got back from fishing…glad I didn’t plan my day around this game. Checking box score, looks like Mannion playing well until the INT — letting HAWA back into the game…..WOW!

  14. Three penalties on the OLine this drive. And a GORGEOUS streak throw by Vaz, second time this game. He makes that throw a lot better than Mannion does.

  15. If WSU’s qb didn’t suck dicks they’d be a pretty good team. Whenever Leach gets his own qb recruit in and developed they could be dangerous.

  16. Canzano’s been reading AB again. Makes a few factual errors but realizes that this win proves next to nothing.

Jim Wilson pulling back a bit on the need for the run game, saying if you can get the ball to your RB with a pass maybe that isn’t so bad. Pretty bad though when you need to burn clock or be able to count on converting 4th and >2. Tonight the left side of the OL seemed to do a decent job on the few rushes which went their way, but apparently, Riley/Langs feel a need to go right…especially if that is the narrow side of the field.

    • Can anyone explain running to the narrow side of the field to me? They have been doing this since at least 2006. They prefer to run fly sweep that way too. Makes no logical sense to me.

      • I can’t explain it and find it frustrating as well.
I did notice in one play tonight that Cooks was on the wide side and attracted some defenders on a rush which went to the narrow side. I don’t think that is a pattern though.

        • Running to short side = thinking one less defender to short side of field – LB walked out covering wide side + strong side

BUT, you have no real estate to run = the side line is your “DEFENDER” …..

I never understood “spread the field” and use less of the field to run a play….

  17. Wazzu beats USC at the coliseum 10-7. Even in down years for the Trojans we still haven’t beaten them down there in forever. Being a beaver fan just sucks anymore

      • Maybe we get Lane Kiffin fired (ala Tedford, Neuheisel, etc — I think of Apocalypse Now and Riley has all of those ears around his neck, his “kills”)…..hopefully we beat them and he doesn’t get the boot….why you say? ….because Kiffin sucks, and we need that W (if he is there next year, we have a pretty good chance of beating them at the coliseum next year).

  18. Hmmmm. A roster of 100 players. No depth on offensive line. No depth on defensive line. No depth at linebacker. No depth at cornerback. It’s kinda like going into a shoe store in Anchorage and finding an over supply of flip flops.

    • A few thoughts after watching 3 quarters of the game in person:

Crowd was dead; had a “show-me” type attitude. All that amped up music (to which almost no one responsed enthusiastically) comes across like shouting into the wind.

After 1st quarter Hawaii made an in-game change and started those delayed blitzes, which turned the game around momentarily. All of them came in on the right side of our o-line; no one (esp. Enger) seemed to be picking them up.

The fly sweeps and reverses are being run WAY too deep. Gotta hit those seems fast, like UO does from the line of scrimmage.

OSU seemed to make an in-game adjustment by alternating Ward for Woods. I think Ward should be starting myself. Woods is on a fast track to become the next McCants if not Boom.

Looks like a 5 win season: SDSU, Colorado, SC and either Cal or UW.

Feel a real beat-down coming this week vs. Utah.

  19. Yeah I agree, think Ward runs with more burst and aggression and quickness. Woods still to tall and not quick to the line. I know Ward is a good receiver, but I think Woods is easier to find being taller. Also, fgotta think Chris Brown is better then Stevenson returning kicks? Liked what I saw from TE Smith, but part of the running game problem is they still caant get any help blocking from the TE. I think they would find better running lanes out of the 3 wideout sets than the double TE.

Defense is in trouble down to our second string because of injuries. Doctor out likely a few weeks. I didn’t see Songy, but Saluo did look good, just a little small.
